Intro Dude:

survive, thrive, stay alive, it's time to get prepared with the prepping Academy podcast

Forrest Garvin:

Hey, welcome everyone. This is Forrest this evening with you. Uncle Buck again is I don't know what he's doing. He's probably playing out with playing with his navy seals and Rangers, you know, me, he's always doing something. So he is not in this evening. But we do have very special guests with us this evening without introduce in a minute, but I want to go over some of our announcements that Hey, first of all, I want you to like follow, you know, give us a five star 20 star if you can, I mean, that helps us helps with the algorithm. We get more followers and likes then, and then everyone in the world will be listening. This is how we're going to do world domination. But I need you to like and follow first, okay. And that five star rating, even if we stink, I still need to go five. Okay, five is the lowest you can go. Hey, also, don't forget about our Sun Oven giveaway. If you go to prepper, net.com/giveaway, prepper net.com/giveaway, we are giving away a complete Ultimate package of the Sun Oven, which is the best solar cooker in all the world. And of course it is. And then another reminder is Hey, prepper. Net live, we record live on, oh gosh, Monday nights, Monday nights live at 930. If you go to prepper. Net YouTube channel, you just type in prepper. Net, YouTube 930 on Monday nights, every other Monday night, actually, I better tell you that it's every other Monday night we do a live show. It's mostly for our members. So we go through a lot of prepper net things and what we're doing but hey, if you want to learn more about prepper. Net, great place to go see all the activity we have going on through I mean, every almost every day of this month, we have something going on somewhere in the US. I mean, I think it is every day. So we got things all we got meetups and 115 cities in the United States. And there's always something going on. So go to prepper net.net, to learn about that. And the prepper. Net live is on YouTube. The next thing we have is Oh, we did a bug out bag alive bug out bag a couple weeks ago, it's still posted on the YouTube channel. You know, we didn't go through the list. Because everyone goes through the list, we went through some of the mindset, the reason you know how to store it, where to stage it, things like that, kind of like the next level of the bug out bag. There are there are 10,000 list of what you need in the bug out bag. And we just didn't want to go through that we even had a a bat G which is one of our females. You know, she talked about how her bag was a little bit different than my bag. We got all kinds of great conversation. There's a lot of questions and answers on the second video on that as well. So make sure you check that out. The other thing is, hey, we are supported by you guys. You guys sends us y'all send us 10s of millions of dollars and we barely pay the bills. Because no, no, we we literally supported by members we'd never I've done this since 2014. And I've you've never heard me talk about memberships. But it's $40 year that really helps us do all that we're doing, the more money that comes in, the more we can provide for everyone. But I will tell you this for the last since 2014 I have done nothing but lose money, but I'm not. I'm not wanting I'm not wanting trust me. You guys, a lot of you guys know what I do you know what I own? And but you know, at some point, I'd like for it to be self sustaining, and it's currently not. So go to prepper net.net soons, when the first questions you're asked is, hey, do you want to support prepper net? And you're gonna say yes, give them all my money. That's what you're gonna do. And that will help us a great. Hey, the reason we're here tonight, though, or the day is I've got a special guest for you guys. So prepper net every year we pick a couple events, and we make them like our event in a sense, we kind of just, I won't say we take over but we just go and show up in a large in a large way. And this year, we're switching venues we used to go to head his life skills and Waynesville, North Carolina, but now there's a brand new and they canceled so they're no longer doing their heritage life skills. So we switched to a new vet event in the spring. And this one is called Mountain readiness and I have I'm the founder and creator and the break well, this well, there's his wife, so I gotta give her some credit. But he is the brains behind this. And his name is we go by the name tea with him. Tea Are you there this evening?

T:

I am T. I am and just and just for the record. It Amber is is the brains, I'm more of the wrong type of guy, right? We all have

Forrest Garvin:

these Asterix when we talk about our life, you know what I mean?

T:

I'm the brawn. You know, I'm more of the forceful the forceful part of the of the twosome here. So she is definitely the brains, the brains behind a lot of this, but not all actuality. You know, it was a, it was a mutual thing, you know, both of us just putting our heads together. And this is where we're at.

Forrest Garvin:

And it's awesome. So I'm looking at the gas, I'm looking at your classes. And I would dare say, this may be the best event of the year that I've seen. And now it's hard for me to say I've been going to prepper. Net for 11 years putting up prepper. Net prepper camp, it's good, but I'll be honest with yours, your speakers are a little bit higher knots. And some of them, I'm just saying that you've got a great cast of people that's going to be there.

T:

Yes, for sure. I mean, our venue that we've got, and I and I'm gonna jump, I'm just gonna say it, it is, it's the best, it's, it's gonna be the best. And in the years to come, we're gonna keep fighting to be better and better ever every year. But this, the educators that we've got this venue here, even even from the educators that are a lot of the local, carry the all of these educators are just phenomenal. We've we've done a lot of work with trying to just bring in the best talent we possibly can. small and big. And thus far, we really just have a phenomenal, phenomenal crew that are going to be teaching here. You really

Forrest Garvin:

do. And so I remember we first talked last year sometime and I'm like, I was talking to bath the queen of prep anatomy bath. I don't know, these guys, they've never done this, it's in a new area, I'm not sure. Let's see what they do. And so we waited a few months. And then we talked again on the phone and you're getting some names. And I'm like Beth and I talked offline link path, man, they're getting some names, they're working this. And now oh my gosh, the list is just unbelievable, but we were unsure. But you've guys have worked this and have been I mean, you've been working your hands off, I can tell because you got a lot of good names. And a lot of these people I'm connected to which is even more meaningful to me and I'm sure our audience will be connected to as we go through some of the names as well.

T:

Oh, yeah, for sure. For sure. Yeah, we you know, this is this is one of them things yes, it's the first it is a lot of work and you know yourself been in this for as many years as you have that, um, you know, these things take time they take a lot of work they take a lot just the social media side of this is just it's it's a full time job on that that spectrum. You know, we we probably spend you know, we have day jobs just like everybody else and then we probably spend another six to eight hours a day just networking on the phone emails. But you know, all good things that they take work and so thus far, we're very happy with where we've, we've we've got to this point, and and we're still even though we put out our schedule, the tentative schedule for the upcoming event, we still have some educators and vendors coming in so we're not done yet folks. We may be adding adding some more names and a few of them are some pretty good size names in the business. So not going to name drop anybody else but but if it if it happens, it's going to be it's going to be awesome.

Forrest Garvin:

Oh yeah, I'm going to name drop you don't mind if I named drop, do you? Oh, no, not okay. So, so they got classes. So what I'm seeing you have like for over 40 experts, educators, and like 80 classes a day and this is on a big old campground. A lot of times we go to campgrounds and we're kind of restricted by the size of the campground and experiences. I don't think you guys have any limitations on this place. Do you

T:

know no 166 acres and we have pretty much full use of the entire facility sets right off i 77. So I mean, it's super convenient, easy to get 206 acres, you know, we can pack upwards of 10,000 people into this place and that's that's kind of the goal you know, as we move along, but yeah, phenomenal place. It has the primitive camping the full hookups. You know, Oh and then the printer primitive camping yeah there's a stream that goes through the backside of this woods all the way around makes it really nice for a lot of the venues that we're going to be doing with you know wild edible classes and and packs you know doing your your bug out bags and going for a ruck march and stuff like that. So perfect spot for this type of

Forrest Garvin:

how far is my hotel

T:

I'm 20 minutes 20 minutes down the road forest. route you want to go

Forrest Garvin:

I know you can I'm camping out myself it but the event just to let you guys know just saying I mean, it is May 5 through May 7, and they had still got tons of room for you to come join and camp. But that's may 5 and may 7. So that's month away. And it said harmony North Carolina, which if you look that up, it's right off. 77 is easy access no matter where you're coming from. You just got to get on the it's right off the interstate. I mean, when I say right off, I don't mean you exit and you're at the campground, but it is it is with miles from the interstate. But

T:

go ahead. Yeah, it's pretty close. It's pretty close, like liquid exit you you kind of go around the corner, turn right on the campgrounds on the left, and it sets back on that 106 acre facility. So

Forrest Garvin:

every year, we lose some people and that's just the way it is they get lost in the woods and we never find them. So maybe you could be that person.

T:

Right? If you know it comes with the territory, sometimes people get lost, right? So that's the whole point of this event right is to teach you when you get lost what to do so

Forrest Garvin:

right oh yeah, there's gonna be some awesome I'm just telling you, if you go to an event this needs to be your event this year, absolutely. Bar none. And I teach at many events, this the names and the people I'm going to tell you I'm going to share with you guys who's going to be there and then I'm going to tell you kind of the relationship some of them so first of all, I'm going to mention a couple guys that I know that they and you may have more now I'm just going to mention T the one the people I know and if someone complements them go ahead if you want to but two friends of mine is quit Chris weathermen and Alan Kay they were both only alone show. Alan Kay one the very first show and Chris actually lost his. His rod is ferro rod, a Faraday rod and not Faraday rod. What's the thing called I can't think of right now. Yeah,

T:

well, and he was the wolves. Yeah. You know, he's got a thing with the wolf. The problem with

Forrest Garvin:

wolves, what's wrong with them? But they've also already been they've been on my podcast. They've been on the prepping Academy podcast both them separate times. I think Alan's I think they've been on twice each in the past. But great guys, people that really understand like going out woods and being alone and surviving. Yeah, you know,

T:

Chris. Chris weathermen. Of course you know not. I mean, aside from his books, he's been in the the survival gig for years and years. vast array of knowledge. And then you know, Alan Kay, look, let's be honest, I'm, I'm not a small framed individual. He's a big guy. I can go out in the woods. And if you give me some water, and I make it two or three weeks, all I got to do is hibernate. I mean, it's not fly. But Alan Kay 56 days. Yeah, by his self, that that's a game changer that you can't get to that point. Unless you know what you're doing.

Forrest Garvin:

Exactly. Yep. And then another guy this is you know, I got weird connections to all these people. Stoney Ridge farmer, he is a co y'all know that. I'm a co owner, son of and he's he's one of our biggest Risa. I mean, he loves the Sun Oven. So I have never talked to him personally because I don't really manage anything when it comes to Sun Oven anymore. But he's, I mean, he's a big partner of Sun Oven, so I can't wait to meet him he's gonna be there on Saturday him his wife Correct?

T:

Yes, yes. Saturday. Stoney and his wife they're gonna be both there. They're gonna do you know as a keynote speaker and then they're gonna just gonna be roaming around meeting everyone you know, folks so you want to meet Stoney Ridge he's gonna be there all day networking with you with with everybody at the event. You know, signing autographs taking pictures. And let's be honest, I mean, Stoney ridge that guy I'm actually super jealous of him because he has some of the coolest equipment though. Like you want you to that guy's got everything. I thought I had everything back guys. Everything

Forrest Garvin:

so the cool thing with that I I've never met him and I'm not sure if my partner trip has but trip I think has already contacted him. So our I don't know if you guys know but Sullivan's international headquarters is literally four He minutes away from where this campground is. So someone is going to be there and my partner trips gonna be there teaching but so I think we've invited him and his wife to come by the headquarters and see where we actually make the sun ovens either early I don't know when I'm not even involved in that. So he's gonna be there. Another friend of mine is Hakeem. And this dude is a he's like a ninja guy. Literally. Yes. And he wasn't the only was it Naked and Afraid. Ah, naked,

T:

afraid neck and afraid exhale. Now he's on the show that just come out of what was it a race for Alaska? Yes,

Forrest Garvin:

that's right. Yep.

T:

He's on that right now.

Forrest Garvin:

Yep. So it came he's great. I'm sure he's probably gonna do some kind of stick defense or something.

T:

We've got him doing for that for the actual weapons part of it. He's going to do the the tomahawk

Forrest Garvin:

Tomahawk suite is nothing better than throwing an axe that's just

T:

and I'll let you know Tomahawk that's my go to. That's my goatee right there.

Forrest Garvin:

And then some good new friends of mine. And in I don't know what they're teaching they're just going to have a booth booth there but these guys are awesome. There's Dunkin guns and knives from from up where my my son oven is right there in Wilkes County and Wilkesboro They're great guys. I went in there the other day and spent like an hour and a half talking to them about knives and stuff. But they're gonna have a booth there. Right?

T:

Um, they actually have an event going on, but they are. I don't know. They're trying to get Yeah, they did sponsor sponsor. I tell you Kevin's game, Kevin Kane, the owner of a Duncan's gun and blade and Ridge runner blades. Awesome guy entrepreneur has been been rolling there for quite a few years now. They if they don't have it, you probably ain't supposed to have it. I mean, it is

Forrest Garvin:

a week and a half ago about Tannerite because we were going to go blow my partner said hey, come up. Let's have a company meeting. Let's blow some stuff up. I'm like, Okay, that sounds like a party to me. Yeah. Two hours because I'm in Charlotte. And yeah, you know,

T:

on Dad wall was great. You know, North Carolina is has tons of bladesmith. And it was really neat that you know, Kevin got with Daniel Winkler, who was who was a local just, you know, not too far outside. Right outside of Boone. You know, Daniel Winkler Man, that guy has been in the business for forever and a day and, and

Forrest Garvin:

seeds. Amazing. Oh, yeah. Not to mention

T:

his blades have been in you know, all kinds of movies. You know. What was it the one that was filmed in Chimney Rock State Park last Mohicans. You did the designs of those blades. But Kevin actually got us. Three knives and two of those are autographed by Daniel Winkler. And we we are going to be given those away at Mountain readiness as well. If you buy a ticket, you're automatically entered for one, one entry to win those knives we're going to actually get to, we've got a whole bunch of stuff we're going to be doing with giveaways like that for the event. We're going to draw everything I think on Sunday at noon. So that's

Forrest Garvin:

the Winkler knives as well. If I remember, right, a lot of tier one operators carry them. I mean, they're just Oh, yeah.

T:

Yeah, the tomahawks and the blades. Yeah, over and up, you know, in the Middle East Afghanistan, or Iraq, Kuwait. A lot of the operators that was there go to we're doing we're doing the same thing with Kyle Geoghegan of Geoghegan arms, which he's going to be there at the event as well. Kyle and I are good friends. And of course Kyle, Army Ranger, decorated multiple deployments. Runs Geoghegan arms. He also runs resilience Forge, which is a nonprofit for helping veterans you know, awesome guy. He's going to also we've got some blades of his that we're going to be given away. I mean, we just we just given everything away for

Forrest Garvin:

him mentioned okay. Oh, possibly not confirmed yet. But I gotta give a shout out to one of my good friends, which is Mike Shelby, he runs Ford observer. You still working out the details there. But Mike isn't everybody. I mean, everyone in President knows Mike because he's been on my podcast, and I've had him live so many times. He's actually an expert panel. So let me go through that. So my expert panel members, these are people that help me with prepper. Net is Dr. Bones and nurse Amy. Mike Shelby, who else we got a trip from Sun ovens going to be there. I thought there was another one mo nope, that's it. So So there's these are people that earn kind of on my expert panel that helped prepper net. Yeah. Mike Shelby teaches he's a he was a intelligence NCO and, and he's very smart kid, as a kid, because he's young. And he's, I don't know, he just seemed like a kid. First time I met him, we didn't get along. But since man we we've been, we talk almost, I won't say weekly, bi weekly, but he's getting ready to release a book, I released a book and we've been talking but love for observer and everything that they do, but hopefully, he'll be there. And you guys can work out the details from other people. Let's go just through some names here. These are now I'm going to I'm gonna go through a list of prepper net members. Now, and I'm just doing that because I'm prepping it you know what I mean? In the prepping Academy's part of prepper. Net. Say, one,

T:

I said it's one of those close to home things, you know.

Forrest Garvin:

So these are people in my organization that's going to be teaching. And these are outstanding people. I'm telling you, they're part of the 40 experts, so I'm going to just name them and then we'll someone will talk about someone we won't. Larry and Rhonda. Right. Ramin, which is the kilted prepper he was a city leader for me, Dr. Bones and nurse Amy, I told you there on my expert panel, Susan shires, Mother Goose, which is our yak and Valley City Leader. Pork Chop. He was on offer Ice Road Truckers. He was the seeded leader for me in Columbia, South Carolina. David grassy. He's teach and got all kinds of videos he's done for. He didn't like a lot of I think wild edibles. And then Jonathan there Colloidal Silver guy I forgot his last name, Jonathan glass or something. Placer. Yes, yeah. And then trip from Sun Oven. And Mike Shelby. I mean, all them guys are a part of prep for that, which is exciting. They come out but let me let me talk about Raman the kilted prepper he's actually going to be by the time you guys hear this, you won't be able to, but Raymond tonight the kill. The kilted preppers is going to be on my Monday Night Live show I got I told you guys about. He's co hosting with me later tonight. And we're recording this. And so you can watch and go to prepper net.com. And watch and watch it because it's not. That's not put in a podcast format, but he's my co host. So but I'm Dr. Bones and nurse Amy. I love them. We've already talked about we're getting together. We're going out to eat, I think on Friday night and then Saturday night that are coming by the prepper. Net tent, and we're going to do a big cookout and they're going to be a part of that. Mother Goose like I said she is my she's a city leader. yakking Valley City Leader which is not too far from there. I don't think isn't that well? No,

T:

it's not and and on that Mother Goose it appears is going to be our neighbor. We live out here off the parkway and she actually has bought some property back behind us. Wow. So yeah, she's literally gonna be hop skip jump on the backside of the of the hill. Us.

Forrest Garvin:

She is one of the most prepared people and knowledgeable people I've ever met. I'll just say that. Awesome. So then there's pork chop Ice Road Truckers. You can catch him on that but he's a good guy is probably going to do something cooking because he's a cook.

T:

Oh, he is and I have not had the chance to eat anything of his been. I hear he's phenomenal. Everybody says the same thing.

Forrest Garvin:

And David Grassi he was on the show Dillard deliverance, or no, I'm kidding. He's a great guy. He's a he's a friend. He's he he he's a good friend and we we get along for man. He is from the hollers or Appalachian last week.

T:

We went out to do we did a video for YouTube there with David. I'm gonna tell you right now there's two things one, you need a four wheel drive to get to David's house to move quickly around that German shepherd he has that dog means business. I kid you not that thing is a it's a freaking beast. Yeah.

Forrest Garvin:

If I remember I think he's a former Air Force. I think he retired from the Air Force. Yes. Yeah.

T:

retired from the Air Force. And yeah, and he'll be doing he's gonna be doing wild edibles and some land nav classes. We actually did a little wild edibles with him right there at at his home. Really, really cool guy, great guy. And man, he knows his stuff.

Forrest Garvin:

Oh, yeah, he does. And then Jonathan Colloidal Silver. Everyone knows what Colloidal Silver is. He is the expert of that. He's amazing. Trip my partner from Sun ovens can be teaching some kind of Southern cooking with solar. He's going to show you how to make a solar oven. How to use the Sun Oven. I think we'll have some food out there for people to sample I think. I don't know. I haven't confirmed I told you we'd give one away. Bye bye. Last trip, but I think we're, I think you will do with that. And then and then I'm going to be teaching just a basic class on survival groups. And remember survival groups is your most important prep. Well, I'd rather be the dumbest person in a group of like Navy SEALs,

T:

yet well, yeah, you and me both. People expect a lot less out of you that way too.

Forrest Garvin:

So being in a group is like, I think, and I preach is the most important prep is been in group because you can't do it alone.

T:

Now, you know, and it's funny, you should say that, you know, that's, that's kind of the concept behind mountain readiness of amber and AI is, is, you know, the whole the whole lone wolf concept. I mean, it's, it's, it's appealing, right? You know, you know, one man and and fighting off against the force to evil single handedly fighting the hordes. It makes a great movie. And that's about it. Right? Folks, you can't do it on your own. You can't be the security you can't be the food bank, the blacksmith the leather maker carpenter by yourself. It's not happening. This is about networking. It's about building your tribe. It's about community and that's where we're going with mountain readiness is is is it's building community.

Forrest Garvin:

Yes, and I promise you guys you guys come I promise you that Dr. bones in our Samy they're going to be eating with us a lot of the all the pertinent people will be hanging out with us that evening. I think it's Saturday night. There will be a I think there's gonna be a hike going on that night as well. And a lot of my people going hey, we'd rather go on a hike I'm like fine, I think is Chris weathermen Lee leading that

T:

you know, we were working out the details steel, but we may just make it a star studded event and it may be Alan Chris porkchop. And a bunch of people just throw in their packs, test testing gear and go on for a hike, you know, work up work up an appetite. That sounds

Forrest Garvin:

cool. So we're all gonna be hanging out there. I mean, when you go to an event like this, I mean you can walk up to any of these people anytime except when they're teaching a class ask them questions that's what they're there for. I mean, the training Dr. Bones and our Samy are is just amazing. Alan Kay, he tells his story about living in a box and it's amazing then you he'll bring his bug out bag and when you see his bug out bag, you're gonna go okay, I have no skills. Right his bug out bag weighs about eight pounds and

T:

Chris Wilder was the same way with the bug out bags. I liked watching you know he was on with of course course Brad was real good good friends with Carl with tactical rifleman

Forrest Garvin:

Oh yes. Yes.

T:

They did a big bug out bag thing and they do a lot of that stuff with the bug out bags and and speaking of tactical rifle and we're also we've got one of his instructors Good grief mind went blank right here. Whereas Emery Morgenstern, which is the Israeli combat instructor for tactical rifleman. So, that's another big name. If you if you watch you tube, if you like tactical riflemen, I mean that guy is a mountain of a man and has a has a resume about 15 pages long.

Forrest Garvin:

Yep, it's Star it's, you have a bunch of stars you do and then people like David, no one knows David, but not many people have the knowledge this guy has as well. I mean, some of these guys are crazy. Yeah,

T:

so bother. You know, we've got one of our neighbors just right around the corner here. Chuck Lewis with Sheridan Park Farms is big into regenerative farming. He's actually going to be doing raising poultry and then actual hands on poultry processing. The guy is just phenomenal. I mean, he's got his own cult following as well. And, and when it comes to the farm and, and and just raising livestock and butchering he, he's the man Chuck was actually one of the first educators to to sign up with us, great guy. He's gonna be there Friday for the class, the intro to poultry, raising poultry and then of course, Sunday is going to win when he's going to actually do the live hands on butchering but we've got Shawn Tom Mullins and her husband with farm and forge Sean tall is just she's a young girl but what a powerhouse when it comes to the organic gardening. The heirloom seed non GMO. This girl is growing a garden And she's been going for years, she don't water it. I said, What do you mean, you don't water your garden, she says, if you do it correctly, you don't have to water and I said, You need to come out and show us. So she actually come out to our place, we put a garden in, she said, if it's done like this, I mean, time is money. And if I can not water my garden and still pull out all that produce, I mean, it's a win win as far as I'm concerned. Right? Yep. Yep. So tons of names, you know, we've got a lot of the locals, as well as the big names across the board. And, you know, our focus is to is to bring all these educators together. And for the people to keep keep building out that toolbox of self reliance and that skill set that you're going to need for, I truly believe days coming in on the horizon, you know, this is, you know, it's a life or death thing, when it all comes down to it, I believe,

Forrest Garvin:

yeah. And it comes down to knowledge. I mean, I mean, your tools can break, you can lose your tools. And this, this is how you get the knowledge they teach you, then you go home, and you put it in practice, and you learn it, and that's how it becomes helpful and knowledgeable. And that's, I mean, it's a bunch, well, we're

T:

here, we're pushing to, we're pushing to have, you know, come to the expo, learn all you can buy the books, do what you know, go to all these different classes, you know, at the end of it, when you when you go home, and your brain is just completely full of all this, the what you've been seeing, and you settle back into life, we want to give everyone something after the fact you know, all these educators that we have here, have classes that they do throughout the year, more in depth, you know, more hands on, you know, so don't just stop here with the expo, we want everyone to continue that growth and that journey and self self sufficiency and self reliance. And, and reach out to these people reach out to these educators, they're all about it, this is what they do. Bringing you to their, their farms to their areas, you know, teaching you the gardening, teaching you the processing, you know, whatever it may be, you know, we want we want everybody to have something year round, you know, keep keep working on that journey.

Forrest Garvin:

Yes. And so I will give everybody that I know you guys are probably and this is my mistake, but everybody's like, what, okay, what's the what's the what's the address? Where do we go? It's mountain readiness.com. And that spelled mountain? And readiness.com. I mean,

T:

pretty basic, right? Yeah, pretty basic. Just just for some of those who struggle, which I am one of those. It's mountain then it's r, r e a d i in ess.com, readiness, mountain readiness. It's kind of like tea, you can't mess it up. It's pretty basic.

Forrest Garvin:

In the sweet tea or unsweet. D.

T:

I'm horrible on sweet tea. But I hate to say that especially in this area, you know, you get

Forrest Garvin:

so and then again, this is May 5 through seventh, which is a month away. And we're going to push this out in our podcast and hey, just you don't even just go to mountain readiness. And like you said as it is our e a d i n e. S s.com. And if you go to prepper. Net, we have it posted all over if you go on our Facebook page, Amber has been posting across the nation about this thing, and that's why it's gonna be so incredible.

T:

But yeah, we also advertisement come out today in grit magazine, which no affiliation of Mother Earth News, you get on there on grit forest, you're in that you might you're a star, you know, you're even a bigger star. Check it out. Okay, Lauren, you are so good on grip magazine, that advertisement for mountain readiness is on there. We put it together. It's kind of a post apocalyptic twist on it. I mean, we like it, we like it. I think it was pretty cool. And it was just kind of a tribute to as many of the educators that are going to be here that we could possibly fit into three minutes. So so check that out as well. We're going to be pushing that out. And, and if you can share it to for us, check it out, push it down. And then hopefully, if it gets enough likes and shares, grit magazine, it will then go to Mother Earth News and they are going to put it on their platform

Forrest Garvin:

and they have a couple of 1000 or 100,000 members or so. Millions were million Okay. Gosh, I knew they were big. Yeah,

T:

yeah, they're huge. I mean, you know, so so you know if if check it out on grit, get it same thing with with prepper net, you know, here like it share it you know, the more times it gets shared and liked, the better it is, the more movement it gets, we can push it to the Mother Earth News platform, get it out there. So more and more people can see this. And at the end of the day, you know, maybe we can just just pack this place out.

Forrest Garvin:

So and let me tell everyone, if you've never been to a show like this, it is, it is crazy, awesome. You get to meet meet people from all over the United States. And then you actually can become their friends. I mean, you meet new friends, I've got friends, all across America, because I've been going to some of these conferences, and you meet people, and then you also meet the teachers, and all of a sudden, you become a part of the community. And all of a sudden, believe it or not, one day, you may be asked to teach, or you may be invited to come teach some of your skills because, you know, you know, that's just kind of the way it works, I went to the first prepper. Net, just as a as a student, I mean, to the prepper camp, and as a student, and all of a sudden, I've taught there every year, and created my organization, you know, prepper net, and it's, and now literally, I know about 80% of all these people that I could literally email them and they email me back. And that can happen either. I'm not that I'm nothing special. I'm just saying, Come and meet these people. These are experts in their field. And you'll meet people, you know, throughout the United States. And people always say this, why do I want to meet people in other states? Well, you might have grandmothers, brothers, uncles and other states that might need some knowledge or some encouragement. A lot of these times these people can come in handy for you. Oh, for

T:

sure. For sure. For us. No, you, you nailed it. I mean, and that's what this is about. It's about networking. You know, that's, that's what it is. It's about going out, meeting people of like mine, and sharing knowledge and, and learning. You know, just being around these like minded people, man, you, there's so much that all these these different people have to offer, you're gonna take a lot away from this no matter what walk of life that you, you, you or your work. And you know, and the same thing to like you said, we're all we're all just people. We're all on the same journey. Yes, yes, we're at different stages on the road. So this is this is where you go if you want to keep further and and look what is, you know, what is the goal of stuff like this, it's not just go and, you know, do a couple cool things go home. It's, um, it's, this is self sufficiency is freedom, right? Absolutely. Freedom people. People really don't understand they're, they're enslaved to what what this world has as done and I'm not dogging the, the, you know, electricity and running water and all these modern conveniences, but at the same time, you know, our ancestors, the things that they did, the knowledge they possess, we no longer have that the world has dumbed us down and made us slaves to a society. Yeah. And, and this is how you awaken yourself. Yeah, this is what you use to free your mind free your body and become self sufficient, you know, ungovernable. And that's exactly

Forrest Garvin:

the reason I wrote my last book. It's called entrepreneurialship. for survival. It's like, get out of the rat race, and I help you, maybe start a home based business, start doing some things that you can control your paycheck, and you can control your future, instead of your employer or the government, whoever controlling it, you control it. That's truly being self sufficient. When you can control your your funds your food, and your family and your freedom.

T:

And that is that is a you know, becoming ungovernable, that is true freedom. And, you know, we have been enslaved for so long. Our minds have been enslaved for so long. We don't even realize what where we're at in life right down to start with something simple. It's a little bitty tin pit at a bit at a time. You know, start your gardening start your you know, going into business for yourself, get you know, being your own boss, whatever it may be, it's it's it steps take small steps. And and before long, you know, you'll you'll bring yourself to that, that enlightened place that people don't even realize is out there.

Forrest Garvin:

That is awesome. That is good stuff. So everyone, make sure you go to mountain readiness.com sign up, get all the details. You can look at my ugly mug shot on there. You can see all the speakers I think they have like a tentative schedule printed out already. I'm sure it's gonna change because things are changing. I mean, and but hey, go again, mountain readiness. It's May 5 through the seventh and you will need to make reservations to the there's two things you got to do. You got to buy a ticket to the US And then you got to find a place to stay if you don't stay at Vannoy farms and harmony you can find a hotel, but they do have camping and they I guess they got camping. They got tent camping they've got, yes. Everything you can think of and including hookups for an RV.

T:

Yes. So mountain readiness.com. We're on Facebook, Instagram, we just started a podcast where if you want to hear me run my mouth a little bit more than what we already do. The Van Hoy camp grounds is right, they're off by 77 on our website, mountain readiness.com. It gives the campground phone number, you have primitive camping and full hookup camping, if you want to stay at the facility, if you do not and you want some of those more modern conveniences, if you know you're that type, and you just don't want to rough it and be tough like all of us, because we will be staying there course right for us. Yeah, right around the corner. 20 minutes down the road is all kinds of available hotels right there in Statesville, literally 20 minutes down the road, you're right around the corner, it's a straight shot, you don't have to jet off too far, you get you in a hotel, and then be right back at the campground, you know, in 20 minutes the next day, so, so Van Hoy camp grounds, mountain riding stock calm and all the informations on there to purchase your tickets in advance. For the camping and all the educators are on there, we have a PDF, I believe that's on the website now to attend to DivX it is evolving. We're going to be adding some people you know, we're just going to keep bringing as much, much as we can to this. But right there Mount readiness.com
