Advent: Love | Week Four | Psalm 136 | December 21st, 2025

This week we are invited to release the pressure of trying to manufacture hope, peace, joy, or love, and instead recognize that these realities exist outside of us because they are eternally rooted in Jesus, who is love itself. Through Psalm 136, we see that God’s steadfast love (“hesed”) meets us before we exist in creation, remains with us in the ruins of suffering and loss, and sustains us in the quiet ordinariness of daily life. Ultimately, Advent reveals a love so committed that God walks the covenant path alone—fulfilled in Christ’s birth and cross—proving that His steadfast love endures forever, not because we hold it together, but because He does.
