Not In My House (A Basketball Podcast)
We have a strong love for basketball and the doors that it can open outside of the game itself. We love to give current and former players, coaches, artists, and historians their recognition and the platform they deserve to tell their story and teach our listeners about the game and applying lessons we learn from hoops to everyday life. We don't care for hot takes, we don't care for debates but we do care about giving back to the game and giving people the recognition they deserve for their hard work, dedication, their experiences and their knowledge to give our listeners and ourselves a better understanding of the game, the business, and life beyond hoops. We also like to have have fun! Any Questions? Suggestions? You can email us at Notinmyhousepodcast@gmail.com Much Love to you all! Twitter - @NOTINMYHOUSEpc Instagram- @not_in_my_house_podcast

We don't expect you to recognize the name, but sometimes the unexpected turns out to be the most interesting. Chris Ott joins us today to share his experiences that involve multiple former guests of ours. He gives us a great idea of what the average role player in college basketball will go through and also the struggles of a first year Division 1 program.
Ott played competitive High School and AAU hoops both with and against some big time legendary names out of the Los Angeles area. He went on to play at Cal Poly where he was a member of the team for their very first year at the Division 1 level. That year Cal Poly had the losingest record for a first year Division 1 program (1-26). He then transferred and finished his career at Mercer. He shares some great stories about Andre Miller, Chris Herren, Rico Harris, Paul Shirley, Elton Brand, Felipe Lopez, Carlos Arroyo, legendary coach Bob Burton, playing against Duke and MUCH more.
This episode was an absolute joy. We know you're all used to our former professional players but we know you will love these stories and really appreciate his basketball experiences and the incredible players that he was able to play against. We felt this episode was important and very relatable to what the average college basketball player experiences during their hoop journey and we believe this will give you a greater appreciate for collegiate role players and first year Division 1 programs. Turns our Chris is also a fan of our podcast so BIG thanks to Chris for his time and for also being a supporter of our show.
Thank you Chris Ott!
