Song is called more than anything. And it was released today, September 3rd, every worry stream music. Uh, there's also a video on YouTube where we did an acoustic version, uh, that you're listening to right now. But I just want to share for a moment about this song because there's, you know, having written a lot of songs and sing, you know, singing a lot of other people's songs. There, there's some incredible songs out there, but it's, it's not that often that I come across a song that, um, I can't think of a better way to say it then. So I'll just kind of say it, uh, and try to explain it, but that haunts me in, in a really, really good way. Um, it just brings me into this place of, um, encounter with the need. I have to surrender my life to him, uh, fresh. And, uh, this song was written by, um, a good friend of mine named Lisa Godshaw and then another good friend, my brother, John. Um, and it was, it was written by the three of us spontaneously on a set at the, the house of prayer here in Kansas city. Uh, the three of us were, were on a team together for probably, I don't know, five, six years, uh, 12 hours a week. We're singing the Bible. We're interceding, we're praying. And this song came out over 10 years ago and, you know, we were, we were on a set live and it just kinda, it was like this, this, um, eruption that happened of, of surrender to the Lord and the chorus specifically, you know, cause when you do a lot of sets, uh, you know, at the house of pray, you're doing 12 hours a week. If you're on two teams, you're doing like 24 hours a week, you know, uh, sometimes a set can become a set, you know, I mean, you never want it to be that, but sometimes it's just like, Lord, I'm here in body and I'm trying to be here in spirit, you know, it's just like, um, but we were, we were going through, it was a Wednesday morning set at 8:00 AM and we're probably about an hour, maybe hour and 15 minutes in. And we had, you know, song, I can't remember the exact portion of scripture that we had sung through, but, um, Lisa Godshall just starts singing this chorus more than anything. I want to be fully set apart for you and my, my jaw and my heart was just like on the floor. Like, um, yes, that's it like that, that is the heart cry that, that I want to burn inside of me that more than, um, being something or building something incredible for you, Lord, I want you to have my, my heart. I want you to have my thoughts, my, my soul, my will, my emotions. I want them to be attuned to your ways and set apart for your kingdom that I'd spend my days loving you, not just in word, but also indeed more than anything. I want to be fully set apart for you. And then a couple of moments later on stage during this set, my, my brother came out with a, the bridge of the song in the testing of my faith. Let it be found to be pure as gold to give you praise in the testing of my faith when, when things are not going, according to plan, when, when I'm experiencing just, you know, loss in my life or there's lack in my life or there's confusion in my life where there's things that are, um, causing me to get angry in my life, let it be sound to be pure as gold. The, my life would bring you praise. And so I hope this song encourages you the same way that it has encouraged me and I, I even hope that, you know, it, it haunts your soul in a really, really good way with, uh, the holy spirit, the spirit of truth that, that beautiful helper, the person of the holy spirit would, would truly convict our hearts would awaken our hearts would draw our hearts to truly have that cry. That more than anything else that we could ever desire or want in this world is to be fully given to the Lord.
