This drop is that lost conversation we filmed with BC, a true Southeast skateboarding original with stories that stretch from Louisiana flatground to Pensacola indoor parks to the Jacksonville scene and Kona Skatepark energy.
BC breaks down the early days in a place where you had to push forever, then the moment everything changes when you see an ollie and can’t stop chasing it. We get into classic parking lot skate demos, building ramps way too big when you’re way too young, and why the best skate sessions feel like you stepped out of real life for a minute. He also gives his own definition of “Search For Animal Chin” that hits harder than any trivia: it’s the feeling of being fully locked in with your friends and your board, and spending the rest of your life trying to find that feeling again.

SPEAKER_04Welcome back. It's been a long time. They're ready. They're ready. They're ready. The people have been calling for it. There is no Dr. Champ. Well, it's been a very long time, everybody, and I gotta say, uh I couldn't be more stoked to be back with you. It's your boy, Pauly Walnuts.

SPEAKER_04It's been a hot minute. I don't think anybody thought we were coming back, but we are. We're here. The time is nigh, as they say.
SPEAKER_07A lot of things have changed.
SPEAKER_04A lot of yeah, missing posters have been up. The people have been searching far and wide. And we're coming out of hiding. A lot of things have changed. I've gotten laid off from a job, worked another job, quit that job, and now working for another job. Uh my marriage almost fell apart. I separated from my wife for a couple of months, but we've uh been back together better than ever for like two years now. So uh we've been missing since what June of 2024. It is now Jul end of July 2026. Two full years off the radar.

SPEAKER_04Well man, apparently the people have missed us. So yeah, you've been battling medical issues. Uh shit. What's new? Got it, blame it, Pomin. I've been out here battling other life things, like trying to not fuck things up. Gonna bring it, Paul. And uh we're slowly crawling back to here we are. Mediocrity and telling you guys all about it, so we couldn't be more stoked because this episode we recorded this back in June of 2024 with a legendary dude. Oh my god. I mean, dude, I think I think we've ever had a chief in the skateboarding tribe, BC.

SPEAKER_04Yeah, and uh we've slept on this, we just kind of fell apart and never put it out. So we're back. We got new episodes dropping. We got other skits and shenanigans and everything that we've been wanting to, plotting on, scheming on, dreaming about doing. We are making happen because there's no time like the present. So um you'll either like it or you won't. Either way, we don't give a fuck. Not a goddamn. But uh here's our episode with the one and only legendary BC South East legend.

Welcoming BC And Louisiana Beginnings

SPEAKER_04And you know I got my boy Dr. Jones with me. Hey yo. That's right. And before we get into it, go ahead and do as Joey Diaz does and uh like, comment, subscribe. We'd be hella stoked. But uh man, I don't know if I could be any more stoked than I am for the guy that we got sitting down with us today. It's the uh the one and only the man, the myth, the legend, BC. Hey, hey, what is up here in Jville? Duval is doing. That's right. Duval. I think we got one of them hot drops in here somewhere. But uh welcome to the show, my friend. Um thank you for having me. Thank you for having me. Yeah, man, been wanting to get uh this one done for a while. Uh so go ahead and introduce yourselves, tell everybody a little bit about yourself, where you're from originally, how old are you, and uh when did you start skateboarding?
SPEAKER_03All right, I just want to say I did not practice. And uh, you know, they said, dude, write down some stuff, you know, where you're from and all. I'm like, nah, it'll be easy. But anyway, Marero is where I was born. I was right across from New Orleans, Louisiana, probably the flattest area in the world for skateboarding.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Have you been to Florida?
SPEAKER_03So that's like what the Mississippi Delta, right? Yeah, the Delta. It fanned out for millions of years. Wow. And like from Mississippi to the end of uh Louisiana, and and then it said, Let there be skateboarding. And so in like the 80s, skateboarding there was riding down the street, there was no slants going down, no hills to bomb. It was just pretty much pushing, pushing, pushing. We had uh some stairs downtown that we could skate. Dwayne Petrie came from around there, but we're introducing me. So uh back at it.
SPEAKER_04So a lot of flat ground. Were you into uh freestyle at all?
SPEAKER_03Hell no. But I like it. I like it. I've kid you kids that are bringing it back. Yeah, I'll bring it back.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, who's that one Jap little Japanese kid? Um, man, killing it. He's got the long hair, he's like just super, super tech, and it's yeah, he was definitely watching Rodney Mullen's old video tapes.
SPEAKER_03Big time. But you know, Rodney actually invented that, I think. Yeah, he invented physics too. Like he actually went back in a time machine and he talked to Einstein. Actually, it was when he was going down the Kona run, he went like 88 miles an hour. Yeah, with 1.2 uh 21 gigawatts. How do I get the board to flip like this? He's like, you're gonna have to go back further. You're gonna have to go back further. And then Bill and Ted was invented, and I think he was the producer of that.
SPEAKER_04Sounds about right. If BC said it must be true, right? Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but I skated uh like the 90s came around and um small wheel pressure flip phase, big pants. I was not there, I was not there for that. I was pretty much hanging at the nightclubs, turned 21 and 91. Party on Wayne, party on guards. I used my skateboard to get around and here and there, and pretty much when I skated when I was younger, I was just a stunt man. Yeah. You know, I just jumped stuff and he was big he was big brother for big brother. Yeah, dude. I like had all the neighborhood kids out there with their big red three-wheeler, and I'm like jumping over the top of it. And uh that that's how I got into skateboarding was doing stunts. I was a stunt man. I still do stunts. Hell yeah. Sometimes I go home, but inspired by evil can evil most of the time I go I go big. Hell yeah. Yes, evil can evil. I had the thing where you're wham, you ramp it up, and he would jump my Disney books. I had the Disney books over here and they were set up like that, and he jumped on the Dr. Seuss books in the hallway, probably 78.
SPEAKER_04That was the uh Dr. Dr. Seuss River Lagoon or uh River Canyon?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that was the shag carpet brown paneling canyon in the hallway.
SPEAKER_04Nice. Um so let me ask you this if are you uh regular goofy footed? Regular, regular. If you uh had to pick front side or backside.
SPEAKER_03Oh, are we grinding or airing? Just in general, man. In general, yeah. In general, uh front side um nose slides are cool. Hell yeah. But backside lip slides are cool, hell yeah. Front boards are cool, hell yeah. But they're actually lip slides if you jump on opposite way. I don't know what the question is. I'm like, switch gnarly, faky gnalies. What are you talking about?
SPEAKER_04Let me ask you this now. Switch uh fakey or gnarly, which would you prefer?
SPEAKER_03Oh, I gotta go faky all day from where I'm from, you know. I mean, I I'm from the land when I moved here, the land of Jake Sykes, but uh Nolly, gnarly is a special thing for special people. And the only way I got the hang of that was I imagined it being a switch faky Ollie. All right. So I was like, Nolly, damn, I keep messing up. And then I did a faky Ollie, and I'm like, okay, do that this way. And so I can pop them.
SPEAKER_04It's kind of funny how you like break things down in your mind like that. Like for me, when I was learning blunt to fakies a long time ago, I had somebody tell me more big toe when I was like popping in. And like you said on my back foot. And honestly, it was like he was like, keep your shoulders square and more big toe when you're popping. Like, you know what I mean? Yeah, and closer to the trucks, it opened up the world, you know what I mean? Just like changing that perspective.
SPEAKER_03Like, oh yeah, shoulders square, boom, got it. Yeah, it's like when you go to a big board from a little popsicle. Yeah, you're like, oh, I don't have to fall off my board. No, just fucking hold on for the ride. And you just link it harder. But yeah, um, gnarlies are cool. Uh I mean, the youth really likes some gnoys.
SPEAKER_04The youth really likes tech tricks these days. Yeah, I'm on the thousand dollars. They're on the uh Tony Hawk Pro skateboarder, make that a reality.
SPEAKER_03I like the guy that sketches those tech tricks, you know, your guys that do it like solid, like every try. I mean, he's cool and stuff, you know.
SPEAKER_04We hang out, but he's like, I I like the guy that looks like he really had to work for it.
SPEAKER_03You know the guy. I want you to like come out and be like, wow, dude, I was holding on. And then he's like, Oh, I want to film it again. I'm like, no, dude. No, that's the clip.

SPEAKER_04So I was gonna ask what your first board was, but you were uh generous enough to go ahead and bring this bad boy in.
First Boards Demos And The Ollie

SPEAKER_03Now that's not the original, but I found the exact original and had to get it with the lappers, and I got it, and I just hung it up in my shed. Hell yeah. And I took it down, it's all rusted and everything. He's got the lappers. But I don't know, it was like in the 70s, and I didn't really see skateboarding like all these kids over here by the beaches and everything, sidewalk surfing. But uh, we set up a piece of plywood and it was probably like three foot high, and uh, we were just going up and down all day on this board and coming back faky, and you know, I just couldn't wait to go do it. Well, I don't know if it was faky back then, but it's backwards. And then I remember when I first got the truck over. When I first got the truck over and lifted it up and came back, and I didn't even know what it was like like I was just riding. Yeah. And uh yeah, it stuck with me there. And and so from that aspect I kind of rolled around a lot, and then I got out of it probably when I was a teenager, probably puberty for some reason. You know, you kind of chasing girls, doing other shit concave to cleavage, trying to get some concerns. And trying to get some poom poom. And then uh I'm going down the road in like in like 85 or 6 or something like that. And I wasn't driving, I was on the passenger side of my mama's ride. And uh this kid Brady, he uh he does an olli, he's just going, he's just cruising down the street and he ollies, dude. And like I seen it. You know, I I freaking seen it right there, like while I was driving in the car, I'm looking out the window, and pop, there was an ollie. And I was like, holy crap, what was that? So I go home, he lives on the next street, I freaking jump the gates, I go over there, I'm like, Brady, what the hell did you like? Oh, I old like this. And he's like I'm like, oh, like this, and and I get on it. And if I didn't go to that dude's house for two weeks, just trying to learn the Ollie Ollie, and then I Ollie'd, and by that time I already got into skateboarding right there. It was like uh you know, right before Bones Brigade or something. Like I got back in it again. Hell yeah. And the guy down the street skating, his dad did a lot of stuff, and hanging with Brady. Brady was one of the cool kids, and I was just this headbanger kid, you know, that was just skating around with half shirts and my rebox with the tongue hanging out. So you look like Paula didn't probably and and uh yeah, so I would just go around with those guys and we'd see demos and we'd go to demos, uh leisure way, seen Nodice back in the day when he did that fast plant off the car. Like, you know, we didn't have no video, and I'm just looking at it, and he's like, Yeah, and uh damn, how the hell and I want to do that. So where the uh demo was at the skate shop, they brought a car in, almost identical. I want to say uh they had a wall ride, and he drew like a big face on it.
SPEAKER_04Sick.
SPEAKER_03And I remember when we were waiting for him to come, uh probably like 86, 87, there's no noses, you know, on the boards. Yeah, no, fat and flat. And uh I think I had a vision primo was the name of it. Got it for Christmas, like 250. Hell yeah. Paid for it. And um, everybody's ollieing. And so, like, I remember we stacked the boards up. I probably got like I think we were at seven, eight, just olding over them, you know, because Nadice is coming. And then he got there and he just did some remarkable stuff. And that was one of the demos that came around where I was. Hell yeah. So, you know, of course I'm hooked. And then um the other memorable demo from back then was when Tommy Guerrero, Rodney Mullen, Mike Villale, Rodney Mullen's girlfriend, they came. Hell yeah. And uh that that just opened up the whole world. We got the launch ramp, we got the wall ride, not his face on there. Mullen and them get there. Mullen does his little thing with his freestyle girlfriend. I don't know what happened to her. We can YouTube it, but it was Mullen, freestyle ass Mullen, freestyle ass girlfriend together doing their things. It was kind of neat. Very cool. They might be married. Who knows? Who knows? Um, I'm not even supposed to mention it. I had to who knows. I thought it's not an NBA. But they did a parade in uh in New Orleans and then came and did the demo. And Tommy G was just busting ollies off the launch ramp and grabbing stale fish. I got some killer pictures. I sent them to him, you know, with Instagram. So was this at a like a skate park or was this just like set up in a parking lot? Parking lot, dominoes, window tinning, skate shop. Wow, very cool. Maybe it was pizza man.

SPEAKER_03And uh so here comes Mike Villely, and you know, he's gonna probably like do something off the launch ramp. And this motherfucker, he 180 Ollie'd over it. Wow, and we're like, what? And it just opened up the door, and so skateboarding back then at that time was really fun. My friend's dad was uh making spine ramps, he was like worked at the 7 Eleven somewhere, and he would set the ramps up over there and have contest out there, and we would just skate. Very cool. Like I said, there wasn't no I mean, street skating was down like two streets in Louisiana, Pordress. You know, that's where the big buildings are and canal. Yeah. Yep. Not much, but yeah, well, it was in the bayou, bruh. In the bayou. A delicious H2O.
SPEAKER_02That's high quality H2O.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so that's the 80s. Well, what was it like growing up in Louisiana?
SPEAKER_03I mean, what was the childhood like? I was a suburban gangster. Weren't we all? When I walked on the street, they feared me. That's right. So uh, so yeah, we had the bayou uh south of us, like you can go out to the Gulf, and then on the other side of the Mississippi River was New Orleans. You know, like I I would be playing football at my friend's house, and you look over there, and where the tree lines here, like if you looked out and you looked on the tree line, it would be a big ship passing over there on the levee on the river, because the river's like much higher than the land. That's very cool. And uh yeah, we ate good over there. Yeah, it was pretty good. Skateboarding was great. You know, malls came around with skateboarding in in those late 80s, so I had the mall. I remember bringing my Zorlac deck out there, skating uh in high school. Hell yeah. You know, just doing bonelesses off the uh stage. Any uh any backyard ramps around that time? Yes, uh they had a vert ramp in Algiers, and then um over there in uh in this one area, I had a friend of mine and he had a half pipe, and we skated half pipes a lot, and I probably learned some things there. I probably learned most of my quarter pipe stuff was this kid from down the street that skated Francisco, he came down the street with this magazine, and it was uh BMX magazine and how to build a quarter pipe, right? Sick. This quarter pipe in this magazine is freaking eight foot tall, eight foot wide. Gnarly. So anyway, we go to the plan, so we start building. We're probably Like 15 or something. I get my ages mixed up back then. Somewhere between the middle school and the high schools. And uh dude, we built this big old ramp and we had it down by his house. It covered the whole front of his house, it was in the driveway, and we would just be out there all day rolling back and forth and going up as high as we can. And then we was like, let's drop in it. And so where I learned to drop in at was on an eight-foot ramp into the grass. Damn. Gnarly. Into the grass.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Still. And uh that's where I learned to drop in at. That's fucking brutal. Nobody, nobody, I like I don't even know what Kona is back then. Like, yeah, yeah. We were just doing it on a damn quarter pipe. I mean, I seen the animal chin ramp. Tim Payne. Tim built that. Yeah. Isn't that crazy? So that is wild. It's crazy that I like shook his hand. And like I used to I used to go down in uh New Orleans and just we'd skate down to down there, and like one time I needed a kingpin. So we're like acting like Bones Brigade search for the kingpin. So we're just like cruising around. And then we got hungry and I'm putting out my hat and doing tricks for money. Oh yeah. Got some double cheeseburger. What was the question?
SPEAKER_02I think it was did you ever actually find animal chin?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Or that kingpin. Uh yes, I found him a few times. And if you want to know the definition of animal chin, listen up. Animal chin is search for animal chin is that feeling you get when you're skating. Like when you're like, this is the best it could ever get. Like you you get to that pinnacle of being with your friends, and the session is just so great, and you ain't getting no vibes from the outside world and you done forgothing. That is chin. Hell yeah. And so you're searching for it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You're always searching for it. So I'm always searching for chin. Searching for the stoke. Yeah, I've had it a few times.
SPEAKER_04Hell yeah. Yeah, I've been lucky enough to find that as well. Um let me ask you if uh your preference, if you had to pick street, park, or both.
Ramps Bayou Skating And Finding Chin
SPEAKER_04Would you rather like you, you know, just on your normal day, if you're like I'm gonna go first skate, does your mind do you normally do default to just go cruise the street and whatever urban or suburban obstacles you find? Or you like, nah, fuck it, we're headed to a park.
SPEAKER_03Now, if I'm in a nice city or something, like I like to be out there in the streets and I lived in San Francisco for eight months. So oh wow, very cool. That was my chance back before it all fell apart. Uh before they let all the hippies in. Probably. Yeah, before they let the hippies in. I was there in the 60s, 51. We voted for Kennedy. Oh wow. But uh yeah, so um my perfect thing would be street spots that look like parks. Right? That's my perfect. I feel you. Uh you know, so I like to cruise the park because I'm older skater, so I just like to get out and kind of cruise around. But like if it's there and and it's amped and and people are skating something, I like to be in the streets with like some friends and everybody filming and being stoked. It's always a good time. Yes, that's the chin moment.
SPEAKER_04Yes, sir. No, totally, totally. You gotta recognize it. Yeah, for sure. I like the uh the street spots that look like the it should be in a park. Like honestly, like the Maitland banks, when you look at that spot, you're always like, that's fucking straight out of a park. Have you ever skated them? No, no, dude. It's the run-up's a little weird, it's hard to get you know the speed form, and obviously the bricks is challenging, but man, it's just such a sick photo because it looks like it's built for skating, but you can completely tell that it's like in the wild of a town, you know, of a city.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I I I've passed by it. It was a bus when I did go to skate it, but um, I should have like went there like a hundred times like already. Hell yeah. I just go to monument instead. Right? I hear you.
SPEAKER_04That brick that brick quarter is like my favorite thing there. Front slide, lip slides on that thing are just so fun.
SPEAKER_03So I did skate, uh I did skate the China Banks. Oh, sick. What was that like? Okay, Steve and Darling. I'm I'm jump I'm jumping my storyline, but it's cool. Okay, so I was in San Francisco. Um Hurricane Ivan kicked us out of uh Pensacola for a little bit. Okay, and that's when I just met Brenda, who's my wife who I'm gonna shout out, Brenda, who I met because of skateboarding. Hell yeah, shout out to skateboarding. Thank you, skateboarding. You know, so well while well while I'm on Brenda, you know, and then we had Jane here in in Jacksonville. You know, she was born on the beach here. Hell yeah. And wow, and of course, my son Skyler, who lives in Orlando and he's doing good. He's got his master's degree and went to the Navy and everything like that. So skateboarding has brought me all of this. It's like when you ask like what skateboarding owe you, you know? Yeah. Jake Phelps, you know? Yeah. Freaking face burn in the rain or some shit like that. Yeah. Like it don't it don't owe me nothing, dude. Like, what can I do for you? Exactly. No, I feel you. But yeah, so we were in I uh Hurricane Ivan, and she's like, We're just gonna move away. I'm gonna get a traveling nurse job. Where you want to go? Okay, New York or San Francisco. Boom, San Francisco comes up. Hell yeah. Go to San Francisco, skating around there, and uh right when I get there, my friend tells me the path. So the path is you go down Van Ness and you get there by these lights, and it's like one way. And when you look up there to the left, the car is coming across. So right when they get that red light, and right when they they hit the middle, you go and you just push, push, push. And then right when you get to the light, you're going through all these cars and stuff, right lane turns right, so you stay over there. The light turns green. I don't know what kind of magic happened if Tommy Guerrero had anything to do with that or anything. But the light turns green, and you do that for like five, five lights, six lights, and you come down there and where the courtyard is, where Macy's is with the big thing in the ball, and you can hang out there and stuff, you know.
SPEAKER_04Right on.
SPEAKER_03And um, but I'd take a left there, and right there was Cardiel's rail. It was right there. So I'd take a left and I'd I'd sit there, I'd rub it.
SPEAKER_04Try to get some of the juju off it.
SPEAKER_03I'd walk up it, I'd look at it. I didn't understand at first. I just seen pictures and then I seen the video. I was like, holy shit, you know, it comes out in the middle of the street stuff, and when you look at it, it's just amazing. So anyway, I'm right there. Then you walk up the hill and you're in Chinatown, and pretty much the China banks are right there. Wow. So you gotta go through all these uh I guess they're Chinese. I'm in Chinatown, Asian, I don't know. One would assume, one would assume. Uh and so you you go through all these guys playing checkers or whatever that game is that they play. They play Chinese checkers, it's like Asian dominoes or something. Yeah, and uh, dude, I'm up there, I'm skating the banks, you know. I'm just and it to go over the long one, like to just roll over the long one, people doing tricks on that, it's amazing. But like you have this fear of landing in this crack in the back, and like your your legs will never be the same again when you skate it, and so that was always fun. And then I'd grab me some dank Chinese food, and I'd go walk over there to Hub a Hideout, and I'd sit there and eat it up. Hell yeah. Hey Marty. It was up, Marty.

SPEAKER_03Thankful you for all you do. Yes, sir. Dude, it must be hard on the skate park. Must be really hard on a skate park. Through a pandemic, right?
SPEAKER_04And through uh and surviving the uh the skateboarding recession.
SPEAKER_03The skateboarding recession, dude. It's crazy. Yeah. I'm we're I'm stoked we're here in Kona. We're here in Kona, you know. We are here at Kona. Yes.
SPEAKER_04We were out here here sweating our nuts off out there, you know, framing in some new decks for some quarter pipes, but I wasn't. Never a dull moment.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, when I when I was out there, uh not to change the subject about me. Yeah, I'm gonna later on. Uh so uh when I was out there, man, I skated with some cool cats like uh a friend of mine worked for Rio, Jonah, and um, and Tony Mariano. And he met me out there with uh Tony Trajelio. So I'm like at Sunnyvale Park, and I just watched that whole tilt mode army and they got the shots skating uh part. Well it was that part, and so I'm like skating there with just us three hanging out. Tony's big time from um over there in New Orleans, and he moved up there to uh I didn't know he was from New Orleans, right? I didn't know that either. Yeah, he's OG cat.
SPEAKER_02Wow, yeah, uh mad respect for that dude. So you're a triple OG. Does that mean he's uh double OG? Yeah, I think that's how it goes.
SPEAKER_03Probably two stripes, probably different realm, actually. He he's definitely uh he's over there at real and everything. But yeah, that was cool when uh that happened. And then um then I was at that same park, and uh it's when Earl was real big and Jason Lee comes rolling around on a penny board before the penny board. Hell yeah. SPEAKER_04Yeah, I was about to say, let's uh, you know, we talked about San Francisco just because it was brought up, but when was the shift in the move from New Orleans to Pensacola?

SPEAKER_03that happened in '95. Aaron and Opal hit pretty much the same time, and I went worked on the over there. And um, I wasn't really skating, right? This is where the story gets interesting. So I wasn't skating as much. And um, I went over there and I'm working, and I'm living with my cousin. New start. I'm making a new start. I'm fresh, dude. Right on mating with my little cousin.
SPEAKER_04Right on.
SPEAKER_03You know, I'm taking Tylenol P.M. to go to sleep earlier so I can wake up and get over this life. And uh anyway, I'm driving down the road, I look over to my left, and what do you know? There's a quarter pipe. It was just sitting there on the side, it was blue, and um I turned around in there and I looked, and it was just like an old industrial little building, quarter pipe, a little pyramid, and another one on the other side. And come to find out it was Skate Shack. Lo and behold, dude, right on Skate Shack. It that's the one that's where I was reborn again at the Skate Shack. So I had my mom uh she come visit me and she brought my my board. I had this awesome ass board, but I let this dude use it who was on drugs or whatever, and he's like, I'm like, where's my board, dude? And he's like, oh no where it's at. And so anyway, he brings me back this other board that wasn't mine, and it was a lake board. Oh you know, just so happened. So like they bring the board back, you know. I'm early grabbing over the pyramid, I got a mullet, I got some uh Nikes, hell yeah. I'm just skating again. I'm like, oh my gosh, and I'm I'm like 25. And uh it was the best. I swear I met my best friends uh to this day. I got Mark Akiyama, Rob Aaron, my friend Brian passed away, my friend Wes passed away. He was my first friend there that I met. Um Nick. If it wasn't for Rusty Ross uh building that place, dude, I gotta thank him every time. Hell yeah. Yeah. It's crazy, dude. Yeah, I'm getting a little uh sentimental, dude. I hear you, brother. Awesome, man. I hear you.
SPEAKER_04It's what it's all about. Yeah, it's I get real sentimental and you know, just about this place because you know, Kona brought me skateboarding. Like I had been introduced to skateboarding briefly out of uh I was living in Pittsburgh, but my dad was born and raised in South Florida, so all my cousins on that side were South Florida kids, surfers, skated. So I'd like to go visit them. I actually got my first skateboard from my cousin, gave it to me. But back home, the borough I lived in, we had cobblestone streets, man. And if you've ever been to Pittsburgh, dude, it's in the hills and the mountains, you know, like it's steep roads, like there's not a whole lot of flat area and where there was. It was either the asphalt was eaten up from the you know, snow damage, or it was cobblestone. So there wasn't I had all of you know, maybe a couple of days of skating experience before moving.
SPEAKER_03I lived in the flat land.
SPEAKER_04You lived in like steep places with no with nothing to skate. Exactly, exactly. And I grew up like you know, snowboarding stuff like that. I was always into like the extreme sports, you know, as a kid, just a little adrenaline junkie. But moving here, I mean I wasn't in the neighborhood, but a couple of days, like two days, and the neighborhood kids were like introduced themselves. Hey, we're going to Conan tomorrow, you should come. And back then it was late 90s, so all the hype was rollerblading.
SPEAKER_03So I first came as an inline skater and I but yeah, shout out to the rollerbladers for keeping skateboarding alive for sure. They did, dude. They kept this park open.
SPEAKER_04And for like, you know, there's like three, two, three years I was like skateboarding and inline skating. And then I was about like 14, 15 when I was a kid now. Yeah, well, I also grew up playing hockey, so it was like really easy for me to like I had already got balance on skates, ice skates and in inline. But um because you go fast, you gotta do this, right?
SPEAKER_02You gotta heels and toes, heels and toes.
SPEAKER_04But no, I mean that's like I get really that's why you'll always see me out here, you know, whether whether Marty's paying me or not, man. It's like I want to keep this place around because it means so much to me. Because all of my greatest friendships, all of some of my greatest memories growing up, like even a lot of memories I have going on other skate trips or skating other spots, a lot of those relationships with those people and those trips I went on were born here. Or you can just chalk it back to this place because this is what brought me skateboarding. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03You have you have to have an avenue for what you love. Like you can love skateboarding all over the world, but they got these little places that you go to where everybody kind of meets up and you kind of you kind of come out and you funnel out of that. Yeah. Kona's one of those spots in the world where where people come to it and they and they get a little closer and they funnel.
SPEAKER_04For sure, for sure. So um Pensacola, I mean, I know there was some parks there. Like um, when was was this you moved to 95? When did X Park come around? Wasn't that the Pensacola Park?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, um X Park was probably 2000. Let's say early 2000, something like that. Um was there anything before that there? Yeah.
Pensacola Rebirth Skate Shack To Big Air
SPEAKER_03Uh so we had Skate Shack and um I broke I actually broke my arm there. Uh oh, so Skate Shack was more than just the quarter pipe. Yeah, it was like um we all met up there. You know, Jamie Thomas came through in some demos, Tony Hawk came through, Clyde's Clyde came through there. Shout out, Clyde. Little story about Clyde. I don't know if he wants me to tell it. Tell it anyway. Tell him every time I see him. So now he don't have to wait for me. He can just go to this podcast and listen to the story. There you go. So it was uh Mullen, Daywan, Clyde, and Kane Gale.

SPEAKER_03And they had the little world industry thing, and they came over, and um we were skating and everything, and everything was fun. And the funnest part was uh Daywan. You know, I'm doing like an early grab over, and he goes, Oh, old school, that's fun. And he's uh and he freaking ollies and does like a judo boop over the pyramid, no transition or nothing, and it's like boop, and then he comes back and and I'm standing on the quarter pipe and he's like saran wrapped to faky. I love old school anyway, and uh so so then um I love old school, now let me fucking do every trick. So I'm hanging out with Clyde for different reasons. We kind of gelled like that, yeah. And uh I go over there and I pick him up and and we went to a club. Man, I shouldn't be telling this story. Yes, you should.
SPEAKER_02Yes, you should. Anyway. End it. Long story short. No, no, we want the long story. Don't shorten it up. Uh-oh, dude. You can't we uh you can't put a stake in front of me and not want to get it off. Come on, player.
SPEAKER_03So we would go to this place, it's uh it's called the back seat, and it's back seat? Yeah, it's right like on the back side of the hotel. Like, you know. Yeah, yeah. Like I can imagine what the backseat was. Ambiance. You know, we just we drank. We drank, and they had patrons there that worked there, these people that worked at places like that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And uh usually of the uh female gender. They're called employees, PC.
SPEAKER_03They're employees, and so we're just kind of getting out there and man, I can't believe I'm starting to talk about this. Talk about it anyway. We're over there, and Clyde's getting a little lap dance, and um, I think he lost his money or whatever. And anyway, we get out of there. And I dropped him off like uh I dropped him and K and Gail off of there with Rodney in day one. But yeah, uh, we was at the club and we got kind of toasty. Nice.
SPEAKER_02I feel like there's some of the story you're not adding up to. You don't want to I know there's you skip some parts. Yeah, uh yeah.

SPEAKER_03Yeah, daddy, daddy. Right on, right on. So uh uh yeah, so um over there in Pensacola they had that, and uh then after that kind of went away, uh Paul Kayla said he wanted to build Deep South, which I got hell yeah, Deep South. And so I'm like, sure, dude. So uh me and Brett uh we got together and they had like a plan, and um just wood was just delivered to the spot, and so I just got there with a saw and everything, and we just started building. He's like, I'm gonna have a band on this, and so we built this awesome box that was like so long, just quarter pipes, half pipe, and that was the front room, and then they had the back room, which just had this gigantic big stuff, you know. People like Element came by, and um we had some big blowouts at Deep South. I can't tell you the golly, I had my 30 birthday party there. Hell yeah. The dirty 30. I turned 30 years old on that one year, but uh yeah, so then we had uh that park went down just for a little bit, and then um I seen they was opened up Big Air Skate Park. I I went by uh Olive Road and I looked over. I'm good at this, I don't know why I could spot a quarter pipe. And like they had the doors up and he was building uh skate park. And so I went in there and they already had like this cabinet maker built the half pipe, and it was like the most biggest, most beautiful half pipe you ever seen. Probably square as fuck, too, if a cabinet maker all the dimensions were right. Those were some tight cuts. And then for the street part, I had got kind of gotten there and I uh became like gave some insight on what to build. So, of course, I built like a fly box, you know, with some early graphs and stuff. Had the best early graphs there. And uh I made sure of. And uh I I worked at that place for a few years, man. And um that place was uh that's where I met my wife. She uh she came in um and she brought Skyler, who was six. She brought him there, and he was like at camp, you know, and she was over there sitting there. Just so I just scooped her up.

SPEAKER_03Gotcha. Gotcha. And uh and then we went through a couple traumatic experiences as far as like uh hurricane. So we've been together ever since a big air skate park. Hell yeah. Through the trials and tribulation, and that's where I met uh Chris Coogan, um, that kid's over there in San Diego, Cody, some kids out there that just just rip. You know, when I think about Pensacola, I gotta uh mention Pete Kelly.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah, I'm I I follow him on uh social media, we're social media buddies, but um yeah, man, he's still he's still ripping too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, he ain't got no choice, dude. It's in his like blood. Hell yeah. Like it's uh he's one of us. He's like he's like that, he ain't got no choice. So the wheels fall off. Yeah, yeah, like like good things we can roll. Yeah. My man. And uh and so uh Pete Kelly got me uh a lot of gigs, dude. Like uh one time I was uh at the Surf Expo, and then I met some lady just out of the blue, she gave me her card or something. They wanted to start some like kind of surf expo type thing, and I gave her Pete's number, and all and they kind of hooked up, and Pete put up this big old proposal and everything to for this like it's not surf expo yet, and um so that kind of fell through, and then he got a job at the Surf Expo, running the whole skateboarding thing, and I was like the guy under him.
SPEAKER_05Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_03And uh so we ran that for a f a few years, and um that was a good insider job. Hell yeah, I can imagine. And um fun times so that was uh yeah, he got me. Matter of fact, he got me um the gig when I moved here, uh Navigator Truck Company. Okay. So Navigator Truck Company was trucks, they were in um I want to say Phoenix area. Okay, and um they were trying to push out with some new trucks, and uh it was I was on the team, Pete Kelly, Rob Aaron, Chris Coogan, remember this guy Gator and uh Gator Gator? Not Gator Rogowski. No, nope, he didn't make no mixtapes from the from the cell. Yeah. Uh and then Jeremy Nipps.
SPEAKER_02Nice.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah. So for that, they were like, hey, let's do a tour. And and so I became team manager. And um nice. And so that's that's actually why when I moved to Jacksonville. So I'm like, okay, we do it, we're gonna do a tour. I'm like, how many cities can I do in a month? So I did like 27 cities. Holy shit. I know it's like unheard of. And if you go back in the record books, it happened. So we like we le we all fly to Phoenix. We get in Phoenix and you count the damn cities all the way to Jacksonville. Damn. And that's like we were in the car and gone, you know, every time, you know, Dallas, Lafayette, New Orleans, stopped at my mom's house, the whole team jumped. Hell yeah, hell yeah. Then I was just moved to Jacksonville. We all made it to Jacksonville, slept at my house, headed up to South Carolina or something. Um that was a big ass tour. Jeremy Nibbs was uh he was a little younger then, and um, but he was a high flyer and stuff back then, too. That's wild, man. Twenty-seven cities in thirty days. Yeah, it was off the chain. It was fun. And I I mean it was February too. Yeah. It was uh just driving on the road and everything in the van with everybody was so fun. Running out of gas in the mountains. Oh, hell yeah. That's the best. Some guy just pulls over, just like we're there for like 30 minutes, and some guy with like 20 lawnmowers pulls over and he's like, Hey, I need some gas.

SPEAKER_03Yeah, that was a lot of adventures I don't remember. So, what year did you uh move to Jacksonville? Jacksonville was 2006, seven, six, two thousand six. I left San Francisco and I went to Sarasota for a minute. Skated down there, met some cats. Wife had that traveling nurse job, you know. So that's how we got back over this way. And then we came up here to Jacksonville.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03I was like, dude, let's move to Jacksonville.
SPEAKER_00Like a big old city next to the ocean.
SPEAKER_03Cool skate scene. Yeah, man, like because I'd already met Peterson like so long ago in Tampa. Like, and um so he was cool, and then the whole uh flat line. Oh yeah, guys. Shout out Joey and Ryan and all them boys, all those guys. Uh George Evans, who's still a George great friend of mine now, and and Joey was off. I go places and there's stories about Joey like ollying over stuff. Like I went down Satellite Beach. Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_00One time that guy, Joey Corey, he came over here and he just oligot that whole thing to flat heel flat bandit.
SPEAKER_03Scooter, scooter told me that story when I went down there, just out of the blue. And uh, of course, they got the Corey Gap over there in St. Augustine. Yeah, so yeah, so I seen that all those guys, and I was like, man, what a scene. That place is awesome. But I did not know it was a whole bunch of different little scenes. Yeah, like it was about three or four different scenes that come together here and there, you know. So um it was all over the place, and Jacksonville was huge. So I moved to St. Augustine.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I hear you. Yeah, no, we definitely have our little clicks in our scene.
SPEAKER_03It's opening up uh because of uh social media, you know, everybody's doing good. Yeah, I mean the scene was always I mean it's it's what makes makes it, you know, it's uh the groups of people. It's just ever since high school I always fit out in with every group, you know.
SPEAKER_04Every group was kind of there too. I mean, I hung out with the hip hop kids, the punk rockers, the fucking stoner reggae kids, everybody. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And that and I was a skater guy that uh listened to heavy metal and I hung out with all those guys. So when I went to skate scenes, um when I go to a skate scene, I s I could see all that stuff. You know, I want to be friends with everybody. And matter of fact, that's why I started SCU TV, uh South Coast

SPEAKER_03Uprising. If you ever see that symbol, it's South Coast Uprising.
SPEAKER_04South Coast Uprising. And um I think I see a little something on the uh floor over there.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. See. And uh so I got uh I had a video in Pensacola because I'm going back to there. I'm all over. It's like my life. All good. So I I we were riding around, it happened to be 98. Skate 98. Oh man, that's catchy. So we're riding around, oh skate 98, and we're filming each other and all, and then we get back and I want to show all my friends what we did. So I'm fast forwarding through all the footage and showing people what we did, and then I started editing that, you know, to show people because you know you'd all go back to the like a hangout, which was my house, right, and throw on some tapes, yeah, and uh just watch endless amounts of videos. And um, and thank goodness for that, because my friend Brian Jones, when I got back into skateboarding, um, Brian Jones would uh we'd watch, and he would just say every trick as we were watching him in my ear. And so that's how I learned all the tricks. As I'm watching that, he'd be like, Nolly this, blah, blah, blah, blah. And um, so I gotta credit him for all that. Uh man, Jones. So so I went to skate 98, and then I looked at Blab TV, and I put um a little show on Blab TV, which was the little local thing in Pensacola. And then I was listening to some uh Master P. He was talking about the South Coast. And so how I did that there was uh I went ahead and called it South Coast Uprising.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03And um SCU TV is where it come out of that South Coast Uprising, and I got a little team together. You know, this is before social media, and so because back then let me let me straighten up right here. Back then, before the social media, okay, skaters would go to every city, and there was a core group of skaters in every city, and when you went there, there was like this total amount of respect that you showed when you went there, and you was pretty much accepted like family, part of the tribe, dude. It was it it was so good, and I started to realize that and that was already in place, I didn't invent this shit. Um, and so I was started traveling, you know, all the way from Texas and all my homies in New Orleans and then Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Panhandle, and then I started going to Tampa too, and that's the whole South Coast. And um, so I made this video of everybody from those little core sections. Oh yeah. Everybody in each section, like your guys plus skate shop. So I I've been knowing those guys uh a long time before he had that shop, you know, when he bought it from Mike. And uh he's been there forever. Lee is the best dude. He's such he's like one of the core dudes. He like I'm so happy he's here in the South, plus, and then Keith went over there and opened up Plus in um Orlando. But as far as core shops in there, you know, you got Tampa and different things like that. But right, those those guys are are ours, and they always did things for skaters. Hell yeah. Always. Uh so just meeting up with everybody, filming that, and then I get those skate shops, and they would they'd give me like a hundred bucks to to put it on. And I would go in uh in the back of Blockbuster, pull up some um old cases, and then I would daisy chain like all my videos, and I had SCU 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, was pretty much like that. I just went from the camera with a CD player hooked in there, the red, and then I made these videos. And when they synced up, it was special. Wow. When that shit synced up, it was like the bomb. And so you know it had pros on there from uh from Tampa, and then when people come through, had little segments, and of course I introduced everything going throughout it, and then I got computer for uh two for the seventh one, so seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen. I did.
SPEAKER_04And these are computers not like the ones you have today, children. Let's just go ahead and say that. Editing editing media then is not what it is now. So this was no easy task for you. Equipment was uh Yeah, it was um This was when Radio Shack was still around.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, actually with the Radio Shack. You get some pieces, you have to convert things and push things down, and you know, whether like whoever got the last tape, it was kind of shady. You know, like that last board that's pressed is kind of flat in that first one. Yeah, you know, you get the clone of a clone if you multiplicity. But I'd go around with all these tapes, man. I'd have hundreds of tapes. Wow, stacks of tapes, and I'd go and I'd pretty much give them away. But skaters would buy them five dollars here and there. And um, the money, now I mean I never really put the money together and like did something big. I just kept going. Yeah. I put some money in the Ford Ranger and just kept doing that, and that was that was really special to me. And then I got to Big Air. Oh, yeah. I'm going back, and um, and that was the last one. And what happened was I went back home and my dad was homeless and uh had him come live with me. So he comes live with me, and everything's going great. I get home, you know. Hey dad, he's cooking everything. Find out he had a cancer. Anyway, fuck cancer. Fuck cancer. And then um, you know, so I took care of him for a little bit and and all that stuff kind of went on the side, kind of. I don't want to that's not like a blame for anything. No, I get what you yeah, I totally understand what you mean. And actually, I met my I met Brenda like right there after. Like she was my dad's respiratory tech too, just per chance. She actually met my dad. That's kind of a crazy thing, too. And um, so yeah, I went from from that to her to hurricane, so SCU was gone, you know, yeah, as far as uh that part. And then I moved over here and everything's been great. Hell yeah. But SCU TV always it it was always my chin, you know, having my friends and just and I didn't care if you was like super duper awesome. I was just highlighting people that had the stoke. Hell yeah, man. Highlighting everybody with the stoke. That's I I was more like a promoter. Like if you have any of my cards from back then, I was just promoting skateboarding, promoting skateboarding.
SPEAKER_04Well, that's awesome, and I appreciate that. That's honestly what this all started out with, you know, doing. I was like fucking wanting to highlight all the people that inspire me to keep going out and try to be the rattest motherfucker I can be. You know what I mean? Keep doing it every day. I feel like there's so many people that are, you know, don't get the spotlight or are unsung heroes in our community and in our scene. And that's I'm just like, come on, let's talk about your journey and thank you for everything you've done to contribute to skateboarding.
SPEAKER_03Yes, we all have a story to that, you know. Yeah, for sure. And uh there's a lot of people up and down Florida, like Scooter over there in um Cocoa Beach. He reminds me of myself a lot. Jay Turner, he reminds me of myself a lot. Uh people like that I click with, you know, people that promote skateboarding.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And um it's just a different realm. And I'm like, the younger guys are coming by and they're they're doing it. But just that grassroots, the people that did it for the grassroots thing. You know, that whole Burning South tour in the beginning. Hell yeah. Um, that that was special stuff where people would uh drive around. Remember those core cities I was telling you about? Yeah, they're all over this country. Um that guy Julian Ju Ju Julian, he's from here now. Julian. Oh yeah, Julian.
SPEAKER_04Um we had him on the what's Julian's last name? Ju. Huh? Ju. Julian. Uh Julian. Julian. Julian um. We had him on the fucking podcast. What's his last name?
SPEAKER_03We love you, dude. We love you, brother. Anyway, he's from uh he was uh North Carolina or South Carolina. Virginia. Yeah, Virginia Beach, I think. Yeah, so I would always see him here and there, you know, and uh it was just a cat that he was like one of those guys in that corner. Julian Etheridge. SPEAKER_03Shout out he's one of those guys where um I've always I've seen him over there. Yeah, so if there was something fucking good going on, you know, he was there. And then he happened to be in Jacksonville too. Hell yeah, dropping names like that. I don't know why we dropped your name, because probably because you're cool. Probably because you're cool. There's so many people that I'm not gonna drop their name um because I am going blank. Uh that happens sometimes when the mics are hot and the cameras are on. You know, you if I if I went down, you know, through all the cities, you know, like Pensacola's got so many people. Tim, Tim Thompson over there at Brown Burger. Brown Bag Burger. Brown Bag Burger? Dude, you have got to go to Brown Bag Burger if you go to Pensacola Skate Park. I'll have to check that out. And um What's that all about? John Shell over there and then Water Boys over there. They uh they actually took care of me. You know, they weren't there wasn't like a core skate shop, but they had a skate shop and he did a lot of surfing and everything like that. He sponsored uh a lot of stuff that I did. I actually jumped like 40 feet one time, getting pulled by a motorcycle.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh shout out to Brian Patch, I seen that once. And uh I mentioned to this guy, it's like Shrapnel Films, right? So this guy is like, um, dude, did you see that? I was like, Yeah, man, I could probably do that. It's like, really? And so I get a call, and he's like, Okay, it's set up for Saturday. I'm like, what? He's like, Yeah, the band's gonna get there. I'm gonna have all the wood, and you can just build the you can just build the ramp onto the uh motorcycle jump thing, you know. I'm like, well, where am I landing? It's like over here on this dirt pile. And so the first one that I did was like tragic. Um so he has like so many sheets of plywood, and I needed so many sheets to get pulled by this motorcycle. Yeah, yeah. And so I had like five to land on into the dirt. Oh shit. So I must have tried forever. I died. I probably couldn't I couldn't walk the next day. I landed it, but landed in the dirt and kind of slid sideways. On that was the first attempt. And that night they had uh like backyard wrestling in this place. They had bands, and this guy's filming all this stuff for the video. Wow. Like right when CKY came out, kind of shrapnel films. And I tell you, the next day I could not even walk. I actually rolled out, like I had to roll out my bed and like crawl up my window to get out of bed. I was so just beep burst it. So then we did part two on the jump. Nice, and uh, so I I made this, he had the same jump ramp, but I made the landing way better for me. I had I had a landing pad that was probably like 16 foot, that was probably like eight foot high, and with this huge uh ramp that came down, and that's when I jumped uh the 40 foot that pulled, and um Waterboy sponsored me for that one. SPEAKER_03It was like all of them. Yeah, I mean no, I like I like them all. You know, I really don't bask in the uh skateboarding as much, like I don't relive a lot of stuff. Um I wanted to just like uh like everything I love, I don't really go dig into it, like Guns N' Roses and stuff like that. I don't know all the all the dirt on it. Right. I don't know all the stuff about the skateboarders and different things like that. But as far as videos, I probably had to say Chomp on This was pretty fun. Chomp on This was a good one. All star that all-star video. Um man, some of those videos back then. I think my favorite uh Trans World part was probably the in bloom Tony T's part. Hell yeah. That was a good one. Uh the cinematography was really good. That video. Yeah, that was a solid video. Excellent. That's when I was filming back then. I've I f I was filming a lot. I got some some crazy angles in my head. I got so many videos of um hanging out in Tampa for like weeks. Nice. Of like, so everybody would get there on like um a Monday, you know. This was all those core groups that we were talking about. Yeah, yeah. The Monday before. They would they would they would drive down there, you know, and um we're talking like 98. And so I'd see people like Pete Eldridge and uh they would come down there. I seen Dustin Dolan for the first time down there is eyeing off of a U-Haul on the back, like right there by that garage that pulls up.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Like just for nothing. You know, and and everybody's hanging out, and it's that whole core. I think Clyde was the um the MC back then. And and that's what uh that was really tight when everybody got together, you know. That was like our Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Everybody got together then, and I remember skating that I wrote for Crown Skateboards in Panama City. Shout out, Crown. And um, so he would take me over there, and I got in the contest, and this is probably what sparked like the whole thing for me is the attention that I got there. Because I was like one of the last skaters along day or whatever, and I did this thing where I um I skated up and I jumped off my board onto a board that was on the rail. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. 50-50 the rail. It took me a few times, but everybody and I got the footage, of course, and everybody like just goes nuts at the end. And dude, that propelled me. Like, like I said, I always did uh like to do stunts and different things like that.

SPEAKER_03And so I was in it to win it from that part.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03There was a couple little things in there that that notch you up, you know, you kind of level up, and I was like, This is what I'm doing. I don't care about anything in the world. I'm skateboarding. I I mean, I I just couldn't believe that nobody wanted to do what we were doing.
SPEAKER_05I feel you there.
SPEAKER_03And the creativity and and everything. But now skate park Tampa is like different. It's yeah, way different now. So like back then everybody would uh congregate up, you know, and and they would meet and and it would everybody's hanging out together and they're going skate, uh, different skate spots and everything like that. And nowadays kids like get flown in, you know. So where you had like twenty guys going down there or ten guys going from each spot, now you got one kid, maybe he brings his parents, they fly down there. There for the weekends or the week. Yeah. So all that um that that core stuff is all missing. Like it ain't there no more. I mean, it it still has the industry and everything, and the industry promotes it. Um but man, there was something special back back then when P Stone was around. Hell yeah. That's where I met him at. Um I think I met him in uh '99 or something at Tony Hawk's last professional uh skateboard contest in Huntington Beach. I was sitting right next to him, we were both filming. And um nice. That's when Tony Hawk did uh his last uh he's not professional no more. No, he don't skate professional. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04It's yeah. I uh can't tell you the how many times just from the lore of him coming here, like kids. When was the last time Tony was here? Is Tony coming back? I'm like, y'all realize that like the man's got adult kids.
SPEAKER_03He's retired. Dude, that that dude, I don't he throws down like a persona, like um, he's like a Taylor Swift escapeboard. Yeah, for sure. For sure. You know, like he's just a Taylor Swift skateboarder. I mean Doc would know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, no, no. Got all Tony Calvin's. Yeah, I met Tony and I met Riley. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yep. No, they both rule. They do both rule. And I remember when Riley was the first time they came with the Joe gigantic skate park tour here, and it was like so massive, and we had the big sheet metal street course down there, and and here comes little Riley off the bus. Powell padded up, helmet, and I think he like rolled in off the rolling and then just went up like the launch box and like kick-flipped and land on the deck of the box. But it's like the whole crowd's just like and it's fucking cool as shit now to see like what he's become as a skateboarder. You know what you mean?
