So I found myself a lot in."},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":187.59,"endTime":190.77,"body":"I was teaching high school boy,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":187.59,"endTime":190.77,"body":"Sunday school, I was involved in"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":190.77,"endTime":195.06,"body":"adult ministries and stuff,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":190.77,"endTime":195.06,"body":"constantly explaining things to"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":195.06,"endTime":198.42,"body":"folks. And they're like, yeah,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":195.06,"endTime":198.42,"body":"nobody's ever told me about the"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":198.42,"endTime":201.03,"body":"curse of Ham or something like"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":198.42,"endTime":201.03,"body":"that. And I'm like, what, how am"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":201.03,"endTime":203.88,"body":"I the only person you know, who"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":201.03,"endTime":203.88,"body":"knows about this? And I'm,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":205.31,"endTime":209.69,"body":"I'm medium intelligence. But I"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":205.31,"endTime":209.69,"body":"can be a real Dumb Dumb about a"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":209.69,"endTime":214.67,"body":"lot of stuff. And so it's been a"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":209.69,"endTime":214.67,"body":"joy for me to learn these"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":214.67,"endTime":216.92,"body":"things. And they come back and"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":214.67,"endTime":216.92,"body":"teach them and it's like, oh, I"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":216.92,"endTime":220.19,"body":"guess maybe I should do a"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":216.92,"endTime":220.19,"body":"podcast, taking those stories"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":220.19,"endTime":221.81,"body":"and and trying to tell them to"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":220.19,"endTime":221.81,"body":"people."},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":222.39,"endTime":225.84,"body":"Exactly. He"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":222.41,"endTime":225.62,"body":"And this stories, even"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":222.41,"endTime":225.62,"body":"those stories, like you said"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":225.62,"endTime":228.56,"body":"that we don't really think about"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":225.62,"endTime":228.56,"body":"a lot you gave the example of"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":225.84,"endTime":229.65,"body":"did actually He'd really drawn"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":225.84,"endTime":229.65,"body":"e into that whole story and I h"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":228.56,"endTime":233.33,"body":"the curse of Ham. Yeah. So a"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":228.56,"endTime":233.33,"body":"little story about when we first"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":229.65,"endTime":233.7,"body":"d studied it and that's exact"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":229.65,"endTime":233.7,"body":"y what my response was. It do"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":233.33,"endTime":236.6,"body":"started the nonprofit that I'm a"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":233.33,"endTime":236.6,"body":"part of. And so this would be"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":233.7,"endTime":237.78,"body":"s not exist. Ham was never curs"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":233.7,"endTime":237.78,"body":"d. In fact, he was blessed! Cana"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":236.6,"endTime":243.59,"body":"2006. And I became the leader of"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":236.6,"endTime":243.59,"body":"this organization that was"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":237.78,"endTime":242.79,"body":"n was the one cursed. Yeah, tha"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":237.78,"endTime":242.79,"body":"was gonna impact everything t"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":242.79,"endTime":246.42,"body":"at we did. What she was really a"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":242.79,"endTime":246.42,"body":"king is Do you believe that we"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":243.62,"endTime":248.36,"body":"taking care of education for"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":243.62,"endTime":248.36,"body":"some kids in Uganda. And Sara,"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":248.36,"endTime":251.9,"body":"the woman in charge of that"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":248.36,"endTime":251.9,"body":"program there. She said, I have"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":251.9,"endTime":255.8,"body":"one question for you. And this"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":251.9,"endTime":255.8,"body":"was her question to see if she"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":255.8,"endTime":258.47,"body":"wanted to work with me. And she"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":255.8,"endTime":258.47,"body":"said, What do you believe about"},{"speaker":"Kay","startTime":258.47,"endTime":259.28,"body":"the curse of Ham?"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":259.73,"endTime":261.98,"body":"Yeah, and hopefully you"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":259.73,"endTime":261.98,"body":"said it doesn't exist."},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":288.2,"endTime":291.56,"body":"You know, when somebody has to"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":288.2,"endTime":291.56,"body":"ask you that. But"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":292.87,"endTime":296.56,"body":"for those of those listening who"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":296.56,"endTime":300.52,"body":"don't know what the curse of Ham"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":296.56,"endTime":300.52,"body":"is, when Noah goes through the"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":300.52,"endTime":304.36,"body":"whole flood and the flood"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":300.52,"endTime":304.36,"body":"recedes. And they go on to dry"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":304.36,"endTime":308.89,"body":"land. He has three sons, one of"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":304.36,"endTime":308.89,"body":"which is named Ham. And there's"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":308.89,"endTime":311.98,"body":"that whole weird story that"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":308.89,"endTime":311.98,"body":"everybody skips over in the"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":311.98,"endTime":314.68,"body":"Bible about him being covered up"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":311.98,"endTime":314.68,"body":"with his nakedness and then"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":314.68,"endTime":316.66,"body":"placing a curse. And he's like,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":314.68,"endTime":316.66,"body":"we'll just skip that we don't"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":316.66,"endTime":320.14,"body":"know what that's about. It's"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":316.66,"endTime":320.14,"body":"actually a very important story,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":320.2,"endTime":324.52,"body":"not just in the Bible, but also"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":320.2,"endTime":324.52,"body":"in real life. So Noah gets up"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":324.52,"endTime":329.29,"body":"and he curses somebody and says,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":324.52,"endTime":329.29,"body":"Your people will be the servants"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":329.29,"endTime":333.7,"body":"of your brothers. And so then"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":329.29,"endTime":333.7,"body":"those sons of Noah go in"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":333.7,"endTime":339.79,"body":"different directions. And Ham is"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":333.7,"endTime":339.79,"body":"not cursed, his I think it's his"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":339.79,"endTime":344.65,"body":"son, Canaan that's cursed. And"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":339.79,"endTime":344.65,"body":"so Canaan ends up being cursed,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":344.65,"endTime":348.46,"body":"which is why later in the Bible,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":344.65,"endTime":348.46,"body":"the Canaanites are the ones who"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":348.46,"endTime":353.29,"body":"are killed when the people of"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":348.46,"endTime":353.29,"body":"Israel come back into Israel,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":353.47,"endTime":355.3,"body":"right? everybody's like, Well,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":353.47,"endTime":355.3,"body":"why did that happen? It's"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":355.3,"endTime":359.17,"body":"because of the curse of Canaan."},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":355.3,"endTime":359.17,"body":"But what got turned into was"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":359.17,"endTime":362.29,"body":"people pretended, because it's"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":359.17,"endTime":362.29,"body":"not in the text. It's not there"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":362.29,"endTime":365.65,"body":"in the text that Ham was cursed."},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":362.29,"endTime":365.65,"body":"But people pretended that Ham"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":365.65,"endTime":370.51,"body":"was cursed. And therefore, Ham"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":365.65,"endTime":370.51,"body":"went down to Africa, and he his"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":370.51,"endTime":375.37,"body":"people, became Africans, who"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":370.51,"endTime":375.37,"body":"would then quote, you know, as"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":375.37,"endTime":377.68,"body":"the theory would go, would then"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":375.37,"endTime":377.68,"body":"become the servant of all"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":377.68,"endTime":381.34,"body":"people. And so it was a"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":377.68,"endTime":381.34,"body":"justification for slavery,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":381.37,"endTime":384.7,"body":"especially in the United States,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":381.37,"endTime":384.7,"body":"was the story that was, quote"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":384.7,"endTime":386.92,"body":"unquote, biblical, but is"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":384.7,"endTime":386.92,"body":"actually not in the Bible and"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":386.92,"endTime":389.59,"body":"goes a completely different"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":386.92,"endTime":389.59,"body":"direction if you read the text."},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":389.86,"endTime":393.22,"body":"So I ended up doing several"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":389.86,"endTime":393.22,"body":"stories about this and untruths"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":393.22,"endTime":395.89,"body":"and I, every time I thought I"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":393.22,"endTime":395.89,"body":"was done, it would come back."},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":395.89,"endTime":398.05,"body":"I'm like, Okay, fine. We'll talk"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":395.89,"endTime":398.05,"body":"about the curse of Ham again."},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":398.08,"endTime":402.31,"body":"But it's one of those little"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":398.08,"endTime":402.31,"body":"weird stories in the Bible that"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":402.31,"endTime":406.78,"body":"has a tremendous amount of"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":402.31,"endTime":406.78,"body":"impact, and apparently is still"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":406.78,"endTime":411.25,"body":"felt today that it has so many"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":406.78,"endTime":411.25,"body":"repercussions when that one"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":411.25,"endTime":416.11,"body":"little twist of God's Word. And"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":411.25,"endTime":416.11,"body":"I think it really demonstrates a"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":416.11,"endTime":419.38,"body":"lot. And one of my desires in"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":416.11,"endTime":419.38,"body":"life is always to say, read the"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":419.38,"endTime":423.82,"body":"Bible, like yes, and read it for"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":419.38,"endTime":423.82,"body":"yourself. And it's great to get"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":423.82,"endTime":427.48,"body":"good teaching and stuff, but"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":423.82,"endTime":427.48,"body":"always read before the story,"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":427.48,"endTime":429.58,"body":"read after the story, actually"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":427.48,"endTime":429.58,"body":"read the whole thing, read the"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":429.58,"endTime":432.91,"body":"whole Bible, because there's all"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":429.58,"endTime":432.91,"body":"sorts of stuff like this, that"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":432.91,"endTime":435.67,"body":"we get taught in popular"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":432.91,"endTime":435.67,"body":"Christianity that is just not"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":435.67,"endTime":439.27,"body":"there. It's a real shame that"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":435.67,"endTime":439.27,"body":"something is so easily disproven"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":439.66,"endTime":443.62,"body":"comes up time and time and time"},{"speaker":"Chris","startTime":439.66,"endTime":443.62,"body":"again.
