Episode 106: Al McGlashan and Audi Croft, Fish Forever

This week we are joined by a huge name, Al McGlashan, who combines his love for fishing with his background in filming to produce some great content. His most recent show, Fish Forever, is a project he has taken on with his partner Audi Croft, it is currently screening on Channel Nine and is not only hugely entertaining but also a great way of bridging research and sustainable fishing to a wider audience. We chat all about the new series, sustainable fishing, what goes on behind the scenes and we even push to include SA and the Snapper fishery in series 2. Al and Audi  also talk about their beautiful boat - A Northbank 650 HT - Made right here in Adelaide and also about their fishing experiences in SA and around the country

As always we also have all the latest news in SA Fishing, including:

  • The tragedy that has unfolded off Spilsby Island in Spencer Gulf.
  • RecFish SA’s response to a plan to close D’Estrees Bay on KI to rec fishing.
  • RecFish SA pushing to close commercial fishing for kingfish in SA.
  • A proposed plan for the Cape Jervis boat ramp/Sealink jetty terminal.
  • Another country SA jetty closed.

Plus, we have a listener question from ‘Grasshopper’ about crayfish around Victor Harbour, discuss a great swivel which fights out of its weight class and also tell you where all the fish are biting ahead of the Easter long weekend!
