Hi there, it's Mark here. We've made it to the first Monday of the month, so it's time for your main edition of Ultimate Pub Quiz Super Genius. As always, I have 8 rounds and 40 questions, and if you have 40 correct answers, you will achieve that title of Ultimate Pub Quiz Super Genius. However, from this month, I've decided to bring back the old ranking system that I used to use in the early days of this podcast. So, whatever your score, you will receive a rating. And you will need that full 40 to become an Ultimate Pub Quiz Super Genius. But don't worry about any of that as I will explain it all later. I also have a plan about how to make this show a little bit more interactive, and I will let you know a little bit more about that in the middle break section of this show. Right then, I think we should get started. Here come your first two rounds for this main edition of Ultimate Pub Quiz Super Genius. Round 1 this month is very much a staple in pub quizzes. However, I don't think I've ever played it before on this podcast, so hopefully it'll be fun and it is a what's the link round? So the first four questions of this round are general knowledge. However, all of the answers are linked to something. And for question five, you'll need to work out what links those four answers. It'll make sense as you play, so very best of luck as we start your May Quiz with round one, what's the link? Question one. In the UK, the full name of the Special Forces Unit commonly known as the SAS is the special air what in the UK the full name of the special forces unit commonly known as the SAS is the special air what question so Robert De Niro Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci all star in which 1995 Martin Scorsese movie Robert De Niro Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci all star in which 1995 Martin Scorsese movie Remember in this round you are looking for the link between the answers. Question three The War and Peace Author Leo Tolstoy was born in which country The War and Peace Author Leo Tolstoy was born in which country Question 4 Which Rihanna song contains the lyrics so shine bright you and I were beautiful Which Rihanna song contains the lyrics so shine bright you and I were beautiful and question five What links the four previous answers of this round? So have a look at the answers you've got and see if you can work out what the link is. So what links the four previous answers of this round? Okay, I'm revealing all the answers for that round very soon. But before we do that, we're going to play round two. So if you haven't figured the link out yet, you can still keep on thinking about it as we play this second round. And round two this month is it says in the phrase. So I'm about to give you a phrase, and all the answers in this round can be spelt using letters from that phrase. So if your answer contains a letter that isn't in the phrase, it won't be the right answer. And if you're listening to this on the day of release, it is a very topical phrase because your phrase is May the Fourth be with you. And that is spelt M for Mike, A for Alpha, Y for Yankee, T for Tango, H for Hotel, E for Echo, F Foxtrot, O for Oscar, U for uniform, R for Romeo, T for Tango, A for hotel, B for Bravo, E for Echo, W for whiskey, I for India, T for Tango, H for hotel, Y for Yankee, O for Oscar, U for uniform. So very best of look as we play this, May the Fourth be with you. It says in the phrase. And question one is this In 1994 Oasis had a UK number one with the album Definitely What? Remember all the answers in this round can be spelt using words in the phrase May the Fourth be with you. In 1994 Oasis had a UK number one with the album Definitely What? And question five final question of this it says in the first round What was the title of Amy Winehouse's first UK Top Ten single? What was the title of Amy Winehouse's first UK Top 10 single? Okay then that is the first two rounds done and dusted. Here come your answers. Give yourself a point for everyone that you got correct. Round 1 was the what's the link? Round? And question 1 in the UK, the full name of the special forces unit commonly known as the SAS is the Special Air Service. The Rihanna song that contains the lyrics. So Shine Bright, you and I were beautiful is Diamonds. And for question 5, you need to work out the link between those answers: Service, Casino, Russia, and Diamonds. And I can now tell you they are all words that feature in the titles of James Bond movies. So service on Imagine Secret Service, Casino, Casino Royale, Russia from Russia We Love, and Diamonds, Diamonds Are Forever. So as a final point for the round, if you worked out that the link was that they are all words in James Bond titles. And I think they're also all books as well. So if you said James Bond books or James Bond films, congratulations, give yourself that final point. Round two was this month's It Says in the phrase round. Okay then I hope you made a good start, but don't worry if you didn't, as there are still plenty of points available. Right then, round three is this month's music round.
