Narratives of North Broad Podcast - Stories From Temple Health
Welcome to the Narratives of North Broad Podcast! We believe in stories. We believe stories heal, inspire, build community, and can change the world. This podcast will celebrate the stories of those at Temple Health. We will ask our guests about their paths to medicine, what they are most passionate about in medicine today, the challenges and rewards of working at Temple, how they find balance in their lives, and what advice they have for students and trainees. There are so many people throughout our community who help make this an incredible place in North Philadelphia. Hosts are Hank Davis, a medical student at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University in Philadelphia, and Michael Vitez, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist who is now the Director of the Narrative Medicine program at LKSOM. Episode 7
Our guest today is Dr. Daniel Eun, the renowned robotic surgeon at LKSOM whose patients come from all over the country and the world.
Dr. Eun will share with us his early life story, how his father was a missionary, and how he came to America and Philadelphia. He will tell the remarkable story of how he made lemons into lemonade — he didn’t match on match day, but determination, hard work and serendipity landed in him in the perfect place to pioneer robotic surgery in urology.
Dr. Eun is thoughtful, open and incredibly easy to talk with.. We really enjoyed our conversation.
