In this episode, Lisa and Julianne discuss the non-profit 501 (c)(3) Thundering Hooves. During the EQUUS Film and Arts Fest at the Kentucky Horse Park, Julianne speaks with Founder, Neta Ryne, as well as award-winning singer/songwriter Lynny Prince and Chief Matthew Black Eagle Man, both musicians and supporters of Thundering Hooves. From the films, Their Last Ride, 4 The Horses and Saddle of Hope, to presenting events across they country, Neta and the rest of her organization provide much needed information about horse slaughter and other issues for the horses in today's society.

“Due to where I live and work I am faced with the reality of horse slaughter every day!! When working on Thundering Hooves film projects …photos of slaughter horses that I took... are what I see across my screen and I am reminded of how they suffered! These images never leave my mind’s eye …I go to bed every night with a great sadness in my heart!
Being a voice for the slaughter bound horses, burros and mules is not easy and becomes more difficult as time goes by knowing that nothing has changed and they continue to suffer! Thundering Hooves has proven to be a successful outreach program by providing a platform to be their voice! We have traveled the country with films and special events celebrating and honoring the horse to draw people in to educate and inform them on the facts on horse slaughter and inspire them to take action, whatever that might be … for the HORSES!!”
