Hey, friends, I want to talk to you about something really personal today. Not religious. This is not polished. Just real. You've probably heard this phrase before. You've just got to put your faith in Jesus. But what does that actually mean? Like, practically. Emotionally. Spiritually? I think a lot of us, whether we grew up in church or not, we can get confused by that. So let me break it down. The way I understand it, the way I've lived it. And maybe, just maybe, this will speak to where you are today. Jesus. Okay, so first, putting your faith in Jesus is more than just believing he existed. It's not checking a box that says, yeah, I believe in God. And moving on. The Bible actually says even demons believe God exists and they tremble.
That's James 2:19. So faith. It's not just about belief. It's trust. It's saying, Jesus, I believe you are who you said you are, and I trust you enough to give you my heart. My decisions, all my baggage. My future. That's a big step. But that's the step. Faith starts when we admit we can't fix it ourselves. We all carry stuff. Regret, shame, pride, fear. Faith says I can't carry this anymore. But you can. It's surrender. Not just emotionally, but spiritually.
Romans 10:9 says, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. That's not a magic formula. That's a heart transaction. You're handing over control. You're saying, Jesus, I need you. I want to follow you. This next part is huge. Faith is not about earning points with God. It's not about being good enough. Our society is transactional. This is all about relationship with the one who is good enough. Jesus didn't die so we could follow rules. He died so we could walk with him. There was separation between us. It allows us to talk to him, to know him and to love him. That's what faith looks like. It's alive. It's real. And here's the thing. Faith doesn't make you perfect. It makes you new. So when you put your faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit starts working in your life. You'll start to notice your heart softening. Your priorities start shifting. Your capacity to love starts growing. Not overnight. Not all at once. But it's real. Faith doesn't make you religious. It makes you new. And maybe this is the most important thing that I can say. Putting your faith in Jesus. It isn't a one time prayer. And then you're good. Putting your faith in Jesus is a daily decision. It's a relationship you return to again and again. Some days your faith will feel strong, and other days you'll feel like you're barely hanging on. But God doesn't let go.
Philippians 1:6 says, he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. That's a promise. And Jesus always keeps his promises. So if you're watching this and you're wondering, have I really put my faith in Jesus? Well, don't overthink it. Just be honest with him. Talk to him. And you can say something like, Jesus, I believe in you. I need you. I'm tired of trying to do this on my own. I trust you. I surrender, forgive me and lead me. That's not a screw up. That's just real faith. Raw and honest. If you haven't already taken that step, let this be a reminder. Keep trusting him. Keep walking with him. He's not done with you. And friend. You are not alone. I wanted to share this because this really is the crux of why I am doing what I'm doing with this podcast. It's what started this whole idea of just reaching out and encouraging people. And so with all that's going on in our world, I wanted to come back to the basics and remind you. So thanks for watching. If this spoke to you. Please like it? Share it. Subscribe. Drop a comment. I'd love to hear from you. Remember, you're not alone and Jesus is closer than you think.
