Reading Through The Bible Together
Reading Through the Bible Together is a daily podcast (Monday-Friday) for weak and weary sinners who want to hear God clearly. Our plan will take you through the entire Bible in one year.
Each episode follows a simple rhythm: read the day’s passage, then recap it to see what God says, what He demands, and what He promises in Jesus Christ. No hype, no fluff, just Scripture, clarity, and comfort, ending every day with the Gospel proclamation that your sins are forgiven through faith in Christ. If you feel behind, distracted, or unsure where to start, you’re welcome here.
Reading Through The Bible Together
Day Nine: Genesis 35-40
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Genesis 35–40 is a stretch of Scripture where the promise keeps moving forward, but the road is marked by grief, sin, and surprising grace. You’ll see Jacob called back to worship, idols buried, and God’s protection on the journey. Then the story turns heavy: deaths in the family, the deepening fracture among Jacob’s sons, and the beginning of Joseph’s long descent into suffering, betrayal, and injustice.
And underneath all of it is one big theme: God is at work even when life looks like loss. The covenant line does not advance through clean stories and perfect people. It advances through God’s faithfulness in the middle of real pain, real failure, and real consequences.
In this episode of Reading Through the Bible Together, Blake walks through Jacob’s return to Bethel, the shifting generations, and Joseph’s early story: favored, hated, sold, falsely accused, forgotten. Yet even in the pit, even in the prison, one line keeps repeating in Joseph’s life: the LORD was with him.
Open your Bible to Genesis 35–40, and let’s hear God clearly, see what He demands, and trust what He promises in Jesus.
