The House God is Building | Week Five | Matthew 5:13-16 | February 8th, 2026

The sermon closed out our series, The House God is Building. Joey reminded us that the Church’s foundation is Christ, not any one person’s strength, and that God’s work among us hasn’t been put on hold—even in a season of heartache or confusion. Despite our circumstances, we are called to be "salt and light" right now—not by having all the right answers, but by being a preserving presence for a world that is hurting and in need of hope. Just like the exiles in Jeremiah 29, we aren't supposed to withdraw and wait for life to feel stable again. Instead, we are invited to lean into the "mud" of our city, planting gardens of hope and seeking peace in the middle of our own uncertainty.
