Welcome to the Narratives of North Broad Podcast! We believe in stories. We believe stories heal, inspire, build community, and can change the world. This podcast will celebrate the stories of those at Temple Health. We will ask our guests about their paths to medicine, what they are most passionate about in medicine today, the challenges and rewards of working at Temple, how they find balance in their lives, and what advice they have for students and trainees. There are so many people throughout our community who help make this an incredible place in North Philadelphia. Hosts are Hank Davis, a medical student at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University in Philadelphia, and Michael Vitez, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist who is now the Director of the Narrative Medicine program at LKSOM. Episode 12
Today we are speaking with Dr. Noah Levinson, a neurologist at Temple University Hospital.
Dr. Levinson is a born teacher, and shares with us today his path to medicine, his interest in the brain, his decision to pursue neurology, and what he loves about teaching students and residents.
He recently was the attending on my neurology rotation, and we'll talk about some of the firsts I experienced alongside him. Having a patient die, delivering bad news, and getting close with a patient. That and more, from his bird-watching to beer-brewing.
