Welcome to today’s episode, where we’re diving into a topic that affects every single one of us—money and stewardship.

Money is often a source of stress, worry, and even division. Many people feel like they never have enough, struggle with debt, or don’t know how to honor God with their finances.

But here’s the truth: God cares about how we handle money. The Bible has a lot to say about wealth, generosity, debt, and stewardship. And when we align our finances with God’s wisdom, we experience freedom, peace, and provision.

So today, we’re going to talk about:

• What the Bible says about money and stewardship.

• How to manage finances in a way that honors God.

• Practical steps to become a better steward of what God has given you.

Because money isn’t just a tool for survival—it’s an opportunity to serve God, bless others, and walk in financial wisdom.

1. Money Is a Tool, Not a Master

Many people think the Bible says money is evil—but that’s not true.

1 Timothy 6:10 says:

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”

Money itself is neutral—it’s how we use it and where our hearts are that matter.

✔ Money can be used for good—giving, blessing others, and providing for our families.

✘ Money can also become an idol—when we chase it over God, it leads to greed and selfishness.

The Right Perspective on Money:

• God owns everything. (Psalm 24:1)

• We are stewards, not owners. (Matthew 25:14-30)

• Money should serve us—we should never serve money. (Matthew 6:24)

Practical Step:

• Ask yourself: “Am I managing my money with a mindset of stewardship or ownership?”

2. The Principle of Stewardship – Managing What God Has Given You

Everything we have—money, time, talents, and resources—belongs to God. Our job is to manage them wisely.

Luke 16:10 says:

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.”

How to Be a Good Steward of Finances:

✔ Live within your means – Avoid unnecessary debt.

✔ Save and plan wisely – Prepare for the future.

✔ Be generous – Use money to bless others.

Practical Step:

• Create a budget that reflects God’s priorities—giving, saving, and responsible spending.

3. Avoiding Debt & Financial Traps

Debt can be a huge burden and keep us from living in financial freedom.

Proverbs 22:7 says:

“The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.”

How to Handle Debt Biblically:

1. Avoid unnecessary debt – Don’t buy what you can’t afford.

2. If you have debt, create a plan to pay it off – Start small and stay consistent.

3. Trust God’s provision – Don’t rely on credit for things God can provide.

Practical Step:

• If you’re in debt, start by paying off the smallest debt first and work toward financial freedom.

4. Tithing & Generosity – Putting God First in Your Finances

Many people ask, “Do I really need to tithe?”

Malachi 3:10 says:

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

Tithing isn’t about giving God leftovers—it’s about putting Him first.

Why Tithing Matters:

✔ It shows trust in God’s provision.

✔ It reminds us that everything belongs to Him.

✔ It supports the work of ministry and helps others.

Practical Step:

• Start tithing a percentage of your income (even if it’s not 10% yet) and watch how God provides.

5. The Blessing of Generosity

Giving isn’t just about obedience—it’s about joy.

2 Corinthians 9:7 says:

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

When we give:

✔ We reflect God’s heart – He is a giver! (John 3:16)

✔ We break the grip of greed.

✔ We make a difference in others’ lives.

Generosity isn’t just about money—it’s about:

• Giving your time, encouragement, and resources.

• Helping someone in need, supporting ministries, or blessing a struggling family.

Practical Step:

• Look for one person or cause to bless financially this week.

6. Planning for the Future – Biblical Wisdom on Saving & Investing

God calls us to be wise with our resources.

Proverbs 21:20 says:

“The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.”

Biblical Principles for Saving & Planning:

✔ Save for the future – Emergencies, retirement, and unexpected needs.

✔ Be a faithful provider – For your family (1 Timothy 5:8).

✔ Invest wisely – Seek wisdom before making financial decisions.

Practical Step:

• Start setting aside a small percentage of your income each month for savings.

7. Trusting God as Your Provider

At the end of the day, our security isn’t in money—it’s in God.

Matthew 6:31-33 says:

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

How to Trust God With Your Finances:

✔ Pray before making financial decisions.

✔ Live generously and trust that God will provide.

✔ Surrender financial stress to Him.

Practical Step:

• Each morning, pray: “Lord, I trust You as my Provider. Help me to be wise with what You’ve given me.”

Final Encouragement: Money is a Gift, Not a God

Money is meant to serve you—not control you.

✔ Steward what God has given you well.

✔ Give generously and trust in His provision.

✔ Remember, true wealth is found in Christ—not in a bank account.

So today, ask yourself:

• Am I honoring God with my finances?

• How can I be a better steward of what He has given me?

• Am I trusting Him as my Provider, or trying to handle everything myself?

Because when you manage money God’s way, you don’t just find financial freedom—you find peace, purpose, and the ability to bless others.

I hope today’s episode encouraged you to view money through a biblical lens. If this message spoke to you, share it with someone who might need the same wisdom.

Until next time, keep trusting, keep giving, and remember—when you steward your finances well, God blesses it abundantly.
