Episode 89: Josh Davey

This week we are joined again by Josh Davey, who first featured on the podcast, way back in episode 37. Josh is a marine biologist by trade, but is also a gun fisherman having success across all areas of SA fishing, from reservoir natives in his kayak, to Tuna and Kingfish offshore and plenty of Squid and Whiting for the table. We chat about all the work he has been doing to upgrade his Seafarer boat, chat kayak fishing and gear and also hear about his PB Kingfish which he has upgraded since his debut on the podcast in 2021.

As always we have all the latest fishing news from around the state including:

·         Sadly, the jetty at Cape Jervis is officially going to be off limits to anglers as a part of the redevelopment for the new Sealink Ferries

·         A Whyalla fishing charter closing down on the back of the prolonged Snapper ban

·         New rules around no longer having to display your boat registration sticker

·         Murray Cod found in the Bookmark creek near Renmark

·         Whales sighted in the Port River

We also give away our Shimano prize pack for the best photo we received during August and also launch a big squid photo competition for September! Our tackle item of the week is a Shimano rod case that Dizzy needs to keep the rods safe in the back of his ute. Plus all the latest fishing reports including Yorke Peninsula whiting, Barrel Tuna are back and plenty of squid across the state!
