The phrase “God is great” can become so familiar that it turns into background noise. Today we slow down long enough to hear it again with fresh weight and real wonder, using Chris Tomlin’s “How Great Is Our God” World Edition as a soundtrack for a brand new week. Hearing worship in multiple languages becomes a powerful reminder that the life-changing power of Christ reaches anyone, anywhere, and that praise isn’t confined by borders.
We also step outside for a simple practice that resets perspective fast: look up at the night sky. Stars, galaxies, and even a single shooting star can jolt us awake to the scale of creation and the greatness of the Creator. Psalm 145:3 puts words to what we feel in those moments, that God’s greatness is beyond what we can fully grasp, yet still worthy of our full attention. If God created the universe, is He great enough to meet you in what you’re facing this week: needs, worries, decisions, and pressure? We lean on Philippians 4:18 as a steady promise that God cares and provides through Jesus Christ.

Music Monday And Chris Tomlin Pick
SPEAKER_00

Well, good morning, everybody, and welcome to another magnificent music Monday as we start a brand new week together. Hey, I hope you had a great weekend. And you're looking forward and believing that God's going to bless you and do some wonderful things in your lives this week. I think that's a good place for all of us to start. Our music Monday song today was originally recorded and released back in 2006 by Chris Tomlin. And the song is one that you all have been singing in church, I am sure. It's How Great Is Our God. He has called this version How Great Is Our God World Edition, and it features appearances from renowned international worship leaders singing parts of the song and in their native language. Those languages include Hindi and English and Indonesian and Russian and Spanish and Portuguese, Afrikaan, and even Mandarin. I love these recordings of powerful worship songs that incorporate worship leaders from around the world singing in their own language. It's such a beautiful and powerful reminder that the life-changing power of Christ can speak to anyone and everyone wherever they are in the world. And he is a great and mighty God. I love it.

Why “Great God” Can Feel Commonplace
SPEAKER_00

Psalm 145 3 makes this declaration Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, his greatness no one can fathom. We serve a great God. We hear that phrase often coming at us from different places and different people. In fact, if we've heard it too often, we can get to the point where it becomes commonplace to us. We don't recognize it again for how magnificent and great our God really is. So this morning I want to remind ourselves of that.

Looking At Stars To Rebuild Wonder
SPEAKER_00

God is great. He's created the universe, every part of it. He created you and me. He created everything that exists. There is nothing that is that would be if it was not for him. That's how great our God is. And the song itself reminds us about how great God is. Some of the lyrics say age to age he stands, and time is in his hands. Beginning and the end, the Godhead three and one, Father, Spirit, Son, the lion and the lamb. How great is our God? Just think about it. Without him there would be no stars in the sky. There would be no earth or world. We wouldn't be here, our families wouldn't be here. There is absolutely nothing that would exist without him. One of the things I like to do when the weather gets warmer is to go outside later at night, to sit in an area that's not affected by street lights or car lights, and look up into the clear night sky. Those millions and millions of stars that are out there twinkling away. Almost inevitably we will see at least one shooting star. But as I look up into the vast galaxies beyond where we are, I am constantly amazed and constantly thankful for who God is, that He has created all of this. I am filled with incredible wonder. There is so much more that God will one day reveal to us, I'm sure. Because we don't know why the vastness of that universe is there, other than for it to be there as an exclamation mark about who God is, that he can do all of those things and do them very easily with the simple flip of his fingers as he threw the stars into the skies.

Is God Big Enough For Your Needs
SPEAKER_00

And then we come back to the very basic question of the song. How great is our God? We see all that he has done, we see that all he has created, but is he great enough to meet you this week in your needs and the things that you're facing and the things that you're worried about and what you need for your life. Do you believe that God is big enough and powerful enough and cares enough to meet those needs for you?

Philippians Promise And Closing Blessing

SPEAKER_00

I'm here to tell you that if he can create the universe, if he can create everything that exists, he certainly is able to meet your needs. Philippians 4 18 in the Passion Translation says, I am convinced that God will fully satisfy every need you have, for I have seen the abundant riches of glory revealed to me through Jesus Christ. He cares about each one of us. The same God who created it all cares about us. I hope you have a great day, my friends. Here's Chris Talwin, the World Edition with How Great Is Our God.
