On episode #80 of the 2B Bolder Podcast is a woman I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for years. I have admired her ability to manage her events company, make time to volunteer & balance motherhood.  Andrea Lowery is Head of Operations for Augmented World Expo, the world’s leading augmented, virtual, and mixed-reality community.  Andrea oversees the operations team in the production and logistics for Augmented World Expo’s in-person events in the US and Europe and online events, including 30+  international AWE Nite MeetUp Chapters and the AWE Academy educational series. 

 Prior to joining AWE XR full-time in 2021, Andrea was co-founder and VP of Operations of Prospera Events, producers of InnoTech, The Technology & Innovation Conference, and ShareCloud Summit events, in addition to event management and logistics for a portfolio of clients.   As a small business owner for over 15 years, she had the opportunity to produce over 100 events in the US and internationally, honing her skills as a contract negotiator, event producer, and team leader with financial accounting and HR thrown into the mix.    Andrea speaks about the realities of putting on an event, the ups and downs, and what skills you need to have to be successful. She shares personal stories of her travels and experiences, from running her own business to shifting and working for someone else.  She gives specific, actionable advice on how to get started in the business.
