SPEAKER_00:

Good morning and welcome to Starting Right with Danny Mack. I'm going to be here every Monday to Friday to help you get a great five-minute start to your day. So grab your cup of coffee, sit back, relax, and let me help you start your day right. Good morning, everybody. It's good to have you here with us today. We're going to look at a song by Jeremy Camp called These Days. These days we are always busy. We are always on the run. We often feel that the world is spinning out of control. And it's easy to feel overwhelmed by this pace and intensity of life, when we sometimes even fear that the worst is yet to come. But the truth is that during turbulent times like these, it's when we need to make sure that we are grounding ourselves in the Word of God. It's crucial for us. So let's take a few minutes to look at the words of the song and to look at Scripture and how they combine to give us a real and important message for us. First of all, Jeremiah twenty nine eleven. This passage reminds us that no matter how much things in the world may seem out of control, God has a very deliberate and good plan for each of us. It says, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. In today's feature song, These Days, it suggests that we are in the right place at the right time. I'm sure that one of the verses we think about when looking at things like these days is the story of Esther, where she became queen of the kingdom and an influence over the king at a very significant time for the people of Israel. At one point in Esther chapter four, verse fourteen, Mordecai says this to her Who knows but that you have come into your royal position for such a time as this? We may not know exactly why we are where we are right now, but we need to remember that God has placed us here for a purpose. We are where we are supposed to be to fulfill God's plan. The Bible also tells us that in the face of darkness, when we're going through very dark times, we are called to be light. Matthew chapter five, verses fourteen to sixteen says, You are the light of the world, a town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on a stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. So no matter how dark the world appears around us, we were born to shine brightly, illuminating the path for others and spreading the hope of God's love. It reminds me of Romans chapter eight twenty eight. We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. So even in the most dire of circumstances, God is at work, bringing beauty from ashes through the hope that He is placed within all of us. And not only that, but never forget what we are told in Ephesians chapter two and verse ten, where it says that we are God's handiwork, created in Christ to do good works, for which God prepared in advance for us to do. We are active contributors to the masterpiece that God is making. The lyrics from the song also say stay when it gets hard, love with open arms. First Corinthians chapter sixteen, verses thirteen to fourteen urges us to be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong, do everything in love. The truth is this it is during challenging times that our steadfast love and faithfulness becomes most crucial and most valuable. Finally, let me give you Isaiah forty one ten. This is a really profound promise. God says, Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will hold you with my righteous right hand. So we never need to be afraid. God is with us, He's guiding and sustaining us through everything that we face. So instead of being afraid, let's embrace the idea that we are made for these days, these specific, challenging, turbulent days. Let's trust that we are in the right place at the right time, called by God who doesn't make mistakes. Let's be the bright light in this dark world carrying the hope and love of Christ to everyone we meet. I'm going to leave you with a short clip from Jeremy Camp and his song These Days. And in your show notes you will see the YouTube link that you can click on and go and watch and listen to the whole thing. I encourage you to do that. It is a powerful and encouraging song for us that we need to hear right now. Have a great day, my friends. Be blessed and be a blessing. And here's Jeremy Camp with These Days. These days are fast and the furious.
