Hey guys, welcome back to another episode. It is so good to be back from a tour. We were out for 45 days took my whole family with me. It was incredible and one of the things I loved about this tour when we saw God do so many amazing things, but having the family there, my parents also came to help with the kids. But one of the things I loved about this tour was that for the first time, I had a product with me that I have not yet released until this very moment I said I'm sharing with you guys, but it's a brand new book that I wrote called the worship the ultimate worship team field guide. If you're watching this on YouTube, you see it there. If not, it is available right now on Amazon and you know it's. It's a field guide, so we designed it.
Speaker 1:There's a bunch of margin on the pages, if you can see that. So there's space for you to write, space for you to kind of keep track of your own thoughts, and I wrote this book not as like a start at the front cover. This line is not usually there. That's the pre-copy or whatever for me to look at it. But what I love about this I didn't write it. You know to read it. Yeah, I write it to read from, like you know, cover to cover, start at chapter one, go all the way to chapter 22. Each of these chapters is like standalone and I broke it up into two parts. So if you look at the table of contents in the book, there's two parts. The first part is a spiritual foundation for worship leading and then the second part is practical tools for worship leading. So this is for pastors, worship leaders, singers, musicians, av techs. Get a hold of this, buy a couple of copies for your worship team, go through it so you might be looking at okay, I need to help leading a band practice, so that's chapter 14. You flip right to it, page 130. I want to look at songwriting it's chapter 19. Talk about worship team, bible studies that's chapter 20. So you can basically literally look at what you need help with and flip right to that page.
Speaker 1:And this is a big project for me. You write books, you release music, you do things like that. You release books, you release music, you do things like that movies, films, whatever. But this is really special to me because it's kind of a summation of the past 20 plus years of my life of being a worship leader and in those 20 plus years I've led worship for over 10,000 hours. If you've been a part of my story, you've heard me say that before and I always say this. I don't say that to impress you, but to impress upon you. I have made a lot of mistakes, I've done things wrong a lot and really my heart in really all of the things that I do, with my online coaching programs that I run, which you guys can check those out at justinrizotrainingcom from the books I've released in the past, but this one is just a little bit different because it's a spiritual and a practical guide and it's over 200 pages long.
Speaker 1:This is like my whole brain in a book, again in a guide. Not so much in a spiritual enrichment type of thing I mean, there are spiritually enriching chapters in here but it's like what do you need help with right now? You're out in the field as a worship leader in the trenches. Here's your guide. Flip to that page. You know, look it up, take notes. You know, look at some Bible verses I have in there. Learn about some stuff, you know, go deep in it. So, whether you're just stepping into the role or you've been leading worship for years. This book is your go-to companion for navigating the challenges, joys and sacred calling of worship leadership.
Speaker 1:And a lot of times the way worship leaders are, you know, discovered, is in high school. You know, with their youth group, and the youth pastor or youth leader finds out oh my gosh, you can, you know you sing and you can play the instrument at the same time. You can do them both. Oh my gosh, like we're building a youth worship team. Do you want to be on it? Do you want to lead it? And you know we're, we're teenagers, we're young, we're like man. I love God, I love exalting him, I love doing with other people. Like, absolutely, let's do it. You know, and then maybe you know, out of high school you'll end up worship leading job somewhere and it becomes like this life pursuit that maybe even later in life.
Speaker 1:And you're like you know what? I got into this because I love Jesus and I wanted to worship him with other people. But there's a lot of other stuff that goes with it. There's like band relationships that are hard, singer relationships that are hard, my sound tech, my AV relationships that are hard, my pastor, my executive pastor those relationships are hard. I don't think I want to do this anymore. I got into this thing to worship and it's just been issue after issue after issue. And the issue isn't that it's hard we can do things that are difficult the issue is that you've never received that type of training to actually walk you through. Hey, it's not just about having a pretty voice and playing a couple of chords on.
Speaker 1:How do you lead offstage? What does soul care look like for you as a worship leader, doing this thing 45 to 48 weekends a year, you know, week after week after week. And a lot of worship leaders are volunteer. You know a lot of them are not paid or it's a very, very small stipend that they get. So how do you keep yourself intact emotionally, spiritually, relationally, as a leader to do this thing for the long haul? And that's what this book really, really focuses on. Inside these pages you'll find a treasure trove of practical tools, biblical insights and real world guidance mostly my mistakes from building healthy teams, planning your weekly sets, how to handle burnout, overcoming insecurity, growing in your walk with Jesus.
Speaker 1:This Ultimate Worship Leader Field Guide Worship Team Field Guide is packed with wisdom to help you thrive on and off the platform. So, wherever you're at on your journey, I want to encourage you to pick up a copy. You might want to gift a copy to a couple other people. If you're a pastor listening to this, you might want to get a couple copies and distribute them amongst your worship team, because it's a great practical way. I forget even how much we put it for on Amazon, but it is on Amazon right now you can check it out and I'm just so excited. I'm so excited.
