What's going on, guys! For today's episode, I got none other than an up-and-coming boxer, Brandun Lee from La Quinta, California joining me for a spotlight episode.
Brandun is a 21-year-old professional boxer who’s been receiving a lot of attention recently, especially within the Asian American community. What makes him special is the fact that not only is he having an impressive start to his pro boxing career, with an undefeated record of 20-0 and 18 knockouts, but he’s doing it with a lot of swagger and confidence. On top of that, he’s a good kid. He has the potential to not only become a world champion by the end of next year but a huge role model as well.
During this conversation, Brandun and I talked about how he got into boxing, his experience being half-Korean and half-Mexican and how it plays into his boxing career, what it means to represent Asian Americans in the world of boxing, what keeps him motivated, how he’s going to potentially deal with the lifestyle that comes with becoming a champion and where he envisions he’ll be in the next 5 years.
