SPEAKER_02But anyway, we uh we still wanted to tap in with you, and uh there's kind of a couple of hot topics uh going on right now that we definitely wanted to touch on. Um one um obviously being the brutal murder of Tyree Nichols. Um but we will we will get into that in a few. Um also we're gonna kind of go over a few shows and stuff that we've been watching lately that have kept us entertained in our downtime and you know, before bedtime. And uh and I think then we might uh we might talk a little jags and football and and then uh maybe hear a story from Doc about how you were banned by the only in Duval social media account. So dude.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, very, very, very stoked for uh I can't believe I forgot that happened, dude. I should have told that's one of the first times I was ever on the podcast.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. So definitely looking forward to that. But um, I think for for now, I think what we'll probably start off with is we'll go a little lighthearted.
Jaguars Season Shock Turnaround
SPEAKER_02Um, and uh we'll we're gonna start off talking a little bit of Jags football. So uh Duval stand up. Yeah, there I had us on mute there because I didn't want you talking through the intro. But as you can tell, that's uh a little dated. Most of those players, if not all of them, are no longer on the Jaguars. It's like I was there or something though. But anyway, uh still gets us hyped. Um yeah, man, so really surprising uh season for the Jaguars, going from worst in the NFL two years in a row to being first in their division.
SPEAKER_03Winning the division.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, winning their division and and getting a playoff win, um, and then actually going into Kansas City and and battling. And if it wasn't for two critical mistakes that the Jags made down the stretch, I mean, they were in that game. I mean, there's a strong possibility they would have won that game.
SPEAKER_03I mean, first first off, shout out to every team that's in the championships. Like, you know, the AFC and NFC with the Bengals and the Chiefs, and obviously the Eagles and um San Francisco and stuff. Shout out to them. They they worked.
SPEAKER_02Shout out to all three except for uh the Bengals.
SPEAKER_03Uh, you know, I I don't know why you don't like the Bengals, but I'm a Stiller fan. Oh. Well, okay, there's that. All right, you said it, I didn't.
SPEAKER_02Because they're a trash organization. Them and the brownies. Anyway, let's move on. We're talking Jaguars.
SPEAKER_03You don't think you want to hear Dan Soder fucking bitch all week about the fucking San Francisco not be making it to the Super Bowl to Big J? Because the Eagles beat him? No, I want to hear that. But um, anyways, so with the Jags, dude, like, yeah, season started great. I think we went 2-0, 3-0, I think.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Well, so yeah. So to start off, I think what the season opener was in LA, right, against the Chargers. Yep. And uh they put the smack down. It was like 38-14 or something. 38 to 10. 38 to 10. There you go. So uh laid the smack down. They have notoriously and historically uh played awful on the West Coast. So not only, and in the past couple of years, they have won only like what one other like road game, I think. Yeah, I think it was one other road game. Yeah, it was like literally in the past few years, they've been awful on the road. I shit, they had been awful at home, too. They were the worst team in the NFL you know the previous two years. They had the number one overall draft draft pick. Yeah, so we'll get into that in a second. But um seriously though, uh and then they played the Colts. Yeah, they went into LA. That kind of set the tone for this might be different now that there's an actual uh uh competent coaching staff uh that is game planning for the strengths uh strengths words of his of his players.
SPEAKER_03Um but yeah, um they they they started to falter there. Well, they played the Colts next and they beat the Colts 24-0. They knocked the shit, the they knocked a dog shit out of the Colts.
SPEAKER_02Right, and but but then they had a a couple of a few game losing streak where they ended up just like my Stillers halfway through the season two and six, which was once again feeling like after that hot start to those first two games, going on the road and beating the Chargers in LA, on the West Coast on the road and beating a team that has had your number the past several years, then going into you know playing a division rival, whooping that ass, and then it was a stutter. But if you actually look at the games, and this is what I was explaining to my wife, they were two and six. However, all of those games, every game they lost this year, other than the Detroit game, I believe was within one touchdown.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was close. It was close to the game.
SPEAKER_02They might have had another one where it was like a ten-point loss, but I I really don't think so. I think every other game they had was within seven to three points of you know, which they're competing, they're in it. I mean, you look at the Washington game, they were dr it was two minutes, little less than it was a two-minute drill, a little less than two minutes. They're driving down the field, which would be a game-winning drive, and Trevor throws an ill-advised interception. So, you know, learning curve, obviously they went back in tape and they cleaned all that up because after struggling for a few weeks, they hit the halfway point in the season and shit started clicking.
SPEAKER_03Well, they went up to four and eight. They went up to four and eight, and then they won the next five, their last five games straight in a row.
SPEAKER_02Right, but yeah, so if you look at that, they were uh seven and two in their last nine games. So you can even include we were we're talking from that that four that or uh that six-game losing streak from when they started two and oh to to being two and six, it
Close Losses And Trevor’s Learning Curve
SPEAKER_02felt like oh no, here we jag again, if you will. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03Another goddamn year, dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01No, we are the Jaguars are worlds above the fucking brownies. I was feeling like that again. Yeah, uh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, there's no explanation for it. It's not wrong.
SPEAKER_02Let's put it this way. The Jags were in the AFC Championship in 2017. The Browns haven't been in the AFC Championship since I was 1953.
SPEAKER_03You were two years old, weren't you? Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, I was about to say, honestly, I don't think they've been in the AFC Championship since I've been alive. And I was born in 85.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, they definitely have not. Um definitely have not.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so anyway, fuck the Browns.
SPEAKER_03But then we go to the Chargers in the playoffs again.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes. So let's so so then they go on a tear, and and let's just talk about that end of the year um winning streak because um dude. Shit got real. I mean, okay, they beat Baltimore, two-minute drive, yeah, game-winning drive. When they were going shot for shot with the Ravens, Lamar was playing, um, they win that one. Dallas comes into town, same thing. Ray Sean Jenkins, which with you know, you know, pick six to win the game. When it was, you know, like I think a minute and a half left, Cowboys got the ball deep in their territory, and they were answered, and they were trying to dig themselves out of a hole, and Rashawn Jenkins jumps the route right in his gut, catches it, stroll in for a touchdown. Then we talk about the Jets game when they go up to New York. Yep. All right, and I mean, so this is like you know, we it's a five. They were like, yeah, three, yeah, they were in LE three. And it wasn't just like no, they none of them were dominating performances. They were a lot of comebacks, if you will. Yes. But, you know, with those comebacks, you can say, I mean, what makes especially these star quarterbacks great? It's their ability to win, you know that well what separates good from great in the NFL is that when it comes down to two minutes and you're down by seven and you need to tie, or you're down by four and you need to drive to win the game, or even down by three. These guys can do it. And Trevor, after his rookie year, we got to put an asterisk by it because you have Urban Meyer who's his coach.
SPEAKER_03That yeah, that's an asterisk dog. That's like every time Barry Bonds played. There's an asterisk there now.
SPEAKER_02I look at, you know, Trevor and Travis Etienne kind of this was almost really their rookie year. Travis had no playing time last year, but Trevor had playing time with a coaching staff that was not game planning for their team ahead of time. I mean, it was a it was a dumpster fire. So I feel like you definitely have to take his proc progression into consideration in the fact that he had nobody really helping set him up for success.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, he did he definitely didn't, man. And you could kind of see it in his face all last season, like and he's just like, uh, I mean, uh well, we're trying, you know. Yeah, yeah. I guess I guess coach is too busy trying to get some young Kunana at the bar and his wife's pissed, but you know, whatever, dude. Hey, he's over here kicking our kicker. Yeah, he's mad as shit, man. I think he said the N-word once or something like that. You know, we all heard it. We're not gonna talk about it though.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, so anyway, we uh, you know, got to put an asterisk by his ear last year, but I think that, you know, so if you just take this into the sample size of Trevor's development this year, now you saw immediately in a system with a quarterback coach and an offensive-minded coach, a Super Bowl-winning coach. Um you you saw early on what this could look like with the routing of the Chargers week one and then the the Colts the following week. Now, as the season went on, and obviously everybody's all teams, even the teams that were struggling, as the team goes on, obviously the chemistry is gonna build, you're gonna gel. I mean, look at the Houston Texans. You know, they were like awful all year, but towards the end, they started competing a little bit more. They even won a couple of games.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, they beat one against us. Their their first win of the season was against the Jags.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. So um we, you know, when you get to the NFL level, everybody obviously this goes without saying is professional. Everybody's big and fast and strong and good at their position. Um, I think that's where coaching and game planning and uh it really comes a lot into play.
SPEAKER_03And that's like the difference between good last year and great and this year.
SPEAKER_02Because you look at we lost you know a couple a couple a couple of players last year, but for the most part, they added some some people.
SPEAKER_03Marvin Jones Jr., say Jones, uh Christian.
SPEAKER_02Christian Kirk, uh, um um uh Ebon Ingram.
SPEAKER_03Did you see the thing that um Kevin Durant was saying about Christian Kirk? Yeah, yeah, that they posted.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he said he's you know, Christian Kirk, he thought he was overpaid, and then uh the the way he showed up this year, he's like, Yeah, he shut me up. Yeah, he shut the whole NFL up. I mean, there's people trolling him, and I gotta give props to the Jaguars social media team because after clinching the division and going to the playoffs, they did this awesome little edit of uh, you know, all the naysayers and everybody on social media. Oh, yeah, they're Kevin Ingram signing trash, Christian Kirk overpaid, black like all of this, and then it's like, yeah, we kept receipts.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. This is tax reductible, Doug.
SPEAKER_02Yep, yep, yep.
SPEAKER_03Hey, and everything you say is on footage and the camera's pointed at you, so it's it goes both ways. I mean, you I don't know, man. I really don't think that like uh you shouldn't really speak on things just because you're gonna speak out of like how you feel about certain things in a situation. It's better to let it kind of play out, but where you can actually speak facts on it, I feel like when it comes to sports and shit at least.
SPEAKER_02Yes, well, this is also Insta world where everything is on the internet like we're doing right now, and we're we're podcasting and streaming and we are spewing our opinions, so um it's just kind of the nature of the game that we're in, my friend. But let's talk about league rankings for the Jaguars, okay? Because if you go back a year, they were uh 30, 31, or 32 in almost every statistical category it felt like, right? And even the year before that. So league rankings for their passing, they finished 12th, rushing 14th, points ninth, tackles 12th. Sacks is where they were kind of hurt and they weren't within the top 15. Um and in the sacks they ranked 25th. Uh, I feel like the quarterback pressure kind of turned up a little bit towards the end of the season. I would like to see, you know, uh some depth added there. I know they had lost Miles Jack, he signed with my Steelers in free agency. And you got son of a bitch.
SPEAKER_03Uh well, what I was gonna say is um I think really they kind of have to build up the offensive line a little bit more with this upcoming draft.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, they've got their quarterback. I think even in Bathard, you you've got a solid backup. I think um,
Receipts On Free Agents Paying Off
SPEAKER_02you know, a lot of people forget they traded at the deadline for Calvin Ridley. He was suspended for some some nonsense gambling.
SPEAKER_03We have him coming back, we have him coming next season.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, which it's still completely asinine. I just want to say this one point and then I'll move on and we can keep going with the conversation. But he was suspended an entire season for gambling, and Deshaun Watkins wasn't for 24 sexual assault and rape allegations or misconduct, like with all my seos and weird shit like that. Yeah, crazy.
SPEAKER_03How tense can your body really be, son?
SPEAKER_02I think he was only tense in one area and he was trying to relieve that pressure. Yeah, but anyway, so tension lower inner interceptions, they also they ranked twelfth. So if you look at all of the major league uh statistical rankings, um, they're top 15 um in all of them except for Sacks. So I think that you know, and even talking at the beginning of this year with my father um and a couple other people, and my my good my good buddy Rooks, I was saying I thought that the Jags ceiling with the roster that they had and just adding Doug Peterson in in that coaching staff and that structure that he would bring in, um, that their ceiling was a nine or ten win season. I thought their floor was four win, but I thought they'd be competitive all year. Um which it always feels nice when I get that phone call or that text from my friends, like when I like make a prediction and they're like, You were right, man, you were spot on. Like, hell yeah.
SPEAKER_03I'm never calling you with that, dude. Uh uh. I won't let you have it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, it's okay. Because when when we discuss something and I know that I'm like and I'm like, oh, I should be expecting a call from Chris. He's too prideful, he's too prideful.
SPEAKER_03But um I'm s I'm the lion, I'm the fucking lion sin pride.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, we uh, you know, it was it was a little bit of a disappointing year, I think, for for for Josh Allen. Um I think we definitely got it, you know, and that the quarterback sacks and pressures statistics kind of show that. Um they got they gotta figure out a way defensively to continue to put more pressure on the opposing quarterbacks, um, especially when you're gonna be competing against teams like Buffalo, Kansas City, Cincinnati, you know what I mean? Um Jaguars. Well, no, that's what I'm talking about. The Jaguars need to improve that. Yeah. Oh, no, of course. Yeah, so when you're playing against those kind of teams, and even we'll see what happens with the the Lamar situation in Baltimore, but um the you you got you gotta get after the quarterback and they gotta improve there. But I think that offensively, I think the way that they're clicking and their cohesiveness there, with the addition of Calvin Ridley coming, um, I they're gonna be a top ten offense for sure next year.
SPEAKER_03Who well, you know, DeAndre Hopkins is uh leaving uh the Cardinals, and he said there's only two places he wants to go. He either wants to go to the Chargers or he wants to be with the Jaguars. And if we got DeAndre Hopkins, watch the fuck out.
SPEAKER_02Best receiving core in the NFL. That's where, yeah, he'd want to be with us. Like, oh, dude. That's what I'm saying, is like I was talking to my wife about it um too. She's a diehard Jags fan. Obviously, everybody knows I'm from Pittsburgh originally. Steelers are my team, but but I I support the Jags, I root for them. Um, there will be one game next year where I'm not rooting for the Jags, and that's when they come to the berg uh to lose to the Steelers.
SPEAKER_03You know what? We're gonna make a live bet on that, right?
SPEAKER_02Oh, we're gonna do we're gonna do we're gonna do a watch along, so no worries.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna be yeah, we're gonna have to be betting bet on betting on plays and shit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so in bring all your quarters. 2022, we'll talk about uh Josh Allen here. Oh, he did actually have seven sacks. Which, I mean, okay. Seven sacks is good production, all right? You would expect that from maybe his counterpart. Josh Allen is kind of like their number one.
SPEAKER_03He's like Well uh Josh Allen is he really is an impeccable player, but I think the reason why he can't get in there as quickly or as much as he would like to is because we honestly we need better cornerbacks and we need better safeties.
SPEAKER_02Right, but he's like the equivalent of our TJ Watt. Yes, he is the face of that linebacking core. He is like, you know, so we have this year we had TJ Watt, who was you know out most of the year with a pectoral torn, you know, torn pectoral muscle. And he retired.
SPEAKER_03No, he didn't. Oh, that was his brother. JJ.
SPEAKER_02TJ definitely didn't retire. Yeah, my black. No, he's got about another 10 in him. Um but his counterpart, Alex Highsmith, when he was out, I mean, Alex had a a really good year because of the absence of TJ. Right. Um both of them, their production really is predicated on the defensive front, you know, big Cam Hayward, Tyson Aluwalu, you know. Oh, you mean everybody like I from the Jags? I got you. No, that we've gotten two players from the Jags, Tyson Aluwalu and Miles Jack. Yeah, I know. I know. Cam Hayward was drafted by the Stillers. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03I know that I know that, but still Aluwalu and Miles, it still hurts, man. Yes, I know. It's all good. It's all good.
SPEAKER_02But um, no, I think that uh, you know, they've got Evan Ingram and as a tight end. And this is another thing that I think that they should address. Uh, you know, obviously the offensive line, they definitely need to add some depth there. They need to add some depth, I feel like, uh, on the on the on the defensive front, um to increase that that quarterback pressure and in winning the line of scrimmage in the trenches. Um but I would really like they've got Dan Arnold as a tight end, and they've got uh Evan Ingram, and everybody knows Doug Peterson runs a very tight end friendly offense. Um Evan Ingram initially signed a one-year deal because he was unsure of how you know he he wanted to see how the season went. I know he's been vocal about wanting to and being willing to resign to to a lot. I I say you sign him to a three or four-year deal. Okay. You draft a tight end, if not this year, next year. You get him in the developmental stage, so that by the time the Ingram's contract is playing out, you've got a young tight end who's kind of come up and developed in your system a little bit. Um, that you got him on a rookie contract, so you're not spending a lot of money. Right. And as Ingram's contract expires, then you have that, you know, and and just kind of keep that's the draft in development. You've brought in some free agents this year or last year to really help impact your team. Right. You know, maybe one or two free agent signings um here and there, but for the most part, I really think you keep these guys in-house for now and uh and really work on drafting and developing or you know, signing undrafted, you know, you know, however the means, but you gotta start stockpiling the system so that you can turn this organization into something like the New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens, you know what I'm saying? Where they just they reload, they they just draft and develop and they reload, and you're like, oh, TJ Watts out, oh, their defense they're gonna have a shitty. They're like, but no, the next man up. You know what I mean? When you don't have people that are you're developing in your system, it's kind of hard to do that.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, for sure. And like uh, you know, the thing that we also gotta understand is Zay Jones and Marvin Jones Jr Jr. were all signed on one year contracts as well, like Evan Ingram. So we gotta see if we're going to who we're gonna keep. Depending on if we can get DeAndre Hopkins or something, I'm gonna assume we're gonna lose one of them. More than likely, it'd probably end up being Marvin Jones Jr.

SPEAKER_03Which that's fine because I want a Zay Jones jersey anyways. Can have Jones Jr. I'm the first son.
SPEAKER_02Nice, I like it. Um Yeah, no, I uh yeah, I I mean if they could bring in DeAndre Hopkins, obviously his veteran leadership um with the coaching staff, with Trevor delivering the balls, the backfield, you know, the running backs that they got.
SPEAKER_03Oh, dude, they they the the defense would be so s they they would spread out trying to double because you want to double Christian Kirk if you can. Yeah, you want to double maybe triple DeAndre Hopkins if you can, and you know Zay Jones has got the long ball every and which time. And not to mention you got Calvin Ridley coming in.
SPEAKER_02So I mean, yeah, they're like the weapons galore for sure. Yeah. Um now I will say this uh, you know, Doug Peterson, in my opinion, and then
Draft Needs And Coach Of Year Case
SPEAKER_02we'll we'll kind of end on this note and move on. Um, Doug Peterson is hands down the coach of the year, in my opinion, and I'll and I'll state the case for it. I know a lot of people have been talking about Brian Dable. He was the offensive coordinator in Buffalo who was hired last offseason as the head coach in New York for the Giants. Um they ended up in the playoffs as well, even got a playoff victory on the road in Minnesota. Um, great, great job. However, they weren't last in the league the previous two years. Um fair point. The only reason why I feel like a lot of people are talking about him is because New York and Los Angeles are the two biggest sports and entertainment markets in our country, and some of the biggest in the world. So, with that being said, if Jacksonville was anywhere near the on that level of a market, I think it would be a hands-down conversation. I think it's literally because he coaches for New York is the only reason. The Jaguars were worse than the NFL two years in a row, had an awful coaching situation that we have, you know, discussed earlier in this segment. Now they come in two hot games, then a losing streak, and then there's even footage of Doug Peterson after week eight telling the guys to regroup and get ready because they will be playing football in January.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. Yep. He's like, I got a premonition, and it's gonna come down to the last game.
SPEAKER_02And guess what? Yep, they did. Yep. My wife and I were at the Tennessee game. It was electric, it felt like a playoff game.
SPEAKER_03My hands are standing up right now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that victory was insane. You lent me your your Trevor Lawrence jersey. Yes, I did. Um, and it was a hell of a time. So I gotta say, and then even like you look at the comeback, bro, the Chargers, they were down 27-nothing. We were on our way to the Bahamas. We were at the hotel before we left to go to the Bahamas, and we went to a Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the game. And naturally, we watched till almost halftime. The girls were getting a little tired. So we headed back to the hotel. My wife was getting bummed, and I was like, look, it's not over till it's over. And she was like, We're down 27-0. I said, They have come back from 17 and 20 points in the last five weeks to win the game. Yep. I was like, I won't feel like we are out of it until it gets fourth quarter and we're down by three or four touchdowns. If we're down by three or four touchdowns and not able to stop them, then I'll feel like we're, you know, we're out of it. And you can't say that about this team last year. This team didn't seem like they were even in it last year. So Doug Peterson, to me, is hands down the coach of the year because not only did he change the culture of the that team, he has changed the culture of this city. Yeah. The vibe around town has been awesome. The unity around town, around the team has been awesome. Yep. And now the expectations here are not that we are the laughing stock of the NFL, that we hope to compete for a wild card playoff spot. No. The expectation is we're coming back to defend our division title and we are competing to win a Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we're yeah, we're gonna be in the playoffs for a very long, long, long time to come.
SPEAKER_02In the Jaguars history, has that been the expectation to win a Super Bowl or compete, not win, but compete to go to the Super Bowl the following year?
SPEAKER_031995, 1996, and 2018. And 1999.
SPEAKER_02Well, I was gonna say, well, early on, you know, because I know and they did have that original six. Yeah, okay, there you go. Then I was gonna say 2018, because remember that 2017 they played in the AFC Championship game. Yes. And everybody thought Miles Jack wasn't down.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I thought the same.
SPEAKER_02Well, yes, that's just like the Jesse James touchdown. When you play the Patriots, and and I don't know if you're familiar with this play, but we were playing against the Patriots. Politics Segment Starts With Tyre Nichols
SPEAKER_02And you know I got the doctor with me. And we're uh coming back with you. We're gonna take this minute to go ahead and kind of introduce a new segment that I've been talking about doing. Um it's just really uh unfortunate, painful, and devastating that we're kind of premiering it um under these circumstances um in the wake of the brutal beating murder of Tyree Nichols. So uh moving forward, we're gonna have a segment where we discuss current events and politics and kind of the political climate of our society and our country in a uh little segment that I like to call politics.
SPEAKER_01So uh let's kick it off, my dude. And so in my state of the my state of the union or state, my speech to the nation, whatever you want to call it, what I say is what I say.
SPEAKER_07We got an issue in America. I did not have sexual relations with that woman. I don't wear it to I never told anybody to lie, but I like service to America for the American people. What do you mean? I'm a gentleman, Hillary. What kind of country do we be? But I want to say one thing to the American people. I want to build a wall. I want to build a wall. I want to build a wall. They need the wall. And Mexico will pay for the wall. I just have one thing to say.
SPEAKER_02So this is uh politics. Um when I first edited that little production, it was meant to be funny and kind of poke fun at the ridiculousness of our elected leaders. Um but with this segment and the severity of the content and the context of it, um it's definitely a very politically hot topic right now, and we just kind of want to give our thoughts and opinions on it. Um have you seen the video yet, Chris?
SPEAKER_03I have not watched the video. I really uh I kind of l ignored it because I figured we probably would. And I really wanted to get like my first like real reaction. I understand the story, and I I know what happened, I've just never seen the actual footage of it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they just released the footage on Friday night. This is uh Sunday the 29th. Um they released it uh on Friday the 27th, um, and I'd seen some snippets of it. Um
First Reaction To The Footage
SPEAKER_02but we'll uh we'll go ahead and and play it here in a second. Uh what I would really like to say from my initial um uh reaction to it was that it was just pack mentality. It's once again humans displaying behavior that proves that we are not as far from animals as we think we are. It reminded me of a pack of dogs. Um Wolves. Yeah, I mean when one when one dog like I've been chased by stray dogs, you know, skating through Sin City, you know, near the skate park, you know, going down to the the corner store for blunts, and you know, one stray dog, and I mean there's it'd be like a pug and a chihuahua, but then there's like a Rottweiler mix and a lab and this and that, and it's like one of them looks at you weird and they're you know, then they all focus in on you, and you know, it's just perpetuates that like that violence. It's like it triggers something.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's terrifying, man.
SPEAKER_02It triggers something primal.
SPEAKER_03It's that fight or flight kind of feeling.
SPEAKER_02And yeah, and that's what it really reminded me of. I thought I was watching something on uh like an Instagram account like nature is metal, or you know, it was very brutal and disturbing and not something that you would expect from you know, such intelligent emotional beings. Let alone in a country that claims to be free, equal, and like the land of opportunity. And it definitely is something reminiscent of, you know, the Gestapo or the SS pulling, you know, Jews out and beating them, or the Ku Klux Klan, um, you know, lynching young black kids. And you know, like it's it's awful, it's disturbing, and the only thing I can say is that uh the accountability uh from the local government to immediately fire and charge all five of those officers, I believe.

SPEAKER_02Um I applaud them for that.
SPEAKER_03And uh honestly, we with the whole the entire thing really like it it truly disgusts me. And in a way that like uh it kind of reaches a deeper point for me uh because uh some people may not know this, but Tyree was a skateboarder as well, just like all of us. Most of us uh that listen to this podcast, uh that y'all skateboard and we all connect on a different way that you can't explain in words. And uh watching the video, it just you know, I've I've seen fucking cops get overreacted with skateboarders and shit and be completely over-aggressive for no reason whatsoever.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they think they think that they can intimidate everybody.
SPEAKER_03And the thing is that like people don't realize and recognize most of the time anymore is that they are public servants. Yeah, we pay their salary. They work for us. We need to remind them of that. And that's something that's very important, and I think it's very, very important that whenever you're given a gun and a badge, you have to go through strenuous testing to see what your psychological level is, to see how you would react in certain situations, to see if you would make the right decision, and you know, do these tests, do these virtual things. We have all the material we have uh, we have resources, yeah, and we have the funding. And and I think that's a very, very big thing to start to changing situations like this from ever happening again.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um people out there um that are just back the police blindly, um, yeah, I mean you have to you have to realize, like, when we say we pay their salary, we do. Like there was times when I was a young kid that my mom could even attest to like I was just a young kid, like skateboarding, or like one time I could tell you we first moved to Jacksonville, Florida, we lived off San Pablo Road, and it was like me and my brother and friends, we were exploring the woods around, and we basically got confronted with a uh angry guy with a shotgun because we wandered onto his property, and he ended up calling the cops on us. And my mom was shaking and in tears um by the way that when the police showed up at our house, they're threatening aggressive demeanor. My mom doesn't have a criminal record. My mom doesn't have tattoos, she's not like a counterculture, she is a peace-love vegetarian, like you've met my mom, she's the most non-threatening woman ever. And just in the way that they just uh uh deploy these tactics of intimidation, whether you're a victim or a criminal, um, needs to be reformed. We we we spend m m tens of millions of dollars as a country buying uh obsolete military weapons and vehicles and equipment and body armor for our law enforcement, right? Which I understand you have to have SWAT teams and such for severe instances. Most of these things that they purchase goes unused and it just sits there for the what if, but they stockpile it because they can get it on a discount and the military is selling it, and it keeps the money circulating from law enforcement to the military and back and forth again. And if we allocated just a fraction of that money to properly vetting, also I don't know if you see this, but I see recruiting signs for for law enforcement all over. Yeah, constantly because their numbers are dwindling because people are seeing through the bullshit. Um you know, and if if we could allocate this, I mean which makes me think that they are willing to accept anybody, you know what I mean? Yeah. And and and honestly, it's a gang mentality. Exactly. And I've been saying this for a while. There's no difference between their navy blue and the cryp blue or the the Latin King gold or the blood red. Right. None. And uh, you know, uh Because they protect their own even when they do something illegal, if this hadn't thank God for social media and technology and all of the citizens out there that film them, good. Protect yourselves. Protect yourselves because they use their body cams to protect them and they manipulate it, as proven in the video of the murder of Tyree Nichols. The cops repeatedly say, Give me your hands, give me your hands, give me your hands. They already had his hands from the traffic camera. All this was filmed from the perspective of like a traffic corner camera. So they were doing that for their body cam audio so that when they, you know, what they could justify and
Public Servants And Real Reform Ideas
SPEAKER_02they could lie and protect themselves in their own. Yes. And I would like to go ahead and clarify: this is not, you know, George Floyd, you know, Mike Brown, like there's been a lot of, you know, that have brought up racial tension because a lot of time has been a minority with a white officer or not a black officer, you know. Two of the men standing there that went to prison with George Floyd, though they didn't have their knees on his neck, they were minorities. This instance right here, this is five black cops beating to death a a young black man, a 29-year-old young black man. He looked like he stood probably about my height, a little over six foot or so. He was skinny, very like non-threatening. Like I'm not a threatening guy, like you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Like, I'm pretty sure you could have beat your ass, dude. Yeah, probably could have, you know.
SPEAKER_02But the then these are five black cops, and so it's not so much about race, it's uh where I feel like, yes, there's you can't deny the history of what happened. Excessive abuse by police on minorities, especially African Americans. But I think as we've moved into this more globalized world in in the modern era in 2023, it's more lower income, you know, and they whether you're you're black, Hispanic, you know, Arab, fucking, you know, white, Native American, like they if you come from a l or you are in a lower income area, they treat you whether you're a victim or not, like you are a criminal. And they treat you with a type of force.
SPEAKER_03I've you know especially a skateboarders.
SPEAKER_02We've experienced it a lot more than a lot of other people really do that live their day-to-day that aren't actually like out in the streets and well our whole our whole lives are perpetuated on running from the cops because or security, because you know, if if you're caught skating a place and then you um you know the cops or security shows up, you run. Worst case scenario, what you think they catch you, they you know, maybe like s tackle you to the ground and put you in handcuffs, right? And then you get a court summons, maybe go to jail for eight to twelve hours, but you get out on your own recognizance, yep, you pay a four hundred, five hundred dollar fine, bullshit, and then you're over it. Fucking hate it, dude. Right? But like the money scam, dude. Right it yes, completely. However, but you know what I'm saying? Like because I I did hear claims there's weird, like when the I feel like the police were initially trying to justify things. Oh, well, he ran. I don't care if he fucking ran, bro.
SPEAKER_03You don't once you caught up to him and you had control of the situation, everything else is inexcusable.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so I'm gonna go ahead and uh we're gonna go you'll hear some of the audio. We'll kind of talk as we watch some things, but my guy hasn't seen any of it. So this is uh essentially five-minute long video that we'll watch a little bit of when they first pull him out of the car. They're yanking him out of the car. He's not necessarily resisting. He's just questioning what the fuck, I didn't do anything.

SPEAKER_02Yeah, they already have him to his knees. They're trying to shove him down to his face. He's sitting down. I don't know, he's not even on his knees, he's on his hip at this point. They have a taser down. They have a taser up against his left thigh. There's two men that have his arms. There's another man holding him from behind from the back. Yeah, that's the one we have to do. And this whole time they're telling him to get on the ground and hold the hold, give me your hands. They have his hands and he's on the ground. Fuck it, dude. So at this point, he is freaking out. He's managed to stumble to his feet and they tase him. And this is where he runs because a gang of men with weapons and badges yanked him out of the car and are beating him. And this is a black man in 2023 after witnessing how many. I mean, the George Floyd thing, nine minutes with a knee on his neck. He's not running because he committed a crime. He's running because he doesn't want to die. And he's so for a brains and Ross.

You see him, one guy has him from behind with his arms around him, and the other guy is in front of him, punching him in the face. This is mobster gangster shit.

SPEAKER_02And so let me clarify something for everybody that doesn't understand what the riots were about after George Floyd, and I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of civil unrest after this as well. Um It's reminding all you fucks out there that forget that we pay their salary. Yes, there's law and order, but who votes on the laws? We the people. Who pays these public servants' salary? We the people with our taxes. Who who elects these people into office? We the people. And you we allow these politicians to create, you know, have careers where they really don't get shit done. They're just really good at talking and wearing a fucking suit to look real pretty for you. So you can, you know, look at them on the TV with their blue tie and red pen or vice versa and be like, God bless America.

You know, there's we get distracted with all of these things currently in our society and people getting so easily offended and wanting to, you know, cancel this person and rate label this person a racist or a prejudice or or this person a bigot or whatever. We have real issues at hand. All that does, that discourse over really kind of like I don't really want to undermine anybody's struggle. That's not what I'm intending to do. I just think we really need to uh damn he's dead right there. Yeah. I I I sorry, the video's still playing and it's it's hard to it's hard to watch. I think we need to zone in on certain issues and put all of our faith and force into changing those issues. I feel like it's like, okay, when we had black lives matter, then all of a sudden we had black trans lives matter. And it was like, okay, well, if they're black and they're trans, doesn't that go under black lives matter? Right? Wouldn't you assume? Like, why are you why are we continuing to put ourselves in boxes? It's it's just continually separating and in the same, it's like black lives matter, and they get so upset if someone even says yes and all lives matter. You're taking it as like a threat. It's really, you know, which it's turned into this weird thing of uh you know, the context of it all. I just find it to be a tool of distraction. And it's why this is still happening. It's because we can't uh unify as a society to fix the major glaring issues, the wealth gap in this country, and the fact that the 1% have more than the 99% combined. Okay? The fact that we have this, you know, police brutality still happening, you know. Um skateboarder. But you know, it it's just you know, then then you uh you let all these small things, you know, catch fire on social media, which distracts us because everybody wants to be a victim. Okay. I can tell you this. You don't have to tell me that you're a victim for me to know that you're a victim. If you've lived in life you you've had something tragic happen, whether it's the loss of a loved one or you know, the the mistrust of someone that you trusted, you know, sexual abuse, something like that. You know, whether you've been robbed at gunpoint, whether you've been, you know, i it we have all had tribulations and tragedies in our lives. We're all victims. We need to stop making uh such a big deal out of things that truly aren't, and we need to fix the things that are a big deal. Because a young man, a 29-year-old man, and a father of a four-year-old child, I believe, yeah, uh was beaten to death by five police officers.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I can tell you this personally, man. There are no angels in hell. And you know, we as you were saying, we all go through something. If you live life long enough, you've experienced something that's really uh kind of made you really question what you really knew entirely, for the most part. Like if you lost trust in somebody, or if somebody did you dirty and once again you d somebody that you cared and loved a lot about and you trusted them with everything, and then they turn their back on you. And I'm not even talking about like relationships with like you know, husband and wife, or husband and husband, or you know, however people want to be right. Right, right, right. But what I'm saying is is that you learn that like okay, bad shit doesn't it happens. There are shitty fucking people in this world, and you know what? I think it's honestly a lot more of them are getting captured and caught on camera, proving who they truly are, yep, rather than what went under the radar years and years ago, because there is a camera everywhere.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and and as a society, we try to portray, you know, our law all all of our law enforcement officers are heroes. No, they're not. Okay? If if half the people out in our society are committing crimes, I can I guarantee fucking tea, half the cops are there. I mean, we just had a Clay County sheriff's officer uh, you know, get arrested because he has been using his badge to molest and rape like a 12-year-old girl for months. You know what I mean? These is not just isolated and this is not just men. I mean, you just heard about another female teacher who'd been engaging in inappropriate behavior with her students, you know.
SPEAKER_03I mean, it's like that lady officer in Tennessee as well, who's banging up the whole station.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so this is just there, there are bad people in life in general, and we need to stop putting law enforcement and military on a pedestal because they sign up as a career path because of benefits. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Not all of them are heroes. You know that cop that just got sentenced to a hundred years for putting uh being aware and knowing that his wife was putting his semen in cupcakes for her class or something like that.

SPEAKER_02Like that's no idea. Those are just sick, fucked individuals. And so that's my point is that yes, not all cops are bad. You know, I'm an independent, I'm a moderate, I am an empath. You know, I I I I I'm sympathetic and I'm empathetic to people and their struggles, and that includes law enforcement and military. My problem is the hypocrisy we as a society, and particularly the Republican Party and conservatives, try to put them on this pedestal and they try to paint everybody that you know has civil discourse or situations like this, like, oh, well, he shouldn't have ran. Motherfucker, it was broadcasted less than two years ago. What happened when someone didn't run? He was slowly suffocated. Yep. He was fleeing for his life. And this this isn't anything new. This has been going on for a long time. And this isn't anything limited just to African Americans. There are so many. I mean, I had I know of a friend that was gunned down by cops, you know, and killed. Like I Shout out Santiago.
SPEAKER_03Um stop it. Stop it. No, uh, all right, so I haven't told you about this, but this week um I was I'm gonna say it was like Monday morning. I get out, it's like just get the kids off of school, and I go into the garage and I kind of just like walk out, my little uh net thing and everything, just kind of look up and down the street. It's a bug net on his garage because here in Florida we got bugs. Brutal, brutal. And um, I see two cop cars parked in front of his house down the street that uh it's usually like a bunch of people like fucking, it's always fighting some shit's going on over there. I was like, huh, wonder what's poppin'. And then I kind of get like walk like a few steps up, and then I see the cops are like at my next door neighbor's door. And I'm like, what is this about? Like what's going on here? And then I didn't find out until about a day later, but my neighbor was arrested for uh apparently after he got off work in the morning, he would go to McDonald's, and before it would open, he would urinate on a tree. And so if the McDonald's employees would have worded this right, he would be uh he could be crucified as a sex offender and all that. And he's got a little two-year-old boy and shit. You know what I mean? I know he's not I know he's not any of those things. I just know he's a fucking
Personal Police Stories And Misconduct Stats
SPEAKER_03dumbass. However, that cop was genuinely nice and could see, like, even his mom's like, no, that's my good one, that's my good one. He doesn't do anything. Like he just and but like the cop was actually genuinely nice to him, which you can respect with that. Yo, let me ask you this actually.
SPEAKER_02I don't mean to interrupt you. Have you seen the recent video too of the two cops that showed up to somebody's house, and the one cop was like high as fuck, looked like he was coked out of his mind, like uh. He's like, What is there like? What's your badge number? He's like, Johnson 527. Oh shit. Yeah, it's crazy. Hold on, let me let me see if I can find this. But real quick before I do that, um, what most cops get banned for, I pulled up this statistics right here, this uh bar graph. Drug and alcohol leading, okay, with uh last year 4,537 documented cases. God damn. Assaults and violence, second, with 3,254, other 2,976, dishonesty, 2,777, theft, 2,639, misconduct with prisoners, 2,223. God damn. Um sexual misconduct 1,950, and official misconduct 409. That was from last year nationwide. Holy shit, dude. This is my point. These are regular people and half and they're not to be trusted. They're to be as trusted as they trust you. My recommendation to you is to comply the best that you can so that it doesn't get escalated. They're gonna be disrespectful. You're just gonna have to eat it to to keep it de-escalated.
SPEAKER_03However, if you can find a good point to call a cop a dick, lawfully, don't call him a dick. Take it where you can get it, man.

SPEAKER_03Coke on the So yeah, anyways, he got arrested for being outside of the McDonald's and had to go to jail. And his mom was uh, she's like, Oh, I'm gonna let him sit there for a few hours and everything. But whenever they like went to go get him, like they caught like the officer that arrested him, and he was like, Man, I'm sorry, I gotta do this. Like, even when he was arresting me, super cool.
SPEAKER_02Like, I mean, his k his son was right there and everything, and uh like as it was happening, and then but like whenever he got like Damn, this is crazy, man, because I know this is an ongoing thing because I've seen it on social media, but I can't find it right now. Um, but if you I just like Google search it and I'm like just cop sued for being high on the job. Oh, it's probably ridiculous. Bro, I couldn't find it. I just scrolled down like four pages and it was nowhere. I'm gonna try searching Twitter real quick or Instagram. Holy shit, yeah. But yeah, they should just scrub that one, dude. Well, yeah, I mean, not only that, but I mean this just shows you. Yeah, that's valid.

He was standing on the steps, like one cop was in front of him, and like the guy was filming, and the whole time he was just like, he's like, I'm good, I'm good. He's like, eyes are all rolling all over the place and ground his teeth. Yeah, it was like it was kind of wild. That's math, dude. But um I want to uh kind of close this out and just you know, give my opinion that you know we need to all stop trying to divide ourselves and find reasons why we shouldn't cooperate or communicate or work together because we might you know these are serious issues that are gonna take our whole country coming to grips with to be able to move forward in in with true reform. Okay? Nobody wants to come take your guns. Rednecks, we're good. I got guns. Keep your guns. We're keeping our guns. All we're talking about is reminding that the police officers that we pay their salary instead of spending so much time on training them to keep people talking so that they'll talk themselves into admitting a crime and maybe spend a little bit more money and resources and time training them uh with psychological de-escalation tactics from trained professionals, as well as psychologically vetting these individuals um to make sure that they didn't have any underlying mental health issues or trauma um that would lead them to a triggering situation because their numbers are already dwindling and they're gonna continue to dwindle unless they fix their system.
SPEAKER_03And yeah. Uh for myself personally. Any any final thoughts? Myself personally, um, the way that uh I think is it in my mind is the only proper way to like kinda put my final thoughts down. It's like, oh, you want us to prosecute them quickly, but then when we do, you say, Oh, the only reason why is because the people that did it are now black. And he did a really good job at kind of shining the light on. He's like, no, the the the district attorney that was newly elected there in Memphis, their number one thing was holding pol that they ran on was holding police accountable for situations like this. Right, right, of course, new their newly elected police chief, same thing. Right. So he he had put out several tweets and Instagram posts kind of clarifying for the masses that no, no, no, no, no, no. This is not another because I feel like that would have been something that the internet would have been distracted by. Right, of course, and gotten away from the true problem here. Yeah, and that's that we need for for real, in-depth, comprehensive from the ground up law enforcement reform.

SPEAKER_03Yes. Um uh I did not catch the end of it, so we're gonna not mention that part. Okay. Spoiler alert. Yeah, I I uh I had a little something to do um right before the movie ended, and I was accidentally fall asleep. I'll be honest with you about that.
SPEAKER_02No doubt. Well, uh, I didn't fall asleep. I watched it last night and it was actually uh quite fucking funny.
SPEAKER_03No, it was it was really, really good. Definitely really good.
SPEAKER_02It was really well written. Big shout outs to the writers.
SPEAKER_03Um I think it was Jonah Hill and uh somebody else.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the subtlety of the jokes, like especially between Jonah Hill and his family, and then um Amira and I don't know the actress's name, the character Amira and Eddie Murphy. Right. Uh Akbar. Um Akbar Mohammed. Yeah, it was it was very uh there were subtleties of jokes that I feel like you had to really pay attention to uh to pick up on all of it. But very entertaining, and I think it did a really good job at showing how you know a lot of times in media we have well in movies, we're telling the stories of racial prejudice of white people against minorities, and this actually did a very good job at showing both so it was a Jewish family and a black family trying to come together and a black Muslim family. So everybody knows the Muslims and the Jews. A lot of tension there. A little stinky. Do not really matter it's like oil and water, okay?

SPEAKER_02Yeah, so um I think they did a really good job at writing and you know, joking in a lighthearted way, but really touching on serious kind of topics and issues.

SPEAKER_03It's something I think it's like uh people notice, but it it goes on it goes to like not spoken about. Because nobody really wants to be the first person to uh probably I guess uh the best way to describe it, nobody wants to be the first person to bring it up. Right. Because you you do that and then it's gonna people, you know, people are gonna feel uncomfortable. It just even just because you know they don't you don't believe in what they believe or is something of that matter or that form, and and so it's like these just like these little bickering of like uh different different realities that we all live in this world.
SPEAKER_02So like when I moved to and I was living in Mobile, Alabama for um a couple years. Um got addicted to meth.

Yeah, okay, because one, you know, like even though I'm you know Florida was on tour, yeah, right? Florida's a different vibe in the south. Um, and I'm from Pittsburgh, so I kind of had like a little bit of a northeast vibe, but also a Florida vibe, skater. I loved hip hop, I loved hardcore music. You know what I mean?

He was a barber, um, he was a homie, and I actually, you know, hang hanging out with him, like where I lived in Mobile was right off Moffitt Road. Okay. And so that kind of that kind of borderlines this little area of town that they called Pritchard.
SPEAKER_03Which is not to be uh confused with Moncroof Road and Pritchard that angle together over here in Jacksonville.
SPEAKER_02Uh very similar. So where I was at was like when I try to get people I was working with, like friends, is like, oh, I live on this property, we you can come out and party. Like nobody wanted to because they're like, oh, you kind of live in like the hood. Even though I lived on 10 acres and it was dope as fuck. Um put it this way in Mobile, Alabama, there's still a bridge that crosses an intercoastal waterway called the Africa Town Bridge. Because where the bridge is going over, yeah, where the bridge is going over, it we used to be called Africa Town because that was where the slave ships used to come in.

SPEAKER_02Yeah. So even though this was 2009, 2010 to 2011, it still felt like like oddly segregated and weird. And me getting to know this guy, John, who lived just down the road from me, who was a black guy, but lived in technically Pritchard. Um, yeah, he had two two two homies that were really, really cool with me. And I remember being over there, he was a Heat fan. I was I'm a

SPEAKER_02Miami Heat fan. I remember going over there, watching basketball games, watching football games. Right. And there was one time where like only white boy over there was like the first big party I came over to, and I totally got dealt with some shit the way Jonah Hill got dealt with. Oh, yeah. No, for sure. It was really like I was it was uncomfortable. I felt unwanted. And John will for all forever and always be a homie and a brother to me because he stood up for me and actually kicked a couple of people out that was like, This is my dude. If you fucking got that fucking hateful shit in your heart, get the fuck out. So it was like I was laughing at Jonah Hill go through a lot of this because I was reminiscing on being immobile and being like, oh shit, like, yeah, I kind of been in that guy's shoes. Yeah, yeah. Like when he took him to the basketball court and he was like, Oh, you like to play basketball? All right, let me show you. And then, but then dude could actually ball.

SPEAKER_03Uh it's uh when I lived in Hastings, Florida. That type of shit. Yeah, when I lived in Hastings, Florida, man, we lived like uh down to it was like technically downtown Hastings. There's like, I don't know, 12 people that live there or some shit. Uh, but I mean obviously more. But where uh we lived at, it was a completely entire black neighborhood. I was we were the only white family. It was me, my daughters, and uh my baby mama. And I got I became really uh close friends with uh uh my b my buddy Brandon and then my buddy Varis. And there'd be times I'd be out kicking it with them like middle of the night, and they got people rolling up because Brandon's into the nefarious things and whatnot. But um we would uh they'll be kicking it. A bunch of this like their people would be like, yo, the fuck's up with this white boy and shit. Like, you feel like oh fuck, I don't like this feeling. I don't like this feeling at all.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but but I mean like you and then like but now you know the way that like you think about like them and the way that they you know, like and I don't mean to say them, that was very rude of me, but I just meant like you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Like well, it's like he's like you gave shout out to your buddy John, Brandon and Varis were the same people for me. They're like, yo, that's my homie, dog. Y'all ain't gonna fuck with him. Right. He's like, he's nah. He's like, Y'all gotta leave before I'm gonna make him leave. That's f nah, fuck y'all.
SPEAKER_02Right, but like, you know, because that's you know, people standing up for the right thing. But it was actually, you know, it is it was I'd always known and like I'd been bullied and I'd been, you know, kind of had like shit in the back in the day and whatever, blah blah. Right. But that was uh always a really eye-opening experience for me because I came to find out that John's like grandmother was really, really instrumental in the civil rights movement in Alabama back in the day with like Martin Luther King and a bunch of other like I mean, so and and I actually had the opportunity to DJ her. It was like her like 85th birthday when I was living there. Yeah, that was when I was still DJing and stuff, and give it out to Granny.

Kind of uh the same with like the the racial kind of thing, um Arab, uh Palestinian dude. Um dating a Spanish girl. Yeah, living in Houston, Texas, kind of his struggles. I came here as a refugee.
SPEAKER_03Um, really, really trying to figure out how to get a green card, and he's been here since he was a kid.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, 30-minute episodes, um just excellent writing. Really, really good jokes. They're kind of subtle. It's you're not gonna like belly laugh and you know, like all the time because there's some seriousness to it because of the undertones of the of the content, you know, immigration, um, you know, the uh speaking on speaking on like what people experience in different cultures compared to others, the same way as you people really did.
SPEAKER_03Because it was like, you know, the white people, the her uh the Arab people, and then also with like the Spanish people all trying to like come together, but yet like Mo, his mom wants him to be with you know, another Muslim girl with uh with an Arab.
SPEAKER_02But and he's whitney with with a Mexican girl, right?
SPEAKER_03And and then her family obviously doesn't want it uh him with they want her more than Catholic.

Yeah, the joke writing, like where it really got me was when he tells him about because those that don't know, in not only the Mediterranean, but the Middle Eastern region, amazing olives and some of the best olive oil in the world. Yes. Like literally, if I cannot get I buy the olive oil that comes from my motherland, from my from my family's home, this fucking guy, Italy or Greece, if not there. I mean, the Middle East, amazing. So I really liked that, and kind of he ends up working, his mom's making fresh olive oil, and and he ends up working in this olive farm for this guy, this redneck, and having a hard time holding down jobs. Yep. He teaches him, he's like, Oh, yo, because you got thieves stealing your olive trees. Like, they put these trackers that look just like olives on there, and then uh he bait they basically wrote the joke as like the redneck dude comes over, like, kind of looks like wiring a bomb. Yeah, and then and then and then he's like, Why? Because I'm an Arab? He's like, What if Manuel was over here doing this? Would you say he's like he's like, Well, what would Manny be wiring a bomb for?

SPEAKER_03Man, uh one one my last thing I'll say about this is I remember when I was living in Hastings, um, you know, my next door neighbor was this older black dude and everything, and he always had like a bunch of older uh black dude guy friends over and stuff, and then um they would be um they worked on the farms and everything for all like the um cabbage land and all that out there and all the people that are growing stuff. Well, uh one time I was over there and uh his buddy said something to me, and I was like, Oh yeah, man, but yeah, Bubba, no worries. And then like at like dude got this like weird look on his face, and then like after um the next day when I was talking to my neighbor, he was like, Yeah, man, don't try to say that because that's what the white people used to say back in the day around here to all those black folks and everything. And it's like, I didn't know that.

It's the same, it's like when you know, if if a transgendered person, if I misgendered anybody and I don't know you, you can't attack me or get mad at me. Um I liked it because I felt like it had a very balanced um bal a very accurate balance of like kind of mythology with real life. Right. So like I'm trying not to give a spoiler, but like there's times where like you can see like they're eating mushrooms. It was known they used to like eat wild mushrooms and like trip nuts and then go on these like crazy rampages and like rape and pillage villages and like conquest across America and elsewhere. So uh it was definitely um oh no, oh my bad.
SPEAKER_03Okay, they eat the mushrooms, my bad. It's just chocolate. Oh inside joke, it's dumb. Yeah, you you've got mushroom chocolates? Yeah, it's about an inside joke for me on my tum tum.

SPEAKER_02right. Tell us about the time that you got banned uh by all of the Only in Duval uh social media platforms and accounts. And what what was it for?
SPEAKER_03Um, so yeah, uh back uh a few like a few years back, whenever like only and duval was like really like a pretty much out of like its most popular point. I haven't heard anybody say anything about them in a good while until my buddy Mike brought them up the other day. And it reminded me of this, and I was like, oh shit, I don't know why I've never so I was I took this picture, I was at um monument where South or um Merrill and Southside where they're connect, and I was on the way to go to South down Southside, towards the left, and then right there at the light right in there to keep for somebody to keep going straight down Merrill, it's a red light, this fucking black kid gets up, gets out of his truck, and just sits on his roof of his truck and just stares out that just stares out into like the world and trying to figure out what space and time meant and shit. I don't know what he was doing, but it was just like, oh my god. So I took a picture of it and I was like, yeah. So like I sent it to Only in Duval, right? And they didn't even like acknowledge it or nothing. And like the very next day they're like, Only in Duval, come on check out this little kid's lemonade stand in Riverside. This this is stuff only happens at Duval. It's like this happens everywhere. I messaged him back on it, and this is probably where it becomes my fault now. Okay, yeah! And I get it, but like I messaged him and I was like, I was like, yo, man, it's a kid with a it's a kid with the fucking lemonade stand. That's not only in Duval material.
