In the Appalachian hills of Western North Carolina, beneath a wine shop and across from one of many breweries, Making Whole is redefining addiction recovery through a classical woodworking apprenticeship program. Founder Jeremy French and other master craftsmen are teaching men to build world-class furniture and, in the process, build lives worth living.
Making Whole is an addiction recovery program designed within the framework of a traditional woodworking apprenticeship. Led by master craftsman, Jeremy French, the program is built on a simple premise: The mentor–student relationship has the ability to break through the ego barriers of addiction. Once trust is established, the student can begin building studio-quality objects, while at the same time, rebuilding himself.
