Our next guest has over 25 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods world with Coca-Cola, Kraft Foods, Activision, and now Georgia-Pacific. Tomorrow, Rob and a few buddies from Meridian Valley Country Club will announce an exciting new golf apparel company called Hamster Golf. You can learn all about them by visiting www.hamstergolf.com. In this episode, Rob shares his love for his wife of 35 years! They are now an empty nest couple who are so proud of their two happily married daughters!
Rob is a former college hockey player who played for St. Cloud State. His brother, Dean, played over 500 games in the #NHL and was the MVP of the NCAA hockey tournament when playing for Wisconsin in their first-ever championship. Rob grew up in Minnesota and was the youngest of six siblings.
Rob shares his story of the challenges of growing your career in corporate America and the sacrifices of what happens when you climb the corporate ladder. He would share a vital lesson he learned in 1996 when he was alone in a hospital.
Rob's faith is fundamental to him, as you will hear. Additionally, there are so much wisdom Rob shares, but to summarize it, here are his key takeaways:
- Pray for your kids and their health and happiness.
- Be present. Love them a LOT! Always encourage them!
- Never underestimate the power of a hug. Don't coach sometimes, but just love and hug them.
