Episode 96: Alex Carey

This week we are lucky to be joined by Australian Test Wicketkeeper, Alex Carey. Alex is a keen fisherman, having grown up fishing for Snapper around Port Hughes and has very recently bought his dream family boat a Northbank 600C, which we are keen to hear all about. We also chat about Alex’s fishing expertise; both locally around the Fleurieu Peninsula and big Kingfish while on tour in New Zealand, and also hear about who are the best and worst fishos in the Australian Cricket Team.

We also have plenty of big announcements this week including launching our 100th episode festivities which are planned for January 21 with a live broadcast, we also announce  the winner of the Savage Tackle Surf Fishing Photo Competition and also discuss our T-Shirts which are coming very soon!

Plus, we have all of the latest news in SA fishing:

  • Seeds for Snapper is back for another year.
  • New speed limits for SA Beaches.
  • O’Sullivans Beach boat ramp is up and running.
  • A new ticketing system for Copper Coast Council boat ramps.

This week's tackle item of the week is the Shimano Game Lure Wrap that we are using to get our tuna lures ready for the upcoming season. We also have the local fishing reports and where the fish have been biting in amongst the bad weather we have been having, including Kingfish, Snapper, Blue Morwong and Gummy Sharks from Want To Fish Charters and SA Angler’s land based fishing over on KI.
