Last Thursday marked the beginning of Pentecost, also known as the Festival of Weeks—or Shavuot in Hebrew. Celebrated seven weeks after Passover, it was one of Israel’s major pilgrimage festivals and the very occasion during which the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the disciples in Acts 2.

This teaching conclude our series, Encounters with the Risen Jesus, by exploring the significance of the coming of the Holy Spirit and why this moment became such a major turning point in the story of the early church.
