Shoot Podcast. My name is Jeff Dowdle, and I've been a licensed firearm dealer for the last 19 years, and this podcast will talk about all things related to the Second Amendment, anything else going on in the world, a sports story, or anything else I might find interesting. So welcome, welcome, welcome. Well- No guidance. That's right. The title of this podcast is No Guidance, and that's what we currently have, no guidance. And for all that have not been following what's been going on in the NFA suppressor world that means that the ATF has not issued the guidance yet that they promised us on how to handle the latest, the ruling that happened several weeks ago regarding suppressors and NFA items and the l- the decision, the injunction that the NFA registration process was not applicable and could be avoided, and that suppressors could be transferred as normal firearms. And since then, we have been waiting on guidance from the ATF on how they're going to interpret and enforce this ruling. Primarily who qualifies as parties to the lawsuit how d- is... should this be documented with dealers? How should dealers determine if somebody is a party to the lawsuit? And so forth and so on. And none of that has happened, and that has left the firearms community in kind of a limbo, fluxing state where you've got dealers that are transferring suppressors just as a normal firearm w- on what is called a Form 4473, and then other dealers that are taking a more cautious, conservative approach, and they're still doing it the old way. And for me, I am doing it the old way and... but to me, it... I am getting questioned daily, and I know this is probably a much bigger deal in some people's worlds versus others. The casual gun owner probably has no idea what this is all about and... but for those of us that are neck-deep in it, it's a big deal. And we have been waiting. They have been promising that they were gonna issue this guidance, and they said they would do it this week. And as the time when, when I push publish on this podcast, there is no guidance. They said kinda, I think b- this week, then before the 12th. The 12th is a federal holiday they still have a day left today, Friday to see what are they gonna, to give us instructions on what they're gonna do. So we will see, and if, if it does come out, I will hop on and go through what this guidance means and how I'm gonna deal with it and, we'll see if that lines up with what eventually other dealers say they're gonna t- how they're gonna approach it. But nothing as of yet. So no guidance as of today. October 9th Friday morning. But we will see if the-- as the day goes, if there's a late drop or something of that ma-ma-matter. So like I said, I will hop on and give an update as soon as I know and as soon as I'm available. So until then just continue to fight, continue to support the Second Amendment, and stay informed, stay armed, and, we will talk when that happens again.
