Aloha, It’s Shelon "Hutch" Hutchinson here! If you’re enjoying 'The Multifamily Real Estate Experiment' podcast, please like, comment, and share our episodes to help us reach and inspire more people. Thank you for your support!

In this part of the podcast, Hutch and Keith unpack what it really looks like to pursue a new future while serving on active duty, traveling overseas, and trying to remain present for your family.

There was no perfect schedule. Mornings were already spoken for. Evenings came too late. Sleep was disappearing, and the pressure was becoming unsustainable. 🌍💭

The turning point came when Keith stopped searching for more time and started protecting the small window he still had.

What followed was not glamorous. It required sacrifice, consistency, and a reason strong enough to keep going when the schedule said it was impossible. 🎯

Sometimes progress does not come from having more hours. It comes from becoming more intentional with the hours already available.

How much could change if you protected one focused hour every day?

So for me, I had to be at work at 7:00, and then we're doing MCMAP, so we're getting to work at s- at 6:00. And for me to be there- Yeah at 6:00, I gotta leave at 5:00. And for me to leave at 5:00, I gotta wake up around, 4:30, maybe 4:40 at the latest. if I wanna make an hour of calls, now I'm waking up at 3:30 at the latest, probably even 3:15 or 3:00. And I did that for more than a year, Hutch. I woke up at 3:00 AM every day that I was home. Which by the way, over those eight years, I was actually overseas 13 different times, and so I wasn't home very often. I was over at Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, China, American Samoa, a whole bunch of those, Polynesian islands. I'd throw up a hotspot, and I would put on this very same set of headphones. It's a HyperX Cloud II. This is my third set. You can actually see. I don't know if you can, but I've got... the leather is literally coming off. I'd wear these headphones in my car, and I would make seller calls for 50 minutes. I wouldn't eat lunch. My lunch would be a protein shake. For four and a half years, I had a protein shake for lunch. Why a protein shake? Well, because you can be talking with a seller and drinking your lunch at the same time, and they're none the wiser. And, so for about 55 minutes every single day, I would make calls on my lunch break in my car using my mobile hotspot.
