The Me-Suite
How is work working for you right now? Welcome to The Me-Suite. There's a reason the show ranks top 1.5% of all podcast downloads globally and was Best Business Podcast Finalist competing against the likes of NPR's How I Built This and the NY Times' The Daily. The 250+ guests are amazing and diverse. At the soul of The Me-Suite is the conviction that we should lead our own lives with the same discipline that C-Suites lead the companies we most admire. Just like a C-Suite leader, we each need to stay true to our core values, to keep the day-to-day humming smoothly, and to stay fresh and relevant for the future we desire to have...what your host, Donna Peters, calls leading with a Me-Suite mindset. Each episode interviews a guest who shares tips for cultivating the role they want work to play in their lives. Put work to work for you. What Makes Dual-Career Families Work
Such a timely topic for so many. Your host, Donna Peters, chats with Liz Brigham on how to thrive in a dual-career family. HBR research shows that dual-career families take on one of three shapes. Which are you?
- Primary-Secondary
- Turn-Taking
- Double Primary
Research also shows that while 60% of households have both parents working, relationships where the woman makes more than the man are 50% more likely to end in divorce. And women tend to take on 7.5 more hours of domestic work a week than the working male partner. Research suggests same-sex, dual-career couples do better at balancing career aspirations and domestic duties.
Liz views dual-career relationships more like seasons. In this wonderfully inspiring and practical discussion, we talk about the need for communication to fulfill both parties.
Liz is a musician and music producer and even curated this Me-Suite Family Spotify playlist to accompany the discussion. How's that for a Me-Suite suitener! Liz’s core values are:
- Bring a social awareness that impels to action
- Luck comes to the prepared mind
- Find moments of joy in everything you do
