I bought an electric cat!
I bought an electric cat is a journey into Artificial Intelligence seen through the eyes of a single, middle-aged council employee and his electronic cat.
When Tom decides to buy a new "Electro-pet" he doesn't realise that danger lies in store for him and the residents of his block of flats.
I bought an electric cat is a "one-shot" story for fans of darkly humorous, fantastic fiction. It explores the dangers of AI, a changing world in which we have all grown more self-obsessed, insular and fixated by technology and the relationship between a man and his cat!
It's been a while since we uploaded a new episode and this has been solely down to life getting in the way of creative endeavours. Electric cat has been around for a couple of years but never got fully worked up. It was originally used as part of a live show to promote the book "The Spear of Destiny: A Kelso Pax Adventure" and performed live.
We have used snippets of the live performance in this edit rather than asking all the fantastic actors to come back and do it again. We made Tony do his bit again because we're mean like that and he has a fantastic set up to record at home.

A word about AI:
No AI was used in the production of this audio offering. Although the episode artwork was produced and social media posters were created using "ChatBox AI image generators." Normally we use illustrators to produce original art work, but it kind of seemed fitting to use AI for it on this occasion. And let's face it, ChatBox did a spookily good job of bringing some of the characters to life. I can't say any more, it could be listening to me.
This is a work of fiction and an original piece of work by Ben Brinicombe, so, you know, I reserve the right to be identified as the author and retain all copyright etc. You know, the usual stuff.
