This week's sermon continued our series on The House God is Building, focusing on the radical call of Romans 12:1-2 to offer our bodies as living sacrifices. Paul reminds us that God is not building His house out of inspiration, good intentions, or spiritual emotions—but out of actual, embodied lives. In response to God's mercy, we are invited to offer our entire selves: our habits, our time, our routines, our struggles, our comforts—everything that makes us who we are. This isn't a call to religious performance but a response of gratitude to the God who gave His body for us. The phrase "living sacrifice" is intentionally paradoxical—because unlike dead sacrifices, living ones can crawl off the altar. Yet God calls us to stay surrendered, not through white-knuckled willpower, but through the renewing work of the Holy Spirit who transforms us from the inside out. Christianity is stubbornly physical: God saved the world with a body, and He's building His house with ours.
