Hi there, it's Mark here. We've made it to the first Monday of the month. In fact, it's the first day of the month, and it is time for your June edition of Ultimate Pub Quiz Super Genius. I was originally going to start this show, but I say that now that it's June, things are going to get hotter. However, in most parts of the UK, and certainly here in London, that has already happened, and this is going to be a very hot record. But don't worry, we will get through it. Because as always, I have 8 rounds and 40 questions, and if you have 40 correct answers, you will officially earn the title of Ultimate Hope Quiz 2G. However, everybody receives a rating, but the more points you get, the better that rating will be. So for this month's quiz, we have a mix of things that are themed to the month of June, and also some very random rounds as well, including a brand new one I'm looking forward to trying out. So I think we should crack on. Here come your first two rounds for this June edition of Ultimate Pub Quiz Super Genius. We are starting this month's quiz as we often do with it says in the phrase round. I am about to give you a phrase, and all of the answers for this round can be spelt using letters from that phrase. So if your answer includes a letter that's not in the phrase, it will not be the correct answer. And as the World Cup is beginning soon, your phrase for this round is World Cup Fever, which is spelt W for whiskey, O for Oscar, R for Romeo, L for Emma, D for Delta, C for Charlie, U for Uniform, P for Papa, F for Foxtrot, E for Echo, V for Victor, E for Echo, R for Romeo. So very best look as we play round one World Cup Fever edition of It Says in the phrase. Question one The Mona Lisa is on permanent display in which art gallery. Remember all the answers in this round can be spelt using letters from the phrase World Cup Fever. The Mona Lisa is on permanent display in which art gallery. Question two in 1990 Snap had a UK number one single with the song the What? In 1990 Snap had a UK number one single with the song the What? Question three, what is the official currency of Pakistan? The acronym BFF stands for Best Friends What and question five, final question obviously it says in the first round What was the surname of the character played by Wendy Richard in East Enders? What was the surname of the character played by Wendy Richard in EastEnders? I will be revealing those answers very soon, but before we do that we are going to move straight on to your questions for round two. Round two is a themed round and the theme is the word black. So very best of luck and here we go. Question one. Sirius Black is the godfather of which very famous literary character. Sirius Black is the godfather of which very famous literary character. And question five Which British rock star who passed away in July 2025 first found fame as the lead singer of Black Sabbath? Which British rock star who passed away in July 2025 first found fame as the lead singer of Black Sabbath? Okay then it is answer time for those first two rounds. Give yourself a point for everyone that you got correct. Round one was and it says in the first round and your phrase was World Cup Fever. And question one The Mona Lisa is on permanent display in the art gallery the Louvre. So it's a point if you said Louvre. Question two in 1990 Snap had a UK number one single with the song The Power. Question three The official currency of Pakistan is the Rupee. It's a point for rupee. Question four, the acronym BFF stands for Best Friends Forever. However, because the World Cup is starting soon, it is a football themed edition of the Wordplay round. So very best of luck, and here we go. Which item that you would expect to see in a football pitch can you spell if you write down in this order the symbols for the chemical elements: carbon, oxygen, radon, abium, fluovium, and silver. Okay, you have a few more moments working out the answers to those questions as we are now going to move on to round four. And it is the brand new round I teased at the start of the show. So this is a round I am calling one, two, or three. You're about to hear three answer options, and they will be the same answer options for every question. And for each question, you need to identify how many of those answers fit the question. Is it one, two or three? So you don't need to name the answers, you only have to write down the number one, two or three. It'll make sense as soon as we start playing. So very best of luck as we play round four, the one, two or three round. Okay, so your answer options are all movies and they are the movies Terminator 2 Judgment Day, Misery and Titanic. So question one How many of those movies were directed by James Cameron? So from the movies Terminator 2 Judgment Day, Misery and Titanic, how many were directed by James Cameron? One, two or three? Question 2 Admire Lard is nanogram of the European Football Club Real Madrid. Question 4 The football stadium that is home to a Premier League football club that has the initials C C is Craven Cottage which is the home of Fulham so well done if you said Craven Cottage. And question 5 is an element spelling question. And if you write down the chemical symbols in this order for the elements carbon, oxygen, radon, urbium, fluorium and silver, the item that you would expect to see in a football pitch that you would spell out is corner flag. That's because carbon is C, oxygen is O, radon is RN, Ebium is ER, fluorium is FL and silver is AG. Put them all together and you get corner flag. And here we are at the halfway stage of this month's quiz. And just a quick break this week, so I can remind you that this podcast is now a monthly podcast with a brand new 40 question quiz on the first Monday of every month.
