Pastor KJay preached a powerful word titled “Cover Your Head,” reminding us that everything in life starts with how we think and we must guard our minds with God’s Word.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

1. THINK TRUTH, NOT FEELINGS.
Focus on what Jesus said, not what emotions say in the moment.
PHILIPPIANS 4:8

2. YOUR MIND IS COVERED.
Jesus wore thorns so your mind could be covered in salvation, even in spiritual battle.
EPHESIANS 6:13–17

3. RENEW YOUR MIND DAILY.
A renewed mind leads to a transformed life because your thoughts shape your direction.
ROMANS 12:2

Welcome podcast family. My name is Joanna, and thank you for tuning in today. If you haven't already, please be sure to follow our podcast to stay up to date each week. We believe that God has a powerful word for you today. So let's dive into this amazing message.

You're taking notes. The title of my sermon is Cover Your Head. Cover your head. Cover your head. And there's many reasons why people cover their head. Sometimes your hair ain't done and you cover your head, but that's not what we're talking about today. Cover your head. And it speaks of the helmet of salvation, and it means to cover your head. Cover your head with the salvation of the Lord. Cover your head with what Jesus has done for you. Cover your head. Now, covering your head is vital. In any combat sport, the most important thing you can have is a helmet. If you're riding a bike, you need a helmet. If you're on a motorcycle, you need a helmet. If you're playing hockey, you need a helmet. If you're playing football, you need a helmet. Why? Because you can recover pretty quickly from an arm or a foot or an ankle injury. But when you injure your head, you injure. And your head is the power center of your life. Everything functions from your head. Your head is very important and it's very vital. And also in your spiritual life, your thinking, your mind, your head is very vital. And the enemy wants to come after your mind. He wants to come after your head. He wants to come after your thoughts. And you have to cover your head. You have to cover your head with the helmet of salvation. You have to cover your head with what Jesus has done for you. You have to cover your head with the word of God. Cover your head. You have to cover your head. You have to cover your head because the enemy is after your head. He's after your mind. He's after your thinking. Because if he can shut down your thinking, he can shut down your living. If he can mess up your thoughts, he can mess up your life. If he can mess up your mindset, he can mess up everything else that flows out of it. Guard your head. Cover your head. So you have to begin to cover your head. As a believer, you have to cover your head. Because the enemy is cool with you having this godly life as long as he still has your head. He's cool with you coming to church as long as he still has your head. He's cool with you with what you read in your Bible with all your highlighters. Some of y'all got like 10 highlighters. That's cute. But if you ain't covering your head, what that's gonna do? You know every praise song, that's awesome. But if you ain't covering your head, what's that gonna do? Cover your head. The most important thing you can do as a believer is guard your mind and cover your head. The most important thing you can do as a believer is guard your head. And we live in a day and we live in a generation where the devil has attacked the head of the church more than I believe any other time in history. I read old church writings and you read of those congregations and those church movements, they didn't have half of what we had. They didn't see the tendencies that we saw, the conferences that we saw, or the crusades that we saw, but they kept their head. They kept their head, and today anxiety's at an all-time high, depression's at all-time high, worry is at all-time high, pills are at all-time high, and I'm not being derogatory against any of that. If you need to take it, and and as you take it, say by his stripes, I'm healed, every single time you take it until you don't have to take it, because our God is a healer. But you have to cover your head because the devil is after it. You can ride a 1400-pound horse and control it by his head. You put a little bit in his mouth and you put some reins around his head, you can control this massive beast that's 10 times stronger than you because you got him by the head. And the devil can control you in your life if he has you by the head. And many of us, we're on fire for God, but the devil has us by the head. We're coming to church, but the devil has us by the head. We're doing all the Christian things, but the devil still has us by the head. We have to take control of our head. We have to take control of our head. So guard your head, protect your head because the devil wants your head. There's a war between the Lord and the enemy. And that war is after your mind. And whoever you give your thoughts to will dominate your life. You can profess to be a Christian and live a hellish life on earth if you give your head to the devil. So you have to keep your head because we live in a day and age where it's really hard to know the difference between a Christian and an unbeliever. It's really hard. We're looking just like the world. We're acting like them. We're going through what they're going through. Why would they come serve a Jesus that can't even deliver us? Want you to come see a Jesus that hadn't delivered me. Want you to come to see a Jesus that I can't even have control of my head, but but hey, come here to the church so he can have control of yours. Like, no, we have to model what it looks like to be victorious as believers. Cover your head. Come on, let's give him a shout of praise for that. Because any area in your life you're defeated in is traced back to your mentality. Any area you're defeated in is traced back to your thinking. So I'm gonna show you how to get control of your head. And God is so good, He didn't even allow us to decide what we think, He just told us what to think. Because He was like, I ain't even gonna leave it to you. I got you, I'm gonna tell you what to think. So we're gonna go to Philippians chapter 4, verse 8. And then the Bible's just gonna tell you what to think because they wouldn't even leave it to us. It says, Finally, brethren, whatever things are true. So the first thing you gotta be thinking on is what's truth? Whatever things are noble, you have to be thinking nobly. Whatever things are just, you have to be thinking justly. Whatever things are pure, you have to be thinking purity. Whatever things are lovely, you have to be thinking lovely thoughts. Whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, virtuous thoughts. And if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things, meditate on these things. Let's read it again. This is what the Bible is asking us to meditate on. It says, Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, which means you need to meditate on the truth. And the sad thing is, many meditate on a lie. Whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there's any virtue and if there's anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things. Let's let's just start with truth. The Bible is saying meditate on what's true. How often do you meditate on truth? How often? How often do you sit and you meditate and you suffer on the truth of God? How often do you just sit at your desk or you sit on your couch or you sit in your car and you think about the goodness of God and you think about what God has said about you and what God has done in you and what God has said he's gonna do in you? How often, how much time, let's be honest, let's take personal inventory. How much time do we think of, how much time do we spend thinking on the truth of God?

unknown

Wow, wow.

SPEAKER_01

Or how many, or how much time do we think, how much time do we spend worried, worried about, worried about what's next, worried about our next job, worried about our frustration, worried about what we can't do, worried about the kids, worried about the marriage, worried about what we're gonna do, everybody worried about that. Just worried and worried and worried. You don't ever think on what's truth, and the problem is you can't be set free because you don't meditate and know the truth, because the Bible says you shall know the truth and what the truth shall set you free. But how can the truth set you free when you meditate on lies? And if the truth will set you free, that means the lie puts you in bondage. And many people are in bondage because instead of meditating on the truth, we're meditating on the lie. And the reason why we meditate on lies is because sometimes the lie is easier to meditate on. Sometimes the truth, we don't like to meditate on the truth because the truth feels like medicine. And medicine is nasty. I don't want no medicine. I like I don't want that's nasty. We don't want the very thing that can make us feel better. We want to meditate on what sues us, and sometimes we're sued by the Lord. Sometimes we just want to sit up and pity and feel bad. I literally had a moment like this 15 minutes ago. I was like, dang, we didn't get the word out about three services. Now it's all over the place. People can't, people can't come, and I'm just like, man, I messed up and I'm I'm I'm going down the hill. Then the Holy Spirit said, Boy, you preaching on this. Shut up. I said, Yes, sir. They'll come back to church next week. It's okay. I'm like, I was finna start meditating. Well, what if they never come back? What if they come back next week? Like, it's okay. And I'm sitting here finna meditate on the lie because it's so easy to be gravit to gravitate towards the lie. But the devil is a liar, there's no truth in him. You gotta meditate on the truth in season and out of season. You cannot allow your mind to drift towards negativity because everything in this world has a negative bent, everything has a negative bent, everything is moving towards what's negative. Other day, had a scratchy throat. I was like, let me get on Google and see how to get a remedy to fix this. I get on Google and I type in a scratchy throat and they say, You want to be cremated or buried? I'm like, bruh, my throat just my crew just scratching. Like, my I was like, I'm good, let me get up out of here. Why? Because everything that don't don't Google your symptoms, I'm telling you, like they will show you your grave site, like don't do it. But it's crazy, everything has a negative bent, and you just gotta fight against the negativity and fight for the truth and fight to believe what's best. And the reason why you have to fight against it because your feelings love the lie, they will line up with the lie every time. When I feel something, sometimes I'm just like, you know what, let me go over here because my feelings are gonna line up with the lie. But no, I'm gonna fight for truth. Come on, somebody. Then it says, whatever is noble, which means ethical and integral. In other words, are you thinking thoughts of revenge? Are you thinking thoughts of forgiveness? Are you thinking thoughts of anger and bitterness, or are you thinking thoughts of forgiveness and letting people off the hook and giving forgiveness and giving love? Why would you give forgiveness and love? Because you need forgiveness and love. You need to give the very thing you need. You have to give it. And here's the deal: the hardest part about giving forgiveness and love is a lot of times the people you need to forgive, you feel like they don't deserve it. But guess what? You deserve it. Because unforgiveness is like you're drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. It affects you and it harms you. You have to think on what's noble. Good thoughts, noble thoughts, forgiving thoughts, letting people off the hood, giving to people what you want God to give to you. Those are the kind of thoughts you have to think. Then uh, pure thoughts, not perverted thoughts, but pure thoughts. Thinking pure things, lovely things, not profane things, but lovely things, not venomous things, not malicious things, but pure thoughts. The Bible says, Bless is the pure in heart, for they will see God. The purer you are, the more of him you see. Let me say it again. The purer you are, the more of him you see. If you want to see God, you begin to remove everything out of your heart that's not of God and watch how clearly you start to see God. The next thing is things of good report. Good report. You know, there's just some people that always got a bad report. Just as it's going bad, the car messing up, the tire going flat, the engine light on, the kids is hungry, the the the kids knows it's snotty. You just like bruh. Like, and every time you be like, How are you doing? Everything is going bad, everything's falling apart, everything. I'm like, bruh, I'm not really asking. I'm not really action. And next time I see you, I won't ask. I'm gonna just speak. Hey, how you doing? Not even gonna ask. I'm playing, y'all. I care about how you're doing, I'm just shocking. Kinda. Um I'm playing. But but you just gotta understand in this life, you can complain and be a negative nasty all you want. But here's what here's what you gotta remember. Do you know when you go around you complaining, you tell everybody your problems, you need to notice 90% of the people don't care. And the other 10% glad it ain't them. They say, Man, I'm glad you came by. I'm doing better than you. We good. You should make my day by having a bad one. Like, no, and I'm not saying that there's not people that you need to confide in and work through stuff with and sort through stuff with. There's people for that, but every person ain't for that, right? There's a time where we have to get real and get raw and dump out our dirty. I'm not talking against that, but what I'm saying is this you need a good report. A good report, a good like, like, did you get Starbucks today? Did they give you a Wendy's gift card? Did you find a parking spot at church? Like, you need a reason to have a good report and then praiseworthy. I saw a lot of our meetings off with a praise report. Hey, give me a praise report. If nobody got a praise report, I'm gonna give you a praise report. The fact that you are here at this meeting is a praise report. Sometimes I wish I was a worship leader because I say he woke me up this morning, started me on my way, he put food on my table, I got a reason to praise. Like, you got a reason to praise. If you have food on your table this morning, you have a reason to praise. If you got activity of your limbs, you have a reason to praise. If you got breath in your lungs, you have a reason to praise. You woke up this morning, your kids will woke up this morning. You you in your right mind, you have a reason to praise. So somebody give God a shot of praise in this place. I got a reason to praise. I got a reason. I got a reason, even if my reason is the fact that I get access to Him. That if you can't find a reason to praise, I'll give you when the veil was torn at the cross of Jesus Christ, which means you can go to the Holy of Holies and get close to God and be connected to God, and you don't have to be separated from God, that is a reason to praise that you are allowed into the family of God. That, my friend, is a reason to pray. So you have to think on what is praiseworthy, what is your perspective? What kind of perspective do you have? And if you don't have the right perspective, you need to do what you need to do to fix your perspective. I remember, I remember one day I was looking for my contacts, and I couldn't find my contacts, and I looked everywhere. I looked under the couch, I looked under the bed, I looked around the room, I looked around the house, couldn't find my contacts because I can't see it. So if I'm squinting, it's because I ain't wearing contacts or glasses. Praise God. And I remember I went to my mom. I'm in high school, I'm like, mom, I can't find my contacts. I looked for hours. My mom took my mom five minutes. She went, found my contacts. I said, How you do that? I said, how you find my contacts so fast and I can find it? She said it was easy. I spent$200 on them contacts. I was gonna find them. In other words, because those contacts cost her something, her perspective was different. I was looking for contacts, she was looking for the$200 she spent on the contacts. What are you looking for? Are you looking to just get by? Are you looking for a little guy that can dust you up? Are you looking for the king of kings and the lord of lords, the holy one, the righteous one, the one that no one is like, the one that no one is beside? Who are you looking to? What are you looking for? Because if you're looking for a little guy that can deliver you, you ain't gonna find Jesus. But if you're looking for a king and the ruler of the universe, you will find him with a power and authority in his right hand. What are you looking for? You gotta change your perspective, you gotta change it. And I just want you to know you were not designed to be defeated, you were designed to overcome, you were designed to have authority, you were designed to trample over demons, serpents, and witches and warlocks. You were designed to be victorious. And you need to know the devil is a defeated foe and he has no right to you. And the devil has been disarmed at the cross, which means he has no more ammo. And because he has no more ammo, he has to wear camo and camouflage like he has power when he doesn't, because he's been disarmed at the cross of Jesus, which means he may be waving a gun in your face, but there's no bullets in that gun, he's been disarmed. And I refuse to let a defeated, disarmed devil defeat me. I refuse. How am I fighting against somebody that's already lost? You're not fighting for victory, you're fighting from it. The victory has been won. Too many times I said in spiritual warfare, I'm fighting the devil, I'm going back and forth, and the Holy Spirit is so kind, he comes and he's like, You know, you can exit the battle, right? I'm like, what? He's like, Yeah, you can exit. And I'm like, how? He's like, the battle's already been won. Most of you guys think you're fighting the enemy, and I want you to know the truth. You don't have to fight him no more. He's been defeated. The Bible says, Oh, death, where's your victory? Oh, death, where's your sting? The Bible had a sense of him, it was mocking the devil and death. It says, Oh, death, where's your victory? You thought you won. Where's your victory? And death was rendered defeated when Jesus rose from the dead. The Bible says he was the firstborn from the dead. When he got out of the grave, he was saying, Death, where's your victory? Why? Because the victory of death was the right to hold every human. And even when you got the people that resurrected in the Bible, at some point they would go back and meet death, and death would hold them. But when Jesus got out the grave on resurrection Sunday, he said, Oh, death, where's your victory? Oh, death, where's your thing? Why? Because death can never hold him again, death will never touch him again, he would never taste death again. Death was rendered defeated, and because Jesus got out of his grave, you can get out of your grave, and you can look at death, and you can look at the devil and say, Where's your victory? Where is your sting? Come on, where's your sting? Death didn't only lose its right to win, it lost his right to sting. It's like a bee that's like that lost his stinger. A bee with no stinger, all he can do is buzz. He ain't got no bite power no more. Death has no bite power no more. Grave has no bite power no more, hell has no bite power no more. The devil has no bite power no more, and all he can do is buzz. And if you believe the buzz, then you're defeated. But if you know he's been disarmed, you can keep on moving. You can exit the battle because it's already been won. Can we give him a shout of praise? So we have to know that we have authority over the enemy. So you don't have to be worried. Some of you guys in here, you are professional warriors. You need to be a professional warrior, but you're a professional warrior. And worry is down payment on a problem you may never have. When you worry about something, you're putting energy, effort, peace, and all of that down on a problem you may never have. Because you can't be worried about something that happened, it already happened. You're worried about what you feel like is going to happen, and if it ain't happen, why are you worrying about it? Our job isn't to worry, it's to worship. See, when you have a gap between where you are and where you're going, you can fill that gap with worry or you can fill it with worship. Which one do you choose? Because worry is expecting the devil to move, and worship is expecting God to move. Which one do you do? And I refuse to spend my energy expecting Satan to move when I can spend my energy expecting God to move. Come on, somebody. I refuse. So the devil is doing all of this because he is fighting you and he is coming after your head. He's coming after your head. He's coming after your head. And I just want you to know that he has no right to your head. He's coming after it, but he has no right to your head. Therefore, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all of this thing, and therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Verse 16, above all else, take in the shield of faith, which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation. I'm reading that again. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. So the Bible is saying Take the helmet of salvation. So God is giving you a helmet of salvation. And why would He give you a helmet of salvation? He gave you a helmet of salvation because you would need to cover your head. He gave you a helmet of salvation because there would be an enemy that would come after your head. And in order to be protected and covered, you would need a helmet. And the beautiful thing about it is He didn't only give you a helmet of salvation, but Jesus actually wore, we always hear about the crown of thorns, and the way we see it modeled, it's like a crown. It's a crown with thorns on it. But if you go back historically and look at it, it's actually a helmet of thorns. It's not just the crown that goes around his head, it goes around the top of his head too. So it's not just the crown that circles, it goes on top. It's a helmet of thorns. So he didn't just have uh thorns going around his head, they were actually on top of his head. It's a helmet of thorns. And I want you to know that Jesus wore a helmet of thorns, so you can wear a helmet of salvation. And why would he do that? It's because you and I, we were supposed to have a helmet of thorns on, a helmet of curse on and bad things and terrible things. But Jesus said that he wore a helmet of thorns so you wouldn't have to, so you can wear a helmet of salvation that you wore, that he wore your helmet so you could wear his helmet. And the helmet of salvation, salvation comes from this word salvage. Um, salvation was to salvage you, so when you got saved, it wasn't just fire insurance, like you're just going to heaven and you're not going to hell. It was more than that. That you were being salvaged as a believer, you was being salvaged as a Christian. He was salvaging you out of brokenness, salvaging you out of pain, salvaging you out of abuse, salvaging you out of all the things that you've been through, that you would take something that was broken and thrown away and downtrodded, and you would take it and you would begin to salvage it and renew it and make it new again. That's what he done through salvation. That salvation wasn't just forgiveness to be able to go to heaven, it was sanctification. That when Jesus bled on Calvary cross, he wasn't just saving you, he was sanctifying you. He was transforming you, he was changing you from the inside out, and he was renewing your mind, and he was covering your head. He was covering your head. He was covering your head, he was covering your head, he was covering your head. So you have to put on your helmet and make sure that your head is covered. Now, I need you to know something. Genesis 3 and 15 says the seed of the woman, which is Christ, would crush the head of Satan. And Satan would crush his heel. So there is this war between Jesus and Satan, and Jesus would crush Satan's head, and Satan would crush his heel. But Satan lost his mind because he thought that he can crush Jesus' head. But he can never crush Jesus' head because Jesus was going to crush his head. So now all of a sudden, you got Jesus, he's in the Garden of Gethsemane, and he's about to get ready to go to the cross. And all of a sudden, Satan came to attack our head. And who is our head? Jesus, because the Bible says he's the head of the church. So Satan came to attack our head. And the reason why he would come to attack our head, because the Bible says if you scatter the shepherd, if you strike the sheep, if you strike the shepherd, the sheep will scatter. If you strike the shepherd, the sheep will scatter. I got this. If you strike the shepherd, the sheep will scatter. There we go. Preach this thing. If you strike the shepherd, the sheep will scatter. That's a lot of S's. Let's come through it one more time. If you strike the shepherd, the sheep will scatter. There we are. And the devil knew that. So when he was coming to get Jesus, he wasn't only coming to try to take out Jesus, he was coming to try to take out you and all the other believers that would follow Jesus. So what did he do? He said, I'm about to take out their head. Why? Because in any war, the most important shot is the head shot. You can survive a body shot, but when you get hit in the head, that's it. You're in war, you get hit in the head, that's it. So the devil came after Jesus because he was taking a head shot. He was coming after our head, the head of the church. So now he grabbed our head and now he incarcerated our head and he took him down to punch his pilot to have our head executed. And he was getting ready to execute our head. I need to pause right here and I need to rewind to a different Bible story. We're gonna go back to Adam. We're gonna go, nope. Let's fast forward. Let's not go back to Adam. We're gonna fast forward. We're gonna go to David and Goliath. And when we get to David and Goliath, David and Goliath fall, and there's a lot of credit that goes to David's slingshot in his rock. Now, David, when he was getting ready to fight Goliath, the Bible says he grabbed five smooth stones. And why? Because five is the number of grace. Also, Goliath had four brothers, so he said, if y'all run up, you can get one too. But when he got ready to fight Goliath, he knocked him out with a stone. And usually when we tell the story, it ends there. But something so powerful happened. He goes and he grabs Goliath's sword and cut his head off. Now I want to take a minute there because Goliath brought a sword to cut David's head off, and Goliath and David used Goliath's sword to cut his head off. I just want you to know that the sword that the enemy brought against you is the same sword God's gonna use you to use against the enemy. The same thing Goliath brought to take you out is the same sword you're gonna use to take him out. The same sword he used to come cut your head off, you're gonna use that same sword to cut his head off. So what the enemy tried to use against you, God's gonna let you use against him. What he tried to use to take you out, God is actually gonna let you use to take him out. That's why the Bible says the weapon will be formed, but it won't prosper. See, what it was saying is, I'll let the weapon form because you're gonna be the one using the weapon against the enemy. He let Goliath bring the sword because David was gonna use the sword against Goliath. So David grabs Goliath's sword and he cuts Goliath's head off. And what does he do? He cut off his head. So Goliath got hit in the head, got knocked out. Then David grabbed the sword, cut his head off, and then he grabbed him by his hair, which is what? His head, and then he grabbed his head, and he took his head to Mount Gelgotha. In the Greek, this means Calvary or the place of skulls. So he took Goliath's head to the place of skulls, and right in the middle of that mountain, he set Goliath's head there to show that the Philistines' authority has been broken, the power has been broken, the strength has been broken, and their might has been broken. So when Jesus was getting ready to crucify, when Jesus was getting ready to be crucified, the devil was like, I'm gonna get my leg back. I'm gonna get my leg back. So all of a sudden, it's perfectly set up for Jesus to go to Calvary because Calvary is where Goliath had to go, and Goliath was symbolic of sin in Satan. So Satan said, Because you tried to cut my head off and put it here on Calvary, I'm about to take your head and kill your head in the same Calvary at the same place. So all of a sudden, Satan took our head and then he grabbed our head and he took them up to Calvary's mountain because he was gonna crucify our head and kill our head and nail our head to the cross, and he thought he was defeating our head, which means he was out of his mind and out of his head because our head crossed his head, our head took the keys to hell, deaf and grave, our head broke his authority and his power, and the same sword the devil was used was used against him because he didn't know that the crucifixion was just a passport to the resurrection, and the resurrection would render him defeated. So he thought he was killing our head, but really our head would resurrect and crush his head because Satan, you can kill his head, because the Bible prophesied you can only crush his heel. So you thought that you was breaking his authority, but really you was only taking his life, and he would pick his life back up with all authority and power in his right hand. See, head is symbolic for authority. He thought he was taking Jesus' authority by killing him. He was only validating it. Oh, come on, somebody. What the devil took you through was designed to take your authority, but you wasn't taking my authority. You was only validating my authority, you was only increasing my anointing, you was only increasing the oil, you was only increasing the flow of feeling of the Holy Spirit. Somebody give God a place break in this place. So he thought that he was coming to execute our head when our head was actually executing him. The only thing the devil did was crush his heel, and that's why the nails went through Jesus' heel. It was symbolic that the devil would take his life. But he would not take his authority and he would not take our head because Jesus is still the head of the church and he still has our power. Now, what does that mean for us? What it means is in this life, there will be times where you feel like the devil can attack your head, but he can't. Because you have on a helmet of salvation, which means the salvation of the Lord has covered your head. But what the devil can do is he can do the same thing to you what he did to Jesus metaphorically. He can strike your heel. And striking your heel is symbolic for making your life hard, making circumstances hard, making people trip at the job, making finances hard, making things difficult. He can come and he can crush your heel. But I want you to know, even with a bruised bloody heel, you can still crush his head. Come on, somebody. Well, Pastor Cajel, how do you know that? Because the Bible says the Prince of Peace, which is Jesus, will crush Satan's head under your feet, which means that Jesus used your foot to crush Satan's head to break his authority and to render him defeated. He is a defeated foe. Come on, somebody. And if you veto the rights to your head, then I just want you to know you are a kingdom without a king. If you give the devil your head, you're a kingdom without a king. Because your head is the king to your kingdom, it's the it's the epicenter of your life. Everything flows from your head. And the issue is the church don't live out of their head, they live out of their heart. But the danger of living out of your heart is your heart can be deceived. Your heart comes deceived. The Bible says the heart is wicked. Who can know it? So what God gave you to protect your heart was your head. Your head is God's gift to you to protect your heart. And everything's supposed to run through your head before it gets into your heart. It's supposed to run through your head before it gets through your heart. So the enemy is after your heart, and it gets your heart by you not having your head on guard. Because the Bible says, as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. You're a reflection of your thinking. If you walk around anxious, guess what I know about you? You have anxious thoughts. If you walk around defeated, guess what I know about you? You have defeated thoughts. You need to know that the war starts in your head. That's what the Bible says in Second Corinthians. It says the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they're mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds. In other words, he said that the warfare is happening where strongholds happen, it's happening in the realm of your mind, your mentality. The war is in your head. You have to win it. You have to take authority over your thoughts. The Bible says, Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. That like a transformer, that you can change your life by changing your mind. You can change your reality by changing your mentality. You can change your life by changing your mindset. Guard your thoughts, and your thoughts will guard your heart. But many times we live from our heart, and our heart is stupid. I'm going to tell you something, church. You might not like it. Your heart is dumb. And it has no intellectual prowess. Which means your heart can love anything. I love this pencil. How you gonna love a pencil? You actually can, your heart's that dumb. Some of y'all need to look back at your ex and be like, my heart real dumb, huh? My God. You know what I'm saying? You look back at some people, you date you like, yeah, you're right, Pastor. Your heart's dumb, it can love anything. Like you can love anything. That that's why the heart can be wicked. Jesus talks about they were lovers of evil. Your heart can love evil, like your heart can do evil things to be like your heart can do that. It's dumb, it has no right to lead anything. Just follow your heart to the grave. Don't follow your heart. The heart is wicked. Who can know it? The Bible says there's a way that seemeth right to a man, but the end thereof is destruction. Your heart will lead you to destruction. No, follow God's word, which is gonna come to your mind, and you be transformed by the renewing of your mind. It's your mind. Let this mind be in me that was in Christ Jesus. Let this mind be in me. And so many times we make excuses. You know, I ain't Jesus. Why not? Why? Well, Jesus was Jesus, and I'm me. That's a problem. Because you gotta understand Jesus was actually Christ, which is the second member of the Trinity who lives in eternity. And Christ put on a suit, an earthly suit, a human body in the person of Jesus to show you you. And he walked through the earth as you defeated death, hell in a grave, as you healed the sick, as you preached to the poor, as you he did. Well, I'm not perfect, yeah. But you're a baby. Like, like, do you gotta be a baby to not be perfect? Like you can still grow in God and still not be perfect. Like, like, but are you being perfected? Yeah, it's like people amaze me. Do some heinous stuff. I ain't perfect. Yeah, but you ain't that perverted either. That was a choice. Like, come on now. Do you really got to be perfect to not cuss everybody out at your job? There's a lot of people not doing that. Let's quit making excuses and be like Christ. How about I ain't perfect, but I'm trying to get as close as I can to it. I ain't perfect, but I'm trying to be like Jesus as much as I can. I ain't perfect, but I'm following him as close as I can. I ain't perfect, but I'm running after him as fast as I can. I'm not perfect, so I just do nothing. The Bible, the apostle Paul said, God forbid. If you take the grace of God as lasciviousness, God forbid. You know that you're to be like him. He came to represent you and to model you to you. So as I get ready to close, I got a couple calls that I want to share with you. The snake made me do it. Okay, Eve. I ain't trying to argue with you when I get to heaven, but I read the story, Eve. All he did was talk to you. All he did was have a conversation with you. And I just want you to know the snake ain't changed his tactics. He rules through conversations. And he's gonna have them with you every day of your life, every moment of your life. When you lay on your pillow at night, he's gonna have a conversation with you. You know you're not loved. You know you're not enough. You know you can't do this. You know things will never change, you know it'll never get better. You know God will never use you greatly. You know your family failed, you're gonna fail. Your dad fails, you're gonna fail. You're never gonna be happy, you're never gonna get what you pray for. You're always gonna be sick, and he's gonna have conversation after conversation because he's sowing seed after seed, and you have to decide who you believe. Because the Spirit of the Lord is gonna do the same thing. He's gonna come have conversations with you and say, You are called, you are lovely, you are beautiful, you are enough, you're the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. I've never seen the wretches forsaken and their seed begging for bread. I own a cattle on a thousand hills. I can provide for you, I can protect you. Lord, I'm with you always. I will never leave you or forsake you, and you have to decide which conversation you will believe. Everyone stand to your feet. Let me pray for you.
