I hope you all had a really wonderful weekend. I got a chance to go to church yesterday morning. Be honest. How many of you went to church in your pajamas? I know you can do that. You can get down in front of your computer or your TV, and you could want your curious service in your pajamas. It's one of those cool things we get to do now that we can't go to church in the normal way. So I hope you're getting a chance to enjoy it with your family and that you had a really great day yesterday. But here we are on Monday, the beginning of another week. And so we're going to call this hope Monday today because I want you to know that there is hope for us today in the middle of this Corona virus. Do not give up. My friends do not give up. There is always hope in Jesus Christ. Romans, Chapter eight, Verse 25 says this. But if we hope for what we don't yet have, we wait for it patiently. You and I are in the place where we're waiting, sometimes impatiently for the screwing a virus to go away. For this to be resolved to to be ended. We want it done. Let's be honest with each other. We just want it done. When the Bible talks about hope, it talks about it in a different way than what we tend to think of. When we think of hope we tend to think of. We're wishing for it to happen. We believe that maybe it might happen. It's kind of like I hope I get a new bike for Christmas. You know, it's that kind of thing where we're wishing that it's a good thing that will happen. Maybe well, the Bible doesn't talk about it as maybe when the Bible talks about hope, it's talking about expectancy. Were waiting expectantly for it toe happen for God to move and to do what he has promised, he will do so Here we are facing the Corona virus, facing all the restrictions that are around is hoping that it will end and hoping that we can get back to normal, hoping that we can go camping hoping that we can travel and do the things that we want to do. Those are our hopes, but the hope that we need to have is in Christ that in him this will be resolved and I will be taken care of and my family will be taken care of, and we will see good things for you. Come out of this law that in some way you're going to use this to build your kingdom and to do something good in some, right? Even in the middle of what we've lost in what we don't have, I want to tell you this story. It's a great story. It's a story about a painting, actually, and the painting is as about an old, burned out mountain shack, and it's been completely destroyed and it's sitting there and it's still smoldering. There's a little bit of a flame still going on 1/4. The only thing that's still standing is the chimney that had been built, and standing outside of this old shack is an old man that looks like a grandfather, and he's got his arm around a young boy. The grandfather only has on is his long John pajamas, the young boys hanging on to a pair of cover alls. It's evident that that's all they were able to salvage before the fire destroyed everything else. Young boys crying and below the painting, it says, Hush Boy, Got ain't dead. When you first look at the painting, it is one of despair is one that says they've lost everything. It's all gone. There is no hope for them. But then the old man says those words. Hush Boy got a dead. Just because we're in the middle of a lot of fear and uncertainty, and it seems to be going on a lot longer than we thought it should. I need to let you know we on the shadow of a doubt God ain't dead. He is with us he is for us. He loves you right now. And he's going to take care of you and help you along the way. Put your trust in him and believe that God is alive today. Know that as we wait patiently and our hope is in the Lord, that he will bring about his answer for us, and we can trust him with that. So today, as you start your week on Monday, put your hope in God, Get your sites up, get your hopes up. Get excited about what God's going to do in you and for you. Don't let anybody or anything dragging down. Stay on top of it. We're all in this together.
