Scripture Meditation: Hebrews 12:1-2
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Action Steps:
To put living self-sacrificially into practice, we want to encourage you to find an opportunity to serve others this weekend. Is there a soup kitchen, retirement home, rescue mission, or food bank near you at which your family can volunteer to serve others? Find a way soon to serve a local organization. If it’s not possible because of COVID-19, brainstorm as a family a way you can live self-sacrificially and serve others. We recommend not giving money to someone on the corner. Instead find a way to support local organizations that truly know how to help people in need.
