Sgt. Anthony Anderson -A Father's Journey As A War Veteran
As you've seen, Season 3 is dedicated to my father, Mike Jacox, who passed away late in 2021. I Love and miss you, Dad. Thank you, #CatchSitkaSeafoods and #ACMEHomes, for your continued support!!!
Today, we sit down with Sgt. Anthon Anderson who shares one of the most amazing stories I've ever seen or heard. I was fortunate to hear about Anthony on The Revenue Builders Podcast hosted by John Kaplan and John McMahon. After hearing about Anthony's story, I had to go and watch the documentary that features him, and his friend Tom Voss called, Almost Sunrise where they walked from Wisconsin to California. Not only is Anthony doing amazing things to bring awareness to Project Welcome Home Troops, but he has also founded a beard oil company (yes, I'm a customer) called Lit Beard Co.
As you will hear, few can understand what happens in a war unless you’ve been in the middle of one. Anthony talks in depth about what "moral injury" is and how our veteran's experiences often go unnoticed and untreated. We explore how Anthony's challenges affected him as a father, and you will hear how being vulnerable is a HUGE strength for him.
Anthony shares why we as fathers must continue to lean in on our vulnerability, and model the story and behavior we want to see. I hope you all enjoy this episode and find ways to support Anthony and his mission. If you know anyone who has served time for our country, please share this powerful episode with them.
