Speaker 1:

Welcome everybody. Thanks so much for tuning into this episode. Really excited to share a special announcement with you all today about our journey here at Deergo Collective. Joining me today is David Gogal, the president of Campfire, which is the consulting practice of Deergo Collective, which is exactly what we're going to be talking about today. David, can you share with us a little bit about this rollout and its significance for us as a team and our partners?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, absolutely, and thanks, ben, we're really thrilled. This is something that we've been working on for a while now, and it's really been an evolution of this idea that we started talking about in the early days of the pandemic, when we were trying to figure out how we could play a larger role in supporting our clients that were trying to have an impact. Some folks might know that Deergo Collective was started as a media strategy agency and we were helping our clients really understand their audience and how to move that audience towards impact. Through that work, we realized that, no matter how much work we did on the media side, there was this value action gap where we could make somebody more aware of something that they were value aligned with, but sometimes that awareness wasn't enough, so to speak. So we started thinking a lot around how to move somebody along that journey and realized that we really needed to, in some cases, change behaviors and that behavior change is really done through storytelling, especially around some of these really big concepts like impact. Impact is complicated and it means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, and so we started to think about what would it look like to have an end-to-end strategic consulting firm that was all around communicating and translating impact into strategic communications and value-based messaging.

Speaker 2:

So we've evolved from those early days of media strategy buying and planning to having a fully integrated in-house content studio, business consulting practice and an impact consulting practice handling everything from B Corp certification and re-certification, other impact services, all the way through that storytelling and communication strategy. So for us we're really excited. It's an evolution of work that we've been doing for a few years now and Campfire represents this kind of full shift into that work. So why the name Campfire? Kind of unironically, we were sitting around a Campfire at one of our company retreats, as you know, because you were there and we were talking about storytelling and how stories told around a Campfire have been how we communicate ideas for millennia and how it's kind of fundamental to human nature. And as a communications and media agency, we think a lot about these human insights and how they move people and I think we were dreaming big about where we wanted to go with our work and somebody on the team said, jesus, like wouldn't Campfire be a great name for what we're building? And we decided it was.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I remember that and you know good times around a Campfire for our listeners that are current partners of ours and maybe are new to hearing us talk about ourselves as Campfire and our services that we currently provide to them transitioning to this campfire brand. Should they be contacting their legal teams about this change or any concerns they have to worry about?

Speaker 2:

For our current partners. Nothing changes. Drgo is doing business as campfire, so it shouldn't change anything from a legal or a contract perspective For us. We really hope that it helps them realize our role in serving them and that we want to be end-to-end partner in their impact work, and we want them to know that we're here to support them with everything from their business and organizational storytelling to helping understand how they can be more impactful with the platform that they have as a business. So shouldn't be any changes on their end. Other more opportunities to connect and talk about all the great work that they're doing.

Speaker 1:

And they are.

Speaker 2:

Our clients are doing really, really amazing things and we're very, really proud to support them.

Speaker 1:

Awesome. Thank you so much for that, david, and thank you to all of you listeners for being on this journey with us and supporting this important work. We're really excited to be in this work with you and really excited about this new chapter. To learn more about our transition to campfire, you can head on down to the link in your podcast player, which will take you to a blog post where we've written a bit more about it. Thank you and, as always, be responsibly different.
