Elvis Wedding In Las Vegas
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Vegas has a way of turning a quick trip into a permanent memory, and this one ends with the biggest plot twist possible: we fly out, get married by Elvis, and come home as husband and wife. We walk through the whole Las Vegas wedding story, from the airport mishaps to the limo ride to the Graceland Wedding Chapel ceremony that somehow feels both hilarious and genuinely heartfelt. If you’ve ever wondered whether a Vegas elopement can be stress-free and still feel real, we give you the unfiltered play-by-play.
Then we zoom out to what made the honeymoon hit so hard: the landscapes. We talk Valley of Fire State Park and Red Rock Canyon like the outdoor bucket list stops they are, including petroglyphs, brutal heat that can sneak up on you, and why a scenic loop can be perfect when you want epic views without an all-day hike. We also head to Willow Beach for Colorado River kayaking to Emerald Cave, where the water is so cold it changes your personality, and the cliffs come with surprise wildlife sightings.
Of course, it’s still Las Vegas, so we get into the Mob Museum, Fremont Street, and the street-level lessons you learn fast about hustles, photo traps, and keeping your head on a swivel. We finish with the food and show highlights that make a Vegas honeymoon itinerary complete, including a Peruvian steak dinner at Chica, Gordon Ramsay beef Wellington, Cirque du Soleil Beatles Love, and a comedy night at the Laugh Factory.
If you like this kind of story-driven travel episode, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs a trip, and leave us a review so more people can find the show.
Welcome And Vegas Tease
SPEAKER_06What up? You're listening to Polly on the Pine with Polly Walnuts and Dr. Jones.
SPEAKER_10People say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Well, here at Poly on the Pod, we don't believe in following the rules or superstition. Because two singles left for Vegas and came back as one whole complete spirit. This edition of Polly on the Pod is a very special episode where we discuss the wildness of Vegas, the vast beauty of the land surrounding it, Elvis, and how two people got hitched and came home happier than ever. Please enjoy.
SPEAKER_01This should be played at high volume.
Elvis Wedding Announcement
SPEAKER_07Yo, what is good everybody? Thank you for tuning in. If you don't mind, take this time to like, subscribe, and share the uh the podcast, the Instagram, the channel, the YouTube, all that good stuff. I'd be super stoked. But I couldn't be any more stoked than I am right now. Because I took this time to go out with my partner, my love, my best friend, to the desert, to the middle of nowhere, uh, if you will. Viva Las Vegas, and we got married by Elvis. That's right, everybody. Your boy is off the market. I've married a dime. I don't know how Pauly did it, but Pauly got himself a dime. She's a bad one, and I couldn't be more stoked to introduce to you the world, Mrs. Walnuts. Here she comes.
SPEAKER_14Uh that's right. Here comes the pride. I don't know the rest of the song, but I love you.
SPEAKER_07One more time, ladies and gentlemen. It is the one and only Mrs. Courtney Walnuts. Welcome to the show, babe. Welcome to the show.
SPEAKER_10Hi. Hi. I can't help you with the words to that song either, because that's not what we heard at our wedding. We heard three Elvis songs. Not our choice.
SPEAKER_07Yes, we did hear them. Fool's Russian. But I mean, does this not feel official now that we are broadcasting it to the world and to everybody out here in the uh the podcast universe that we are officially united?
SPEAKER_10We are.
SPEAKER_07I love you.
SPEAKER_10I love you too.
SPEAKER_07Round of applause. That's right. Here she goes. One more time. And we cannot forget the air horn. So, babe. How was your trip to the desert? Because I can tell you, if everybody continues to listen to this episode, what follows is the conversation I had with Doc. As soon as we got back, and I could not explain, um, you know, expand on how much fun I had. It was my first time out there. It was your what?
SPEAKER_10Probably my fifth or sixth time. Yeah. Yeah. But my first time doing desert things for sure.
SPEAKER_07Epic. We talked about that for a while.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, but we packed a lot into four days.
SPEAKER_07A whole heck of a lot. Um
Airport Security Surprise
SPEAKER_07flew in. We uh we checked into our fabulous hotel The Flamingo.
SPEAKER_10Yep. Let's not forget though, what happened in the airport on our way there. We knew it was gonna be a good sign and a good trip.
SPEAKER_07Yes, this is uh you're referring to uh the the fire crotch. No, so normally I always get stopped anytime I go through security. Um, doesn't matter if it's a cruise ship, plane, whatever. I normally they're like, you look suspect. However, this time I was right under the radar, easy peasy, flew right through. However, babe was in nothing but the most skin tight, like gym wear, like very comfortable, but like you had no pockets.
SPEAKER_10Yes, it was like skin on top of my skin.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, nothing to hide. Right. Spandex. And uh that whole thing where you step in and you put your hands above your head, like the cops are telling you to freeze, and then uh it it like swirls around you real quick, and it came out with red alert, red alert in the groin area. And even the lady, what did she say to you?
SPEAKER_10Um, she just kind of laughed because I was like, my vagina lit up like a Christmas tree.
SPEAKER_07Oh, it did. Because it's that fire pussy.
SPEAKER_10That is the truth, but the lady had to chuckle a little bit and then she had to pat me down. She asked me if I wanted to go behind a wall and have privacy. So it was that in depth, but you know.
SPEAKER_07You know, price to pay for being beautiful, I guess. I don't know. They're like, this this bitch is too hot to be riding with this dude. She's gotta be smuggling something in that snatch. No, but uh I I gotta tell you that from the moment that we landed, it was an epic
Flamingo Check In And First Night
SPEAKER_07time. We uh we picked up our rental car. We got to shout out to National. Big shout out. Got to pick out our own car from a whole little lot, and uh, and babe chose a cool little gunmetal gray uh Jeep compass. Yes, the compass was the sportiest looking thing with four-wheel drive, and I gotta tell you, that suited us later in our expedition. Um but we picked that up, then we went and checked into the hotel, smoked a J. Well, we hit the dispensary, smoked a J on first things first, first things first, priority straight, uh, you know. Um, but we we went ahead and hit the the dispensary and then uh hit a little J up on top of the parking garage. Smoke weed every day. Then we headed into the hotel. We dropped off our stuff and then proceeded to explore a little bit. Um the next day we kind of kicked around the hotel, right? And then uh Fremont Street. Oh Mob Museum. Fremont Street and the Mob Museum.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, nigga.
SPEAKER_07It was epic, I gotta tell you. Uh from the moment that we got down there, it's in the old federal courthouse. I believe I I uh I expanded on this in the conversation with Chris, so I'll try not to be too redundant, but yo, it is a little secret. I actually uh went to a client's house today, and they grew up in that area, and they had not been to the mob museum because when they moved from there about 15 years ago, they were talking about like starting it, and they're like, Oh, this is what we're gonna do with the old courthouse, and I and I kept telling him all about it, and I was like, nah, dude, we were in the room where these dudes got prosecuted.
SPEAKER_10Yep. It was epic, it was really cool.
SPEAKER_07The St. Valentine's Day Massacre wall was a highlight because every Valentine's Day I post a picture of that wall with the bodies on my personal Instagram uh at underscore polywalnuts underscore. You can check me out. That's right. Anyway.
Wedding Day Prep And Nerves
SPEAKER_07So the next or that evening
Mob Museum Highlights
SPEAKER_07then was when we got married. When we got married.
SPEAKER_10Such a stress-free, awesome experience.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, now you had a little bit more to do than I did.
SPEAKER_10Right.
SPEAKER_07Obviously, being the bride.
SPEAKER_10I did. I had my hair and makeup done, which I normally never have done for anything. Um, and it was really funny when they came in, you know, they asked, Do you have inspiration photos? What do you want to look like for your wedding? And I was like, I don't have anything, I just want to be pretty. And then I realized like why I wasn't the traditional bride. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_14You make some edibles.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I was like, I'm really stoned. Just make me pretty, you know. So that was kind of a fun experience, but well, babe, you couldn't look bad if you tried. Oh, thank you. I didn't tell him to say that.
SPEAKER_07No, you couldn't.
SPEAKER_10Or pay him. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_07That's why I married you. I don't know how, I don't know how daddy did it, but daddy got it done.
SPEAKER_10I don't know how you did it either.
SPEAKER_07And I'm holding on.
SPEAKER_10Like he said, we hit the dispensary first when I got to Vegas.
SPEAKER_12So she got jokes, everybody.
SPEAKER_07She got jokes. But no, so uh the wedding, I you know, I told Chris a lot about how rad it was, easy, carefree. Um picked up by the limo, went there, had a cool lady check us in, cool dude taking our photos, and obviously the the best fucking Elvis in the world.
SPEAKER_10Wait, did you say cool dude?
SPEAKER_07I said cool lady checking us in, cool dude taking the photos.
SPEAKER_10Are you talking about the photographer with the mohawk?
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_10Oh, okay, cool.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_10Just making sure we were talking about the same person.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. He was uh he was rad.
SPEAKER_10Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_07I don't like getting my picture taken, and that guy had me smiling, so big props to him.
SPEAKER_10Go mohawk metal photo guy at chapel. Woo! Woo!
SPEAKER_07It's a mystery how I was able to uh pause and pose for all of those photos, but I did it. And uh you can go on to the gram, like I said. Check me out. You can go on to my my lovely lady's gram. It's uh currently at what Courtney Bells.
SPEAKER_10Courtney Bells, yes.
SPEAKER_07Yes, at Courtney Bells. It's soon to be changed to at Mrs. Pomeroy.
SPEAKER_10Well, we're not changing the handle because I've had it for a million years.
SPEAKER_07Like I said, it's gonna be at Mrs. Walnuts by the end of today, or my name isn't Polly. I don't give a fuck. We'll discuss this off podcast. Sounds good. No, um I was super stoked. I was I was pretty pushy. We got back from our trip, which we did a lot of exploring, and I was really kind of pushy about babe, we gotta do the podcast, we gotta do the podcast, and so I sat down with Chris right away because he came over, he was super stoked and happy, and uh you weren't ready to sit down, and so I apologize for being pressure, pressure filled, a pressure pot, pressure cooker, um, if you will. It's okay. And I and I thank you for sitting down.
SPEAKER_10You're welcome. You know, I just had to get over the jet lag, and planes make my back hurt, and it was a rough ride home, too.
SPEAKER_07Which is funny because I didn't feel good on the ride out there, and you said the planes weren't that bad. They weren't. And on the way back, I was like, I'm gravy, baby. And you were like, I'm so jet lagged, that was awful. And I'm like,
Mob Museum And Fremont Plans
SPEAKER_07I guess, because you called me a bad travel partner. I said, no, no, no. Oh, you're still talking about it. Nope, I'm not a bad travel partner. You're a bad travel partner. I just didn't feel so good.
SPEAKER_13My tummy said, And you know, I got a sensitive tummy.
SPEAKER_10Listen, I try to joke sometimes, and then I forget I even said things, and he remembers it for the rest of our lives. Yeah, because I get butthurt. Paul is a bad traveler, by the way.
SPEAKER_07I'm the best fucking traveler. Don't ever forget it. So after the mob museum, after getting married, um, we did a couple of days of outdoor
Valley Of Fire Feels Like Mars
SPEAKER_07things. First day Valley of Fire. That was amazing. Was absolutely fucking fire.
Jet Lag And Travel Partner Roast
SPEAKER_07It was. I mean, tell me what you what what what was your because we we drove through that valley, like through that road, and then we came open into the valley. What was your first impression?
SPEAKER_10I mean, I felt like I was on a different planet. It looks like what I imagined Mars would look like for sure. Um the thing is, like, uh we get excited about small things like dirt and rocks. Yeah, we do. We were in heaven. We were and nobody cares about it, but we think it's great. I'm like, there's sand, it's amazing. It's the desert sand.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, we uh special. We brought back a bag of red sand, and we brought back a bag of rocks.
SPEAKER_10We did. And uh we just currently moved into our first home together, and let me tell you, there was a lot of rocks to go through when Paul and I moved in together. And bones. And bones, and keys. Oh god, the shells. Shells. Yes, he is a nature hoarder.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, nature hoarder. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm a nature hoarder. Yes, I love that. That is uh the new uh that is the new, I guess, coin like I'm coining the phrase, I'm a nature hoarder. I'm not a nature whore, I'm a nature hoarder.
SPEAKER_10Well, every time you use it, you have to kick me back some money.
SPEAKER_07That's right. Because, you know, baby's about that doll. Uh ching. Yep. No, so after the Valley of Fire, uh, which I did a little bouldering, climbed up some cool little sandstone structures, and we saw some um wildlife as well. Saw a choquala the desert iguana. Um, we saw a kangaroo rat. We saw an antelope squirrel. Um, and then uh another a rock monitor. Excuse me. Um but yeah, that was really, really cool. Some old petroglyphs. Next day went to uh Red Rock Canyon, which we almost skipped.
SPEAKER_10Wait, what did we do the night of Valley of Fire?
Beatles Love And Birthday Dinner
SPEAKER_10We saw the Circus Soleil show.
SPEAKER_07Yes, Beatles Love.
SPEAKER_10So good.
SPEAKER_07Epic.
SPEAKER_10Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_07Loved it.
SPEAKER_10I mean, I fell asleep a little bit, but you woke me up.
SPEAKER_07Well, yeah, we had a long day. The one thing that kept me awake and both uh engaged, if you will, was the fucking shithead teenagers behind me that when they put the sheet over the whole crowd, yeah, and they're like, don't grab the sheet, you know, like it'll, you know, cause problems for the show. And these fuckers grab the sheet and they're like ripping it up and down, bouncing off your boy's tall ass head.
SPEAKER_10See, I liked the part with the sheet because I could close my eyes and no one would notice.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I was ready to turn around and fucking scare the shit out of these little douchebags. But you know what? Um we uh we didn't have to go ahead and pull out the big guns.
SPEAKER_10You didn't have to do that.
SPEAKER_07Didn't have to do that.
SPEAKER_10That was my birthday, by the way.
SPEAKER_07That's right.
SPEAKER_10Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_07It was happy birthday to you.
SPEAKER_10We had an amazing dinner at a Peruvian restaurant.
SPEAKER_07We talked about this Chica.
SPEAKER_10Chica in the Venetian.
SPEAKER_07Yep.
SPEAKER_10Wonderful.
SPEAKER_07$165, tomahawk.
SPEAKER_10So the menu didn't list the prices. So I'm reading through it and I was like, babe, you should get the cowboy steak. He's like, yeah, that sounds good.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, she knows her boy. You know what I mean? I like a good steak.
SPEAKER_10$165.
SPEAKER_07Later.
SPEAKER_10Later. Hey, best damn steak ever.
SPEAKER_07Um, we did hit uh my lady is a big fan of Gordon Ramsay. Sir Chef Gordon Ramsay.
SPEAKER_10I like him.
SPEAKER_09He's a good dude.
SPEAKER_07I dug him too, like all of his shows. I love when he roasts the fuck out of these incompetent fools, and I gotta tell you that goddamn beef wellington. I keep talking about it from the pastry. I'm like, and then the way the the the beef, it was so tender, and it just melted. And the in the Bordeson sauce, it was just amazing. It was wonderful. Yeah, I'm getting very mouthwatery again.
SPEAKER_10I was thinking about it actually behind the chair when I was doing my client today, and I'm like, I cannot stop thinking about this Wellington.
SPEAKER_07God damn welly. It was worth all damn it, Gordon. Yep. So I can tell you when we return, we'll be going for the desert and the wellington.
SPEAKER_10Um not the gambling for Paul.
SPEAKER_07Your boy, your boy doesn't do too well with the electronic gambling. All right. So it's it's kind it's kind of sad. It it really is uh not the best. Empty pockets.
SPEAKER_10Mine were full.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_10I stuck $5 in a machine and it like lit up to $50, and I just was like, this is a great day.
SPEAKER_07On a penny slot, she put five dollars in and then $150 off that 50 cent bet. I mean, if that isn't I don't know what the fuck is. Bottom line.
SPEAKER_10Right?
SPEAKER_07So yeah, we kept and I was like, babe, we're moving to another one. Keep it with the hot with the with the hot tables, you know? No, we actually neither of us sat down at a table. We just kind of ex I felt like we did it right. Like we really did experience Vegas to the max.
SPEAKER_10We did, and it was so fun because we did our nature things, which we love so much during the day, and then at night we would kind of go do a show. We did the laugh factory, the laugh factory, yeah. Famous laugh factory.
SPEAKER_07Daphnique Springs was hilarious. Kevin McCaffrey was a feature in uh Mimi. I'm not I can't not remember her last name. She was the host. God damn it, they were hilarious. Um, two African American women, you know, with with a with a skinny white dude sandwiched in between them. I'm telling you what, it was it was primed for a good time and we enjoyed it to the max. Um yeah, so what
Kayaking Emerald Cave And Cold Shock
SPEAKER_07shoot. Oh, oh, then we went to uh Willow Branch or Willow Beach.
SPEAKER_10Oh, we kayaked the um Colorado River, right?
SPEAKER_07Yep, that's it's that's the Colorado River. Yep, Emerald Cave. Very cold, very cold. Yeah, I I touched on that. I was like, you know, Alex, a shout out to my my brother Alex Pomeroy Fitness on the gram. Woo! He yep, whoop, whoop. He won, he he warned me about it. I did not believe him. I'm like, whatever. I come snorkeling the springs all year round. I don't care. I don't need a wetsuit, blah, blah, blah. And then I jumped in and I was like, oh fuck, my nuts were in my throat. I waited around for a little bit in the shallows, and my toes were getting numb. I was like, no, this is not like the springs at all.
SPEAKER_10Nope. It was even colder than that.
SPEAKER_07And then there were bighorn sheep. Bighorn sheep. On the cliffs.
SPEAKER_10That was the day before we were.
SPEAKER_07Dorothy, we're not in Kansas anymore.
SPEAKER_10No.
SPEAKER_07I thought I knew what kayaking was.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, kayaking the river is definitely different than kayaking uh the springs here. I definitely was tired that day because we had done so much before we got to that point.
SPEAKER_07So I mean, I didn't call you out on it on that day, but I'm gonna call you out now.
SPEAKER_10Well, I was gonna call myself out if I think if you're gonna say what I think.
SPEAKER_07All damn well, like I'm trying to avoid the crowds of people, right? So I'm like the strongest paddlers on the river, babe. No one can stop us. And I'm paddling hard. And meanwhile, I'm in the back. We're in a tandem kayak. So I'm watching her the entire time. And I'm like, this bitch ain't paddling fruit. She's not paddling at all. But you know, of course.
SPEAKER_10I was paddling, but it was pretend paddling.
SPEAKER_07Oh no, I saw when you dipped him in, you're like, uh just I'm paddling, babe. I'm helping you. And there was even one point where I almost lost my temper and I was like, 'cause we had to navigate. You don't okay, the fact that you didn't pick up on this means I'm winning. Best husband ever. Wait. So at one point we got to like, I'm I'm tired. We're like, you had to battle the current upriver. To get to this cave and everything. So we go upriver, we find our little nook, we're eating our sandwich and our snacks and everything, regroup and everything, blah, blah. So I need actual help and like maneuvering the boat. It's not just paddling it upriver against the stream or downriver with the the current. It is literally like I can't turn without your help. And I'm like, hey babe, can you like we're going left? We're going left. And I thought you might not have heard my my voice, but this clearly confirms you didn't, which makes me feel better because at one point I thought you were just being like, fuck you. Steer me, paddle boy. Like, because like you literally, you like put the paddle in first one and then two, and then like did completely opposite of what I asked, and put the paddle down. And I just literally was like, or not, I don't care. I'll just steer us where we need to go. And I just kept paddling. And I'm so glad you didn't hear that.
SPEAKER_10That sounds like a good idea to me. That would have probably been a I probably would not have gotten late that night. Well, I, you know, I was laughing because I heard you say after we left that day um that you had, you know, quite the upper body workout. And I was like, no shit, dummy. I was like, because your girl wasn't doing any work. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, she wasn't doing any work.
SPEAKER_10I was like, I'm sure you did.
SPEAKER_07No, and then uh that was an amazing day, obviously.
Tandem Kayak Work Imbalance
SPEAKER_10When did we do our couples massage?
Couples Massage Sticker Shock
SPEAKER_10Our $400 couples massage. Everything in Vegas is like, you know.
SPEAKER_07That was over $400.
SPEAKER_10That was insane. And it was for a 50-minute $460 with the tips for us to get a massage that I probably had here in Jacksonville, but rubbed down.
SPEAKER_07It was in a spa in Las Vegas, so now and then I that's what she was all like, I'm ready to go back to the room. I'm like, I just fucking paid so much, and they close at five. I'm gonna use every fucking piece of this spa, goddamn it goes.
SPEAKER_10Okay, okay, I don't paddle and I want to go back to the room. We get it.
SPEAKER_07No, I sat down. It was actually really nice. They had a cold hot tub. That's an acronym or a hominem pseudonym, one of them NEMs. It was an antonym. I don't know. It was You're running out of options. It was it was a tub that looked like a hot tub that was bubbling, but it was cold. And then they had a warm tub, and then they had a hot tub at like 104 degrees, and I was like, fucking put me in the hot tub, baby. Boil your boy. I just got rubbed down by some foreign guy named Alex with some head tattoos, fucking slapped me in that hot spa. He was cool, he was super dope, dude. He was red, and then I I I met you, and I was all like, yo, so your boy is not classy. Blue collar, all right? I think everybody knows this. So I go into this spa that is like five star, and they tell me clothing is optional, and I have to text Courtney, and I'm like, babe, they said, like, are you getting naked? Like, I don't know what this is my first couples. I've had a massage, but I've been like in my baggies and everything. So I I end up like not getting a response from her because she's already like I was naked. No, she was already robed and on her way to our room, and I'm like in there with anxiety. Like, oh my god, do I get naked? Like, how many naked people have been in this robe that I'm about to put on from the hotel? Like, all of these fucking weird things.
SPEAKER_10The robes were clean, but a lot of naked people have been there before. Yes.
SPEAKER_07Yes, I'm I'm aware. So, so I just for fear of me showing up to this couple's massage and dude being like, okay, lay down on the table, and me throwing this robe off and being completely fucking ballsacked naked. I just went ahead and left my baggies on until we got to the room. And then they introduced themselves and everything. They're like, Oh, cool, blah blah blah, I'll be massaging you, da da da da you, da.
SPEAKER_08And Paul's like, Y'all don't gotta wear clothes here. I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_07Pretty much I was like, Well, y'all get bucked naked up in this bitch. Yeah! Let's get it. So, uh yeah, the southern man and me came out and I said, We going down to the skibbies, baby. And uh, your boy let the tally whacker fly.
SPEAKER_10For them hot stones, boy.
SPEAKER_07For them hot stones. Oh.
SPEAKER_10It was good. It was really nice after such a long day.
SPEAKER_07It was really nice. Um we got Bony Boy up here.
SPEAKER_10Our dogs are hiding. Well, one is not. One is hiding.
SPEAKER_07We had a thunderstorm here while we were doing this, but uh yeah, I think uh between this conversation and uh the latter, I think everybody can uh say they live vicariously through us for this Vegas
Home Life Love And Gratitude
SPEAKER_07trip. Um I think Courtney can verify that I got a little weepy-eyed when Chris read his best man speech on the phone.
SPEAKER_10Yes, it was very special.
SPEAKER_07Which you will hear if you stay tuned to this episode. But anyway. I love you all. I love my wife, I love the adventure that we had, I love my dogs and my children, and I could not be more stoked to share my life and all these adventures with you. Um Mrs. Walnut. Welcome to the show.
SPEAKER_10Thank you, Mr. Walnut.

SPEAKER_14Off the market.
SPEAKER_06Oh man, he is gone. Ladies, we are sorry, but not sorry, okay? And here's what's happening. We are gonna talk about what happened out there. But most importantly, we are going to talk about my man's excursion on leaving the market and preparing for the best life he's ever gonna live. Congratulations, my dog. Let's get into it.
SPEAKER_07Appreciate it. Don't know how I did it, but Polly gotta die.

Yep, get kicked it around um Vegas kind of the first couple days, but then we got into uh a few days of really getting outside and exploring uh Nevada's amazing, beautiful, yeah, just breathtaking landscape. Um the desert, we went to the Valley of Fire, we went to uh Red Rocks Canyon in the Mojave Desert. Um, we went to Willow Beach, Arizona as well, and went and uh kayaked the Colorado River. It was epic. Um it truly was. It was uh checking some bucket list places off, you know what I mean, that I've always wanted to go as a kid. Um my first time out to Vegas.
SPEAKER_06Um it was Have you ever been that far out west before?
SPEAKER_07Uh been to Denver and and Salt Lake City. Okay, okay, all right.
Mob Museum History Deep Dive
SPEAKER_07But uh yeah, you know, that's obviously north. So I I had an idea of what I was getting into. Um but no anyway, uh just starting off, we uh like I said, we checked into the hotel, we kind of kicked it around. Oh, we went to the mob museum. The mob museum. The mob museum. It was uh it was it was it was pretty pretty sick. We saw Lanyan Clyde? Uh no, I mean it was basically like well, no, they they were they were criminals, but they were connected to the mafia. Bugsy Siegel was though. Yeah, Bugsy. So he owned the flamingo at one point in time, yeah. And he was uh murdered in his mistress uh Virginia Hills um apartment. But it was tight because uh they had all sorts of stuff. They touched on um just crazy like all the different mafias. It was mainly like real heavy in the Irish, Jewish, and Italian mafias because that was really like in organized crime syndicates. I mean, there really was only one mafia, but you know in case anybody was wondering the Jews made the most money. There was there were Irish gangs in New York, in Philly, and Jersey, and all the, you know, I mean there was there was Jewish gangs, there was Italian gangs, but the mafia, you know, there was the black hand, which they touched on, um, and then and then obviously La Costa Nostra, um, which is the mafia. The mafia. Our Tingman. But uh Mafiosa. It touched on like all the different kind of eras, and basically like you gotta learn some family history. It yeah, it was pretty you know. I well, I mean, a lot of it I already knew, and that's all I was like kind of telling us like, oh, this is you know, Bonino soup, babe. You have no idea. Like this was this was the guy. Um no, but they had they had the the bricks from the uh St. Valentine's Day massacre. Oh shit.
SPEAKER_06That's what I was about to bring up, dude. It was the St. Valentine's Day one, dude. It was cool because you you walked in.
SPEAKER_07Oh shit. And they got like, you know, they got little red paint, you know. So and there's a cool thing because like a screen comes down in front of the wall and they show you a whole like little like three-minute documentary about it, and then it lifts up and it like shows you like these are the bricks. This was the wall that he These are the bricks, and it was basically um, you know, Capone's gang who he was still he wasn't like the the the boss at the time, he was he was like a capo, but it was it was their syndicate that was taking out these Irish guys. And he made his capo look like they are police officers arresting the Irish gang. Exactly. They had cops kind of lure, you know, like they they baited them there with a um a hijacked, you know, truck full of alcohol. Um because it's darn prohibition error case y'all weren't aware. Correct, and that's how they were making all of their cash and uh well most of it, 90% of it. Cocaine and heroin was not a thing at this point. Not not yet, but um no, so yeah, so they they baited them with a truck that had apparently you know that supposedly been stolen, lured this uh this Irish syndicate um rival, you know, gang in there, right? Then they had these guys dressed as cops come in and act like it was a raid. And so they had all the guys against the wall, against these these bricks, like hands up, completely like disarmed, and uh two guys came in with the Tommy guns and uh lit them up. That's how the Tommy gun actually got famous. Yeah, the Thompson submachine gun, which they had when there they had all sorts of cool memories.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, the 100-round clip, dude, because Tommy Gun was the first gun that had a hundred-round clip.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, they had the drum and they had the stick clips. Uh they they had uh the bullet from Jack Ruby's gun that killed Lee Harvey Oswald. It was sick, it was pretty tight.
SPEAKER_06We all know that Lee Harvey Oswald did not actually kill JFK, just in case anybody was wondering. We all know that. That's that's common knowledge.
SPEAKER_07Well, the the well they touched on that the mob basically put JFK in uh in in in office, which he did, which was well known, they wanted him in there, but then it went south because his brother, RFK, became the attorney general, I believe. And he was a man. And then he went after the mob. Yep. Um and they were like, wait, we put you in here, guy. Um hey, hey, buddy, hey guy. But it but the museum is in the old federal courthouse of Las Vegas. Oh shit. So at one point in time, you actually go into the courtroom where a lot of these mobsters were prosecuted. If you sit down and watch a video, it was it was sick, dude. We kicked it around for a while. Dude, that's rad as fuck. Yeah, so so we did that, and that's not far from uh Fremont Street.
SPEAKER_06Um, and everybody knows Fremont Street is old Vegas. Old Vegas, it was lit, which and that's where all the shit's going down, and uh Skankfest is gonna be there coming soon.
SPEAKER_07Oh yeah. I mean it's definitely like it's pretty epic. It was funny. I showed uh my oldest Ophelia uh the you know, a video of the strip that I took and like how it's got the shade, you know, over the middle arch, and it's just basically video boards all lit up, and she was like, Oh, that looks like some Japanese thing in their city, and I'm like, We did it first, baby. But you know, you see like all the crazy lights, especially like you know what I mean. It was like, yeah, I guess, yeah, it kind of looks like something, but nope, that's Vegas.
SPEAKER_06Times Square and Vegas did it
Old Vegas Energy On Fremont
SPEAKER_06before Tokyo could, I promise you that. Yep. And I've said this a million times. Tokyo got their shit together after we bombed them after Hiroshima. I'm just saying, alright? I'm just that's neither here nor there. But continue, my friend.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so um I I had never uh eaten at an in and out burger. You you never had the in and outs until uh until this trip, which uh your boy got him uh cheeseburger animal style.
SPEAKER_06You went animal?
SPEAKER_07And that was You went single paddy or double? I went single because I was You're a coward? No, I was saving myself. Bro, there was five star I wait till I tell you about the food that I ate. We went to five-star restaurants like every night. We were like, that's all I was like, I do not want to ruin my dinner. I just came from hiking in the desert. I need a little sustenance. Oh no, you needed a whole sustenance. No, it was perfect. But um, no, that was amazing. I was like, yo, come to Florida. We need you. It was the best hamburger we've got.
SPEAKER_06We've just finally got a Wild Ross, dude.
SPEAKER_07In N Out's next. Right? We need that in our life. Shoutouts to In N Out. Uh if you want to sponsor us, we're here, probably on the pod. Yo, so one funny thing that I did uh notice was they've got a gas station um called Terribles.
SPEAKER_06You know what's funny? I think when I was in Arizona, I seen a terribles when I was in Phoenix.
SPEAKER_07It's like a gate or like a Hess, or I guess there's no longer Hess, it's all speedway now, whatever. But you know what I mean? Like a shell, but it's called Terribles, and it's just really funny hearing the commercials and seeing it, and it's like, well, I'm just gonna run to Terribles real quick. Hope it's not terrible.
SPEAKER_06Um get a pack of cigarettes, honey. But I did see something. Where did Dad go? He went to Terribles, he never came back.
SPEAKER_07Yo, so we were in a we were in this gas station, terribles, near um near where we were staying, and we went in there, what you know, got some coffee one morning, and it was like right as the graveyard shift dude was leaving. And I can't remember what he was saying, but he was like riffing to himself and his like sister worked there apparently. Or no, no, he was going home to his sister, that's right. And he was riffing with an employee that was there, and so he's like grabbing like a Mike's hard lemonade, like the super tall one out. He's like, I gotta get drunk before I go home and deal with my sister. He's like, because I'll get home and she'll say shit like, hey, honey, and I'm like, Nope, still your brother.
SPEAKER_06She's acting like it's Kentucky or West Virginia in that bitch. God damn.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, the guy was all like, Yeah, I came here 36 years ago for the beer and gambling and I ain't left yet. And I was like, God damn it. So that was a little wild. So the next morning I go there, uh, because I get a little skate on, an early skate on while uh while my beautiful wife was uh was still sleeping, and uh I got some coffee, and as I'm like getting coffee, the the guy's like so I pull up, there's already cops outside dealing with something. Okay, all right, okay. And they don't have like the straight across flashing lights, they've got the like multiple dome lights on top that actually spin around in a circle.
SPEAKER_06They still got spinner lights? Yeah, the spinning lights are. So on a brand new SUV. That is wild. It was really weird. That's why I kept pointing.
In N Out And Terribles Stories
SPEAKER_06Have all the money in the world, right? And they're still fucking around with 70 technology.
SPEAKER_07It was kind of funny. So anyway, they were dealing with something outside there. They had something uh they had they had some situation they were dealing with. Someone was, you know, the extra dirty looking homeless person that was completely wasted was in cuffs on the ground. So I go inside, and as I'm pouring my coffee, some lady is like going out the door, and the clerk's like, No, no, no, you gotta pay for that. And she's like, What? I just got ice, what, what? And like giving him a bunch of attitude, and he's like, No, you didn't. I watched you fill that up. And even there, there's a big sign that says, Ice isn't free, it's 75 cents, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And they're going back and forth.
SPEAKER_06She's like a desert, so ice costs different.
SPEAKER_07Right. So, anyway, this is like the big mug, like it has a handle on it, but it's got like the top, you know what I mean? Like, yeah, like 44 ounce or whatever it is. And uh, and he's like, pour it upside down, because she's like, I ain't even got nothing in here. I just rinsed it out. I just rinsed it out, and so he's like, Pour it, and so she like barely tips it, like 10 degrees, like not at all. He's like, Pour it! He's like, tip it upside down, and so she tips it barely a little bit more, not even halfway, and all this soda just starts pouring out of it on the floor, right? And so, like, it's so anyway, so that's going down, and then she comes over in uh and slaps some change down because he busts her. He's like, See, I told you, and the mind the police are out right outside the doors at this point. Don't give ten fuck. She must have been a middle child, dude. She don't play no shit. She did not care. So then she proceeds outside, you know, after slapping the change down, wasn't even the right amount of change. So the guy's just like laugh, like we're all just like laughing. I'm like, holy shit. Lady, this is 17 cents. I'm like, Vegas, Vegas is lit. It's like eight o'clock in the morning, and these people are going wild. He's heating up. So I step outside, I make it outside of the terribles at this time, and there is a uh a clerk that's going in for her shift in the morning, and she's like walking in, she's telling lady, you can't park there. You know, because lady, I guess, tried to park in the parking spot and walk next door to this little liquor store casino, like really like sketchy looking thing right next door. And she's like, You can't park there. So I watched the lady get in her car and she pulls out of the parking space and pulls up to the gas pump and proceeds to get out of her car, leave her car at the gas pump, and then try to walk out of the parking lot. And so the clerk that just was walking in, I guess, walked in the door and just waited to see, watch her. So she comes back out again and she's hollering at her and she's hollering here. And the homegirl that stole the drink is just sitting on the curb outside drinking or like stolen something. And the cops are right there dealing with this now dirty-looking hippie who's just making noises at the top of his lungs. And I was like, I was like, holy shit, Vegas is lit. It's 8 30.
SPEAKER_06Dude, yesterday I went to Walwass to go pick up some cigarettes. And uh, as soon as I get out of my grandmother's car, she says, My car's broken down, don't judge me. And uh I get out with my car and I I have a cane, and there's a guy sitting there at the bench, and he's got a fucking sling on. Definitely looks like a hobo because he's got his backpack with him. Uh-huh. And I was like, okay, this is gonna be something. I already know this. I go inside, I go to get cigarettes, forgot my wallet in the car, so I go back to get my wallet. As I'm going back to get my wallet, he's like, hey, sir, sir, sir, excuse me, sir, sir, sir. Hey, hey, pardon me, pardon me, dude. Hey, hey, buddy, hey, buddy, hey, friend old pal. I was like, okay, all right, dude. That's a lot. I was like, what, dude? And he was like, uh, do you have uh like a change or a dollar or anything like that? I was like, no, man, and I'm more handicapped than you are. Fuck off. So I proceeded to go into the car and get my wallet, crutch back like past him again, stare him dead in his eyes, right into the windows of his soul. Broke him, dude. Broke him. He started.
SPEAKER_07The trick is right before they ask you for money is you ask them for money. Um, but anyway, back back to Vegas. Um I'm gonna I'm gonna pull up some Instagram stuff for every um, you know, to show to show Chris. Um if anybody out there would like to check the visuals of what we are talking about, um, the personal Instagram is at underscore polywalnuts underscore. So pretty easy. Go check it out. But um, no, so anyway, that was my terribles experience. Um I will say walking around all through Vegas, um everybody on the street there.
Street Hustles And Photo Scams
SPEAKER_07If you've never been there before, stay on your toes. They seem real nice. It reminded me of one when I went to Europe in the sense that like a guy offered to buy it or to take our picture, my family when we were in front of the Coliseum, right? Oh, he stole the phone? No, no, this was before like this was like 2000. Oh, so he stole the Kodiak. No, so yeah, so this was like a camera camera. Um no, but he like he was like, Hey, you want me to take your picture? Because we were doing like a selfie with the thing, blah, blah. We're like, oh yeah, sure. It was like nice local guy. So he takes our family photo and then he like, yeah, tries to get like a hundred euro out of out of my dad. And my dad's like, but and then he like won't give the camera back, so my dad's like on the verge of beating his ass. So anyway, this is similar to that, and the fact that there are a lot of people out there that'll like gas you up and be like, yo, vacation, or be like hot mama, like, you know, because if your girl's looking good walking next to you, um, there's like showgirls out on the strip, and they'll be like, oh yo, just take a picture with me, and then they'll be like, all right, that's 3652, thank you. Yeah, and then you'll be like, you'll be like, well, no, you asked to take a picture with me. I was just walking, and they'll be like, okay, now it's 4538. It's going up, poppy. Like, I'm gonna keep walking, saying, No, hey yeah. I'm like, yo, and it's the same. Now I'll show you right here these guys. Uh, I have not checked them out yet. Uh Bickeron? Yeah. So they're apparently uh a little trio. They do stand-up comedy and they do like hip hop, right? So they hit me with their little hustle on the street and they're like, yo, what's good? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, chilling, Vegas, vacation, honeymoon, and blah, blah.
SPEAKER_06Right.
SPEAKER_07So being that I'm doing my thing, they're trying to do their thing, I'm like, I'll show you a little love. They give me this or like any kind of donation. So I what'd you toss them? 20. Toss them 20 bucks. I was like, you know what?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, because I was just feeling generous. You respect the hustle, you know what they're up to. They're trying to do their thing. Right. Just as if we were out there doing the same kind of thing, like, this is our podcast. Uh, here's a sticker. Yeah, really.
SPEAKER_07Donation help. No, they presented me with like a digital download and an actual old school like uh CD for me to like something in my hand tangible. We're like, here's a sticker, 20 bucks.
SPEAKER_06No computer still has a fucking CD player anymore.
SPEAKER_07I'll tell you that. No, they don't. But anyway, so but it was just funny because then they hit me with the whole uh, well, there's three of us, so like you could break us off a couple of 20s, and I'm like, nah, player, like you're lucky you're getting one. And he was like, but there's okay, you can't just break us off with a 10. I'm like, look at him with that I don't even have to say anything. I hit him, I hit him with that like, motherfucker, you better be grateful for. I snatched my money back out of your hand. Look, and he was just like, nah, Pauly, man, I appreciate you, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So I was like, I was like, yo, I was like, I got a podcast, and I told him what was up. And I was like, We're gonna, we're gonna check out your shit, and we're either gonna get a little bit more. We're gonna do it live. We're gonna do it live, or we're gonna roast it. Oh shit. We're not doing it today.
SPEAKER_06We'll do it next one. Oh, I've lived my entire life for that very moment, dude. Oh, and they do stand-up comedy, you're getting wrecked, son. Yo, damn.
SPEAKER_07I hope y'all listen to this. Yeah, so anyway, um, no, I just uh if uh I told him that you're either gonna get props or you're gonna get roasted to fucking hell and back. So either way, uh chosen ENT. Um we will be checking y'all out soon. But uh Did you tell your boy that's stand up too? Oh yeah, I told them about what we did, and it was kind of cool. I mean, they were they were straight. I saw them later on. I actually saw them the next day when I was walking around like we were crossing over to go to Caesars and they and they uh um they gave me the nod, what's up? But when I was walking back that same day, they like hollered, they seen me and they were like, Paul Lee, thanks again for the support. So I was like, okay, these are these are cool dudes. All right, I I I respect the hustle. Um But I mean they tried they tried to fucking flag you though. Oh yeah. So I'm just all my friends, if you haven't been out there, just approach it like you know, all there's a bunch of street performers, there's a bunch of people out there gassing you up. Even if you're just walking through the casinos, there's like all these little boutiques and salons, and they'll be like, Oh, mommy, you look so beautiful. Here, let me give you this. And it's like a little sample, and they then will be like, okay, it's like $32.99. And I'm sorry that I'm making all these women sound Hispanic, but actually all of the ones, okay. Yeah, they're I mean, it's in the desert, not far from Mexico. I don't know.
SPEAKER_06It's not racist if it's correct, okay, people.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, oh, but dude, there's you know, they even got you gotta watch out because those Chippendale dudes, bro. Chippendales? They're out there. Were they diddling you, dude? They're out there. You get diddle? They're out, no, but they're out there shirtless. You get diddled by Uncle Dale? They're out there shirtless and uh and with their cowboy boots and hat. Did you almost lose your wife? No.
SPEAKER_06She didn't want none of them. Look at me. I'm a prime specimen.
SPEAKER_07But there's like two or three of the guys, but then there's like two chicks that are all in the same outfit, all hanging with the Chippendales, but they got like chains and whips. Oh. Yeah. And so they'll like you'll get whipped. I did it. Yeah, and my girl and uh Courtney was just like, we just got married, and she's like, Yeah, it was a Hispanic chick. And she was like, You better love her forever, puppy. And I'm just like, You get 32 whips. And she and she hit me like she had like a little mock cat of nine tails, you know what I'm saying? Like a little play one, and she like like as I walked by. But it was funny as shit because we were just sitting out there.
SPEAKER_06$87, Puppy.
SPEAKER_07I watched, I watched her completely force this little uh older Asian woman into motorboating her, and the Asian woman loved it. Like it was just it was adult shit. Cleared a dream, dude. Everybody was having fun, it was cool, so I definitely
Valley Of Fire Photo Tour
SPEAKER_07recommend it. Um man, I gotta go to Vegas. Yeah, so uh the flamingo. I know I've heard there are much nicer hotels and casinos out there. No, the flamingo is dope though, dude. It's legendary. Yeah, it's old Vegas, dude. It was owned by Bugsy. Um, you know, just I I the man who technically really created Vegas. One of them. I mean, one of them. He was I mean, it was a whole bunch of people, but uh if you've never seen the move the movie Casino, I recommend it. Yeah, uh Casino's a good movie. Yeah, no, we ended up watching, oh, we went to uh the Laugh Factory. I'm kind of getting ahead of myself, but we went to the Trial Picanas. So we went in most all the casinos, like we went in uh uh one of the MGM ones, which is uh New York, New York. Um we went in that one and and went around and and and got some food and chilled. We went uh obviously to Caesars. Um we went to the Venetian, um, that's where we ate dinner one night. Uh we went to the Mirage and saw Cirque de Soleil, the Beatles Love.
SPEAKER_06Ooh, okay.
SPEAKER_07It was epic. Um sounds like it. Yeah, we uh we hit a lot of them, um, which was cool, you know, just seeing all of Vegas. But honestly, man, the highlight of it all for me, um I would definitely say is that the what is obviously my my marriage, my wedding. We got married by Elvis. But of all of the events we did and sites we saw was all the excursions. Um the first outdoor day we did Valley of Fire, which if you go on my uh personal Instagram, like I said, at underscore polywalnuts underscore, you can check it out. Um it it's pretty sick. So it's actually Nevada's first state park. Um you whoops that is a picture of them next to the limousine. No, okay, there we go. Technical difficulties, like I said, wouldn't be poly on the pod without it. So anyway, this is a pretty badass cactus. Obviously, you see the sand is like super red in all of like the the sandstone. So when you come around, um you get on this long dirt road and you're just like driving into the desert for like a hot minute, and then it kind of loops around like this smaller mountain-ish, and you kind of come down into the valley and you watch everything go from really like tan kind of sand to turn like red. Like, bro, it looks like it felt like we were driving into Mars. And so that was pretty cool uh picture, I think. Yep. Um there's oh that's a beautiful picture, dude. Yeah, so we went on who's holding the camera there. There was uh we were we passed some people and we did the whole like you want us, they were resting, you want us to take a photo, blah blah blah, we'll we'll take yours. Um yeah, nice, nice. This was a pretty tough hike, man. It was like 112. Um and it's really dry. Yeah, it's not like here where you feel yourself sweat and you can gauge how much you need to drink water. Um, there it was almost like I didn't realize a couple of times how dehydrated I was getting because I was barely sweating.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, no, uh in Phoenix it was kind of the same way. So I I completely understand.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and being that I'm you know a sweaty, a sweaty, you know, Italian dude. Like I sweat a lot, so it was like I'm like, oh, I'm fine out here. Motherfucker jerks from his earlobes. Yeah, dude, for real. Um that was that was kind of weird, but it this was a pretty tough little, you know, semi-strenuous hike through this area. I can't this was called White Domes Um Trailhead. Yeah. And because where we went at, it was these big like sandstone kind of domes that were the only real white sandstone in the valley. Um, so this picture, you know, your boy used to look you're on top of a T-Rex, blood boy. Yeah, so your boy is into uh rock.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, look at that one right next to right to the side of you.
SPEAKER_07It definitely looks like a T-Rex jaw. Yeah. So I uh used I I was into rock climbing for a long time, and uh so I totally took the opportunity to boulder. So I climbed up the top of this dude, and uh as soon as I got up here right after this photo, I stood up and I looked over there. Did you see right there?
SPEAKER_06Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_07That's a chokwala. It's uh it's a species of desert iguana right there. I got a better picture of him coming up. Um but yeah, it was pretty tight.
SPEAKER_06Uh so this was just like chalk out to get up there, or you just do it barehand?
SPEAKER_07No, I didn't take any of my climbing gear this trip, which I was really bummed after going there because I even told Courtney's never really been climbing before. I was like, even we could we could have hiked up, anchored, and repelled down. Because I've got two harnesses, plenty of rope. I've got you know all the all the gear still. Right. Um but next trip out west, um out to Nevada, definitely taking it. Um, because like this, I shimmied up there a little bit. This was a really sick overlook. It doesn't Whoa, dude, that's rad. Holy cow. Yeah, Sierra Nevada Mountains out in the background and stuff. This was really, really high. And what was cool about it was it was kind of a steep pitch that you could hike up the ones.
SPEAKER_06This beard looks impeccable, I'll be honest with you. Thank you. The best thing about that picture, a rock's cute, all right? Mountain in the back, cute. Fucking that beard. Woo wee!
SPEAKER_07Yes, sir. I appreciate it. Yeah, nigga. No, that's my boy Lenny the Barber. Check him out at Lenny the Barber. He's the front man for the Doomsday Rejects as well. Shout outs to uh to the band and to my guy because he had me looking sharp for the wedding.
SPEAKER_06Oh, dude, I remember right before you left. You're like, dude, I have a top lip. I'm like, are you serious, dude?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you can see it's a good idea.
SPEAKER_06I've known you for I haven't seen the top lip in the eons. It was crazy.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so this is a little video of us when we were hiking down into the White Domes Trail. We took a little rest, and I actually all these like to the left, I hiked up there. It was it was sick because I got in this spot in the shade. Yeah, and I got in this spot in the shade um where there was like a little pool of water, and there was even like moist sand that had been there for God knows. Oh, these are some ancient petroglyphs. Yep, yep. Um, that were there from the uh Anasanzi and the Pueblo tribes. Oh, there's a close-up of the Chacoala, it's a type of iguanid, iguanadid, iguanid species. The iguana de familia? Yeah, part of the iguana family.
SPEAKER_06Iguana familia.
SPEAKER_07It almost looks like a bearded dragon from the back.
SPEAKER_06No, it definitely does look like a bearded dragon that way.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Did you pet him? No, I tried. I climbed I I when I climbed down, I climbed up the other side. I didn't post it, but I've got a picture where I got a close up of his face, I'll show you. Uh-huh. Um, and I tried and he ran off. I was like, oh man. So yeah, this was the White Domes Trail. We ended up hiking it. It's like some Indiana Jones shit. Like where we hiked and it's just cliffs on either side, and you just like wander through these canyons, man. Your boy was in was in heaven. Um dude, it looks like it, man. So yeah, so uh the Valley of Fire was epic. Um the next day, we'll we'll get through these uh outdoor activities, then we'll take a uh a short break and we'll come back.
Red Rock Canyon Scenic Loop
SPEAKER_07But um the next day we went to um Red Rocks Canyon, and it was pretty much things.
SPEAKER_06You're looking at stuff, you're it you're showing stuff. Uh it stuff is impeccable, to be honest. I'm gonna commentate for the year if I found this one. Um that rock look like a dick. Um now the uh that rock looks like a vast vagina that no man should enter. No, I'll show you one.
SPEAKER_07Uh this is actually it doesn't do justice how high that is. Oh no, it looks insanely high. Yeah, it's like uh well over a hundred feet up.
SPEAKER_06You can see the distance and how low the ground is under you. Yeah, yeah, no, no, no, no. You can totally see that for sure.
SPEAKER_07I mean, it was like getting up there, I'm like just and I think even my voice on here, I'm just like up here. Up here. Like Courtney uh didn't join me on this one. She was feeling a little winded, so I left her kind of back underneath this rock in the shade.
SPEAKER_06Honey, I love you, but I gotta go do man things right now.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I'll show you where, because this one I pan around and I show you the rock where she is. Um, you can't see her though, because she's too far away. So right here to the right, you see that big boulder right there? Yeah. She's in the shade, tucked right underneath there. She's sitting right there. Oh, I see her. I see her.
SPEAKER_06I'm like, hi, honey. I left you in the crevice.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so we we went out and we got married um basically the the day after we flew in, because we flew in at night, we got in at night. So the next day was our our wedding, and then we just did awesome honeymoon shit. Um, and it was her birthday on Friday the 24th. So we really was it? I didn't know that. Yeah, we're gonna do something here because it kind of got overshowered, overshadowed by uh everything else. But right, right. This video, just again, another like just hiking in, like where you're just dude, that rock's tighter than the virgin you're walking through right there.
SPEAKER_06God damn. Little Mrs. and Mr. Walnuts.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06God damn, she's got more tattoos than you, dude.
SPEAKER_07She got a few. Oh, there you go. Okay. Oh, there's that crevice. Oh, there's lit, dude. There was light at the end of the tunnel. Yep. So uh yeah, no, the cool thing about this park, um, it's a national conservancy and a state park. So you can't go in there carving your names on rocks and shit. They'll find you. No, no, no, yeah, for sure. There's that not at all. Um the they've got a scenic road, right? They've got a nice visitor center. It's very well, they give you a little map. Um, it's really, really well laid out, and they've got a road to where it weaves all the way in a big loop in and out of the the canyon along the base of the mountains to all these trailheads where you can literally drive in the comfort of your AC, go to the trailhead, get out, take a few pictures, explore around there for a little bit if you want, without necessarily having to um uh we'll uh we'll shout out Aaron Mullen. Mullen's calling we'll call his call on you right now. We'll call you back in a few on break, buddy. Yeah, we'll call you back, Mullys. But no, if you're not into like hiking, we were kind of sore on that day and a little tired, so I did a lot more hiking than Babe did, but we went to every trailhead and just expected. I'm telling you, Jesus Christ, dude. Lenny is the man. So here's some wild agave. This is what they uh make the good tequila out of. Ah, I see with the with the mountains in the background. Um, another cactus, you know. Your boy wanted to be a nature. There they ought to be like, babe, let me take a picture of you under your boulder. Hey, dude, that's a good picture, too. Jesus. So this is like the road when you're first like driving in.
SPEAKER_06It seems like you're just going into a mountain. Like it's like you're the road's just headed for the mountain, you're just gonna crash right into it.
SPEAKER_07Right? So you come up in here. This is a sign saying, like, up your Red Rock Canyon. Oh, yeah, right. You turn onto a road right off to the right, and then you come up to the visitor center, and from there you it'll show you the scenic loop. They've got camping out there areas. Um, but the parks are camp out there. That's wild. Dude, I I the the the stars out there are probably amazing because there's no light pollution.
SPEAKER_06Oh, I know. I'm sure we'll probably do it eventually once this fucking podcast starts making us that money. Yep, love that money.
SPEAKER_07Yep. So here's uh Red Rocks part two. Um, some more agave and cactus. Dude, just like the layers of the sandstone. Yeah, that's wild. Yep. Same with this. The cross between the white and the red sand that's just compressed. Old ass f hand prints from from natives. That's wild, dude. Yeah, they they've got an area where it shows you you if you hike along this trail and it'll tell you along these cliffs you'll find petroglyphs. Um it's pretty sick. Here's some more, you know, all around here. Um obviously. Oh, oh. So this was cool. There's a little weird spire out here. I did say I was like, dang, next time I come back, I'm getting there. That would be sick to climb that because there's a really sick route on the outside. It's it's pretty steep down there, but not too steep to where you could still belay, you know, have someone belay you. Right. Um, but yeah, so I was like, babe, take a picture of that. I'm coming back for that. So this is when we were hiking the trail and we f first found the petroglyphs. Look like you're taking a little less travel there. A little bit. Are you urinating? Is that what that was? No, no, I mean this is what it tells you is like come over here. So one I always take that like it's like stay on trail. I'm like, that means Paul go off trail. But we did have a little Jeep compass with four-wheel drive. So we did do um a there's a lot of like real off-road trails out there. Um we went on a little bit of an easier one up to a cool lookout area. Yeah, so that was uh Red Rocks Canyon. Definitely, even if you're not into hiking, go check it out. They got the scenic road.
SPEAKER_06It'll humble you. Yeah, for real. It'll I'm humbled just by sitting here looking at pictures of the city.
SPEAKER_07And I mean, the they're we're at the visitor center, it's got a map showing the elevation of what the mountains are and everything. And I mean, they're all around like 4,000 to 5,000 feet. Oh, yeah, dude. So they're they're they're big, legit, legit mountains. Um so day three of our three day in a row outdoor
Willow Beach Kayak And Wildlife
SPEAKER_07excursion. So we did it, like in my opinion, we did it right. We woke up early-ish. I mean, we we we wake up early anyway, and uh we we did our outdoor things, got you know, by midday when the sun is like completely unbearable, you know, noon, one, two at the latest. We head back to the hotel, you know, hit the pool or get showered or whatever, and then go hit the casinos and the show and get a five-star dinner somewhere.
SPEAKER_06So I you called me actually, and I think you won 30 cents while you were on the phone with me.
SPEAKER_07I did win 30 cents.
SPEAKER_06Um I I heard the dinging off, and I was like, dude, do you spend 30 cents? You're like, ah, 37 dog, but yeah, it's close enough. Yeah, and uh I know the noises. I've been to casinos, all right. I spent I spent some time, made some friends.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, when I talked to you too, Courtney put in five bucks on a slot in her first spin. She ended up winning like fifty off her five, and I was just like, What the fuck just happened? She bet fifty cents. She put five dollars in. It was a minimum it was a penny slots, and it was a minimum bet of fifty cents. She bet fifty cents and won fifty dollars. Dude, you take your money out, check it out. That's exactly what you did. We were just like, we're cashing out and finding a new one. Yeah, when you when you hit, you got it, you gotta cat when you yeah, Sam. Oh man. So anyway, day three we did the uh we headed to Willow uh beach, Arizona, which is everything we did was within thirty to forty-five minutes from Las Vegas. Um Willow Beach is just a little bit further um than the Hoover Dam. If you're heading towards the Hoover Dam in Lake Mead, um on your way, you know, out of Vegas. Um it's a little bit further. Oh nice.
SPEAKER_06In case anybody wants to see that. Yeah. That's that $737. Your boy I spent some time on the slots.
SPEAKER_07Um so yeah, so here we go. This is us driving along the highway as we first kind of open up. This is near the Hoover Dam. Um just past the Hoover Dam. This is uh I think we had Joe, yeah, we're we're in Arizona here. Um it's just driving along this highway showing you just the epicness of the mountains and and it's beautiful out there. Arizona's like that too. And everything, yeah. It was like, man, I I yeah. So here, you know, a little pick uh of Babe in the front of the front of the kayak. Hey yo. We we do a lot of kayak. Um we're pretty strong paddlers, and I gotta say though, she was letting me do all the work on that day.
SPEAKER_06She was not doing it. She even admitted. It's her honeymoon, dude. I know at the end of the day. Don't you disrespect Mrs. Walnuts like that? I got your back, sweetheart, okay?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, no, she uh Welcome to the family. I did not uh I didn't say anything, but at the end of the day, I was I was like, because we were making it back at you.
SPEAKER_06You couldn't even pull the lever on the slot machine. You're like, honey, you gotta pull this for me and do something.
SPEAKER_07Well, we did it right too. We we I bought us couples massage. Oh shit. Yeah, so we got we got done up, dude. We hit the spa, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Ah, that's ah oh dude.
SPEAKER_07And I had I had this uh this one, this dude. I I ain't scared.
SPEAKER_06No, dude, I've had a dude fucking rub me down before, dude. Hey, I'm gonna tell you right now, boys know what boys want, okay?
SPEAKER_07I'm completely comfortable with my sexuality. It's like when they asked, they were like, Do you do you prefer the gender of your therapist? I'm like, no, just get make sure it's the good one. Like yeah, make sure he's good. I don't care if it's a guy or a girl or uh, you know, do you want him to rub your ass?
SPEAKER_06That's where all my attention is, to be honest with you.
SPEAKER_07Or are they them? Just just yeah. No, bro. That's what he yo, and that's what was like clothing optional. Your boy stripped down to skibbies. I'm going down to skibbies every time. I'm like, dude, we're doing we're living this up. I'm going, I'm going all the way down. And uh, yo, he that shout out to that dude, Alex. He was he was the bomb. Did you tip him? Yeah. Um how much you break them off? Uh they ended up each because there was added gratuity. I tipped like 20 each on top, so they ended up making like 65 bucks each.
SPEAKER_06Woo wee! Oh man, there's probably better tippers out there, but I mean, all right, that's a floor thing.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but your boy, I mean, I tip accordingly. It was like 30% of what he, you know what I mean? Like I tipped over the, you know.
SPEAKER_06Some bitch, I spent $250 on that already.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I was like, bro, that was like a $500 couples massage. Like, okay. I let me get into when we take a break, we're gonna come back and talk about how much money you got spent on food.
SPEAKER_06And not including the hand job you got too by your boy Alex. I got you. No, the babe was right there next to me.
SPEAKER_07She didn't mind. She's like, Let's work for me tonight. So this was a cool little spot that we found. Um, that'll look beautiful, dude. Yeah, we backed in. I mean, cliffs super, I mean, it's a mountain, you know what I mean? Yeah, for sure. There's a little spot that I ended up climbing up to. The water was freezing. Freezing. Like, not like my brother and my sister, they were out there last year. Um, they did like my brother and his wife, and my sister and her husband went out to Vegas, and so they told us about this place. They rented a boat. We didn't rent a boat. We kayaked. Yeah, we kayaked. We were uh honestly, I procrastinated and getting the reservation, and then there were no no boats. But we're but we're kayakers anyway, so we were like we didn't care. That's your forte. So the boats were allowed one way down the river where you could go to a spot for dope ass cliff jumping and cliff diving, and then all of the kayaks could go north up the river to a spot called the Emerald Cave, where the water is so green and like amazingly clear that when the light hits it, it reflects the cave looks like it's sparkling emeralds. Wow, it does it on some of the side of the cliffs, like it was it was amazing. And we found another cool cave. So we were like cliff diving motorboat, not a big deal. We'll go find the caves and blah blah blah. So, which it it it lucked out. Um, but they tell you they're like no marijuana in the national park.
SPEAKER_06Oh, of course not, dude. We are upholding American citizens. We would never found this little cool like smoke marijuana in a national park.
SPEAKER_07We know better. Yeah, there's your guy up here, climbed up there. I was like, babe, up here. But uh are you not entertained? That was right after I jumped in the water. Uh oh, you look like you regretted that instantly. It took my breath away, bro. Like it felt like, okay, just waiting around. If you wait around in the water for about 10 minutes, your toes start to go numb. Oh, how does it get that cold? Because it's like glacial runoff, dude. Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. So it's like, and they even said we heard when we went to this one cave, um, the there was a guide right after we were up there, brought a little group up, and he said in the um winter time the cave open ups much bigger because the water level on the river is drastically lower. And it's basically because all of the glaciers up in the mountains that helped feed this river as it's running all the way down, um, and everything, like it's it's all snow and ice and packed in the summer months as it's melting, it all contributes to the water, water level goes up, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
SPEAKER_13Right.
SPEAKER_07Every and even like the Hoover Dam, the lake gets higher, they let out more water, you know, throughout. Yeah. So it was very my brother even told me, he's like, it's cold, it'll take your breath away. Like, I jumped in and I was like, dude. Did you not touch the water with your hand first? I did, but it felt cold. But honestly, I was like, that's cold, but after you touch it for a while and it's so hot, and even just splashing it on your body while you're in the kayak, you're like, Oh, I kayak the springs. Like, yeah, it's like the springs. Yeah, yeah, sure. It's a little colder. Yeah, until you jump in and you literally come up, you're like, Oh, dude, and you got your penises up in your kidneys and shit.
SPEAKER_06Dude, my balls were in my throat.
SPEAKER_07You can tell by the look on the face right there. I like just come up from the water.
SPEAKER_06I was like, oh, that was a terrible mistake.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, no, I actually jumped in a couple of times because I I just needed to. Oh, I would have done the same. Babe was not. Yep, here's your boy, of course.
SPEAKER_06That is that's a cigarette. That's definitely not marijuana.
SPEAKER_07No, there are not a lot of smoked cigarettes in there either. No, it's definitely marijuana. Um I just found my little cup.
SPEAKER_06God damn it, Polly. Come on, dude. We got a rep to protect. Yep, and I was like, big river doink.
SPEAKER_07Big river doink. Yeah, yeah. RIP a doink man. I honestly did that everywhere I went. I know, I did. I was like, I was like, big desert doink. And I'm like, then I'm like, big up canyon doinks. Just like look at everything. Inside a cave, doink. Yeah, inside the cave. Like, so this was one cool little cave that we went in. Um it was on the opposite side where the sun wasn't reflecting there, but it was just cool. You just kind of kayaked and got to Oh, it's beautiful, dude. So these are the bighorn ship sheep we were uh hoping really, you know, to see. We kept hearing about them, and I'm like, God damn it, I just want to see some sheep. Um and we heard when we were in the desert and in the canyon in the canyon that in the summer months they go up more into the mountains, um, and in the winter months they come down into the desert more. Right. Um so we were on the way back from like the Emerald Cave and everything, and uh we saw I saw somebody looking up to the right, so I look up and I'm like boom, and we just both spot them. So there was like three up here. There was one that had walked right up around here, and there's one hiding right behind this boulder in this video you couldn't see. Um, but yeah, you saw a walk right there, that little young one. Yep, but yeah, there was uh like two males that you could tell with big old horns. There looked to be um two or two or three f females and and a young one.
SPEAKER_06Um used to call me that big old horn. Big horn.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and then just uh we we did the you know cliche kissy photos everywhere we went.
SPEAKER_06Oh, yeah. I mean, you just got married. You're on a honeymoon, dude. Yep, so how could you not? Honestly, I'd feel disrespected if you didn't.
SPEAKER_07Right. So we uh we this is in front of the Hoover Dam. Um super fucking high up there, dude. Yeah, no, the Hoover Dam is huge and you're above it. Yeah, it's the Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. Um you Pat you know who Pat Tillman is? The name sounds very familiar. He was uh he was a like I believe he was a star linebacker and he ended up playing for the Arizona Cardinals. And when 9-11 happened, he quit playing football and went to war, and when then he died and he died in 2004, he was killed in action, which there's a lot of documentaries because there's some uh I believe suspicious um circumstances surrounding his death, um if I'm not mistaken. Um, however, it was pretty rad like walking up and going over the bridge. I was like, Pat Tillman, American American fucking hero for sure. Pat Tillman Doink? Yep, R.I.P. Yeah, yeah, big big Pat Tilly Doink.
SPEAKER_06I made this one as white as a line back of Pat P Pat Tillman style. Yep, yep. So that was sick, but uh That's rad, dude. R.I.P. Pat Tillman, dude. You're a real American hero.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, man, and so it was just uh epic epic time.
SPEAKER_06Unlike that fucking Colin Kaepernick, he ain't fucking worth shit, dude. Not an American hero. I uh I said it.
SPEAKER_07I said it. I mean I disagree, but anyway, we're gonna take a uh quick
Vegas Vibe And Weed Culture
SPEAKER_07break and then we're gonna come back in uh with some stories about the wedding and stuff just right like gonna set my stool, gonna set my soul on fire.
SPEAKER_15Got a whole lot of money left ready to fire. There's a thousand ready women, there's a live deal. I'm just a devil with everything. Oh, you need to put a steel Las Vegas.
SPEAKER_07Alright. I gotta
Graceland Chapel Wedding Details
SPEAKER_07tell you, I was fully in the Vegas vibe uh the whole time, man. I was really kind of skeptical. Vegas was one of the places, I guess, in my life that's got a euphoria. Yeah, well, I had had it on my list. I've just had so many places that I wanted to go that it was on my list, but I didn't really know how uh into it I would be. So it kind of wasn't super high up there. After going, I'm like, this fucking place is amazing. It really is, you know, like it's just everything being open, um, being able to get to the weed dispensaries, um, real real easy and not having to deal.
SPEAKER_06Could you smoke in the hotel room?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, bro. And they uh well, we had a non-smoking room, but I can tell you we smelled weed everywhere we went, and nobody busted your balls about it. Right. I smoked in my hotel room. You know, we're not uh really drinkers or anything like that, but I can tell you that every hotel and casino there um is completely opposite of every hotel everywhere else in America where they deter you from taking the party back to your bedroom. No, sir, no, sir. Don't they got drive-throughs where you can get drinks and shit? Not in Las Vegas. They encourage, they have liquor stores in the lobby, they have liquor everywhere. They're like, and they're in their signs. It's like, you know, take the party to your room. So I gotta give big shout-outs to the state of Nevada. They know how it's done, dude. Florida's fucking rough, dude. I did Florida. I mean, we we I love the state of Florida. We could we I mean, we need to make weed recreational here. Um, you know, the tax that they add on, I mean, they're making so much money. It was like, and it wasn't as a consumer, it wasn't like a big deal for me. Like the tax, because it was they only tax well, the tax for recreational is higher than the tax for medical. Right. So I didn't mind. I went in the store and it was like such a small pre- I spent like 150 bucks and got enough, like, you know, we got edibles, we got pre-rolls, we got a whole bunch of shit. Um Pat Tillman Doinks, yeah, pack pat Tilly Doink's, and uh and then it was like an $11 state tax, and I was like, whatever. What? Yeah, I spent like jump change $155 and 11 of it was yeah, uh tax that is great, dude. Yeah, I was like, whatever, you know, tax that recreational.
SPEAKER_06I mean, there was also sales tax on it, but I mean I mean, granted, dude, you think about it, Florida has a seven cent tax for every dollar. So after you know, seventy dollars, that's for you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_07Like But it it's just it's it's like really it's it was just really so insignificant, and it was I'm like, whatever. I just think that it would it would help our infrastructure. I'm like, whether we put it into our school systems and start helping teet or pay teachers what they should be uh paid, or you know, whatever it is to help benefit our infrastructure.
SPEAKER_06The problem is because the white man, the white man, that's all I got, dude.
SPEAKER_07I gotta tell you. That's all I got. The problem is the white man, but no, anyway, it was just uh everything about the town was super dope. Like we just talked about in the previous uh segment. Everything you could do outdoors there was super dope. Um the skate parks could use some work, but we'll talk about that in a few. Um, so the wedding was absolutely amazing, it was completely stress-free, relaxing. I watched it online. Fun. Yep, I sent you the link, and uh in our family, the we were at the the world famous Graceland Wedding Chapel. They're the only chapel there where you can still get married by Elvis because the Elder hasn't died yet, it was a rule.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's hidden, dude. He's stuck in Graceland.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, no, it was Graceland Chapel. He uh I guess the estate had sued and like put a cease and desist on the Elvis impersonators marrying people, unless it's at the Graceland Wedding Chapel. Right. So this is the oldest and most famous of the like little wedding chapels there. Uh fun fact, uh John Bon Jovi was married there in 1989. Really? Rob Zombie and uh Sherry Moon Zombie were uh married there. Um Mr. and Mrs. Zombie. Mr. and Mrs. Zombie, yes. Um uh David Harper from Stranger Things, he plays Hopper on there, be shared. Yep, yeah, he he was married there. What year?
SPEAKER_06Um I not right after the first season of Stranger Things when he got his money. Right?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so it was really, really cool. Um the people there were amazing. Um there was uh you know lovely lady kind of working the front desk that we we checked in with. Oh, we we paid for a package where we got picked up by a limo from them. Right. So limo driver was super cool, came and picked us up at the hotel.
SPEAKER_06Smoke big joints in the limo, limo doints.
SPEAKER_07Uh walking around there was like, I mean, who needed a bachelor, bachelorette party? Everybody was hyping us up, being like, Woo! Because it's just Las Vegas, and they see you're getting married there, so it was like it was, you know, everybody's giving compliments and cheering just as we're walking out. Oh, aren't y'all so pleasant and sweet? So we get we get in the limo, it's like a 20-minute ride from where we were at over there, 15-20 minutes. Um, it was super chill. We get out, we go in, lovely lady at the reception, we get checked in. Um there was a service going on, they just finish. So we go in, we get to kind of meet Elvis and uh our photographer. Photographer was a super cool dude with a crazy ass mohawk. Yeah, of course, naturally, naturally. So he had like some black like dockers on, and like uh a maroon like dress shirt with a tie, completely bicked head on the sides, and a skinny, perfectly spiked up mohawk. Fucking little heavier, heavier set guy. He fucking ruled, he was cool, we were shooting the shit.
SPEAKER_06His haircut's three thousand dollars.
SPEAKER_07We we got uh I mean he he we he was an amazing photographer, he got amazing shots. Um they we did the whole thing where it was I feel like I did a pretty good job fucking screenshoting. I'll be honest with you. It was you made us laugh so hard because you sent me all the screenshots, and my family did too. Like my sister and my sister-in-law, like in our little group chat thing, they're all sent like after the service I check. It's like screenshots from you guys. It's like so funny because uh they did the Facebook Live, but it's still up on there. If you're friends or whatever, you want to uh go on to uh Facebook, Graceland uh wedding chat.
SPEAKER_06I cried, I cried, I'll be honest with you. I cried a little bit. My work husband got married.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and uh yeah, no, I thought I almost got teary a couple of times, and and Courtney said she did too, but it was so lighthearted and they made it so fun that it was just like we were just smiling and and like having vibing the whole time. Um to the future Mrs. Jones. Uh, if you're out there listening, uh we shall do the same. Yeah, so it starts. Uh he uh and yeah, if you want to go on there, Paul and Courtney, uh you can scroll down a little bit. Um we were married on the 23rd of June. You can see us on there. But uh fucking beautiful ceremony. So walks us down the aisle to you know, singing uh um you know, falling in love with you, you know. Oh yeah. Fools rush in, or what's it called, or I don't know. I can't remember the name of the song, but everybody knows the song. So we walks her words. He walks her down the aisle. When no blue suede shoes I'll tell you that. And uh he you know starts saying the vows and everything. He had some funny little comic reliefs where he's like, this you know, he's like, you know, marriage not just to only be your lover, and like pauses. He's like, and you think he's gonna say, but your best friend and partner too thing. He's like, but Elvis is lover too. Uh-huh. You know what I mean? Yeah, hits him with a rim shot, and he's like, Oh no, and then he goes into it. So like that makes us smile. And then uh he sings another uh takes pause, sings another song. A rang and dang, or then we uh we do our uh you know, we exchange rings and our vows and such, and then he uh he sings Viva Las Vegas as we like walk to the end of the aisle and walk back, and the whole time they're filming everything, and it was just uh super, super rad. Then we went outside and we got a few more pictures. I'll show you. Um smoked a big old doink. Uh we got back to the hotel and we did that actually. Um I've got a little album with all the photos I took, and there are 270. Jesus Christ. So that one afterwards, yeah. Yeah, yeah, that one's awesome. With the guns with the fingers.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, a finger bang! Bang, bang, bang.
SPEAKER_07So the same. And they're all like, do this, do that. And so the guy, uh, that's just me and her. Beautiful man. Yep. Then he took us outside. There's this little spot right next to it, like a little bridge, and got that there. And that one's great. Dude, that's beautiful, man. Yeah, so it was absolutely amazing. Um, not only did I marry my best friend and my my partner, my lover. I I mean, couldn't be more happy and fulfilled. But uh Yeah, it's just been uh it was an epic time. They they made it, they made it awesome. And after that, we went back in uh to the hotel and we just gave me a phone call if
Best Man Speech Read Aloud
SPEAKER_07I'm if I'm not mistaken. You did, and you read me uh your best man speech, and actually I got a little teary-eyed while you were reading it. Um do you have it? I right here. Oh oh man. I have it right here. You want to share that with the people?
SPEAKER_06Uh yeah, yeah, yeah. I got no problem with that whatsoever. And uh just so y'all are aware, um, I'm not crying, you're crying, okay? All right, here we go. I think as humans, we never notice the box we're trapped inside until that one special person comes along, unbeknownst and unaware, that they hold the key and they let the other out, which goes both ways. Because I truly believe we all fight a war inside ourselves until that person appears and makes us aware we are no longer have to fight anymore because we're no longer alone and everything will be okay. Because they believe in you the same way you believe in them back. And I've seen firsthand the joy and happiness and the childlike wonder for what tomorrow brings that Courtney has brought to you, Paul. And as your friend, I can only say thank you, Courtney, from the bottom of my heart, because Paul is a special guy. Paul is one of my best friends in the world, and he put a faith and belief in me when I lost it in myself, and for that I could never pay him for. But I know and witness firsthand, Mr. Walnuts, how much you love and have to give to any and everyone in your life, and I know for a fact you do anything you could to help someone in need, and you're the first person to tell someone you believe in them before they ever believe in themselves. And it makes me so happy to say to know and witness firsthand he's found his true soulmate. Side note and a little fun fact, him and I had a wild idea to do a gay marriage as a tax write-off for the podcast. But uh Courtney came along and uh I knew that fucking idea was out the window. Appreciate you, baby. Uh, anyways, uh I know and I love you two so much, and I know you two will make each other. A better person and a happier person. Every day you are a part of each other's lives. And I wish deeply I could be there to share this moment with you two. And I'm so happy for y'all, and I can't wait to see what life brings you to because I know in my heart it'll be nothing but good fortune, even though I know Courtney charges Paul a double price for his haircuts. Yeah, nigga. Yeah, I love y'all both. And welcome to the family, Mrs. Walnuts. Congratulations to you two from the bottom of my heart. And I'm glad you two allow such a scumbag as myself to be a part of your lives. Mazletov.
SPEAKER_07Oh yeah. Beautiful, my brother. I appreciate it, dude. And yeah, that was that was epic talking to you right after uh the ceremony, and then uh and hearing those amazing words, I was like, Oh, god damn it, man.
SPEAKER_06I'm not crying, you're crying. Nah, man, like, dude, it I I'd never I'd never done anything like that, write a best man speech. Be honest with you, the only wedding I've ever been to was uh my baby mama's dad's fourth or fifth wedding, I think. Huh? Yeah, one of the one of them types of things. So, you know, uh, but the to truly like have my best friend get married off to his soulmate, that shit made me more happier than anything. And to be honored with you to even ask me to do that just fucking meant the world to me. And I was just I was literally up late writing it, and I was kind of going back and forth over it, woke up the next day, taking things out, putting things in, and trying to figure out what was right, and like I the fact that y y'all loved it, man, that means the world to me personally, because like dude, I Oh yeah, it made the night because we were just you know out there, like we wanted just keep it us because we didn't want like the stress of like doing a wedding for people.
SPEAKER_07We're gonna do a small thing for close friends and family um like next year, right? Um, but yeah, we just really wanted to keep it, you know, us. So uh just but still having you like be be able to, you know, that it was just epic. It was like the perfect uh part, you know, riding back to the to the hotel. Then we like kicked it off, went and celebrated a little bit, and then like I said, we woke up the next day. We had three amazing outdoor days before hitting casinos and shows. And oh, I can't wait to tell you about the shows that we saw.
SPEAKER_06So oh dude, I'm I'm fucking stoked to hear about them.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, let's take another quick break and I'll get back to uh telling you about uh uh the rest of our holiday out in Vegas. Let's get it, but I'm gonna go to the hospital.
The Steak Bill And Market Price
SPEAKER_07You know, I was always told I got a face for radio, so face for radio and a voice of an angel. Yes. Yeah, so uh we're back with you to wrap up the uh the the very special edition of Polly on the pod.
SPEAKER_06We're gonna call this the uh you know what, dude? I don't know what we're gonna call it. We're probably the wedding special. The wedding special or the special wedding.
SPEAKER_07The special wedding. Now you make us sound like we ride a short bus.
SPEAKER_06I saw the limo, dude.
SPEAKER_07That was a short ass bus, dude. Yeah. So uh we did uh let me let me tell you about we've we've talked about the outdoor adventures. We've talked about terribles. We've talked about kicking around Vegas a little bit, um, in in some of the casinos and the mob museum, the Hoover Dam, all that good stuff. Right. Big joint for Matt Tillman. Let me tell you about the best fucking steak I've ever had in my life.
SPEAKER_06Now, now now when you say this, uh when you do you compare it to a steak that you've made also?
SPEAKER_07Uh yes, that I've made, and that like I've bought at a like let's say Ruth Chris. Is it better than Ruth Chris? Yes. By far. Easy, hands down.
SPEAKER_06Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_07Big question, big question, big question.
SPEAKER_06I've had the better longhorns? Better longhorns.
SPEAKER_07Way okay, all right.
SPEAKER_06I'm listening.
SPEAKER_07So the pr the most expensive and one of the best steaks I've had previously was a restaurant and a hotel in Buckhead. I can't remember the name of the place. It was like Buckhead at, dude. Atlanta. Oh, yeah. Bridge part of downtown Atlanta. Yeah, I know where that's at. Yeah, so uh I was staying there with my cousin when we were shooting the music video with Nappy Roots. Right, right. So they uh and that one was an $80 steak. So this one was called, we went to this place called Chica. It's a Peruvian uh restaurant, like grilled. We we did. Hold on. Well, we're gonna get to that. Pump the brakes, boy. Pump the brakes. So uh for her birthday dinner, she wanted to go to Chica, um, this Peruvian restaurant in the Venetian. Absolutely amazing. Uh, she had sea bass um and uh some uh Brussels sprouts. Um they were all it was all amazing, like it was so good. Mine was at the cowboy steak. Is that Tomahawk? Sabone and ribeye, yep. Oh, baby boy. Yeah, yeah. I'm all here. So you can bring some home for baby boy, dude. Yeah, so it says uh market price on it. And I'm just thinking, I'm like, okay, I've had like steaks at Warsay, another fine dining, you know. I'm like, I've paid almost a hundred dollars for a steak before I've I've paid like eighty or eighty five in Atlanta, you know what I mean? Right. So I'm like, whatever, and babe's all like, yeah, you should get it, you should get it, because she knows I love steak. So I get it. Because nothing comes with these, like, you know, must be a communist who's a Muslim doesn't like steak, dude. Right. Comes with these little fries, they're amazing, like those little truffle fries or whatever, or something, and uh steak, and just absolutely was cooked over this wood burning grill, this wood-fired grill, but it was like it wasn't overly charred, it was like the most perfect medium rare.
SPEAKER_06Okay, that was gonna be my next question. What style you got it?
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, medium rare.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_07Um either rare or medium rare.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, no, that's where that's where I go, is medium or medium rare. Because you gotta bring some home, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, well, I mean, not even that. I just I mean, I like mine I'll I'll I'll I like it doesn't matter. You can knock the hooves and horns off and keep that bitch bloody shot. I'll eat you can put it basically raw on my plate, I'll eat it. You can burn it to a crisp, I'll eat it. Yeah, I'm with you, I'm with you. I do the same thing too. Your boy, your boy's not super picky, but if I have it my way, it's either rare or medium rare. I go, yeah, I go medium rare myself. But the way that like they clearly, I don't know how they cooked it so perfectly, but it was like you could tell it was cooked over an open flame, but it wasn't charred by any means. Had some grill marks, light grill marks, thick steak, thick bone, um just the the perfectly medium rare. Now, guess how much our tab was for two people? We did not drink any alcohol, just water. No alkies? No, no water. Oh, you both had water, no cokes, no sodas? No sodas, nothing. No, no. Guess how much our bill is.
SPEAKER_06Did you get water with lemon? Lime. Lime. Oh, you're fancy, huh? I'm fancy. Watch out. Okay, so how much do they charge for the limes?
SPEAKER_07Our bill was $310. Oh. For two people. Market price my ass. $165 for the steak alone. They killed that shit today. Yeah. So um beware. Uh market price out there is not market price. Everywhere else is. What was your impression when you saw the bill? I said, whoa. I was thinking about uh maybe a I was thinking we were like probably close to a $200 bill. I was expecting to pay that. I was like, if we're not at a $200 bill yet, then with gratuity we will be. Right. You know what I mean? Right. Um yeah, the $310, and then having a tip on top. I was like, what the fuck? Did they serve ketchup at least? Jesus Christ. No, I didn't want none of that. I'm just fucking around. No, so then uh we did uh the next day we were um I think we were in uh Caesars. Yeah, we went to Caesars, um, and then there was uh we c we tried to get into Hell's Kitchen, they were booked all week. Um and we had been looking like a couple weeks in advance, and they were they were booked. So if you want to get into Hell's Kitchen, Gordon Ramsey's restaurant, definitely book it way in advance. Um because even a few weeks out, a month out, they're probably gonna be booked. Right. Um But he's got two other restaurants. He's got one for like Fish and Chips place that's kind of in between the link it's in the flamingo. And then uh he's got another one, Gordon
Gordon Ramsay Beef Wellington
SPEAKER_07Ramsay's Pub and Grill in Caesars. And uh we went there and we got the world famous beef wellington. You got the Wellington? Got the Welly. Oh, tell me about the Wellies. With the with the with the bread and crust around. Oh, like yeah, like the croissant, like the pastry was so crisp and buttery.
SPEAKER_06Oh the beef.
SPEAKER_07Dude, stop, dude. I'm about to I'm about to start pushing denim, dude. Dude, I am I'm my mouth is watering right now thinking about it.
SPEAKER_13I'm like, and like yeah.
SPEAKER_07So uh yeah, it was just it was amazing. It was like that perfect rare, medium rare, rare, rare. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah. And with the, I think what is it, a board aborzen sauce that they put. Yeah, it was so good. Dude, it was just a melt in your mouth. All of the flavors, the crispiness, like I said, of the of the pastry around it, it was as good, um, if not better, than all of the hype. So I have to say, if you are a carnivore and you like steak or beef, shout out to all our vegans and vegetarians. We support you too, still. We'll get there, we'll get there. I come from a my mom's a vegetarian, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_06You get a salad before the beef wellington, okay? Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_07Tis true, tis true. Um, I love my veggies. However, I'm just saying, like, if you want some back-to-back life-changing experiences, go get that cowboy steak and go get that beef wellington.
SPEAKER_06Now, how much did the wellies price you at?
SPEAKER_07I think I think the wellington was like 60 bucks. That's not bad. It wasn't bad at all. That's not bad. It wasn't bad at all. It was about the the almost like now. Did you also drink water? Yeah, but I think I got something else to drink with that. I think I got a soda or something. Right, right, right. But yeah, no, that wasn't that wasn't a bad, that wasn't a hit-your-pocket. Um, you know, super bad.
SPEAKER_06But he's a gracious man.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it was amazing. It was it was super delicious. Honestly, there was just a lot of really good food. Um, everywhere you turn, um there's something that you can find um that you'll fancy, you know. Yeah, you fancy, huh? I talked to a guy out there too, you know, just thinking about like everything that we saw and we packed so much in. Um, talk to guys like I've been out here for like 13 years and I still haven't seen everything. Because there's there's just so much. Right, right. Um so we ended up going to Cirque du Soleil, the Beatles Love
Cirque Show Mechanics And Visuals
SPEAKER_07Show in the Mirage Hotel and Casino. That was an epic show.
SPEAKER_06Six thousand dollars is how much that costs.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so it's the only, it's a 360-degree theater. And uh, so like 360-degree seating. It's the only one on the Vegas strip like that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, it's around it's a it's around, it's around seating.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and so everything comes, not not there's no like backstage because 360, so it's the floor, the floor will open up and the floor will raise up with new set stuff, and then the floor will open up, it'll sink down. At one point in time, there was like a guy doing like you know, some dancing and acrobatics across, and as the song was ending and he was done, the floor had opened up and dropped down, and you were expecting probably the next floor, you know, set to come up, but it didn't, it just stayed like a giant pit, and he just runs and he just jumps and just like goes like swan dives into the hole. Yeah, clearly there was like a net or something down there, but it was just like it was epic.
SPEAKER_06How deep is the basement in this place?
SPEAKER_07So, um, and there was a visual where at one point like there was a sheet that they pulled out, like because all like Beatles themed and you know, right, um, all the music. Um, I had watched a documentary. My parents are big Beatles fans, I like the Beatles.
SPEAKER_06I love the Beatles too. Me and my girls and baby mom, we all love the Beatles.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. We get down with them. So um I had watched it uh because it's been on out there since like 2014, I think. Yeah. So um it uh yeah, it's almost 10 years now. But uh I'd seen the documentary about the making when it first came out, and I actually had the album because they like remixed George Martin and his son Giles Martin, completely reproduced and remixed the songs for it to flow together for the show. Right. So I actually had the album, so I was like really into it. There's a cool part where they're like on these beds and they're like floating off, and this large, like white linen sheet comes out like over the crowd and it's like rippling. Um, and you're like looking up into it, it's like really, really cool. It comes out. It takes you, it takes your eyes off the stage. Kind of for a second, but like then it comes back down because it's covering the whole stage and the whole crowd, but as it comes back down, you see that the the lens connected to the bottom of the beds that they were on, and the beds are now floating like 40 feet above the stage in the middle. And um then they eventually lower, and the beds and all of the linen lowers down into the big hole in the floor, right? And like the linen gets sucked down in, and then like the floor comes up, and it was just like crazy.
SPEAKER_06Like the visuals were we smoked and ate some edibles and uh a little bit of LSD, there's some mushrooms involved. I mean, I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't know if that was actually what I seen, but I know what I saw, all right.
SPEAKER_07No, I kept asking Bables like, is psilocybin legal out here?
SPEAKER_06Because if it is, like, is there a dispensary we can go for that? Because I'm not talking shiitake, I'm talking about silbside.
SPEAKER_07Yes, uh, your boy is uh getting getting you know, getting trippy. You know, um I w I would have one day for that, but we did we didn't. No, I mean I that's that's something I'll I'll go on a mind expanding adventure uh probably once a year once a year or once or once every other year.
SPEAKER_06Probably on a world tour fucking 2026. We're coming to you soon.
SPEAKER_07Yep. But no, so um then we uh you know, being that we both love comedy, babe got us some
Laugh Factory Night And Crowd Work
SPEAKER_07tickets to uh the laugh factory in the Tropicana.
SPEAKER_06Who's performing?
SPEAKER_07Uh Daphnique Springs. Um, she was absolutely hilarious. Um the uh feature was Kevin McCaffrey.
SPEAKER_06Okay, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know Kevin McCaffrey.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, super funny, fucking hilarious. And the host was uh um Lady Mimi, I can't remember. Um so it was African American lady hosting. She was fucking hilarious, um, got everybody hyped. Um the people we had a cool couple that were um in town from Sacramento sitting with us. Um, picked up the tab, good looks, fam. It was saying I know now. It was so funny because like Kevin McCaffrey is a pretty white dude. Yeah, with pretty white dude comp comedy. Oh, yeah. And being up there with these very like like just rad, beautiful, proud black women. Like, he's the feature, he's the feature sandwiched in between them. The d the dynamic was great. And like even uh shout out to Daphne, because she was fucking hilarious, and both both her and Mimi were fucking with everybody in the crowd. It was a good mix of the crowd, but like at one point she's talking uh to uh the this one group, and she's like like Mimi said something about them storming the Capitol, you know, like it's like because they look like that group. And then even Daphne did, she was like talking, you know, it was just it was pretty funny.
SPEAKER_06Dude, when I used to do uh shows in the black comedy scene here in Jacksonville and shit, like I was that like white comic relief, like because they're all talking like uh and I come in and I'm like, all right, let me tell my stupid dumb dumb jokes. Yeah, yeah. You got you guys like the history channel? No, all right, okay, next subject. Let's go.
SPEAKER_07It was pretty it was it was pretty funny. Um trying to remember some of Kevin's bits, but they escaped me right now. But he was uh he was really, really funny. Uh good crowd work. Um then Daphne was killing the crowd work, and honestly, she she talked about the last time she was there and she had a bit about getting uh drugged with Somali, and she was like, Oh dang. She was like, Oh my god, it was amazing. Yeah, she was partying with some dudes in Cabana the first time she came to Vegas and ended up getting like, yeah, I guess like dropped Somali, and she doesn't realize it. And then she ends up like tripping her, you know, you know, yeah, having having a rolling and having a really, really good time. And she was like, Oh my god, I feel like a white person. All of the chains of oppression and all of the anxiety of police brutality has left me. I love everybody. It was hilarious. Um, and then she goes on to like, you know, how she talks about uh she had a bit about talking to her friend and trying to manifest like the man of their dreams. And she's like, first you gotta tell me like the man that you want. And she, of course, describes like tall, dark, handsome muscles, but good job, blah, blah, blah. And now you gotta tell me what's a basketball player? Yeah, and so now she's like, now you gotta tell me what you need in a man. And so she's like, No, she's like, What I need in a man is like cook for me, like emotionally support me, blah, blah, blah, be good with kids, dah da da da, like all of this. So then she's so she's looking for someone like us. No, so that's what she says, like, honey, the man that you want and the man that you need don't look the same. Like, so then she goes into a bit about dad bods and everything, and she's like, Woo! She's I see a dad bod. I'm like, oh, I see a little belly. I'm like, ooh, Lord, or she's like a bald head. She's like, You just like a genie. I just come rub your bald head, and money just starts flowing. You just buy me things. She's like, Oh, let me tell you. I see, I see uh, she was like, I see love handles. I'm like, oh, daddy owns property. Like shit. So she starts dropping all this shit. It was like really, really funny. So her like closing bit, like after her whole dad bot thing, like leading up to it, she's like, Shit, I see a dad bod, and I'm like, I eat, he eat, we eat. Um it was so funny. Uh and that was at the end they had the uh the whole uh the merch, the I eat, he eat, we eat on the shirts. Did you buy the merch?
SPEAKER_06No, we did not buy any merch. Of course not, of course not. That is not a good that's not a good selling point on merch. No, I thought it was hilarious because it was. No, it is hilarious, it's hilarious joke. Yeah. So it's nothing like our boy Taylor Clark shout out of recovery skateboarders.
SPEAKER_07I don't know. I was a fan of it. I thought it was great, but shout out to our our buddy Taylor Clark as well. But no, that I mean basically, shoot, we've been running for about an hour and twenty now, and uh that is basically covered the majority of my Vegas
Wrap Up And Listener Support
SPEAKER_07trip. Dude.
SPEAKER_06And getting married. It man, I wish I could have been there. I would have been the fucking hellest best third wheel you would have ever seen. Of course, I would have getting real weird with it because you're like, is mush mushrooms legal here? I'm like, I got mushrooms. You're like, where'd you get those? I was talking to a guy downstairs, don't worry. But no, man, I'm so so beyond stoked for you and Courtney. Courtney, welcome to the family. We love you. Paul loves you more than I ever will, but I I'm so happy for y'all, man. Congratulations. The trip sounds amazing. I'd seen the pictures, it looks impeccable. Jesus Christ, man.

Elvis Ceremony Vows Clip
SPEAKER_04Everybody says I got it.
SPEAKER_05Good job, guys. Well, here we are in the city of Lights, Las Vegas, Nevada. The world famous Grayson Wen Chapel. We're here to celebrate a promise of love. I do. And Courtney, do you say Paul to be your lovely better husband?
SPEAKER_12I do.
SPEAKER_05Good answers, guys. Marriage is two hearts with one love that grows greater through the years and is treasured above all of us. Marriage is a promise. To communicate and to share, to treat each other with respect, to care and to listen to one another. But marriage is also a commitment between a husband and a wife. To be not only each other's lover, but above all and most importantly, Elvis' lover. Paul, look her in the eyes and tell her, I take you to be my loving wife. I take you to be my loving wife. In good times and bad. In good times and bad. In sickness and health. In sickness and health. For richer for poorer. For richer for poorer. For now and forever. For now and forever. Very nice. And as you place everyone Paul's finger, look him in the eyes and tell him, I take you to be my loving husband. In good times and bad.
SPEAKER_10In good times and bad.
SPEAKER_05In sickness and health.
SPEAKER_10In sickness and health.
SPEAKER_05For richer and for poorer.
SPEAKER_10For richer and for poorer.
SPEAKER_05For now and forever.
SPEAKER_10For now and forever.
SPEAKER_05We have some special vows to hold hands, look into each other's eyes, and repeat together.
SPEAKER_04Tell each other, I promise, to always love you tender. Always love you tender. And never leave you. And never leave you at Heartbreak Hotel. At Heartbreak Hotel. I will never have I will never have a suspicious mind. A suspicious mind. And from this day, and from this day, I promise to be. I promise to be. Your hunker hunker burning love.
SPEAKER_05Your hunker hunker burning love. Yeah, very nice, guys. Well, let me just say, may your love always sustain you two in trying times, but make those happy times even more wonderful and fulfilling as the years go by. So on behalf of the Grace of Wenchapel, the suit that I wear, thank you very much, was empowered as we have Saint Naval. Somehow, I now see you, husband and wife, kiss your bride, mother.
