A stack of donated concrete turns into the kind of motivation every skater understands: you see the missing piece of your setup and suddenly you cannot stop thinking about the line. We’re back as the duo today, talking through how we’re upgrading my driveway “alleyway” spot with a new quarter pipe and a proper fun box so there’s real speed, cleaner flow, and a safer way for our daughters to build confidence. It’s part DIY skatepark build, part dad life, and part proof that local skate communities still look out for each other when someone posts a project and actually follows through.

Then we zoom out to what’s happening around Jacksonville. We hit revitalization, the impact of fixing a food desert with new grocery and retail options, and why the city’s art and counterculture feel more welcomed lately. And yes, we go full skate nerd on the under-I-95 skatepark plans near Riverside, breaking down what the renderings show and why the “JAX” features could be an all-time landmark for Jacksonville skateboarding.

After the break, it’s “News With Idiots” and “Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes.” We react to Steve Harwell and Smash Mouth nostalgia, wade into messy political hypocrisy, and then close with a run of wild decisions that range from darkly tragic to painfully funny. If you like unfiltered conversation, local Jacksonville talk, skate culture, and headline chaos with real opinions behind it, this one’s for you. Welcome To The Gruesome Twosome

SPEAKER_02

Gruesome toosome, gruesome toosome, gruesome toosome.

SPEAKER_01

How's everybody doing? You know it. It's your boy Polly.

SPEAKER_05

Polly wanna crack him? No, I want you wants your mom to sweet ass.

SPEAKER_01

All day, every day, even though I got my boy with me, the one and only uh Dr. Jones.

SPEAKER_05

You call him Dr. Jones.

SPEAKER_01

What is good, my dude?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, just chilling, man. It's cool because we don't really get to do episodes like this often.

SPEAKER_01

No, not at all. Um, it's just uh me and the boy today. Um I guess the the duo, if you will.

SPEAKER_02

Um the gruesome to some.

SPEAKER_01

The gruesome to some. Um, but man, we uh we started off this morning. Um, well, hold on. I'm sorry. We appreciate everybody for tuning in. This is Pauly on the pod. And if you don't mind, take this time to go ahead and show your support. Like, comment, subscribe, share, do all that stuff like uh Joey Diaz does. Like, comment, subscribe. We'd be fucking stoked.

SPEAKER_02

We couldn't do this without y'all.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. And so now let's get into it. We'll talk about how we've spent our Saturday morning thus far.

Scoring Donated Concrete For The Ramp

SPEAKER_01

Um, last night, your boy was up late, worked security at the Guttermouth show at Kona Skate Park. It went off. Um, but woke up early this morning and we ventured across town to um a local homie um who donated some concrete to your boy.

SPEAKER_02

Jack, he didn't tell me his last name.

SPEAKER_01

Didn't tell, didn't disclose the last name, but shout outs to Jack. Um I posted that in my little uh alleyway of a driveway. Um I've had the quarter pipe at the end. Um I had a little ledge that I built, um, a couple of little rails we pull out every once in a while out front, and I had a kicker ramp. But what had been missing was where the kicker ramp was at the end. We needed a quarter pipe, you know what I mean, to get some legit speed to skate the ledge. Yeah. And then skate the the opposing quarter pipe. And uh I wanted to turn the ledge into a uh a fun box, you know, to use kind of like as a pump hump for my girls, you know, my daughters, yeah, if you will, going from one quarter to the other.

SPEAKER_02

It just kind of it builds confidence up like for that kind of shit. Like we're going up and over. Yeah, just like learning how to grind across or just coming up and just manualing across.

SPEAKER_01

For sure.

SPEAKER_02

Because then they're gonna want to try like nose manuals or nose grinds, like they're the same way.

SPEAKER_01

So for sure. For sure. So uh saving um extra materials from work and stuff. I've been able to get everything for the most part framed up. However, if you look at the uh poly on the pod Instagram, if you uh already haven't uh been following, we'd uh really appreciate it if you uh like, comment, subscribe. That poly on the pod Instagram. It's just poly on the pod. One long word. If you know what's good for you, if you know what's good for you. But anyway, um where my ledge it overlaps, I originally built it. My driveway doesn't span kind of this the exact width of the side of my house. And so there's like the the fence is wavy, yeah. The fence is wavy, but even at the smallest point, um, it's like a six-inch wide gap between the fence and in the concrete slab, and so my ledge had kind of been overhanging that void. But in order to turn it into a fun box and actually have a bank on either side, you know what I mean? Need some kind of need to fill that void with creep because if we were to move the bank or the the ledge over even with the slab, then you wouldn't be able to actually skate the ledge. It it's too narrow. That's why I call it the alley.

SPEAKER_02

You can put that rail that you have like on top of the fun box and like skate it across, like uh like yeah, bank hit the rail and then into the bank. But it's got to be moved over so like you don't hit the fence to the big thing.

SPEAKER_01

Don't hit the fence, yeah. For sure. But we need that extra concrete there. So I kind of put it out there that I was adding some additions to the alleyway on the Instagram and uh was super stoked to get a direct message from a local homie um that he had uh 10 80 pound bags, 10 and a half, and then two 60-pound bags of Crete. And for the run that I need in the void, like it just needs to be four inches thick, six inches wide, and like twenty-four um to twenty-six feet long. He literally donated all the concrete I needed.

SPEAKER_02

You know, it was weird, dude. I asked Jack if he had a cape inside or anything, because you know, most heroes don't really wear one.

SPEAKER_01

But that's what I was about to say, you know. But not all weir, not not all weird, not all weirdos. Not all weirdos, not all heroes wear capes. And Jack, in this situation, my friend, you definitely uh we're a hero because we're a couple of you know adult skateboarders, fathers of you know, two daughters each.

SPEAKER_02

And uh I am the definition of white trash.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and you don't work not at all, and I work too much for not enough. And uh so every little bit helps, and uh just big thanks and shout-outs to Jack because now all your boys gotta do is I've already got the the wood to just kind of form up, you know, the pour. I've got my mixer um in in storage. All I gotta do is shovel out the dirt, you know, and even prep it, get get some rebar.

SPEAKER_02

So uh Man, you should probably get better friends than me, dude, because there's no way I can help with that.

SPEAKER_01

Well, anybody out there that that is listening, um, you know, you can donate on Cash App or uh or Venmo. Um I believe it's just you know the the dollar sign poly walnuts 904 or 412. I can actually confirm that. Hold on one second. I don't even know my own cash app.

SPEAKER_02

Um uh that would be poly on the pod.

SPEAKER_01

That'd be it would be uh Venmo is at polywalnuts 904, capital P, capital W. Um, no underscores or dots or fancy shit. And then Cash App is just you know the cash poly walnuts 904. So if you wanted to donate to the cause to help your boy get the the rebar scraps that I need, um, we'll get this fucking thing going.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I mean, honestly, if they also want to donate, they can go to uh the doctor at the jacksonville spermbank gmail.com. Oh man at AOL.

SPEAKER_01

So uh so yeah, that's what I got going on. Um like I said, think we've given enough thanks to uh to Jack on that. But uh want to kind of talk about it being there's just you and I, my guy, um, we're definitely gonna get into uh some news with idiots. Um I definitely got some play stupid games, win stupid prizes um for us to get into as well. But before that, I just want to talk about kind of all the uh the rad shit that it seems we got going on um downtown right now.

Designing The Alleyway Fun Box

SPEAKER_01

Um as we were driving back from you know east of downtown, uh back to my side of town, Murray Hill, with the concrete, we were driving by the big Arlington mural um that's on Arlington Expressway right there at the College Park Plaza.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I wrote that book.

SPEAKER_01

The revitalization um of that area is is finally coming into fruition. A lot of the construction has been completed. The new Wendixie opened up there, and that was one of the the areas that was a food desert, meaning that there was no place for the people who lived in that community. They like they had to drive a good distance to get to a grocery store or um to some restaurants and stuff. So there's like a dozen new restaurants and in small businesses going in there. The new Wendixie just opened up.

SPEAKER_02

Um now at Win Dixie, you can get a port tenderloin with bacon wrap. And for $6.99, I mean, Jesus Christ, you're practically losing money.

SPEAKER_01

They don't sponsor us, but goddamn it, I'm gonna be, but goddammit, they did own the Jaguars at one point in time, so we are Win Dixie supporters, even though they are now owned by Aldi, and uh soon Aldi's Win Dixies will be Aldi's.

SPEAKER_02

And granted, Publix has the best chicken tenders this side of the Mississippi River. Hell yeah. I really didn't know where I was gonna go with that one, to be honest with you.

SPEAKER_01

Just well, here we got a little aerial view. Um, I've shared it on the uh the Instagram story. If you go to Poly on the Pod, um, you can check it out. Um, I'll share it again. We got an aerial drone view of I mean, it's where the old plush and like the leopard lounge used to be. I mean, I remember there being a shooting there. I mean, they're doing a lot of work around our city to get it to reach the potential that it should be and can be at.

SPEAKER_02

Um Dude, one time there's this old dude that showed a monument with just like a drone, and like he was just in the parking lot and he was just using this drone filming all of us, like like skating and everything, and we're just like, Yo dude, why don't you come over here and hang out? And he's like, Ah man, I can't come within 500 feet, so oh shit.

SPEAKER_01

Five hundred feet of what?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I don't even know. Shit. Oh shit. Maybe you shouldn't be at the park, son. Fellas, I don't think we're par parking lot pimping today.

SPEAKER_01

Um the next thing, man, is just we've been talking about it a lot lately. Uh the skate park going in underneath the I-95 overpass, going down to Park Street and Riverside. Um there's the progress being made has been shared on the hidden Jacksonville um Instagram account. You can see kind of rendered drawing as well as a drone view of what they got going on. It fucking looks sick. Well, give me your thoughts on it, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I really haven't seen like like where they're putting quarter pipes in.

SPEAKER_01

So it kind of feels like the little video playing in the background right now.

SPEAKER_02

I've lived my entire life for this very moment.

SPEAKER_01

So this looks cool. So we've talked about that facing the street where the opposite of the arts market, there's gonna be J-A-X for you know, Jacks, Jacksonville. Um no shit. They showed the X that was formed up. So they from the street it's just gonna look like an X, but from the skate park side, the X transitions down into like it is gonna be fucking sick. There's a big huge X. Look at the J. And the J has a bank that goes up to it. You see that? Or a quarter pipe. Chris, your thoughts?

SPEAKER_02

Uh this is gonna be the best fucking skate park in our town. My old girlfriend refers to me as her ex.

SPEAKER_01

Um no, that that right there is gonna be my X. Man, I wanna I wanna throw fucking I don't know how, but a trick's gotta get done. I don't so to span the gap where the X splits at the top, is there gonna be like an even bar across? What what is it? What is that gonna be? How's that gonna work?

SPEAKER_02

No, dude, you just gotta fucking pump through it and be a badass. Like you literally like grind and then go into the other side.

SPEAKER_01

And the J, look, the J's a vert wall, bro. Look. So it's a tiny quarter that makes the bottom of the J, but the tall part of the J that goes up, look, wait till it comes back around. You see what I'm talking about? Yeah. And they said there was gonna be no tranny there. Look at that. A high to low, the two banks with a fucking quarter, long quarter. This is gonna be fucking sick. Dude, this is why like people I will be there every day. Put that on notice. I will be there all the time. It's a fucking few blocks from my house.

SPEAKER_02

If Paul is not there all the time and you catch him, you catch him, you will be the next guest on the podcast. If you catch Paul slipping, he ain't there all the time.

SPEAKER_01

That's a guarantee.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my mama dog.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I mean, I'm just really excited about what we got going on uh with this. It's been a long time coming. We've needed and deserved our own under the overpass spot.

SPEAKER_02

Like the th like the thing is like with this generation of skateboarding, like all these parks are like around. And like we were growing up, like we didn't have parks. And now it's like kids are getting the all the shit that we all the shit that we dreamed about.

SPEAKER_01

But you know what, son? I know it's hard not to be bitter at times because you look at it and you're like, that's all I fucking wanted, that's all I dreamed about. It's because of me and my generation and our pushing, you know what I mean, and and the generations before that this is able to happen. But just look at it as a victory, my dude.

SPEAKER_02

All I need is one kid to come from here and do a kickflip 900.

SPEAKER_01

A kick flip 900, be the first fucking ever do it.

SPEAKER_02

That's all I want, dude.

SPEAKER_01

They get all this, dude. You you better look at the J from this angle. Did you see it? I didn't realize that on that clip that you can see it. So I want to watch this one last time and then we'll move on. Um, again, go to Pauly on the pod, um it's on the on Instagram, and I will do my best to make sure that I respond to your comments. Well, yeah, that and put this all hold on. I want to post this shit so y'all know what we're talking about. I'll tweet it out as well. So you can check Pauly. Um I think Polly Walnuts on Twitter might be Polly on the pod. We have a J. Look, there's the J.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, I think because they're gonna put another J on the side of it to where it's like a big J, so you can actually skate it like you see what I'm saying, like in between, they're gonna have a J on the other side to where they can concrete it up to like it'd be like a vert wall like that.

SPEAKER_01

That's crazy. That's gonna be sick. So yeah, we got uh we've got that going on. Um another big thing Well, I guess it's not really a big thing, but uh J U over the university um in Merrill Road area, not far from the college

Jacksonville Revival And Food Deserts

SPEAKER_01

park plaza that we were just talking about, they just erected a large obelisk, which is essentially like the Washington Monument.

SPEAKER_02

Or ancient Egyptian style.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It's just a long tall square with a pyramid on the top. This one's made out of glass. It's an art piece, but they turned that whole intersection um over the past several years into a massive roundabout that has uh helped alleviate traffic and and uh crashes through there. And so the centerpiece you know most big roundabouts like that around the world have like a big art centerpiece, so it's kind of cool to see getting on that level.

SPEAKER_02

Little fun fact my dad actually lives three streets down from J U. Nice. Never sent a birthday card. I was about to say how many birthdays did he show up to? Uh not not a single one. Cutting deep. Yeah, no, it's actually kind of funny though, because like going to JU and everything and like skating it back in the day, the nine stair, the eight stair handrails, six stair rails and shit, like it's super rad that it's becoming a lot more wide open and like much more appreciated for skateboarders than it's ever like been. Because, you know, we've we've all known people that get harassed at a skate spot or getting taken to jail or some shit over it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like just for skateboarding, but like now Jacksonville's really becoming a Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well that's what you know, we're talking about, you know, the park underneath, the fact that the city, the the new mayor, you know, Donna Deegan. Um, I mean the whole city seems to be embracing that and just like our art counterculture, the fact that we kind of do things differently. I've had uh you know conversations with a lot of people that have traveled here for events and and such from all over the world and all over the country, and a lot of people compare it to being there like Jacksonville is like the Austin of Florida. Like like that, Jacksonville in the sense is similar to the rest of Florida, but very different, and it has its own little artsy eclectic vibe. Where you know, Austin is now kind of you know comedy headquarters for the USA, if you will, since Joe Rogan and so many other comedians have relocated there. I mean, Shane Gillis is moving there.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I know, I heard that.

SPEAKER_01

You know, and they got Moon Tower and Creek in the Cave and all that, and you know, the comedy mothership, and um it's not just that. I've heard I've never been there, but I've heard they've got a huge cool art scene, rad music scene. Um, I've heard that Austin is like just very different from the rest of Texas.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it it probably is because like the rest of Texas is like it's all wide open spaces. So like people are like Cowboys and country. You better tie your boots with your snake, boy.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, like like Jacksonville is completely different from every other spot in Florida, and on top of that, like Jacksonville is kind of like the uh the Australia of like America.

SPEAKER_01

Well, no, that's Florida in general. Florida is the Australia, and I've been saying that for years. We are the outback of the United States. We got crocodiles, we got alligators, we got lizards out the wazoo. Man, I deal with so many people with work that are transplants or they have summer homes here, man. And it's so funny. They just can't handle like the annoles or the fence lizards or the geckos, the tree frogs, they can't handle the spiders, the fucking palmetto bugs, the beetles, the centipede, then nothing. And I'm like, yeah, then why did you move down here? You realize we are in the subtropics. If you go down to South Florida, it's the exact same climate as the Bahamas. Like drive three hours south. It's the same as the Caribbean.

SPEAKER_02

What do you mean a goddamn wolf spider doesn't bite?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, they bite.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_01

They definitely bite.

SPEAKER_02

And bitches are big and scary.

SPEAKER_01

Well, same with a huntsman, and that's what everybody always you know freaks out when they come to Florida and they see a huntsman spider. I saw that movie. Yeah, and they get as they get as big as like the palm of your hand. Oh, yeah. And they're really fast. But they fucking they're scared of shit of you. They don't want nothing to do with you. Just let them run away.

SPEAKER_02

They didn't even want to be there while you were there.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, let's move on to the next thing talking about uh snakes and spiders are the only kind I like. Talking about old. Super stoked. Disappointed with the loss we had last week, but that's uh you know, horse of another color. We got the Texans coming up this week, and goddamn it, I Jags better win. But this is what I was talking to you about earlier, my dude. Um all this area right here. Um so those that don't know, we have a huge development phase going on downtown. Um the first phase is estimated gonna be around a $500 million project, mixed use build-out, um, 22 acres spanning 20 blocks of downtown, which will consist of uh three buildings with a thousand plus multifamily units, a hundred and twenty thousand square feet of grocery and retail space. Um,

The I-95 Skatepark Renderings Get Real

SPEAKER_01

with breaking of the ground is is planned to begin in the middle of 2024.

SPEAKER_02

Um first off, shout out to the Shadcon family, because they're really working to build Jacksonville up to something special.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, for sure. I mean, they're definitely their investments are inspiring other outside groups, like this is an outside group. I think this is uh the gateway development group or something like that, um, doing this, but their willingness to invest in the sis in the city, in our um infrastructure, in our parks and everything in around the stadium to help br really bring Jacksonville to its potential, um, is inspiring others to follow suit and uh holy shit, dude. Uh anyways, we got someone knocking on the door, probably the mailman. Oh but no, um this is kind of the thing that like when you have a leader, when you have somebody stand out and like lead the charge, people get inspired and follow suit.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, and like that's the thing, like with the con family, like when they came to Jacksonville and bought the Jaguars, like they really embrace the city and it's them that's really been pushing for this movement, and it's like it's really rad because like with this push that they started already created like a lot of other big like pushes throughout the entire city for people who want to invest in it and like try to just try to like be a part of the culture.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, for sure. And um one thing that this you know, referring to this particular development area is gonna be referred to as the Pearl Street District. Like there's going to be a central park located, and the thing that sticks out to me as well as many others is all the green space, all of the new buildings they're gonna be putting in are gonna have uh rooftop gardens and green space for the people that occupy the buildings and such. Um and then they're gonna put in kind of a central park area as you can see where all these trees are located, kind of in in that area. So I'm definitely if you go on to Hidden Jacksonville on Instagram, yeah, Bones, get out of here. If you go on to Hidden Jacksonville on Instagram, you can definitely check out um the kind of rendered drawings and get more information. On it. But I'm fucking hella stoked about it.

SPEAKER_02

Or you can go to Dr. Jones OnlyFans and you can watch Bones fucking lick my elbows in weird times.

SPEAKER_01

Well, uh, we've been chatting for 20 minutes. We're going to take a break, and when we come back, we're going to uh get into some news with idiots, my guys. Later. Peace.

SPEAKER_05

We interrupt our program to bring you this important message.

SPEAKER_00

When news breaks in the tri-state area or the world, you will hear it here on NewsCrew.

SPEAKER_01

And this is News with Idiots, where it's a couple of idiots sitting around talking about headlines, giving our perspective, thoughts, and opinions on the situations, even though they don't fucking matter at all.

SPEAKER_02

You're winning, but you're still losing.

SPEAKER_01

At the same time.

unknown

Same goddamn time.

SPEAKER_01

So this is uh a little delayed news, but we wanted to go ahead and uh start off with this one. Um for those who've been living under a rock or um were born in the year 2000 or later, you might not have heard of a band called Smashmouth. They were never really any good, but for some reason or another in the late 90s they caught on to uh you know popularity and pop culture, had a couple of big hit singles, um, and then fell off that clip that cliff quickly.

SPEAKER_02

Um from third grade to fifth grade, All Star was the song that they played, like on our uh media like shit for Lone Star Elementary, where I went. Yeah. So that song haunted me for a long time.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, I'm sure um it wasn't the best song I can tell you that. But uh Did you ever see the movie Right Race? For those that have never heard the song, we'll give you a quick taste.

SPEAKER_05

Somebody won't tell me the world is gonna roll me.

SPEAKER_02

I ain't the sharpest tool in this yeah. Oh, you don't even know the words of an L on her forehead. Well, coming and the glove top coming. It makes sense to deliver for fun. Bring this model, but your head gets dumb. So much to do, so much to see.

SPEAKER_05

But what's wrong with taking the back streets?

SPEAKER_02

Never know if you don't go. Good if you don't go. Hey now, go on.

SPEAKER_01

So now you can get a little taste of why I said they were never any good.

SPEAKER_02

Um it's very Or maybe they're very great and we just didn't understand. Maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Because only shooting stars will break the mold.

SPEAKER_02

You ever seen the movie You ever seen the movie Rat Race?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, long time ago.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they uh busted on the they bust like they busted on the smath uh smash mouse stage at the end of it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, really?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no. If you haven't seen Rat Race, you you should really go check it out. But also um on Trek they also use the same song, so you should probably check that out too if you haven't yet.

SPEAKER_01

It's not the same song. This is the song, it's a cover. He doesn't know the words, he just mumbles and then he Go ahead. Come on, sing it, Chris.

SPEAKER_02

I gotcha.

SPEAKER_01

And then I saw her face. Yeah. I'm a believer. Okay, so now that you've heard their music, I'm sure that you are now a believer that they weren't good. Or maybe very awesome, we really don't know. No, pretty sure. But anyway, we bring this up just because uh the the lead singer, um Steve Harwell, uh recently died at the age of 56, which is I mean, I know all you young bucks out there. I remember being in my teenage years, being like fucking 56 fucking old heads. Yeah, it ain't that old in the scheme of things. I was way too young. He died of liver failure. And the crazy thing is the reports came out that he was like he was sober.

SPEAKER_02

He never drank one one day in his life.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if that's true, but no, it's the exact opposite, which actually I'm gonna go ahead and bring this up.

SPEAKER_02

Oh shit, dude. If that's true, then I got three more years left. Let's fucking make them count.

SPEAKER_01

So after uh their fall from you know uh Minute Stardom, they were at the top for a couple of years. I think you listed the years that they were at the top for their one hit wonder, if you will, and then they had a little rejuvenation after they did that cover of I'm a Believer. I can't remember who originally did that song, maybe the monkeys or fucking the Partridge

News With Idiots Theme And Setup

SPEAKER_01

family. I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. I think it was somebody that saw our face.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and it they became a believer. Um but other than that, they went from, you know, for like a two, three year stint doing stadiums and stuff, and then they went to doing like county fairs and they went from like five like five hundred thousand dollars per like show to a hundred and twenty bucks per show. Yeah, and so there are there's a bunch of footage of them. Um, like even eight years ago, they were at a uh uh little festival. Well, I mean they still got more fans than we do, so County Fair. Um I don't know, it's kind of like nickelback. Do they have fans or do they have hecklers? It's kind of like Corey Feldman. Does he have fans? Are the people that are showing up and cheering for Corey Feldman truly fans?

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's like with Creed, you know what I'm saying, with arms wide open. Like, are you really sure like that song's that good? But well, I mean, it can take you higher. Hold on.

SPEAKER_01

Hold on, hold on, hold on.

SPEAKER_02

Hold on, here it goes.

SPEAKER_01

But it can take you higher. Okay, go ahead, proceed.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, but also uh listening to Smashmouth really brought an old idea back into my mind of somebody we probably haven't thought about in a long time. Pray tell my friend. Uncle Cracker Uncle Cracker.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We can't talk Smashmouth without Uncle Cracker dog.

SPEAKER_01

Well, we can because Uncle Cracker was actually part of a Kid Rocks band. But he's another one that we can dive into in another time. Um, because he will uh swim through your veins like a fish in the sea,

Smash Mouth Meltdown And A Legacy

SPEAKER_01

if you know what I mean. Uh can we just get like a oh thank you, ladies and gentlemen. You're you're far too kind.

SPEAKER_02

Can we just get like a little nummy of Uncle Cracker? Like, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

Like No, no, because this is news with idiots. So what I wanted to go ahead and get get you a little nummy of is when uh Steve Harwell, uh the lead singer of Smashmouth about eight years ago, this is one incident where he was at like a county fair or small festival after there was funnel cake and uh turkey breasts. Yep, and they had the uh Ring of Fire ride, right? And the Gravitron. And then um so going from the stadiums to this, uh, he clearly was in his feelings, and a couple people yelled out some heckling uh statements and he lost his shit. So yeah. I will I will share this on the uh Twitter or X, if you will, but let's go ahead and uh Yeah, bring it bring it up, bring it up. So right now you got Smash Mouth walking out. And this is a three-minute clip, so we'll cut it short. So the band just hit their first couple of notes. And you can find this on YouTube, ladies and gentlemen.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna come find your ass. I'm gonna beat your ass whoever the fuck you are out there, okay?

SPEAKER_01

Yo, can we just can we just can we just pause it right there and immediately say that off the rip, Steve Harwell, rest in peace, took no motherfucking shit. He said, throw another piece of motherfucking trash, I will come out there and beat every one of your asses. I do sing with me.

SPEAKER_02

He's heating up! I do sing for a band called Smash Mouth, so don't think your mouth cannot get smashed.

SPEAKER_01

He's heating up! You know it. So let's uh go ahead. He just entered the stage. They haven't played a fucking note. The band, all they did was go, dumb, and the and then the drummers going back there and be like crashing the cymbals for the main entrance. And Steve Harwell, the first fucking thing he says when he picks up the mic is throw another motherfucking piece of trash, I'll come out there and beat every motherfucker one of y'all's asses.

SPEAKER_02

But uh, like honestly, dude, he did get hit with an egg and tomato at the same time. So uh Fair enough.

SPEAKER_05

Up here, come on. Walk your badass up here. Come on, come on, stay, come on, stage, badass, come on.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, dude. I would fuck you up, Steve Harbell.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna tell you right now I'm gonna beat the fuck out of you. Okay?

SPEAKER_02

No, you won't.

SPEAKER_05

You're pussy photos bitch, okay? You're ruining a show for a thousand right now.

SPEAKER_02

Let's be real honest, dude. Nobody's seen a smash mouth concert in the last 15 years and boot. Everyone's boot isn't smash mouth for the last 15 years.

SPEAKER_01

For sure. Um, and I would just like to go ahead and say that he's like, you're ruining this show for a thousand other people, and this is where I have to come back into play. And there's 86 people. Did you really think a thousand people were there to see you because they loved you, or was a thousand people there to see you because they wanted to uh enjoy the shit show that was you and your band?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I mean, honestly, dude, if I went to that show, my favorite thing probably about that show is to see them just be a complete train wreck. But also, like with that being said, uh there's only 86 people in that crowd.

SPEAKER_01

I counted. No, there's more than 86, but we're gonna go ahead and play that real quick. 87, and then we'll talk about it.

SPEAKER_05

Because I'm gonna walk off stage, and guess what? You're paying it for it, motherfucker, okay. Come on, somebody, throw one more thing at me.

SPEAKER_02

Throw one more goddamn thing at me. It reminds me of the Jaguars playing at Steven Browns back in the 90s when they threw all their trash on the field. Same shit. There's probably 190 people.

SPEAKER_01

Still have not gotten into the scene.

SPEAKER_02

He's he's out he's asking for somebody to throw something at him.

SPEAKER_01

He's out in the he's got somebody confronting him, being like, bitch, we ain't walking past me.

SPEAKER_02

Hey dude, I wonder how many weggies he got in the 80s.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, a lot of them. So we're gonna go ahead and essentially stop it here, okay? And the reason why I wanted to play that video was because everybody was acting all sad and depressed when uh he passed, and I'm like, did nobody see this coming from the actions and the viral videos of him losing his shit? Didn't make sense to live for fun. Yeah, your brain gets smart, but your head gets dumb. So much too, so much to see. Little did we know that whole song was an autobiography. Dude, that's so wild, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Like he he's less of a singer and more of a prophet, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

Yep, so um we're gonna get back into a couple other news topics with idiots.

Child Abuse Headline And School Boundaries

SPEAKER_01

We open that up with a little news entertainment. This this next one is we'll see what we got. Man, it's it's the first openly transgender straight legislature is arrested on on child sex abuse charges. Um this was um in New Hampshire. Yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, we all know what kind of state that is. Uh we're we'll have to talk about that, but yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_01

So Stacy Lawton is a transgender female, I think I'm saying that correctly. Was a man, is now a woman. Um It used to be Tracy Lawton, but now it's I d I don't know, maybe. We'll we'll find that out. But anyway, um she was arrested recently on child sex abuse charges because uh sex abuse images. Um you know, the arrest is connected to a case and involves a Massachusetts preschool worker who allegedly took photos of the children while they were in a bathroom. Um Groves allegedly used um natural bathroom breaks for the children, routine diaper pull-up changes prior to nap time to take multiple photos of the pre-pubescent children in a private bathroom, and then uh sent the photos to an unnamed individual via text message. Um So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That lady's a monster. Or that dude's a monster. Whatever it is, is a monster, dude.

SPEAKER_01

I don't I don't want to uh be well fucking my dogs are being assholes right now. Get out of here! Go on, go lay down.

SPEAKER_02

Do something better for yourself.

SPEAKER_01

They're about to unplug everything.

SPEAKER_02

We're over here trying to create magic.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

We gotta give the fans what they want. We're creating art. I'm an artiste. Don't act like you're not impressed.

SPEAKER_01

No, so that whole thing, my my opinion on it is um they were really pushing, um, the left is has been really pushing to like overly um in integrate uh transgender people into prominent roles in society, and I feel like they are their their goal to reach that all inclusion, which I want everybody to be included. Okay, I want everybody to feel welcome and included in our society. However, when you There's ways to go about it. Correct. Um and and and just like overly trying to push people into positions of power, like there's no j difference really between that person and Jerry Sandusky, and I'm sure a lot of people that are um super left-wing radical are gonna have objections to my saying of that, but that is just a person who was put in a position to overlook uh and oversee the youth that then manipulated that for their own perverted sexual um misconduct. Exactly. And and I mean that's the same as Jerry Sandusky.

SPEAKER_02

Um well, like the thing is is like uh as like we were growing up, like sex was really not a topic like we talked about, but we were kind of just taught Well, once we got to an appropriate age, we it was talked about.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Middle school. I think the first time I had sex ed, I think I was in seventh grade, and then the and and then same with drug education. The first time I ever really got that, like in healthy, was like around seventh, eighth grade. And it was very it was very general and bland. It was like an introductory, if you will, course that was only a couple weeks, and it kind of let us like it introduced us to adult topics and and kind of bridged that gap. But then once we got to high school, there were way more in depth. You had the DARE program, you had other things like that that was like way more involved in in our health classes were telling us. I mean, and they were telling us where we could get condoms, you know what I mean? It was like these things that were at an appropriate age when you're driving yourself.

SPEAKER_02

If you need to get a condom, come ask for us, we'll give you a lot of it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, when you're working and you have your own money, you know what I mean? As a as a as a young adult, you know what I mean? You're not yet an adult, but you're not a child anymore. Um, but no, uh, that's why when people have been, I'm not a Ron DeSantis fan, but people talk about the oh, don't say gay bill. You have to you have to put in a perspective the way that bills in laws are written. Both sides are so fucking radical that one side proposes a bill that its initial proposition is very, very radical, and then the other side kind of uh opposes certain things and they kind of whittle it back down to common sense for the most part. Okay, for the most part, doesn't always happen that way. So everybody gets wrapped up in what the bill was first originally proposed, and then it's very different than what was actually passed. And as me, I mean, even if my children were heterosexual, I don't want my elementary school teachers talking to my children about sexual education. It's too young, they're not even in Peter yet.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, I was in fourth grade when I got taught about sex ed. So coach Ed took us to the library.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, at least he didn't take you to the locker room. I was about to be like, sound the alarm, Jerry Sandusky.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah, he had like one of those projectors and like putting shit up and like this kid, uh Patrick Peters that like was in my neighborhood that I grew up with. He was in fourth grade for the third time, I want to say. But he just goes, Hey coach Ed, I know you're calling them testicles, but can we just call them balls? Like you shouldn't I'm not supposed to know that, but it like even with the same thing as like uh But that's a little bit more natural. Um trans like all right, so with like transgender and bro, I remember the first time I had to you know shower in a locker room with other guys when I was like pre-pubescent age.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, oh shit, that motherfucker that that dude's got a big dick. You know what I mean? Like fucking slapping slapping thighs, dude. But he was also fucking had chin on his hair, and I was still a fucking little boy, you know what I mean? It's this weird, everybody hits that age at a different age. Um some earlier than others, some later than others, and now I just don't think we should be talking about it with our with our youth. I mean, and then we've gotten a little bit off topic from this, but my whole point about it is that the left has an agenda the same way that the right has an agenda. The right has an agenda to push Jesus and Christian conservative views at all costs, right? And Republican conservative core values, and the left has an agenda to push liberal um opinions and at all costs. And it's once again I feel like if if the government can protect our presidents from assassination attempts like secret service and such, you tell 'em, you're telling, and we can vet for the most part our politicians. We haven't had a politician that has been an elected official that was a spy that I'm aware of. If I if this happened, please somebody educate me. Or someone along those lines. Um they vet everybody. That's I had to sneak that one in. Fair enough. Um But but it's like, why can't we vet someone like this? It just it just screams to me that we are that that clearly the Democratic Party, just like the Republican Party, are so focused on pushing their narrative that they're willing to overlook proper vetting issues to make sure that the public is safe and that these people are qualified to be in this position. Well, they just want to put someone in the position that will prove that their opinion on the way a free country should be is correct.

SPEAKER_02

The way that like kids grew up in the same exact way like we grew up, we didn't know who we really were until we finally got older. And the thing is, is like teaching sex ed to kids before all this movement happened, like it was like a big no-no. But like now it's turned into something like, hey, it's okay to be who you are. Like if you want to wear a dress, you can wear a dress. But it's like, dude, the kid's six, dude. Like he shouldn't even be thinking of that.

SPEAKER_01

Like Right, right, which which okay, honestly, when they're that young, and I can tell you from my own experience, right? Um, I don't think that's really an issue. So I've known um being a single father when I was you know, when I was a single father, uh, when I was dating other women.

SPEAKER_02

Daddy got a fucking wife now and I'm just bragging, I get it.

SPEAKER_01

No, but yes, I am bragging. I got a dine. Daddy, daddy got a dine. All right, anyway. Shout out to the legend. Yep. Shout out to the wifey, uh, Courtney Bells. But no, so when I was a single father and I was dating, I dated a couple single mothers, and a couple of them did have sons whose fathers were out of the picture, and because they were at a really young age, they were definitely mama's boys, and they had like little play up, you know, dress up dresses. I later, after, you know, like nothing, you know, worked out with that, whatever, we moved on, blah blah blah. I later interacted with them a couple years later and found out these boys who three years prior were like playing with Barbies and would like let their mom put makeup on them. They were like playing T ball, riding dirt bikes. They were like embarrassed of that point in time. And they shouldn't be embarrassed. I'm not saying that. But all I'm saying is that I think that if depending on the family dynamic, even if you are a boy, if you're raised by a woman, like you're probably gonna have some like things because that's your mom. Like that's that's that's your caretaker. That's the person that is raising you, that is loving you. And so you might have a few things that might be feminine about you because you haven't your your nuts haven't dropped it. Your testosterone hasn't hit your body yet. You don't know exactly from a chemical scientific makeup, like who you are. Who are you really gonna be attracted to and what are you really gonna be into?

SPEAKER_02

Uh like for myself personally, uh, I was a middle child of a single mom. My other two brothers, like we all three have different dads who we grew up together. And the thing was, like, my mom was a tomboy, so like it turned into like something to where like we're kind of like able to like find our masculinity within that, but also at the same time, like you know, now as a single dad, I have two daughters, and I never had sisters, so I don't I don't understand some of that stuff that they go through, but also as I'm going, I'm learning and understanding it the same way they are because it's new to them the same way it's new to me.

SPEAKER_01

For sure. And I was definitely fortunate in the fact that I had an older sister that was barely a year and a half older than me. So like we grew up almost more as Irish twins in the fact that we were so close in age, all of her friends were my friends, and vice versa. It wasn't until my brother, my little my younger brother, because he's a bigger brother, younger, bigger brother was uh he's still shorter, motherfucker.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, both my brothers say that shit to me all the time.

SPEAKER_01

No, my brother's still shorter than me, but he's definitely much bigger.

SPEAKER_02

I know, dude. My older brother's fucking six two, my younger brother's six six one, and then my dad's other son, Cole, he's six four.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

I'm five ten if you're not checking with the measuring tape, because uh I'll just tell you where I where I I stand in my height's five ten.

SPEAKER_01

We're honest people over here.

SPEAKER_02

Five nine and a half. Uh but it's like one of those things like where you kind of have to find balance within the world because like no matter how like you reciprocate the world, you also have to be able to project it and make people understand who you are and the things you experience.

SPEAKER_01

Right, but I think that like that also will come at a certain age. Like, I was super reserved, and you know, shout outs to Adam Perales. Um, he was my proprietor and manager when I first started working at Krabbas when I was 18 years old. And I was wanted to be a bus boy, I was really reserved, quiet, but he was like, No, you're a good looking kid. He's like, You're gonna be at the host stand. He's like, You get you getting some butt some bus shifts. He's like, But you gotta learn how to talk to people. And it taught me how to bullshit with like it really like he took me out of my comfort zone, and so there was there's some growth there. So I don't think that like our children Well, it's life experience. I think we I think we I think we have to. This is why I'm against all the radical left that thinks we should allow young children. I think it should be a crime for anybody to transition. Not not not a crime, but but I think I personally think the age should be 21, but I think that it should be a crime if anybody under the age of a legal adult their their parents should not be allowed to start giving them hormones because they feel a certain way. Because even just me being, I've always been heterosexual. But if you look at my Did you ever really know who you truly were till you're 25? No. If you look that's my point I was about to make, if you look at my yearbook photos from year to year, um, I had so many different interests. So one year I looked like hello punk rock, hella like skater surfer kid, hella hip hella hits, hella hip hop kid, hella scissors hands. Bro, it like changed every year because I was finding my interests, figuring out who I was and what I wanted to be and who I was in the world. And and I and it I'm realizing it was okay for me to have interests in all of these things without me completely diving in and making that my entire identity. And so I think that us promoting I think everybody should be accepted, but the more that we allow young children um or we allow older people that might suit influence and like influence we just have to vet them better because you you have to understand that we can't look past someone's uh faults and hopes that they could be something more when it comes to our child, you know what I mean? Like we're shaping our future. They they are our and I can and I brought the first person up because I wanted to bring the next person up who is the opposite side of the aisle.

SPEAKER_02

Can I just get this one thought?

SPEAKER_01

Oh yes, I'm sorry to mean around.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you're good. Uh like as a kid, dude, I always got made fun of a shit ton. Yeah. Like I dude, I was people used to call me vampire because like my teeth were fucked up and all this shit and like my Is that why you lost them? Uh no, I was born without enamel on my teeth.

SPEAKER_01

It was just a fucking joke, Chris.

SPEAKER_02

Hey I just smiled, you missed it. All gums. But the thing is like you when you go through things and like experience like those kind of things, like it it either makes or breaks you. And understanding like the shit that I went through and just got like terrorized. It it made me become the person to where like I just became so confident within myself because I really didn't give a fuck what anybody said at a certain point. But I also believe that kids sh like I don't think kids should experience it the way that I did, but also I feel like they should experience life and growing and becoming uh who they're supposed to be. I think it's a very important like part of like growing up in life. And my main lesson when it comes to my daughters and everything, like the one the one thing, like, dude, I could die tomorrow, but my daughters like will understand. Like I I I tell them it's not about how you fall. And they go, it's about how you pick yourself up. And I think it's one of the greatest lessons in life. And I I think that idea is really getting shortened.

SPEAKER_01

For sure. Um and now and I appreciate all that that insight. And the reason why I brought up the first, you know, person and and the hypocrisy of them in politics. Um, I brought them up first to then bring up this person and their hypocrisy in politics on the opposite side of the aisle.

Political Hypocrisy And Culture War Heat

SPEAKER_01

Um is that my dad? No, it's George Santos. Um he is a uh he's a Republican um representative, and he's very outspoken against like drag queens and transgender and transvestites and like well I think people should be who they are without any shame. But also But no, hold on. You're missing the whole point. The hypocrisy of this is he lived in Brazil and he was one of Brazil's top drag queens.

SPEAKER_02

Oh shit. Get your money, young blood, get your money.

SPEAKER_01

But but that's my point, is that it's we could go back into and this is kind of straddling politics, and the next person I'm gonna bring up is actually in the whole politics thing, is is Dobel or Doorbell, whatever whatever doorbell.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, no, no. People keep hitting my doorbell, I got you.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's the uh female representative that was just caught like vaping vaping in the Beetlejuice theater.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, in the theater. Yeah, jacking off her and then her partner was giving her she was giving them OTPH over the pantani. Yeah, yeah, and but also like homeboy was getting a whole fucking breastfeed of that milk dude getting a solid.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so um so you know, George Santos is in the United States as an openly gay member of the political party, but he's targeting the type of shows that he once performed in. Basically, he's backed hardline politics that many in the LGBTQ community have find uh discriminatory, and he's supported Florida law that bars educators from discussing sexual orientation and early m elementary education, which is what we talked about earlier, um, which is what I agree with. Um I don't think elementary school is to is is the realm to talk about um Yeah, that's not the place, you know, elementary school um sexual orientation, but the hypocrisy of the fact that he has spoken so v what is it venom vehemently, venomently? It's it's a fancy word, I'm trying to uh sound smart. He's he's spit fucking venom about trans people and drag queens in the LGD LGBTQ community, but then uh once uncovered, uh like he was a drag queen back in Brazil. So it's just evidence that goes to show you that once again, the people of America, the wool is being pulled over your eyes, left and right. And the politicians, uh the things that they say that they believe in is not what they believe in. They just want your views so that they can secure their six to seven figure salary and their um protection and all of their benefits and not be taxed.

SPEAKER_02

Here on Bolly on the Pod, we'd like to think of ourselves like very aggressive. So, Paul, if you were to tell your pronouns, what would your pronouns be?

SPEAKER_01

Uh he, him, and uh bad motherfucker. Solid, solid.

SPEAKER_02

Um, mine uh would be uh the myth. The legend.

SPEAKER_01

Just the myth and the legend.

SPEAKER_02

I can't say the man because that really doesn't like it's too derogatory.

SPEAKER_01

Fair enough.

Cruise Ship Mystery And Florida Chaos

SPEAKER_01

Well, um gonna want to go ahead and and switch topics now that that was a little political news, but uh only in Florida we had a man gone missing off of a carnival cruise ship, and it was immediately cruising the following time. So we'll go ahead and there's a little bit of audio, I believe, just from him. This is the last video. That guy right there, that black guy. This is the last video of him seen alive that we know of.

SPEAKER_02

Or not swimming.

SPEAKER_01

So Kevin McGrath, a father of tune and army veteran from Port St. Lucie, was last seen with his brother around 2 a.m. Cell phone footage captured him dancing to live music on Sunday night. His key card was used to enter his room around 3 30 a.m. Around 7 30 a.m., he did not show up for breakfast with his family. He was reported missing thereafter. Did not was not able to be located on the ship. Um many cruise passengers have commented on social media that uh Carnival did not send any notice about a missing person, that there was no overboard detection system gone off. The Coast Guard suspended its search because uh they believed that he did not go overboard on the ship. So uh, you know. Don't know what happened to uh Mr. McGrath, but hopefully he turns up.

SPEAKER_02

What if it's like that like one of those things where he's just like, you know what? I gotta get the fuck out of here. I'm gonna go act like I drowned off this boat, because then I'm gonna show up in Cuba and have a whole new name and identity.

SPEAKER_01

Could be, could be. Um my other thought was you ever been on a cruise ship and then or like out to sea and then you just are looking over and you're like you have that weird intrusive thought of like jump.

SPEAKER_02

Oh uh, dude, I have that like uh like skateboarding, like with big ledges or big stairs, and like when I'm looking at 'em, I'm my whole. You're scared to death when you're like, no, you're gonna die, but you're like Well like I I know like like jumping, like if you're standing on a roof, like jump. I got pushed out of a two-story window one time, and uh I landed on the ground like Superman with one knee on the ground, other knee straight up a cambowed, and I had this right there like that.

SPEAKER_01

No doubt. Well, you know, prayers to you know and condolences to his family. Doesn't sound like he's gonna get found. Um if he does, we will uh we'll mention it.

SPEAKER_02

We'll talk about it again.

SPEAKER_01

We'll keep you guys posted. This next one, man, was pretty funny that a Florida man uh he was arrested for trying to run to London in an inflatable uh hamster wheel. It's basically like this massive steel cage wheel that has two larger steel wheels on the sides of it that has a bunch of inflatables in it, and he was trying to hamster wheel all the way across.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's like bubble boy, dude.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So uh well no, bubble boy couldn't go outside.

SPEAKER_02

Well, no, because he can't go outside and uh that leg in the water, dude.

SPEAKER_01

All right, you know, touche on that one. Once you fucking go out there, you know, you can't go outside. Right.

SPEAKER_02

Are you gonna turn him back, dude, once you make that commitment?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so apparently the thing is the reason why he got arrested was they tried to like confront this is like his Wait, did they catch him on international waters? Yeah, but this is like his fourth or fifth time trying to do this. Oh, dude, he's got commitment. And so he like claimed to have a bomb so that the Coast Guard wouldn't board him, and he did a bunch of threatening shit and claims. So they like boarded him forcefully and took him and uh arrested him.

SPEAKER_02

So uh, you know, they shot two shots into the bubble and blew his blew his fucking dream away. Oh shit, that's fucking wild. I respect it though. Oh yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_01

And then we'll go ahead and wrap up uh news with idiots uh with uh let's see what we got going here. Let's gotta go one. We got a local one. Nope, not a local one, but this is down in Dade County, Miami, Florida. Um this crazy bitch swimming in the river here? She has a child with her, like a baby.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, she's in the water?

SPEAKER_01

What the fuck? So uh there you go. So around 8 30 a.m. a few days ago, um, Miami Dade officers responded to a female acting erratically. Um on Bricklekey Drive. Upon uh arrival, the female uh took off her clothes and jumped into the water with her uh her baby nephew. Um they were both pulled out and were transported to the hospital to be checked out. Charges are still pending after a mental evaluation, aka That bitch got bakered because she crazy. Dumb as a motherfucker. So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yo, did you see that uh video of uh somebody catching like a 30-foot gray white shark?

SPEAKER_01

30-foot gray white shark? No, I didn't see that one.

SPEAKER_02

But um any thoughts on that, there uh oh yeah, no, dude, she's dumb as shit, dude. I don't give a fuck where you are in Florida, dude. You don't get in the water.

SPEAKER_01

Not like that, actually. Uh I don't know if you saw the uh video. There was like

Play Stupid Games Win Stupid Prizes

SPEAKER_01

a uh like a 15-foot American crocodile that was uh swimming around and hanging around the Pompano beach pier, like waiting for people to pull up fish and just fucking snag them off the hook.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, no, of course, that's what they're supposed to do. That's what they'd fucking do. You can't be mad at a beast for being a beast, dude.

SPEAKER_01

No, not at all. But we're gonna take a quick break and we'll be back. We'll play stupid games, win stupid prizes, and we will fucking wrap this up. Hey, I'm gonna be a little bit of a big thing. That's right, everybody. This is uh play stupid games, win stupid prizes, would swear. Fuck around, meets find out. It's your boy Pauly Walnuts, and I got my homie Dr. Jones here, where we are going to uh go over a couple of stories. We've been uh chatting for a little bit, and I got some errands to run, so we're gonna try to make it a quick one, my guy.

SPEAKER_02

Makes sense. Makes sense.

SPEAKER_01

So the first one we're starting off with is uh called Should I Eat It?

SPEAKER_02

Uh that's that's that's up for debate, to be honest.

SPEAKER_01

Uh so uh Sam Ballard um was, I believe, an Australian kid, and uh those were his final words after uh a super fit rugby player at the age of nineteen was left paralyzed by swallowing a slug on a dare.

SPEAKER_02

Oh shit.

SPEAKER_01

Left him as a uh quadriplegic.

SPEAKER_02

Um you remember that show, like A Thousand Ways to Die? Yeah There was like two kids that like snorted fire ants. And like they just like a ate them up from the inside because they saw like uh Judas Priest or like Ozzy Osborne or some shit doing, dude, we're punk rock like them, we're punk rock like them. Like, nah, dude, you fucked up and found out what it's really about, dude.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so um one of his friends, Jimmy, um, that was there, uh, told uh, you know, investigators and everything, and and and news reporters that they were sitting around having a bit of red wine, um, appreciating the night, trying to act as grown-ups um as a slug came crawling across and the conversation came up, uh, should I eat it? And then off uh Sam Ballard went, and bang, that's how it happened. Um he swallowed the slug, and Sam quickly uh fell ill and was taken to the hospital hospital where he was found to be infected with a rat lung worm. The worm is found in rodents, uh, but snails or slugs become infected when they eat the feces of rats. And while most people develop no symptoms at all, it very rarely it causes an infection in the brain, um, which is essentially what happened uh to poor Sam. And uh Sam was nineteen when he contracted uh th this issue. He he lapsed into a coma, and four hundred and twenty days later he was uh left quadriplegic. And yeah, so you play stupid games and you win stupid prizes.

SPEAKER_02

I have one problem with this story. Yes, sir. They were all sitting around drinking a glass of wine. Like that's how they like that that's what they were doing already. I mean shit, the coolest thing they could have done is had one of their homies uh go into a coma because they're just a bunch of fellas drinking wine. We don't even know if it's Cabernet, it's not red, we don't know if it's white, some Ziffendel shit. But they were drinking wine.

SPEAKER_01

I agree, I agree. You know, I mean they were they were classy kids in Australia.

SPEAKER_02

But uh now they're whining 'cause their buddy died. Yep. Fair enough. Drink wine, you're gonna end up whining.

SPEAKER_01

Fair enough. But um we're gonna move on to the next one here where uh We're just gonna watch the video and let it explain itself.
