The Law of Generosity
In this episode, I’m sharing a personal testimony about the power of giving—how tithing, generosity, and living with an open hand has repeatedly brought unexpected blessings into my life and my family’s life. We dive into the spiritual principles of reciprocity, sowing and reaping, and what it really means to give with faith, not expectation. This isn’t about a transactional mindset—it’s about aligning with God’s unchanging law of generosity.
I’ll share a recent moment where I gave double what I had planned—trusting God with the outcome—and how He showed up in ways I could’ve never imagined. We’ll also look at powerful biblical truths like Luke 6:38, 2 Corinthians 9:6, and Matthew 25:40 to understand how giving transforms our heart and positions us to receive.
Whether it’s money, time, or attention—giving is a spiritual act of trust. And when we treat others the way we would treat Jesus, we’re living out the very heart of God.

Today I want to talk about something deeply personal to me—something that I’ve experienced time and time again: the law of giving. This is about generosity. It’s about tithing. It’s about living with an open hand, not a clenched fist. And it’s about understanding that when we give—freely, joyfully, with faith—we will receive. That’s not just a mindset; it’s God’s law. Period.
A few weeks ago, I was behind on my monthly tithe. Life got busy, and I hadn’t prioritized it at the start of the month like I usually do. But instead of letting guilt creep in, I turned it into a moment of faith. I decided, while paying bills, to not only give what I had missed for the previous month—but go ahead and give for the next one too. A double portion. And in that same spirit of giving, I felt led to send a couple of gift cards to people who had recently blessed me. It wasn’t about the amount—it was about the heart behind it.
Let me tell you… within just a couple of weeks, God showed up. Two opportunities came out of nowhere. Total blessings. And to be honest, it’s almost funny how it worked out—because I couldn’t have orchestrated it if I tried. Only God. I looked up and just laughed… because His laws never change. Our hearts are the ones that need to grow and shift.
This is not about prosperity gospel. This is about principles. It’s about obedience. It’s about trust. It’s about knowing that God sees our hearts and He knows what we need—even more than we do.
Biblical Teaching:
• “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” — Luke 6:38
This isn’t just about money. It’s about attitude. Faith. Trust.
• “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” — 2 Corinthians 9:6
You reap what you sow. That’s not just karma. That’s kingdom law.
• “The first of your firstfruits you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God.” — Exodus 23:19
The first 10% isn’t ours. It belongs to God. When we hold on to it, we’re actually withholding what was never ours to begin with.
• “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
Every time we love someone well, we are loving Jesus Himself. That’s why it’s not just about money. It’s about our time. Our attention. Our willingness to see people.
We can’t always control what we receive or when, but we can control the posture of our heart. Giving isn’t transactional—it’s transformational. When we give, we release control. We say, “God, I trust You.” And that kind of faith? It moves heaven.
So here’s the question I want to leave you with today:
What’s in your hand that you’ve been holding too tightly?
Is it your money? Your time? Your attention? Your energy?
And what would it look like this week for you to give freely—not out of obligation, but out of love and faith?
Ask God to show you how and where He wants you to give. And then—do it. Trust Him with the outcome.
