00:13:35.039 --> 00:13:43.759 Because it wants to be acknowledged, pride wants to be honored, it wants to be revered, it wants to be held in high esteem, it wants to be celebrated. 00:13:44.080 --> 00:13:46.240 Pride wants honor. 00:13:49.120 --> 00:13:52.399 And the question is, why? 00:14:02.080 --> 00:14:04.879 Because pride is rooted in insecurity. 00:14:07.440 --> 00:14:11.440 You will never find a prideful person that's not an insecure person. 00:14:11.600 --> 00:14:12.320 Let me say it again. 00:14:12.399 --> 00:14:16.240 You will never find a prideful person that's not an insecure person. 00:14:17.120 --> 00:14:21.919 And what pride promises an insecure person is power. 00:14:26.080 --> 00:14:28.399 Pride says, I will empower you. 00:14:28.639 --> 00:14:32.159 And then the second thing pride promises is it promises honor. 00:14:32.320 --> 00:14:34.960 You will be honored, it promises significance. 00:14:35.279 --> 00:14:42.799 You will be significance, it promises esteem, it promises reputation, it promises accolades. 00:14:43.120 --> 00:14:46.720 Pride makes promises, and it's rooted in insecurity. 00:14:46.799 --> 00:14:50.639 And the reason why I want to be prideful is because I'm really, really just insecure on the inside. 00:14:50.799 --> 00:15:00.960 The truth of the devil is he was just a little, little, little bitty, insecure little cherub, and he wanted to be celebrated, he wanted to be worshiped, he wanted to be applauded, he wanted to be awesome. 00:15:01.039 --> 00:15:16.399 And the problem is this he was awesome and he was honored, and he was beautiful, and he was put in a good position, and he was the brightness of God, he was the morning star, but it wasn't enough to him because he thought he was great until the most high God came in. 00:15:16.559 --> 00:15:28.240 And when the most high God came in, heaven stopped, earth froze, angels bowed, angels sung, worship descended, incense went up, and he said, I want that. 00:15:28.639 --> 00:15:31.039 And God said, Well, you won't have it. 00:15:32.399 --> 00:15:39.360 And sometimes pride, the problem with pride isn't that I just want to be lifted up, I want to be lifted up higher than you. 00:15:40.639 --> 00:15:46.639 See, the devil was high, but I don't care how high the devil gets, he wasn't higher than the most high. 00:15:47.600 --> 00:15:59.519 And when he saw the most high, instead of recognizing what God had put in him, and instead of recognizing the beauty and the splendor that he had, he said, I want to be like the most high God, I want to ascend above the mount of the congregation. 00:15:59.600 --> 00:15:59.919 Why? 00:16:08.960 --> 00:16:14.879 Because God was above all, and the truth of a proper person is they don't just want more, they want more than you. 00:16:14.960 --> 00:16:17.360 They don't want to just be higher, they want to be higher than you. 00:16:17.440 --> 00:16:22.960 But the truth is, my anointing doesn't cancel yours, my blessing doesn't discredit yours. 00:16:23.120 --> 00:16:26.159 The favor on my life don't take away from the favor on your life. 00:16:26.320 --> 00:16:34.240 The calling that God is put on me, don't take away from the calling that God is put on you, and you have to be secure in yourself. 00:16:34.399 --> 00:16:40.480 And the problem is you're insecure, and if you're insecure, why would you try to fix it externally?
