Aloha, It’s Shelon "Hutch" Hutchinson here! If you’re enjoying 'The Multifamily Real Estate Experiment' podcast, please like, comment, and share our episodes to help us reach and inspire more people. Thank you for your support!

In this part of the episode, Kevin Yoder shares the lesson he wishes he had learned earlier: fear of rejection is often a false barrier that keeps people from taking necessary action. 🧠

Early in his real estate career, hesitation kept him from making calls, pursuing opportunities, and doing the uncomfortable work required to grow. Over time, he learned that waiting until he felt confident or motivated only delayed progress.

The shift came when he stopped allowing temporary feelings to determine whether the work got done. đź’Ş

Whether you are leading a team, building a business, or investing in real estate, growth will place you in situations where rejection and discomfort are possible. Kevin’s approach is simple: acknowledge the fear, move through it, and do the thing anyway. 🚀

The action you are avoiding may be standing between you and your next breakthrough.

Kevin Yoder

let's shift into the focus round. what does Kevin Yoder do for fun? I find myself strangely, loyal to training. That's good, man. what is one opportunity, one door you walk through that fundamentally shifted your trajectory? That's a great question. I often recite it. so curious how we acquire wisdom. Over and over again, the same truth is thrust under our very noses. We encounter it in action. We are admonished of it. We read it in the written word. We suffer the experience. We gradually ascend to the advice. We approve it intellectually, the written word, but nothing happens inside us. What is the single most important communication principle, that you bring to every conversation? but the single most important is, I would say have something to say. Have something to say, meaning we, we don't all deserve the right to have an opinion, Appreciate that. what is one thing that you wish someone had told you, something you wish you understood a lot earlier? Yeah, man. I would say it's, What's one thing? I would say that there is a high degree of fear that was baked into my thought so for example, in real estate sales, I was hesitant. I didn't go for things, and I didn't pick up the phone and make the calls the way I should have early on. What does success look like to you now? the true answer is really based on moving towards something that is, a worthy ideal. A worthy ideal is something you're trading your life for. So in my world, it's, it is having a positive lasting impact on the lives of entrepreneurs that is not like skipping across a a rock across the water.
