Angela Allison is a millennial entrepreneur who set her sights in 2018 on Napa Valley's wine scene with a new century point of view - wine needed to fit into HER lifestyle which finds her often on the move - whether on a boat, hiking or cross-country treks between her home states of Ohio and California. Her solution for her wine needs was can based.
Angela's co-founder and husband is an entrepreneur himself, steeped in the data that drives both real estate and Silicon Valley. That knowledge basis led them to jump into a market space primed for growth. In August 2020, canned wine sales reflected a 68% increase in the year from August 2019.
Wine Society's canned red blend, Tempt, scored 94 points at the International Wine and Spirits competition - the only canned wine to do so.
Wine Society features rich, matte finished tall cans that hold 500 ML, another deviation from the norm, based on half carafe sizing as Angela feels that is the perfect size for sharing - or not. True to her generational cohort, Angela's vision for the design of Wine Society's can had two key elements - they are eco-friendly and VERY Instagram-worthy.
