Show Notes

As you've seen, Season 3 is dedicated to my father, Mike Jacox, who passed away late in 2021. I Love and miss you, Dad.  Thank you, #CatchSitkaSportFishing and #ACMEHomes, for your continued support!!!

Today, we sat down with Ryan Taber, a friend, a former college teammate at Central Washington University, and a business leader working hard to be the ultimate QB of his household.  Ryan is a Practice Lead at Aston Carter, founded in 1997 in the United Kingdom.  In 2011 they joined forces with Allegis Group, where Ryan's career started nearly 22 years ago!  Ryan continues to be a top-performing sales & recruiting leader inside Aston Carter.

Ryan is married to his college sweetheart, Dana, and they have two exceptional children (Conner and Addy).  Ryan grew up in a divorced household and split time between both sets of parents, which he describes as loving and supportive.  There were obviously challenges in that structure, but he always felt loved.   At an early age, Ryan was a peacekeeper and always wanted everyone in his house to be happy.

Ryan tells the difficult story of losing his mother on September 11th due to a long battle with Cancer.  She was a very strong woman who Ryan and his family loved dearly.   As he reflected on his life journey, his parents were strict, which he appreciates now, and taught him the importance of character, integrity, honesty, faith, hard work, and commitment.

Later in our conversation, Ryan shared his thoughts on motivation and influence as a father.  He also talks about the challenges for him and Dana as they sent Conner off to college!  Lastly, Ryan summarized our conversation by reminding us dads of the power of listening and always being there for our kids regardless of the situation.
