On Tuesday we look at Christian music and today we look at a hymn written in 1855, What a Friend We Have in Jesus. Like many hymns of the time, it was written as an expression of hope in Christ while facing extreme tragedy. This hymn, written by Joseph Scriven, was penned during just such a time in his life.
It is a timeless hymn that has much to say about how we all can face tragedy and stress in our lives.
