Breaking news. TikTok is getting banned on Sunday, January 19th. At least that's what the Supreme Court says should happen, given that they feel that the law that bipartisan Congress enacted last year saying that it needs to be sold. That law is actually legal and doesn't violate Constitution. It is. It is legal. So as of right now, that means is getting banned on Sunday.

However, there is a high possibility that President Trump, after his inauguration, will sign some type of executive order which will extend its stay and allow it to keep running for who knows how long. But what if he doesn't? And what if he does eventually get banned? So that's the point of this video. My take on this, even though I actually like TikTok for my clients, I don't.

I hate to get on it because it is incredibly addicting and I start scrolling forever and ever. But for my clients, it was incredibly lucrative and easily closed millions and dollars in cases for my attorney clients. But what do we do now? Well, the good thing is, is the good thing is that there are plenty of other social media platforms out there that can and will receive all that attention.

There's obviously the new that are out there, and they do okay. And I'll pay. I'll pay close attention to them. But at the end of the day, you need to stick to the tried and true, which are LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and X. X is even doing short form videos and great for discoverability because of the popularity of TikTok and everything that they were doing, all the other platforms essentially copied a lot of what they were doing, including some of the algorithm ideas.

They started to actually give away a ton of free impressions and free views, because it was obviously working in getting more attention, getting more content produced on their platform, which was attracting more people. Early on, when the lot of the Copycatting started, they were there, were giving away a ton of free views. It's dropped in the last few years, but I anticipate that as this happens, we will probably see more of that to try to get people to come on board and choose them.

My recommendation is to get on all of them, all the ones that you can, and that makes sense for you. So, for example, if you're more B2B, jump on LinkedIn. They are doing it as well. But my favorite, and the one that I recommend the highest is going to be YouTube YouTube shorts and YouTube longform. They have done an incredible job of building up the platform, including the short form, which is what TikTok is best known for, even though they were starting to copy YouTube as well.

But the reason that I really, really love YouTube is because it has a long shelf life. All the content that you put on there essentially gets added to your library, and the videos that you produce are searchable are findable for years to come. So if you produce a video or a short form video today that does deliver some type of value and has some some search ranking, it will likely continue to produce value for years to come.

Unlike Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Once you post a video, it pretty much is gone and you won't see that video again. It's hard to find content on those platforms, but YouTube is the number two search engine on the internet. Just imagine yourself when you go to YouTube and you're trying to solve a problem. Fix a sink. How to change a tire.

You'll probably find some old videos where the same thing happens for your content. It's going to be searchable, findable, and it's going to be indexed. And for that reason, I believe that YouTube should be the platform that you should be prioritizing now. Having said all that, I still believe Facebook is is fantastic, Instagram is fantastic, Twitter X is fantastic, LinkedIn, they're all fantastic.

But if I had to prioritize one, it would be that one. And that's the reason. As you can see here, why I am doing more longform videos and prioritizing YouTube. The big point I definitely wanted to get across is just think of attention. Wherever attention is, you want to be there. As a matter of fact, streaming platforms are where a lot of attention are these days, whether it be Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, whatever.

Our attention is. Also, there. So advertising on those platforms should be something that you should consider as well. Feel free to hit me up, but wherever your audience is, eyeballs and ears are at.
