I always"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":241.02,"endTime":243.36,"body":"loved it when the comedians came"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":241.02,"endTime":243.36,"body":"on again, you like checking"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":243.36,"endTime":247.41,"body":"green mirin Cohen, you know, the"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":243.36,"endTime":247.41,"body":"old Borscht Belt comics were the"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":247.41,"endTime":254.22,"body":"first ones and then evolved into"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":247.41,"endTime":254.22,"body":"you know, Cosby Carlin which she"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":254.22,"endTime":257.16,"body":"prior before he turned into"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":254.22,"endTime":257.16,"body":"Richard Pryor, and I was"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":257.16,"endTime":260.43,"body":"noticing when people were"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":257.16,"endTime":260.43,"body":"watching, you know, family was"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":260.43,"endTime":263.16,"body":"watching it, everybody was"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":260.43,"endTime":263.16,"body":"laughing. And so, one day, you"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":269.16,"endTime":274.26,"body":"know, back in the 80s, is you"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":274.26,"endTime":278.22,"body":"know, when comedy took off, and"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":274.26,"endTime":278.22,"body":"all you had to do is slap up a"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":278.22,"endTime":283.92,"body":"comedy sign on a bar and miss"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":278.22,"endTime":283.92,"body":"you could misspell it, and the"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":283.92,"endTime":287.7,"body":"place would be packed because"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":283.92,"endTime":287.7,"body":"comedy was the the new rock and"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":287.7,"endTime":290.79,"body":"roll and you know, basically low"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":287.7,"endTime":290.79,"body":"overhead because you just had,"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":290.82,"endTime":294.15,"body":"you know, a slab of meat and a"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":290.82,"endTime":294.15,"body":"microphone and a light was"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":294.15,"endTime":297.87,"body":"really easy to put on. So that's"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":294.15,"endTime":297.87,"body":"how I got into it was one"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":297.87,"endTime":303.15,"body":"Saturday morning, I woke up I"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":297.87,"endTime":303.15,"body":"wasn't hungover. And I seen in"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":303.15,"endTime":306.15,"body":"the San Jose Mercury News Lee"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":303.15,"endTime":306.15,"body":"whiners was a columnist back"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":306.15,"endTime":309.63,"body":"then. And that this guy named"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":306.15,"endTime":309.63,"body":"Dan scow was teaching an improv"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":309.63,"endTime":312.78,"body":"comedy class at the last laugh."},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":309.63,"endTime":312.78,"body":"I think you probably remember"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":312.78,"endTime":318.96,"body":"that pleasure. Yeah. So I"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":312.78,"endTime":318.96,"body":"literally literally grabbed"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":318.96,"endTime":321.78,"body":"myself by the collar and took"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":318.96,"endTime":321.78,"body":"myself down. I said, you know,"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":321.78,"endTime":326.37,"body":"it's time to, you know, just do"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":321.78,"endTime":326.37,"body":"it. The worst that can happen is"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":326.37,"endTime":330.57,"body":"will be horrible. And then"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":326.37,"endTime":330.57,"body":"you'll know, because one of the"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":330.57,"endTime":332.19,"body":"things growing up, you know,"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":330.57,"endTime":332.19,"body":"hey, you're a funny guy. And at the end of"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":336.0,"endTime":340.8,"body":"it, the guy came up to me and I"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":340.8,"endTime":343.02,"body":"was gonna go, he's all getting"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":340.8,"endTime":343.02,"body":"going, Hayden's gonna go, hey,"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":343.02,"endTime":345.99,"body":"you know, you really suck, you"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":343.02,"endTime":345.99,"body":"need to leave. And so he got us, he set"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":374.82,"endTime":379.71,"body":"up an open mic at a place called"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":374.82,"endTime":379.71,"body":"Captain Cooks in Cupertino. And"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":380.46,"endTime":383.94,"body":"we really didn't actually expect"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":380.46,"endTime":383.94,"body":"to perform in front of people."},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":384.39,"endTime":387.06,"body":"We thought it was just going to"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":384.39,"endTime":387.06,"body":"be the class, you know, you're"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":387.06,"endTime":391.59,"body":"going to perform in front of an"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":387.06,"endTime":391.59,"body":"audience, and we were scared out"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":391.59,"endTime":395.49,"body":"of our brains. So I got to meet a"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":395.58,"endTime":398.97,"body":"bunch of, you know, comedian Rob"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":398.97,"endTime":403.02,"body":"Schneider used to come down and"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":398.97,"endTime":403.02,"body":"be set. Because that was back"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":403.02,"endTime":405.33,"body":"in, like I said, The time when,"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":403.02,"endTime":405.33,"body":"you know, comedy was everywhere."},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":405.33,"endTime":408.3,"body":"You could drive around the Bay"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":405.33,"endTime":408.3,"body":"Area and who got four or five"},{"speaker":"Tree","startTime":408.3,"endTime":411.15,"body":"sets a night?
