Pastor KJay delivered a life-changing word: “Faith is Generous.” 🙌
Generosity isn’t about money—it’s about your heart and posture.
🔥 Key Takeaways:
1. Generosity starts with surrender, not stuff.
It begins in your heart.
2. Generosity shapes who you become.
It’s not about making you rich—it’s about making you like God.
3. The enemy fights your generosity—protect it.
Don’t let people or pressure shut your heart down.

Welcome, podcast family. My name is Kaylee, and thank you for tuning in today. If you haven't already, please be sure to subscribe to our podcast at the day of the day each week. We believe that God has a powerful word for you today. So let's dive in into this amazing message.
SPEAKER_02My sermon title is called Faith is Generous. Everyone say faith is generous. Faith is generous. And I want you to know something about generosity that generosity is not a dollar amount. Generosity is not just giving to the church. Generosity is not just feeding a homeless person on the side of the road. Generosity is not just buying your kids whatever they want. Generosity is a spirit, it's a posture, it's a perspective, it's an attitude, and it's what God called you to be. God called you to be generous. He called you to be generous. And generosity is a form of godliness. Let me say it again. Generosity is a form of godliness. Never believe someone that tells you they're super godly and they're not super generous. Never believe someone that tells you that they're super godly and they're not super generous. Because there is revelation and generosity. You know, the more you know God, the more revelation you get of generosity. And the biggest revelation of generosity is nothing's yours. Nothing's yours. And initially, when you get that revelation, I'll be honest, it's depressing. But then after a while, it gets freeing. Because it makes generosity simple. See, when it's mine, it's really hard to be generous with my stuff and my money, and I've earned this and I've done this and I deserve this and all these I, I, I, I, eyes, it's really hard to be generous. But when I understand that it's his, his, his, his, his, his, here's, it unlocks me to be generous. And generosity, what happens is it starts to revolutionize your whole life. You become generous with compliments. Some of you guys, you see your wife, you know she got dressing, you know she looks pretty, but you're not generous enough to say, hey, you look beautiful today. Or your kids played a game and maybe they lost, but they tried. Hey, you did a great job today. Hey, you were amazing. Hey, hey, hey, you serve well. Hey, thank you. Hey, we appreciate you. Like just being naturally generous. Like, how often do you walk around and water other people? Because the Bible says, He that water shall be water. She that water shall be water. Do you water people? Do you water people? And I'll tell you, if you're a person that waters people, people will always flock around you. People will always flock around you if you're a person that waters people. And people see you and they're kind of like, mmm, that means you ain't watering nobody. Water people. Be generous. Eat with people. Pick up the tab. Give, give, give. And here's why people aren't generous is because they get burned. You were burned. You dated that guy, he used you, he took everything you had. You dated that girl, she used you for just your money. You gave to those people and they didn't give back to you. You let someone borrow something and they never brought it back. You gave to a friend and they didn't care. Maybe you gave to a church and you didn't get what you feel like you should have got. And you were generous and you got burned and it closed off your heart, and your heart's been bruised to generosity. But the truth of generosity is I don't give because I'm expecting something from someone else. Because just because you gave to somebody and they didn't give it back to you, guess what? God always gives it back to you. God always returns it back to you. God always makes everything right. I don't care. I'm not, I used to have this thing where I'm like, I'm trying to tip the skills, like, oh, well, I don't want to give to this person because I don't know their real motives. And I'm like, I don't let God worry about all that. I'm just gonna be generous and God's gonna find me and He's gonna be generous towards me. I don't need you to be generous towards me because God's generous towards me. And when you and your generosity don't have a generosity that you're expecting things from people, you're expecting God to bring a return on your generosity. And the main key of generosity is this generosity isn't designed to make you something, it's designed to make you someone. It changes who you are. I'm not trying to use generosity to make me more money or get more income or get more wealth. I'm using generosity to change who I am, to change the fabric of my being. All of a sudden, when you become a generous person, sin starts breaking off of your life. And anger and bitterness and guilt, generosity and all of these negative things can't live at the same time. That if you're a person that's generous, all of a sudden it unlocks you to be a person that forgives, a person that loves, a person that serves. Be a generous person. But many of us aren't looking to give, we're looking to receive. But Jesus said it's more blessed to give than it is to receive. Can we give them a shout of praise? Faith is generous. And generosity is who we are because generosity is who God is. If you have your Bibles, go to John. Go to the book of John. John 3 16. Give you guys a second to get there. John 3. You guys know this verse. It says, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. That whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. There's something in this verse that's so powerful. It says, God so loved the world, he gave. But not only did he give, he gave his only begotten son. Have you ever been asked for your only? My wife and my daughter has a way of asking for your only. I can share until I get down to only. Man, I can share. I can't. I mean, I'm I'm like serving until I get down to only. And when I get down to only, it all of a sudden sharing gets hard. And when someone askes you for only, it gets frustrating. You like, you down to your last fry, and your baby's like, can I have it? You like. And you're like, am I a good parent or am I a bad parent? Am I a good husband or my bad husband? Am I a good person? Am I a bad person? Am I even a pastor at this point? Like, like you're you're second guessing your whole existence. And you're wrestling because you're like, this is my own, you know, my and we love wings not wings, and when I get out to that last wing, they won't some. I'm like, am I? Like I can give if anything. Catch me at 10 wings. I'm I'm passing wings out. Like I'm serving wings at 10. You can catch me at three. I'm still good here. Even at two, it started hurting. It's like here. You know? You catch me on one wing, I'm ready to scrap. Because I'm like, this is my only wing, and for some reason, it's like your mind is set on that one. You need that wing. It's gonna fill you up, it's gonna nourish you. It's this one. I did all that chewing for this moment. And you know that? Only. Jesus didn't, God didn't just give his son, he gave his only son. He gave the one that mattered to him most, the most prize. What meant most of him he gave to us. Let me say it again. What went what meant most of him he gave to us? He gave his only begotten son. And he didn't give him half what he gave him fully. And then there was an interruption in the Trinity where they were disconnected, and he did that so you and him could be reconnected. That him and Jesus was distant for a moment so you and him could be close. Him and Jesus were separated so you and him can be combined. He gave his only son. Why? Because he was modeling generosity, he was modeling to us who we are. So that's who your God is. The revelation we have got so loved, he gave. God so loved, he gave. He so loved, he gave. If you so love, you will give. You cannot love without giving. You cannot love without giving. So what happens is the reverse is true too. As you give, you start loving. So if you struggle in the area of love, then just start giving. I love my daughter because I'm always giving her that last chicken wing that I want so desperately. I want to practice generosity. And the crazy thing is, my daughter comes and she takes my last, but she don't want to give me any of hers. We were riding in the car the other day, and we had some Lebaburger fries. And, you know, I am notorious for just grabbing people food. She does the same thing. We need prayer. We can hear food talking to us. It's like, eat me. We're like, okay. Um, and I just took one of her fries and I ate it. And she said, Daddy, stop touching my fries. And then now she has this thing where whenever there's food, she always says her mom, she seems to come, here, get my food, daddy's coming, get it, get it, daddy's coming.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, dude, I am not that big. I'm not that big. Treating me like a nutty professor just like come on.
SPEAKER_02I'm tired of y'all treating me like I'm that big. And she just like hide the food, daddy's coming. So I was like, you know what, I'm gonna ask her then for another fry. So I was like, Rainey, can I have a fry? And she was like, no. I'm like, no, she said no. So I'm like, she's just playing. I tried to reach, she hit my hand down. I'm like, woo. And I'm like, so you're not gonna give daddy one? And she's like, no. So then her mom was like, Well, I got this. Are you gonna give your daddy a fry? She said, no. She was like, dang, I thought I had this under control. Um and I got to thinking. I'm like, first of all, I don't even need your fries. That's number one. Second of all, I just want to see if you'll give me one. Third of all, you wouldn't even have no fries if it weren't for me. First of all, I bought these fries. Fifth of all, I'm the source of these fries. Sixth of all, you wouldn't even eat if I didn't buy you food.
SPEAKER_01And then I got to thinking, how you gonna be stingy with something I gave you? And God is looking at us the same way. How you gonna be stingy with something God gave you? God gave you that time, God gave you that energy, God gave you that blessing, God gave you those ideas, God gave you that strength, He gave you that creativity, He gave you that ability. How you gonna be stingy with something God gave you?
SPEAKER_02God gave that to you, and you got the nerves to be stingy. How are you gonna not give back to God what God first gave to you? And my daughter needed a revelation because you're trying to not give me a five, but you don't realize I gave those fries to you.
SPEAKER_01And all I asked was for one bag, and you're mad to give me one bag, not realizing I gave you a hole. Do you know God didn't give you a piece, he didn't give you a front, he gave you his hole, son?
SPEAKER_02When he askes for something, when he askes us for something, and it may not be money, he may actually lay something down, but we're gonna be so generous towards God because God has been so generous towards us. Can we give him a shout of praise in this place? Life is about generosity, and God is about generosity. And the enemy wants to attack and fight your generosity because the devil is stingy. The devil don't give anything, and if he ever gives anything, he has an arterial motive, and anything the devil gives to you, he ties a rope around it, so when he's done with you, he snatches it back. But God gives liberally, God gives freely, God gives and add no sorrow. Yeah, you might get something from the devil, but he has a sorrow rope attached to it only to destroy you with what he gives you. Then he takes it back when he's done with you, when he's done using you up. But God gives to you and it brings nourishment, it brings watering, it brings liberation. God is a cheerful giver, he's a free giver. And when God gives to you, he just gives to you because he loves you and because you're his. But God is looking for people that will give back to him. We always preach about how God is generous towards you, but I'm gonna take a moment and ask you a question. Are you generous towards God? Are you generous towards because some of you guys won't volunteer because you're like, I don't have time. How are you gonna tell the person that gave you time you don't have it? And if you're gonna be gangster, stick your chest out and just say, I don't have time for you, God. Say it if it is, say it, say it, say it if that's what it is, just say it. I don't have time for you, God. I don't have time to serve your will because I'm serving mine. Just say it. That way you can know what you're saying. Just that way you can be clear. Because what happens is a lot of us are gonna get to heaven and we lived under this delusion, and you just need to say the real, so now you have an opportunity to change it now. You don't have time for God. You're too busy for God, you're too busy being consumed with the things of the world, you're not generous towards God while praying that he be generous towards you. Well, I spend time with God, yeah? But do you spend time with God's people? Because when God measures your generosity, it's not just the time you claim you spend in prayer that we can't even validate, but it's how you treat his people. Do you spend time and make space for the people of God and the things of God and the house of God? There's a lot of criticism that can go to the church, but it's God's house and he loves the church. We may hate it sometimes, but God loves it. This is bright. We must be generous because God is generous and the enemy is coming to fight, to attack, and to sift your generosity. And you lose generosity because people will criticize you for being generous, people will criticize you for serving at the church, people would shame you. Why do you do this? Why do you do all that? You shouldn't do all that, you need to quit doing all that. Like, you have to be able to see through a thing. This is why discernment is so important. That isn't it funny that people are always attacking things that point back to God. It's so crazy. Like, you hear the attacks on church. I see it all on social media. Like, well, nobody cares about me, so I ain't serving no more. So you're serving to be cared about. Well, I just feel so used. When you're the same person as the altar six months ago saying, God used me. Now he's doing it.
SPEAKER_01You feel used up, duh. That's the point. Like the devil is tricky.
SPEAKER_02And the thing I'm most proud of is I went through a ton of stuff before I was a pastor. But I never let no one talk me out of the things of God. People say all kind of crazy stuff. Yeah, yeah, uh, I was giving one time at a church, and my friend was like, Yeah, man, there's this pastor in Atlanta, Georgia, you know, and man, he just be by Mercedes B. What can I gotta do with what I'm giving right here? So, because someone on the other side of the world is stealing money, I need to not give to God. Like the logic is insane. The logic is insane. You don't just give to a church, you give through the church to God because the Bible says in Hebrews that Jesus receives our tithe. He receives it. So, why are you always spending all that time at the church? Nobody gets mad at you spending all the time at the gym. No one gets mad at spending all the time at work, no one gets mad all that time at Walmart, all that time at these ball games with these kids that ain't even women, but the mummy you in the house of God.
SPEAKER_01Why you here all the time? Shut up.
SPEAKER_02Mind your business. If you don't want to come, you don't come, but why you gotta try to stop somebody too? Hater? You a hater, and you gotta discern people don't play with me. They don't play with me about that stuff because I start shutting people down. Why you do all that at the church? Why don't you do nothing at the church? You need prayer, we're gonna baptize you. Right. What you talking about? These are demonic agendas, and you gotta be able to spot them out. All this is demonic because when the devil can close you off to God, it closes God off to you. Because when you lock up your hand, then God has to lock up the heavens. But God said if you open up your hand and you gave it to him, wouldn't he open up the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing on you that you don't have room to contain? It's an attack from the enemy. You have to see it, and that's why the Bible talks about the ending days because the Bible says the very if God didn't shorten the days, the Bible says the very elect will be deceived. Which means you that really love God in this room, God says you will be deceived in the last days. And just because people mess up, don't credit that to God. Be generous, be generous, be generous towards God, be generous towards people, be generous at your job, be generous with compliments. Have you ever decided to go have lunch with someone that's struggling and hurting? Oh, you're too busy, huh? Busy doing what? Busy doing what? Because everyone is hollering, they're busy. Don't ask them about love is blind. Yeah, I seen all 12 seasons. You seen 12 seasons, but you can spend 12 minutes seasoning someone in the word of God. Man, this is getting out of line. This is getting out of line. And it's like we live in the most distracted era of all time. We got to get back in alignment and do the will of God. Can we give him a shout of praise? So we're gonna we're gonna go a little deeper. We're going a little bit deeper. And generosity is not about abundance, it's about attitude. It's not about abundance, it's about attitude. And generosity doesn't begin with your wallet, it begins in your heart. It's not about your wallet, it's about your heart. God wants your heart. He wants your heart, church. That's what he wants. He doesn't even want your money so much. He wants your heart. Your money is a vehicle to your heart, but he wants your heart. And God don't only want you to give. You know, there's some pastors you're like, just give, just give, just give. I hate to break it to you, but giving ain't enough for God. Some of you guys, you're like, okay, I'm gonna give an expansion today, I'm gonna give, and I just want you to know when you give, it's not enough for God. Giving ain't enough. Preacher, what is enough? I'll tell you. Being a cheerful giver. The Bible says he don't want you to give under compulsion, he don't want you to give reluctantly, he wants you to give cheerfully. Because when you give cheerfully, it reveals the posture of generosity. When you give cheerfully, it reveals the posture of generosity. So God is saying that I want you to give generously, and that's not just you giving more, that's the spirit in which you give in. You should be excited to give. One of the greatest things that I have the pleasure of doing as a Christian is giving. And I give in a church, I give my tithe, I give offerings, and a lot of times more than that, and then I give the people. I give the people. If you've been around me long enough, it's probably it's really rare that you hadn't received the gift from me. Because I give to people, and we give thousands of dollars. Me and my wife, we look, we give thousands of dollars out of our own pocket every year, thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars away to people. Sometimes thousands, sometimes a couple thousand, like thousands of dollars, because it's not ours. That's the revelation I can give. I have friends, they're like, How do you do that? I have a friend, he has more money than I got, really wealthy. He's like, Man, help me in generosity. How do you give like that? I said it's really simple. It's not mine. And if you think it's yours, go ride by cemetery and go talk to some of those headstones. The people ain't there. And look around those headstones. Somebody may lay some flowers, they're gonna die. And when you look around those headstones, none of their stuff went. None of it went. Which means that everything you're working for, this is depression at this point. This is a depression part of sermon. Everything you work for, everything you build, y'all. I'm gonna get I'm gonna get my money, I'm starting my second business, I'm gonna get it home, I'm gonna get some real estate foot, and then you're gonna lose it all when you die. I'm gonna build this company for my kids. They'll sell it for quarters on a dollar, maybe pennies. So, what's the point? What's the point? Why did God set it up this way? What is the point of having only to lose? Do you know that how you spend your money here actually determines your reward there? You didn't know that part. So when I'm living on earth, I'm living in such a way that I'm enriching myself in heaven. I'm enriching myself. I'm watering. I'm serving. I'm giving. So when I get there, because God said you actually can take stuff with you, but not directly. You take it indirectly. The impact you made. The Bible says that you should spend your money in such a way that people would get saved, and when you get to heaven, you would meet friends and they would say, Hey, I just want you to know, Sarah, I'm in heaven because you gave. And there'll be a there'll there'll be a great cavalry of people like, hey, I'm here because you gave heaven, you gave to that mission. This guy he flew overseas and he came and shared the gospel of my village, and I got saved because you're gift, and people are gonna bombard you telling you how they're in heaven because you gave. Or will they?
unknownCome on, God.
SPEAKER_02Maybe you have no one say anything to you in heaven because you're you didn't give anything, so nobody came to heaven. If you came to, if you're in a radiant church and you've got saved here, or your life radically transformed, or your life was changed by God here. I want you to lift your hand up. I want you guys that give here to look around for a second. This is where your gift goes. This is where your gift goes. There's people that's been saved, there's people that's been baptized, there's people that's been delivered because people gave. We almost didn't have radiant church because I gave, gave, gave, gave, gave, and then there was other faithful, generous people that came alongside of me and they gave also, and it was their generosity that empowered us to build radiant church. And my wife and I, and I don't say this to brag, but we have generously not taken a salary from our church. We ain't got a penny. I've never got one penny, not a dime, not a quarter, not a nickel from this ministry. Not one time, not ever, not a dollar, not a penny. And to be honest, that's not even biblical because the man of God is supposed to get a wage when he does the work of God. I don't need when God has blessed me with a very prosperous company. I'm good. But I haven't received a penny from this church. And the reason why is because I it was my gift back to the people of God in this church, and not only have I not received a penny, but I give well over a tithe into this church, and I give very expensive, very, very large and abundant expansions. Like I go to my wife and she'll be looking at me like, man, who is this dude I married? So it's real easy for me to be like, oh, well, I'll take a salary, I don't have to give. That's my gift. No, it's not. That's my sacrifice. I chose that sacrifice. That's not my tithe, that's my sacrifice. I still give above the tithe, and I didn't take a salary, and I still give generously. And then when I'm not in church, I still give to everyone around me. Why? Because we were made to be generous. It's who we are. It's not just what we do, it's not just what we do when we show up to church on Sunday and we feel convicted by the preacher. This is our posture. This is what we live. We don't just preach this, we live this. This is who we are. And in the Bible, our world runs off of this principle of reciprocity. I'm almost out of time, so I don't have time to teach it like I could teach. Man, I had a point. We'll circle back around. I don't got time to teach it like I can teach it. But the Bible runs off of this principle of reciprocity. And what happens is God set up an ecosystem where he gives to the earth, and then the earth gives back to him. And then he gives to the earth, and the earth gives back to him, and he gives to the earth, and the earth gives back to him. And it's the cycle that God's created, and it gets very mad when his cycle is broken. Let me give you an example. God sends hydration, he sends water down from above. Water comes down to the earth and it fuels the earth and it feeds everything, it nourishes everything, and then the ground dehydrates, and then the water evaporates. Why? Because it's going back up to heaven, it's giving back to God where God is first given to it, and then God now sends new rain and it comes and replenishes the earth, then it dehydrates and it evaporates back up to the earth, back up to the heavens, back to God. And our world worms on this cycle where God is watering and then the water returns. God waters and then the water returns. God waters, and guess what? God sends a flood and then little particles return. He sends a flood and little particles returns. And this is the principle of reciprocity, and everything in the world is supposed to run off of this principle, and when it doesn't, Jesus gets angry. Okay, let me prove it then. Um Jesus was walking, he saw a fig tree, and he cursed it. Now, the spiritual meaning is he cursed it because it didn't bear fruit. That's that's a spiritual thing. And so it was a symbol of religion. But another reason why he cursed it is because it was planted in the soil, taking nutrients, taking water, taking sunlight and resources from the earth, and it didn't give nothing back. And he cursed it because it wasn't functioning on the principle of reciprocity that he created it to. The trees get things, but then they reproduce fruit to give back because they first received. And whenever the principle, and if I have more time, I can preach it. Ooh, I can cut it up. I got all kinds of scripture, but I'm out of time. But the principle of reciprocity, and if he would get mad at a fig tree that just takes and eats and absorbs and gives nothing back, what do you think he feels about his people? That does the same thing. They take, you come to church, you just take, you just eat, you just hear, you get encouraged, you get watered, I feel good, and you give nothing. And that's okay with me, but that's not okay with God. I don't care. I'm just glad you're here. I just want to preach. I'm glad you're here. I don't care. God's taking care of this. But I want you to know that God doesn't like that. He doesn't. God's giving to you and he wants you to give that to him. It's reciprocity. It's reciprocity. So as my band comes up, the last thing I want to say in closing is this. God wants to make you generous. And it's bigger than money. Because if you can in a couple of moments, you can take a moment, and you know, you can give something financially, and it's cool. God honors it, we honor it, we appreciate you. But more than you just giving some money in a few minutes. Open up your heart, open up your mind to say, I want to be generous. And what your generosity is gonna do is it's gonna unlock your family, it's gonna unlock your kids, it's gonna unlock your spouse, it's gonna unlock everything. Your generosity is going to change everything. Generosity all throughout the Bible. You guys can play, I'm ready for you. No, just need some music. Okay, there we go, there we go. I need to sound spiritual, bro. Come on. And God just wants us generous. There we go, there we go. But generosity, it unlocks things, it changes things. Generosity makes a difference. So make a decision, make a commitment. I want to be a generous person, and it's gonna unlock something in your marriage, it's gonna unlock something in your parenthood, it's gonna unlock something at your job, it's gonna unlock something across your life. Even some of you single ladies, you're like, God, I'm just believing for a husband. Well, your lack of generosity could be slowing that down. Because in the Bible, believe it was Isaac, and he was it was time for him to find a wife, and the Bible says, Whatever woman waters you and your horses, that's your wife. What was it saying? Find a generous woman. Find a generous woman when you come and your livestock comes and she gives you water and she waters your horses. That's the kind of wife you want. You want a wife that waters, you want a wife that waters. If you're a single man, you should be walking around, not looking for who you think is fine or who looks good. What woman around here is watering things? Who do I see that's serving and watering and always giving at this point? I'm like, can I get you some food? You want some coffee? Why? Because you'll never go wrong with a generous wife. Or a woman of God, are you looking for a man? Find a man that's watering. You don't want a man that's not serving, he ain't volunteering, he ain't giving nothing to God, he ain't watering nobody, meet with no one, encouraging no water. What are you doing? You're just taking up space. If I'm sing, I'm looking for a man that's watering because I know my kids are never dehydrated. Amen of God, I'm not trying to come at you, but some of your children, your households, they're dehydrated because you don't water nothing. And you don't water nothing because all you do is take, and all you do is take because you're not generous. Today, the cycle breaks in the name of Jesus. We're gonna be a people that water, we're gonna be a people that's generous. Can we give God a shout of praise in this place?
