Is Truth Absolute

SPEAKER_00Is truth absolute? If truth is absolute, this means if something is true, then the moment it becomes true, it's true for all times.
SPEAKER_03Studies show that you may be lied to anywhere from 10 to 200 times.
SPEAKER_06If at some point you got lied to, it's because you agreed to get lied to.
SPEAKER_00Somebody that says there's no such thing as absolute truth is making a statement they believe is absolutely true.
How Culture Shifted To My Truth
SPEAKER_01We started with what we call the modern era, roughly the 1940s and 50s. This was a time defined by rational reasoning, merit, and a belief in universal objective truth. Think of the post-World War II industrial boom. There was a clear sense of progress tied to tangible, verifiable achievement.
SPEAKER_04But that modern era didn't stay dominant for long. By the late 1950s, we see the first tremors of change. Data suggests that in 1959, only about 3% of the population identified with what we call postmodern ideology, the relativistic, individualistic outlook. Yet by 1979, that number had jumped to 20%. That's a massive cultural pivot in just 10 decades. What was driving that shift so aggressively?
SPEAKER_01The 1960s were the catalyst. It was an era of profound cultural transition fueled by the civil rights movement, a base-age science like NASA, and a radical turn toward the individual. In 1962, the human potential movement really took flight, sparked in part by Abraham Maslow and his hierarchy of needs. Maslow introduced the idea of self-actualization, the pursuit of personal fulfillment and inner truth. While this was evolutionarily positive in terms of civil rights and environmental awareness, it also started to detach the concept of truth from societal consensus and move it toward the individual's experience.
SPEAKER_04So we move from the truth to my truth. That seems like a healthy evolution in terms of human rights and inclusivity, but doesn't it create a vacuum for logic if everyone has their own truth? How do we maintain a shared reality?
SPEAKER_05That's where we're going to uh interrupt the uh podcast uh pre-record the recorded already. Everybody say my truth versus the truth. Versus the truth. So with that, I want to uh introduce our uh podcast uh for today.
Naming The Truth Crisis In Church
SPEAKER_05Uh this is an opportunity for us to uh expand on this conversation concerning the truth crisis, and we're using first John chapter 4, verse 6 uh as our foundation text. And we can say with a measure of certainty that the present world that we are living in right now is definitely facing a credible truth crisis. Do I have anybody in our audience that agrees with me? Yes. So the ability to discern reality from fiction uh has become a greater issue. And what we heard uh in the first uh uh uh episode of this uh podcast is that there has been a gradual intentional shift from our foundation of what we would call uh uh fundamental absolute truth to now we are seeing an environment that has been reshaped to suggest, well, I don't have to have absolute truth. I just want to go with the warm and fuzzy truth. You know, that terminology, truthiness, what makes me feel this feels like truth to me. And so I'm going to uh I want to introduce our co-host here, uh, who will later introduce the rest of our panelists. But I have to my right bishop uh Ray Taylor. Uh he is uh a proud uh bishop and pastor coming from the Delaware uh area. We are glad to have him now associated with our uh truth conference and our powwow ministry overall. Would you give God some praise for him? And then also I'm joined by a local familiar face uh to our community here in Colorado and to Denver, Aurora in particular, uh Apostle Carla Colburn, uh, who has blazed the trail for ministry for many years. Will you give God some praise for her? And we're actually gonna ask her to uh open us up with her scripture uh uh uh response and just her reflection on our truth crisis topic.
Knowing The Real To Spot Fakes
SPEAKER_02Yeah, thank you, Apostle Dell. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Looking forward to this. I've been looking forward to this since you invited me. Um but the truth crisis, it is a very real thing. And when I listen to the podcast, oh my truth really has changed over the years. It has changed. Um, and then it gave me this um this scripture to go from. But I think if we were to talk about truth right now, we would probably go to all the misinformation that's out there, all of the um social media posts that only show you one side, they don't show you everything, yeah. Artificial intelligence, um, all the voices that are speaking. And while we have all that going on, uh we looked at 1 John chapter 4, uh, verse number 6, and it says, We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us. Whoever is not from God does not listen to us. And by this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. So, what's interesting about the scripture is that John is not talking about all those things that we talk about in the world, he's actually talking to us inside the church. He's like, Do you, church, know the difference between the spirit of truth and the spirit of error, not just between lies and truth, but do you know the spirit behind it? Do you understand that? And so um, this isn't just some debate that we're having between truth and lies. This is actually seeing the motivation as to why someone is saying or doing a thing, right? And then John says, whoever God knows, that's the one. We can actually stop there. That's the one who hears it. But he says, whoever God knows, that means that we need a relationship. Come on. That's right.
SPEAKER_03That's right.
SPEAKER_02Right? And it took me to something. How many women in the room? Y'all like jewelry in the room. Look on your, I bet y'all like some jewelry on your fingers. Right, and you've been at the jewelry store, let's say that's just the back door. Both hands. And so uh you go into them, they got that little thing that they look at the jewel, and they know those jewelers, they're masters at it, right? And they're looking at diamonds and other special uh precious jewels, and they're looking at the authentic thing because they know the authentic diamond. And because they know the authentic diamond so well, a fake one can't come up to them. A piece of glass can't be presented. They'll know it because they're very familiar with the real thing. And what I think happened in the church a little bit is we've been looking at the deception so much. We've been looking at the lie, we've been paying attention. I think that is the greatest, the greatest tactic of the end of it, to make us look at the lie instead of looking at the truth. And God says, if you know me, then you'll follow the spirit of truth. Yes, I am the truth. And then when you know you know me well enough, like you know someone well enough, you know their voice, you know their character. Can't nobody just walk up to you to somebody that you know and just tell you anything about them, right? Because you're familiar with them. That's what the script that's what John's trying to tell us. Y'all looking at so much deception.
SPEAKER_03Deception is in the world, it's unleashed in the world.
SPEAKER_02In fact, we're to a point where we're delusional.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Wow.
SPEAKER_02But for us inside of the kingdom, we ought to be knowing the authentic truth.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_02The truth, the one and only, the absolute truth. That's why I love your podcast. Because it's absolute truth.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_02There is no relative truth, there's no my truth and your truth. Now you can say that, but the bottom line is there's only one truth, and that is God. And it's absolute truth. So I think, uh, Apostle Dale, this is just inviting us into a relationship with him. Let's get more familiar with him. Let's get more familiar with who he is. And if we do that, then when those errors come to us, we'll be able to be red flags.
SPEAKER_03That is a child like God. That's not his spirit.
SPEAKER_02That's not who he is. Let me tell you something else that's going on is that we're living in the age of information. So we have a whole lot of information coming to us. And sometimes people think that information is what makes us wise. It is not. Information is just information, right? AI is just information. Come on. But wisdom is an anointing for God. If you read your Bible, doesn't it say Isaiah 11 says that wisdom is one of his facets of his anointing. So you can have a whole lot of information and no wisdom. That's right. And without that bishop, you can actually move in the spirit of it. Can move in the spirit of it. Yeah. That's why we need information and the truth. We need the wisdom of God. We need the facets of his anointing that we've found in our day and when we have that, then we can move in truth. Then when we get into pulpits and we go to conferences and things, we're not just giving our opinion, we're giving them the truth.
SPEAKER_05Come on, truth.
SPEAKER_02We give them the truth, right? Not just our opinion about a thing. We don't have to even debate a thing. The real truth is we don't have to debate anything. If we know God and we know him and we represent him, then when we go out there, we give the truth. If they want to debate with you, it's fine. It's on them too, whether they receive it or not, right? But we've given our responsibility. We've done our responsibility, we've given the truth. Absolute truth. Yeah, no other truth. It's not my truth and your truth. There's only one absolute truth. So that's where I think we find, and I think that's what he's telling us in that scripture.
SPEAKER_05Wow. Wow. That's powerful. Come on, truth of them. Before you introduce our guest panelists, uh, we just need to hear the expression from the bishop's mouth concerning this thing.
Podcast Pastors And Spiritual Confusion
SPEAKER_05And then you're gonna go ahead and introduce uh our first uh group of panelists uh to dig into this a little deeper. Well, for Aposcodel Young Um I say that uh one of the things that I've been sharing with our church is I believe that one of the uh challenges that we're facing is uh because everyone, as you said, has so much access uh to social media. Um I've always think we're fighting the podcast pastors. Oh, come on now, the people who are sitting on uh uh uh an expensive short microphone and giving information that tickles the fancy of people's a lifestyle of justifying why they do certain different things. Oh no, that's and the way they're lacing it, they're lacing it in a way that if a person is not built upon the fundamental truth of scripture, yes, it will sound like truth. So now the enemy has now used these podcast pastors to now elevate knowledge to a point that it almost sounds like scripture because now people are running to social media to now be their spiritual therapists, right? Right, right, right, right. So we have to fight these things upon half, and it makes our jobs harder. Uh and also to truth of now why people say, I don't have to go to church. And now they're joining e-church. Yes, yes, yes, when we're forsaking the assembly of coming together. I I got I I got a message because we're we're on the podcast right now. So, but what you're saying, that's 100% true. So, why are we taking up this space right now on the podcast? I believe we're taking up the space because God has given us this platform to be able to echo and amplify the voice of heaven, come on, come on, and to be able to put the information back by wisdom. Come on. Because wisdom is speaking, yeah, so that people can begin to decipher. What does the scripture say? The scripture always says, try the spirit. So now we're producing the information with the wisdom of God that the people are now able to try for themselves. Thank you, thank you, and through discernment. We need the people to have discernment and decipher and code. Come on. This is truth, yes, this is knowledge, but not based upon scripture. Run it. You want to go ahead and introduce it.
SPEAKER_02I just want to thank you for that. I want to say it because we don't want to make it sound like we illanize online or creative facts. That's right. We ain't even nothing for the enemy to take over. There you go. We're gonna be in every space. As we kingdom, we're gonna bring them to every space. There is that means that we're gonna leave them out there to give all that truth, all that uh fake stuff. That's why we're gonna bring the truth to the black.
SPEAKER_05That's why we're here.
SPEAKER_02They make it the battle to make it.
SPEAKER_05All right, right. I agree because again, these these these podcast pastors, I'm not saying it's bad people, but they're putting out bad information that comes against what we're teaching. Correct. And the truth of the matter is they have a million followers. Correct, correct, correct. The truth of the matter is they're being endorsed by Pepsi and being endorsed by being endorsed by by fanDuel and all these different people. Who's giving them the money to be able to push out this propaganda that diametrically opposes what we're supposed to be teaching as fundamental truth of scripture? Thank you, Bishop.
