Episode 90: Rob Cuming, Christies Beach Marine and former owner of Northbank Boats.

This week we are joined by Rob Cuming, who has recently sold Northbank Boats, a company he has grown into one of Australia’s leading fibreglass boat brands over the past 20 years. This has certainly been bitter sweet for Rob, he still loves the brand and the boats, and is continuing to work with new owner Andrew Harris. He will also continue to run Christies Beach Marine. We have a great chat with Rob about how the industry has changed and what is new, how the business has grown and a bit about his own fishing pursuits.

We also discuss the big news in SA fishing including:

  • An update on the proposed offshore wind farm in the South East.
  • Beacon 19 boat ramp at Goolwa is re opened after redevelopment.
  • Winners of the Australian Salmon Comp announced.
  • Illegal haul of King George Whiting on Yorkes

Our tackle item of the week is Savage Tackle’s ‘Burley Muncher’ which we love the look of and need to get our hands onto! We also chat about how our September Squid Comp is going with some great prizes from Shimano, plus we have all the states fishing hotspots, including Barrel Tuna, Yorkes Whiting and Mulloway around the Murray Mouth.
